I am not allowed to indulge in ANY OG Destiny content lest I be pushed to ignore cringe culture and make an entire destiny au for p5 for the sole purpose of putting them through the vault of glass and oryx raid aka the most memorable raids ive played in any fucking game
#this means nothing to anyone but#i am saddled w memories of clearing these two raids w my friends#and the crota raid#like destiny 2 just couldnt compare to the OVERWHELMING relief of clearing those specific raids#vog was the og but like it was sooooo good#really carried the horror aspect of the vex and darkness so well#the oracles??? the shield that cleanses everyone??? the tight knit teamwork needed to keep everyone alive??#the responsibilty of being the shieldbearer; ur teams life is in ur hands#going into the fucking gorgon maze???? the first couple runs were SO scary on hard mode#just in general; the feeling of being so absolutely foreign in a place not meant for u#the core of ur being (light) being threatened at all times#the fucking portals for the atheon fight????#‘marked by the void’ aka u go fucking BLIND w darkness and u need help to cleanse it#knowing that on hard mode (no revivals) u could get trapped in the portal world blinded and alone and die in there?? like#ugh#and the pacing was so good#things you could figure out as a team together wo needing guides#not too complicated#and the teamwork didnt feel like a burden it felt good !#i distinctly remember me getting stuck in the mars portal bc my teammate THOUGHT i got through with him#and they had to guide me to the exit bc i LITERALLY couldnt see anything on screen#like#there was so much potential to really nail down how scary some of this shit was#and then destiny 2 came out…
