I saw a bunch of humans are space orcs, and humans are feared by aliens, etc. and want to add to it.
Kid centre for all alien children/younglings run by humans.
-"Human Kim! Are you all right? Do you seek medical aid??"
"I'm okay! ...why do you ask?"
"You just got bit by Zyz! I'm so sorry, I've told him to not do that with others but-!"
"Hey, it's okay. Look, these things happen and I know that's just your species' way of showing affection. Just tell him to ask next time and to not bite too hard."
"... 'these things happen' .... 'tell him to ask next- human Kim has this happened to you before?!"
"Oh lots of times! I used to work at a daycare on earth before this. Now, you wanna talk about bites let me tell you about Penny, she was a biter. So was my nephew but that was him stimming. I just asked that he get my attention first so as to not startle me."
"Is this the same Penee who gave you 3 stitches?"
"Yep."
-"Human Kim, thank you for helping Pollix become comrades with the other younglings! May I ask how you did it so I may use it in the future?"
"Of course! It wasn't anything special really, we just wrestled which caught the attention of the other kids and soon enough they were cheering for Pollix to win. Then after that Xw and a few others asked Pollix to teach her how to wrestle as well." they finished with a smile.
"YOU WHAT!"
"I-I thought play wrestling and fighting was encouraged among young tighalax. I am so sorry if I did something wrong-!"
"Human Kim, you could have DIED."
"...huh?"
"Tighalaxes have what you call drugs in the points of our tails and one cut should drive you insane. Not only that but we, as younglings, should be nearly twice your body weight. And at this age have yet to control our strength!"
"Ooh so that's why I felt high! Phew! I thought I accidentally ate my weed muffin instead of the regular one, and we can't have that."
"You felt 'high'?"
"Yeah but only for 10 minutes, luckily I usually just get tired and relaxed when high. And for the weight strength part, I grew up babysitting all of my younger siblings and cousins. My child carrying records are 5 4-6 year olds, 4 7-12 year olds, 3 teenagers, and 2 childish giants who are somehow 21 this year."
"...any chance I can bribe you to quit and come work for me and my pack?"

Injuries and a ship invasion, no one dies
"Why do they let humans take care of our younglings? If it hadn't been for the coalition then it would've been another century till they realize our existence. Their senses have dulled to the point where its laughable that they are the dominating species of their planet. And lets not forget the fact that they're at constant war with each other over the most stupidest things, color of skin, where one lives, who they love, what they believe, etc."
"Calis stop it! Your being a xenophobe. And while some of that is true you should know by now that the humans care deeply for our children."
"I am simply being concerned parent who worries for their young's safety and well-being...we are in a dangerous area right now, the middle of a war zone, and it would make me feel safer if we had some others at the care centre till reinforcements arrive."
"Trust me my brightest, the humans will do everything they can to ensure the safety of our Dali...and knowing them they'll likely surprise you and live up to their reputation."
"...fine, fine, I apologize, you are right. The humans have surprised me so far, what's one more?"
.
..
...
....
"WHERE IS DALI?! WHERE IS MY YOUNGLING CAPTAIN!"
"Calis calm down! Your arm!"
"NO! YOU DON'T GET TO TELL ME TO CALM DOWN WHEN ENEMY FORCES HAVE INVADED OUR SHIP AND NONE OF US CAN FIND OUR YOUNG!!"
"Calis, your hurt and so is your partner. Think of Gala, they need you right now."
"...Gala is hurt because they were looking for Dali. They got shot because they were heading to the centre...I have to find Dali. For Gala, Captain."
"I'm sure that Kim and Max are doing everything they can to keep them safe."
"With all do respect Captain, how could 2 unarmed humans survive what our force couldn't."
"...I don't know but its probably going to be one hell of a story we'll be telling for the ages. Now go get your arm treated. That's an order."
.
..
...
....
"WE FOUND THEM!"
