Another STP AU has been made.

Been thinking about it a lot more tho- yk?? Due to these tags I left on a beckory post:

Tony is the protagonist(“You”), Ellis is “Friend”, and Gregory is The Prince.

This AU is more different yk?? You don't slay him, but you try to save him. Yet something otherworldly stops you to save him, and tells him to slay You.

In some routes he listens, follows and slays you. You just end up in a place where other souls roam. Until you are brought back to life by your Best Friend.

And it starts again.

In other routes, he tries to ignore the calling and listen to your Friend and You(maybe. Here, You aren't “You”, if you get my message. "You" are a vessel, your intentions from when you were young, made the Greed Demon possess you. Maybe even Envy, too).

In some of these routes, it's you that slays him. These routes are all based on "Thorn Princess". Betrayal and hurt, there are vines and thorns everywhere. / Or maybe these routes can also be like the Grays(Greys).

You still die, and get brought back.

To start again.

STP oon my mind, especially that strangely romantic/sexual tension smitten and cold had in the burned grey route, could you write something about them?

🌹The Burned Gray route?! Oh dear anon are you alright? Are you sure you’ve thought of this? Oh dear… though I am a bit concerned. I believe I do have a scenario for this… but however I don’t condone any abuse right, that goes along with killing a lover. This route is… quite concerning. In my opinion. But I will try and make a scenario. Also since the narrator is keen on narrating what your doing i believe this shall take a different approach.🌹

The princess… The princess is supposed to be my enemy. At least that’s what the narrator said… god and these voices aren’t helping ether! Smitten, Hero Narrator and now more? God this is getting more ridiculous. And more confusing… “Hey! Are you even listening?” The narrator snapped me out of my thoughts yet again… I’d groan with frustration. “What do you want?” You’d mumble. You thought slaying the ‘innocent damsel’ and Smitten just had to do something so stupid. “I believe we’re back in the woods to the cabin right?” The hero states the obvious. Without talking I’d walk to the cabin. “I’m sure you’ve already heard my words of warning in one of your ‘past lives.’ You’ve already managed to slay her once, just…” he sighs. “Don’t much it up this time, all right?” You roll your eyes. Just wanting this to be done and over with. “Oh, we’ll muck it up, all right. We’ll get our happy ending, even if it damns each and every person who’s ever lived!” You’ve have enough of this. “SMITTEN DO US A FAVOR AND SHUT UP WOULD YOU? Geez…” the Narrator and the other voices gone silent for a moment as I I try to calm down. “Yes there’s not time for-.” Geez can’t I get one second to think? “NO DON’T START WITH THAT! I am not gonna slay a princess. All I want is some time to actually think without any of you talking. I’ll do things my own way and that’s final!” With that I opened the door and gone inside. However I noticed the voices along with the narrator wasn’t speaking anymore. Odd, but I shake it off. I noticed the figure of the princess? She doesn’t look alive to me… they disappeared without a word. That’s new… I looked around and noticed the blade is gone. Huh… ok… now I’m starting to think I should’ve just- never mind. I look over and noticed the mirror.. of course. I’d go up and touch the mirror. It’s gone without a trace. I’d open the door without hesitation. The stair way looking different. As I finally made it down I saw nothing but what once was the princess? Hold on something isn’t right? I’d hear a a door shut along with a lock. I’d turn and looked up to see her. Holding a torch… oh boy…

“You came back! I missed you.”

Ok… this I definitely don’t know what is going on…

“This is a bad place.”

I’d take a deep breath. As I started to gain back my composure a bit.

“Yeah.. it is… look if this is about what happened… I’m sorry. I felt bad for what I did. I just didn’t wanna…”

I’d think back to the first time I’ve met the princess… the feeling of my body moving on it’s own, the sense of the knife being sliced into my skin. And the way the narrator said it was agony… it really was…

“I didn’t wanna feel that sense of lacking control over my body. I never wanted to hurt you. But my fears took over and I-!”

I’d somewhat feel a chill on my cheek the princess was close to me. Though they’re like this, she’s still beautiful in a way.

“So you didn’t want to?”

She must’ve reed my face as she said that. I’d then straighten my posture as I then go up the stairs to meet her face to face.

“Of course.. I’m actually not gonna lie… I was scared… maybe you would’ve stabbed me in the back… maybe you wouldn’t like me like before…”

I could feel her cold ghostly touch pressing against my cheek. I’d see sadness and concern in her face.

“I loved you regardless of what happened. You’re very dear to me…”

I could feel my face heat up a bit. I would put my hand on the cheek her hand was on, only for it to go through it… it makes me feel guilty for what she’s become now. If it wasn’t for me then maybe things would’ve been different, maybe something better. I wouldn’t blame her if she lit up the basement right now.

“Yeah… me to… I just wished things would’ve gone differently, if I wasn’t-.”

