I think actually human existence relies on the brain's inability to realize either the entirety of every problem and piece of suffering across one's entire lifetime, OR the entirety of every feeling of joy and friendship across one's entire lifetime. Maybe it's just me being bad at processing emotions in high volume but I feel like we wouldn't even have to behold Cthulhu or understand everything a higher being knows or whatever to experience eldritch insanity. All we'd have to do is suddenly gain the ability to remember all of our memories accurately and at the same time and we'd start bleeding from the eyes. the human experience is just. So Much

#voidrambles #now imagining the Thematic Vibes of a character dying because every positive memory was unlocked for them at once in full and it just like #sent them into shock #the intensity alone enough to take it from heaven to horror #.... that sounds like the likely result of one of those botched demon contract tropes actually #the character asking for that and receiving it but not realizing that #their brain was literally not biologically equipped to handle that much even ''positive'' feeling at once #killed just because they wanted to take it all and hold it close but they underestimated #the fragility of the mind and the magnitude of their own accumulated joy #this is giving me an Indescribable Feeling #mmmmmm #i think. a normal amount about memory and emotion and my relationship to both as a Very Easy To Overwhelm Person #who also #wants so badly for every moment to keep its sharpness perfectly and stay with me forever within arms reach
