Me: I don’t really like wearing dressy clothing, I hate clothes shopping, I don’t like putting effort into my appearance-

*finds dressy clothing that doesn’t hurt to wear, finds clothes that fit me on an online store with exact sizing measurements, finds little ways to put effort in my appearance that doesn’t require makeup or other painful things*

Me: …ohhhhh. it was the sensory issues.

#turns out I do actually like dressing up lol #I just like doing it in a way that I have agency over #and that doesn’t hurt #wild how that works out #the amount of sheer euphoria over having agency over my appearance and putting effort into it #without critique of ‘oh you need to shave to wear that’ or ‘those patterns don’t go together’#or being heavily encouraged to do or wear things that physically hurt #is INSANE #and I get compliments! clearly other ppl don’t think what I wear looks bad!#and I don’t need to wear nylons or nail polish or makeup to do it #I’m not hiding anything
