Movie #2 of 2024: The Bricklayer

All of these John Wick rip offs have titles that begin with "B". Ron Perlman has The Baker (not bad actually), Aaron Eckhardt has this.... streaming content, and of course the king of b-action movie stars Jason Statham has The Beekeeper. The "B" Keeper? Because b-action movies! Get it?

Here's my Jason Stathm b-movie pitch: Bill works as an uber driver in Las Vegas with a mysterious past. At first you think it's a Transporter remake but no: in his spare time he hunts down balloon factory thieves who often target his uncle's balloon factory in Henderson. So sometimes he has to take time off from work to chase balloon thieves on his uncle's balloon interceptor. They can't really go that fast because, well, they're piloting slow ass balloons. The tension is palpable!

Sometimes Jason has to walk briskly on the ground to keep up with the fleeing balloon pirates. And he threatens them by first huffing helium and then yelling in a high pitched helium inflected voice.

And Bill has a thing where he's always making balloon animals because he wanted to be a clown growing up. And that dream was... ahem... deflated, when he failed out of clown school for not being funny. At all.

It's called The Balloonist.