"CAPTAIN WE FOUND THE YOUNGLINGS!"
"WE NEED A CRANK AND SEND EVERY AVAILABLE MEDIC!"
"oh great stars please no...nonononono DALI!" the Delzah rushed forward, breaking through the search party, only to be stopped by their captain.
"Calis...you have to let them do their job. We, we just have to hope." he could not help the hitch in his breath. Hoping, praying, that his own child was okay underneath the wreckage that was once the youngling care centre.
They fight and thrash until eventually grief overtakes them. They collapse into the captain's arms wailing.
"...what hope do I have that my child is alive under all that rubble. Captain...the only hope I have is that they died quick and that they are with the stars now..."
"Oh Calis..." he sobs. He knows it. There was hardly a chance that anyone was still alive underneath there. Only the strongest younglings who were from a strong species may survive and his child was not one of those few. They were strong but his child was like him...a runt, the joke of the family. Too small, too weak, too soft. She was surely dead...why couldn't it have been him?
"MAPA!"
"PAPA!"
One by one, children emerge from an opening made in the rubble, and at the front of them was Dali and a small feline like child.
"my glorious star" flinging themself from the Captain Calis dragged themself to meet Dali who leaped into their Mapa's arms.
The captain was not too far behind, running to his daughter and cradling her close. Words were not exchanged but Calis could feel the vibrations coming from their purrs.
"See...I told you they would be waiting..."
last to emerge from the rubble was the humans, carried out on stretchers. Only one was conscious. Glass glittered from their skin, dirt and dust blended with vibrant red blood, staining their white bandages, and a rebar was poking out of the unconscious one's side.
"You...got everyone right?"
"Yes, human Max."
"Good...that's good..." and finally did they lose consciousness.
.
..
...
....
"Apparently they covered the windows and hid the kids in the storage room, putting them to the farthest corner while they formed a human wall in front of the door.
When those quiznaking bastards couldn't break down the door they rigged the centre with explosives. Lucky for us the humans personally requested that the storage room be made durable for the equivalent of their disasters on earth so it held up decently well."
"But how did they get so injured?"
"Decently well, meaning the room wasn't completely stable. Eventually the walls started to give and the humans had to improvise by becoming the new pillars. They took shifts until they both had to hold up the weight for what the kids guess to be 3 hours...imagine holding up all of that weight until you were on your hands and knees with rebars, broken glass, and debris piercing into your body."
"...Gala said that Human Max nearly flatlined and Human Kim needed 2 liters of blood."
"You seem confused."
"...Humans are impressive but how did they do all of that? They were already injured and yet managed to hold up a collapsed ceiling for hours until help arrived, I thought they were completely average and even weaker than us."
"Apparently when their loved ones, especially children, are in danger they tap into their more primal instincts. Allowing them to withstand a shot to the side, a slab of concrete to the head, and hours of keeping a ceiling from collapsing until they know everyone is safe.
Heard a story of a human who died only after he saw his kids was safe from a fire."
"Looks like Gala was right. Humans have surprised me once again."

another humans are space orcs/humans are space oddities who run a care centre for alien younglings
"Excuse me, caretaker Kim?"
"Yes Tarlak?"
"Can Mira spend a night cycle at my home?"
"Uhhh, your gonna have to ask her parents for that. Do you want me to ask them for you?"
"Are you not one of her parents?"
"No..? What gave you that idea?"
"Because she has called you 'mama' 3 times before. As have Fredric, Yasmine, and several other human children...except for Danny...he called you 'papa'."
"Oooh, right, right, uh I'm actually not anyone's parent."
"...then why do they call you that? It does not make sense."
"Well, as you know, humans can form connections with just about anyone and sometimes those connections resemble the ones we have with our family members. So when kids call me mom or sometimes dad even, it's because I remind them of that parent."
"Remind? But you look nothing like Mira's mom."
"Yeah, but I remind her of how she feels with her mom. Does that make sense?"