I would feel a cold chill placed upon my forehead, a kiss she placed. It lingered for a bit.

“We’ll be together though. As long as it’s you, I won’t complain.”

With that she threw the torch down. But I wasn’t afraid, instead I felt like this was something I actually wanted, something that could possibly be better for the both of us… I’d feel her chilled arms around my neck as she smiled. I smiled back. If only I could hold her like once before. I could feel the heat of the flames as I stood still with her. I was expecting to die only for everything to disappear and for her to disappear as well. All I saw was a mirror……

Sorry this took two weeks to respond to, school makes me work on my own time:

BOY OH BOY IM SO EXCITED TO TALK ABOUT MY OCS

So right now I have two main series that I'm working on, and one manuscript for a different series that is finished and going through editing.

Two main series are called Makings of Magic--previously the "Alexis" series--and Crystal Kingdom. The manuscript I have finished is the first book in my Save the Princess (STP) duology. It was my nano project for 2020 (and I won nano!! which was nice). Most of these have tags: tmom or the makings of magic and stp1 or stp, idr if ive posted much about ck before

The Makings of Magic

This is a whole ass world, nine book + companions series that I've been working on since I was 10. I could literally be here all day explaining who all the characters are, but I'll just go for the main gang and a summary:

Summary: Fantasy minor professional jock Alic gets kidnapped by baddies because they think she has a secret magic that they want to use their evil ways to un-secret. She does not have any of this magic. She ends up being the center of a secret-magic conspiracy and eventually is freed and decides to go after the people who kidnapped her, with another guy they kidnapped, and accidentally creates an international incident and starts a war while the conspiracy-nuts continue to try and prove that they're right by attacking people Alic knows.

Alic:

Alic is the mc of the series. She's very silly, and very brave. She's one of those people who will do anything on a dare. You cannot scare you, you cannot phase her, you cannot make her uncomfortable. She never lies because she doesn't see the point of it. She isn't afraid of anything. Light of my life. Not very smart <3

Gray:

Gray is the local prince, and Alic's best friend. They're basically QPR partners. He spends most of his time changing his personality so that people will like him (and thereby listen to him) but really he's very petty and a little neurotic and when combined with Alic willing to do very dumb things, because with Alic, Gray doesn't have to pretend to be put-together, and they love each other a lot and get into loads of trouble <3

Topaz:

Topaz is the manager of Alic's fantasy jock team. He's very suspicious of other people, and very good at spying on others. Alic (and by extension, Gray) decide he is their friend and he gets dragged into their crazy adventures. He leaves for three chapters in book three and they accidentally commit war crimes.

Jacian:

Jacian is a prince and scholar of magic from a nearby kingdom and he is blackmailed into helping the conspiracy-nuts essentially torture Alic until they figure out what magic she has. He and his gang of do-gooders end up freeing Alic, but in the process the conspiracy-nuts kill his father and give Jacian memory loss and brain damage and he sets out to try and figure out what he has forgotten: which is who killed his father and who the Big Bad is. This is a majority of the plot in books three and four as well as his side companion book. He's kinda wishy washy and nerdy which Alic thinks is cute.

Crystal Kingdom

Summary: This is my Princess and the Pea retelling. I'm not going to go too much into the plot here because hehe i like it being a surprise.

Zira: Zira is a paranoid, neurotic prince of a city-state that is constantly under attack (hence the paranoia and neurosis). He's also mean and bitchy and very petty, and doesn't trust Leihari, the supposed nearby Princess who supposedly lost her family and her country after a usurper supposedly kicked her family out. What sucks is that he may also be falling in love with her.

Leihari: Leihari is (supposedly) a princess from a far away city-state who has lost her crown and is staying with Zira and his family. In return for their kindness, she is helping them out with matters of state and other things a princess is supposed to do. She's kind, and a little sad, but trying to make the best of her new situation. It would be much easier of the prince stopped being mean to her. What's really frustrating is that he's wonderful to everyone else--it's just that he's paranoid. But seeing what he is like when he is nice to others makes her yearn to earn his trust, and maybe she starts falling in love with him too. Supposedly. But in the meantime, she isn't going to take any of his shit.

STP

Summary: My nano baby! This is a Princess and the Pauper retelling with dragons!! It's very exciting and i love it a lot :) Takes place in a historical alternate universe (with dragons) in about 500 BCE, in Ancient Israel because I'm Jewish and I thought why the hell not.

Adina: The Princess. Adina was meant to be married off to the highest bidder as any good princess of the time will, until her older brother was killed and she became next in line to the throne. Realizing that she knew nothing about her own people--after all, she's been expecting to be married off--she decides to switch places with someone who looks exactly like her. And everything is fine until the dragons attack.

