I feel like my inability to dnf a book is related to the way I clung to a relationship that made me miserable most of the time
Maybe that sounds stupid but I mean, about both I would think "I'm not enjoying this, this sucks.. but I bet if I just push through, eventually it'll get better and there's gonna be something great on the other side and it'll all be worth it!" so...
Anyways, I made it a little goal for myself this year to dnf a book, as a little test to see if I've grown past such things, and I've already done it!
#testing such growth in a relationship is still a ways off lol#im quite enjoying being alone#but also#my experience in relationships has not given me reason to believe it is worth giving up what i have now#idk#mainly im afraid of how sex will make me feel#because it has not made me feel good very often#anyways...#the book i dnf is the whispers of the fallen#the book that haunts me bc i refused to dnf it when i really should have is struck by lightning iirc#read it in high school and was miserable for a week bc the mc was so loathsome and having him in my life like that was miserable#but i pushed on#surely there would be phenomenal character development#or he would get what was coming to him#but no#it was so unsatisfactory#complete waste of time#worst book ive ever read