"Yes, that is understood. Thank you for explaining this to me *whistle chirp*"
"Yeah no problem. Wish I could whistle like that."
A few days later...
"Kim!"
"Oh, hey Max!"
"How did you and every other parent...become a thing?"
"I'm sorry what now???"
"Look, I know you guys have been pretty quiet about it but, come on. Having the kids call you mom or the equivalent of mom in public? Pretty obvious buddy."
"...is that what they've been calling me?"
"You didn't know? How did you not know?? See this is why you should have taken linguistics with me...wait does this mean your not dating every other parent?"
"Max, the fact that you think I have that much game is the most flattering thing anyone has ever thought of me."

"Okay everyone floor is lava in 10..."
children scatter across the in door park.
"9..."
some leap onto nearby benches. Others climb nearby trees.
"8...7..."
the nearby safe spots become too crowded. Some force their way in while others sprint for the only place with enough room for the remaining few. The water fountain.
"6...5..."
the fountain can hold them all but is far. The slow one's won't make it.
"3...2...1..."
Some of the strong ones carry the slowest. their kindness is their downfall.
"FLOOR IS LAVA!!"
the lava takes them.
"Okay everyone on the ground is out!"
*chorus of groaning*
"So we have, 1, 2, 3...8...11...wait. Everyone hold still for a sec." the human recounts the children. And then again. And again.
"Where's Piper?"
"She was running that way!"
"Yeah towards the field!"
"The field? But there's nothing to climb there.."
"Is the floor still lava!?!"
Out in the field is Piper, sitting on top of her other teacher Kim's shoulders.
"Piper your out, you know the rules. You can't ask someone to carry you when the floor is lava."
"I didn't carry her."
"Kim no fibbing. Kids don't like it when it comes to floor is lava."
"No really I didn't. She climbed me," the woman picks the girl off her and put her down "show them Piper."
The 7 year old smiles and goes behind Kim and then starts to climb. Using the adults calves as a step she boosts her other foot to Kim's hip and then latches onto her neck with her arms. From their she shimmies herself onto her teacher's shoulders. All while Kim keeps her arms to her sides.
"...how long has she been able to do this?"
"Since yesterday."
"That's really cool."
"I know, right?"
.
..
...
"Human Kim I'd like to ask you a question about...human children."
"Yeah sure, go ahead."
"So as you know I am courting Morgan, who has 2 children, and I was wondering if it's normal for them at their age to not be able to climb me or him?"
"Climb you?"
"Yes, like that human child with blonde hair. Harrison is about her age yet he can't climb us like she can climb you."
"...Ohhh, yeah that's not a normal thing."
"Really?? But she does it with such ease and you look so, so, used to it. As if it was normal behavior."
"Piper is incredibly flexible and strong for her age, and while yes I am used to it that's because I'm used to kids climbing me while I'm sitting or helping them."
"So human children do climb their caretakers?"
"Yes."
"But Piper's climbing is not normal?"
"...yes. Wait. Hold on...So human children do climb on their family members but most of them can't climb to an adult's shoulders like that without help. Only a few like Piper are strong enough to do that."
"Ah. So I should not be concerned that Morgan's children can't do that?"
"No, you should not."
"Okay then. Humans are strange."
"That they are!"

"Human Max?"
"Mmyesh?"
"Why'd you ruffle my feathers?"
"Oh, I used to do that to your sister when she came here. I won't do it anymore if you don't like it though."
"No. I liked it. It was kinda like when Mom and Dad clean my feathers. Tickly and scratchy."
"Well that's good."
"...Human Max?"
"Yes?"
"Why did you ruffle Salia's feathers?"
"Hmmmm, Iiiiiii don't know. I just did it without thinking."
"Why?"
"Maybe because my family did that to me when I was a kid and so I wanted to continue that with you kids."
"Why?"
"Why I wanted to continue it or why my family did that to me?"
"Both!"