Adina is quiet and generally second-best, and scared of the unknown and not meant for adventure, but she has a responsibility to go after the dragon that attacked her people, so off she goes. She's even shocked herself by how brave she's trying to be.

Dekeli: The Extortionist. A cloth merchant who works for dragons and was doing fine until everyone in the known world came out trying to kill a bunch of them. Now he has to get his latest job finished, and the easiest way for him to do that is by extorting Adina's secrets. Ironically, he's the person she can trust the most. Probably.

He's snarky and rude and very good at what he does. Adventure finds him, and he goes with a flair and a quip. It gets on Adina's nerves.

Mara: The Pauper. She's meek and smart and that's all Adina needs from her, so that's good. Right? Nothing more needs to be said, right? She has no ulterior motives--why would she?... right?

augh damsel-prisoner-spectre/smitten-skeptic-cold parallels my beloved

damsel/prisoner parallels obviously

smitten and cold being foils obviously

getting smitten/cold and skeptic/cold in both gray routes-- unlike the other chapter IIIs, cold is the only voice you can get in the gray

the prisoner route and chapter 1 leading to the spectre being the only routes where you can get the "good ending" (i think)

not really a thematic parallel i think but i've been sort of keeping track of which chapter 2s share a chapter 3 and possible themes they share and interestingly besides stranger and razor those three routes are the only ones without their own unique chapter 3

which. actually. that's like half the chapter 2s BUT stranger and razor are the odd ones out for different reasons

you can't get any other chapter 3 in the damsel or prisoner besides the grays However! both the prisoner and the damsel have varient endings: the deconstructed damsel and the prisoner's head

(also just a side thought but you would think getting beheaded would make for a bad ending but that varient feels more like the "good" option to me, in part because there's not a lot of dialogue if you get chained up with the prisoner but also because the Themes™. the route is all about skepticism and distrust and by trusting the princess and giving her the blade and her trusting you to take her head you are able to escape the cabin! the prisoner's also very proactive in getting herself out, which feels interesting in comparison to the damsel and how she's completely dependent on the protagonist to get her out- and another parallel, the prisoner takes action to get rid of her own chains which have multiplied since last time, and the damsel is reliant upon us to save her despite the fact that her hand slips out easily from her chain (although then again that could just be our perception changing things with the help of smitten brute forcing fairytale tropes and happily ever after logic onto the world) idk it's like the prisoner has more. autonomy in this route? more agency?)

and of course the spectre can only lead to the wraith which you can get with nightmare as well

sorry spectre and skeptic i feel like i did you guys dirty in this post i also love you guys but there are more parallels between damsel/prisoner and smitten/cold

you know what though i would LOVE to see spectre skeptic interactions. i think it would be Interesting.

(modern au murder mystery with skeptic as a detective and spectre as the murder victim who's become a ghost...)

(alternately titled GENESIS RESPLENDENT) No matter the calendrical/official onset of vernal equinox takes places Tuesday, Mar 19, 2024 and transpires until Thursday, Jun 20, 2024, an intimation sensed (predicated on above average temperatures for February 21st, 2024) that season of blooming plants will override any assertion of Old Man Winter.

The ideal, general, ethereal ability of corporeal (once arboreal) beings to adduce, contemplate and exhaust gray inner knobby matter oft times finds this clothed apish chap entertaining gamesome insight. How did this, that or another thought spring forth per mine consciousness? This conjecture might be a shrunken modus operandi how life began, which query mankind scrunched brow throughout Homo Sapiens history did contemplate. Origin of life ascribed to the big bang, but then the question begged what preceded that cosmic event, which question came crashing into inquisitive mind of yours truly (me) after reading a book titled Angels and Demons by Dan Brown; He also wrote the Da Vinci Code, and The Lost Symbol among other book titles.

A super helpful guide to units of radiation, commented by Emily Mabrey on A Brief History of: The Lucens Reactor Meltdown (Short Documentary) by Plainly Difficult on YouTube (for context for the first section, this was part of a discussion on how many different units were used in the video):

The problem is the units are fundamentally incompatible by definition because they measure different things. You would have to get extra information and/or make assumptions to do the conversions from some of the radiation related units. There are units that measure the following things involving ionizing radiation:

Equivalent dose:

rem (roentgen-equivalent-man) - 1 rem of any type of radiation does the same biologic damage as 1 Roentgen of high-voltage X-rays whole body. This doesn't tell you how much exact energy or what kind of radiation you absorbed, or where you absorbed it, but the rem unit does tell you how badly it impacted you biologically compared to the impact of a known standard radiation type also adjusted for a specific body tissue.

Sievert - defined in terms of J/kg, just like the Gray, but instead of measuring total energy absorbed it measures the effective energy exposure required to produce the biologic effects of the absorbed dose in the specific tissue by relative weighting against an idealized geometry of an idealized "human" composition with 1 to 1 dose response (a simplification but more or less right). You calculate this dose equivalent by multiplying the effective dose in Sievert by a weighting factor to get an equivalent dose in Sievert.