"Emira why do you do this to me. Oookay! Lemme think for a sec" they said while thinking of an answer to hopefully prevent the why apocalypse.
"Uhhh-I think it's because humans just like physical touch from people we like, love and care about...Yeah! In fact, if we don't get enough we get touch-starved."
"This sounds like a trick."
"Would I ever trick you?"
"Yes, you said that humans will die from loudness to keep us from screaming too much."
"...you got me there but I promise you I am not lying."
"...you really get 'starved' if you don't get touched enough?"
"Erm, by 'touched' I mean hugged, high-fived, hand-holding, head pats, stuff like that. Not something that sounds like the start of a dirty joke..."
Few days later~~~
"Max! Get in here! Now!
"What?! Did someone get hurt?! Did Qiqi eat glue again???"
"Look."
Max finally came around the corner and saw the other human trapped in the most adorable way ever imaginable. Younglings hugged and clung to Kim like they were a lifesaver in a terrible storm. Legs were trapped and sat on, weighted to the ground by children. Waist and torso were covered by living backpacks/frontpacks. Arms shaking while trying to hold the younglings in their arms while steadying the ones clambering on their shoulders.
"Help. Me."
"Let me get my phone I need this as my new wallpaper."
"Max! I'm seriously about to crush like 10 kids with my fat arse if I don't stand properly in the next 10 seconds."
"Got it, can't have you manslaughter children. Hug time's over kids, off of Kim."
"But Maxie if we do then Kim will die!"
"Marl for the 5th time I'm not dying."
"But your starving!"
"Sweetheart please, I am most defiantly not starving."
"Emira said so tho!"
"Yeah! You were stuck in your room for days with no one to hug you! And Max told me that if humans don't get enough hugs or pats you'll starve!!" her beak quivered, eyes starting to get glassy.
"Oooh, Emira, kids, Kim is fine. Yes no one was there to give Kim hugs but she's fine. For a human to starve for hugs will take some time, and Kim wasn't gone for that long."
"Really?"
"Really, besides I was there to give her soup and high-fives so she wouldn't get lonely."
"...can we still hug you for a bit longer?"
"Of course, but let me sit down so I don't fall down."
The younglings clamber of her and allow the human to sit and then climb back ontop her. Noting how not everyone got to hug Kim, Max came in and together the humans were trapped by a mesh of children clinging tightly to their favorite humans.
"Max."
"Yeah Kim."
"As punishment for what happened your buying lunch...and carrying me to lunch cause my legs are in a coma right now."
"Fair enough."

"Human Max and Kim?"
"Yeah?"
"There is something that has been on my mind for quite some time now, a question about your work."
"Okay shoot."
"..."
"She means ask away."
"Ah. Yes, well. I was wondering how you two knew to train before coming to work here? As I was under the impression you both joined shortly after the coalition made contact with Earth."
"Train?"
"You mean for taking care of younglings?"
"Yes human Max."
"We didn't. We just used the training we already had and then learned on the job about the finer details."
"What she said. Although we did need to take some first aide courses before opening."
"...come again?"
"We barely had information of other species so we mostly relied on the training and teachings we received at home, Earth."
"Don't worry we took some night classes later on to be more prepared later on."
"How later is 'later on'?"
"About a month."
"...you seem really confused about this."
"That is because I am. . .how were you able to tolerate the biting then? Or the vast difference in height and weight from some of the larger ones? Or keep up with the fast ones?"
"Oh I was bit all the time at home. Both at work and at home."
"I just like running so it's not that hard for me. Kim still struggles though."
"I have tiny legs you jerk."
"But the strength and weight of some of them..."
"Oh right, on Earth you have to be able to lift at least 50 pounds to go into childcare."
"I thought it was 50 kilos..."
"...but that's like a hundred pounds...wait.."
"You have to be able to lift 50-100 pounds with ease!"
"...How heavy are your children?"
"Between 50-100 pounds."