Exposure (Photon Only):

Roentgen - this tells you that you were in the presence of a photon radiation source capable of releasing a specific amount of electric charge, upon absorption and ionization, per an amount of mass. This essentially this indexes radiation intensity to energy released upon absorption graduated to the specific energy because his unit is only a measure of ionization intensity as a direct result of the absorption of the radiation. So, given that these all mean different things in a lot of cases, you cant even be sure a historical event had the same exposure using the same unit in both time periods without effort.

Absorbed dose (specific energy of dose):

Gray - defined as absorbed dose per unit mass in Joule/kg without any adjusting the literal energy absorbed, as this unit measures. This unit is easier to visualize if I point out that absorbing 4184 Gray exposes you to the same amount of energy, only in the form of ionizing radiation, as 1000 Calorie (SI), or 1 Calorie (Food, like a nutrition label). Note this unit is in the same terms of the Sievert, Joule/kg, but because the Sievert is effective or equivalent dose and not absorbed dose, 1 Gray is not usually ever equal to 1 Sievert unless speaking theoretically using idealized and possibly incredibly abnormal materials.

rad (radiation-absorbed-dose) - is 0.01 Gray, but historically it has been defined as "that amount of neutron radiation which produces an increment in energy in unit volume of tissue equal to the increment of energy produced in unit volume of water by one roentgen of radiation" and as a result there has been a bunch of values between 80-100 erg/g, in air, used at various points. Ultimately the specific. Values values irrelevant because ven knowing them doesnt help conversion ok unlesss you get what the air they used was like to both define the unit and measure their radiation.

Effective dose:

Sievert - this unit is also able to represent a dose of multiple types of radiation exposure in units of absorbed energy like Gray, say both alpha and beta, in terms of some effective dose exposure that uses a common graduation between all types of radiation. 1 Sv effective dose of one radiation type is equal to 1 Sv of effective dose for all radiation types, so long as you are dosed to the whole body evenly. 1 Bq of each of the types of radiation results in different amounts of energy being absorbed upon ionizing the same target, so as a result we need to look at relative comparisons or applications using the Sievert to make the radiations effectively combined for our calculations. A fast helium nucleus is just more energetic than a slow electron, and as such the effective dose units can convert radiation type to type while it is cooperatively graded and effectively weighted to allow a valid total effective dose to be generated from many different types of exposure.

Scintillation frequency/activity/decay rate:

Becquerel - nuclear decays/second (including alpha, beta, gamma and neutron so long as we can't find more).

Rutheford - special unit that just means 1,000,000 Becquerel aka 1 MBq.

Curie - measured "radium emissions" per second such that 1 Curie equaled the number of emissions which a gram of Radium would emit in the same time period, which is a terrible unit because it doesn't specify duration and because decays occur at random so the unit is standardized to a fluctuating value; thankfully it currently is defined in terms of Bq, but theres no way to know exactly what a Curie equals historically without knowing what kind of "Radium emission" rate they used, so for this channel if it's aeeevent old enough to use Curies it's probably only logical to keep it in the unit of the Curie. An additional side note is that Radium emits only alpha, beta and gamma in the known isotopes, and emits primarily alpha as the natural form (mostly Radium-226), so technically the historical Curie can't possibly count neutron events like the Becquerel does, as a neutron decay can't be a "radium emission".

So, to be clear, you cant just take 1 R to 1 Sv effective unless you know what type of ray, X or Gamma, produced the electric charge. You cant convert 1 Curie at all unless you make the same compromise the standardizers did and assume an average Radium decay rate in Becquerel. You cant convert 1 Bq to Gy and then to Sv without assumptions or actually being provided the needed information. You can't tell an exact Bq value to its value as an equivalent dose in Sv without knowing duration, distance, shielding, the type of tissue absorption occurred in, etc.. Radiation units, whether you are using SI units, CSG units, or US customary units, are a nightmare to convert, and you generally can't accurately convert at all. It's actually so confusing that if I tell you "1 Sv was calculated for the scientist's limb, 5 feet from the source", you can't even tell how bad of a dose that is or anything else without assuming if it is effective or equivalent dosage. Honestly it could be a good idea, if we know the needed data about the specifics of the measured radiation scenario, to always convert to the SI unit that measures the same things as the historical unit, but even then unless the records tell you the precise constants they used to define the units, you still have the same accuracy loss in cases where there is no clear way to know what the value of their rad or "radium emmissions equivalency rate" was, for example. This type of nonsense is why the SI base units are all moving to physical constants of nature, to help at make our units accurate. The natural constants suffer from experimental precision issues, but so does any real world value.