Kim and Max and the adventures of running an alien child care centre
"Human Max I'd like you to meet Ezshi, they will be joining you soon in the youngling centre."
"Oh hey there buddy, nice to meet you!"
"Now, what do we say Ezshi?"
*croc sounding hissing and snarling*
"Ezshi! You apologize right this instant!!"
"...oh boy"
days later~
"I don't know what to do! The kid won't stop hissing at me everytime they see me! As soon as they spot me they flare up and won't stop hissing at me, they almost bit me when I tried giving them their chocolate milk!! I don't know how I'll survive this year Kim."
"That's rough buddy," she gives sympathy pats to him. "but why don't you try my method? Y'know, the one I used with my siblings and cousins."
"Kim if I did that I would get fired."
"Yes, in an earth school you would without question buuut...here?"
"...here I wouldn't! Kim you genius!"
later....
"Ah, human Kim, I am here to pick up Ezshi early today. May you point me to them?"
"Yeah sure, right over there with Max." she points to a large crowd of children and parents.
"Thank you Human Kim."
"Of course....maybe I should've stalled them for a bit...shoot."
"Ezshi! Where are you? Ah, there you-- oh my."
In the middle of the crowd is Ezshi and Max both hissing and snarling at each other. The young reptilian slowly advancing towards the human, eyes slitted.
"EZSHI! Youngling you will stop this at--!"
"Wait Mx. Ezshi's Bubba! Maxie is okay, look look!"
"Youngling Human please release your tiny hands off me, I must save your 'Maxee'...huh."
Max advances as well but more predatory like, circling around the youngling until their back hits a table. Jumping onto it thinking it'll make them look more intimidating, Ezshi hisses down at the lowly human. No one interferes, especially the other reptilian and predator like species.
"Okay now here it comes Max, remember not too much spit and be aggressive!"
Back straight, toes pointed, chin up, the young man closes the gap between them with a headbutt while releasing a roar. Silence. Until finally, with eyes dilated, Ezshi chirps and bows their little head.
"Aw, its okay buddy. Now go get your stuff, your Bubba is here."
"Thank you caretaker Maxee! Lets do that again!"
"Human Max how did you know how to assert dominance among my people? Was it Tarlak's family? Tigihalaxes and Repilixes do share similar customs..." they muse.
"Oh it was Kim."
"Yep!"
"And how, may I ask, do you know how to assert dominance among my people Human Kim?"
"My siblings and cousins."
"....you were taught by your human kin?"
"Some of them started to roar and hiss while we goofed around and to make sure they still listened to me while we did this I would 'assert dominance' by doing exactly what Max did."
"I thought humans did not have displays of dominance and that everyone is to be treated equally, like a herd."
"Yes thats right."
"But you just said..."
"Oh that was just us playing around. We still do it every now and then, just over the holidays my little sister and me did the equivalent of the gorlazitics display of dominance."
"For fun??? And not to be the new leader? No one was killed?"
"Save for our mother's opinion of us, no."
"Are you sure you two are herbivores?"
"The proper term is vegetarian, which is what I am, Kim is a pescatarian."
"May the fish forgive me for finding them so delicious in sushi form."

late shift
Shuttle for Mars is departing now. Please keep hands, feet, tails, and other appendages clear of the yellow line.
‘Nice, finally get off work on time for once! Man is it empty, way less busy than the 5:45 one…
Are they sleeping? Please tell me they’re sleeping…’
“Snnrk…”
‘Oh good they are, oooh lots of empty seats next to them! Nice.’
The young human sits across the large figure and looks around.
‘Wonder why everyone else is sitting so far away from this guy? He’s not that much scarier than a Alteauh…OH! He’s an Orc! An actual Orc, oh this is so cool! Wait. Calm down, control yourself. Orc’s are people too, not some exotic animal in a zoo….he’s sooo cool looking tho!’
The human smiles and takes out their headphones and listens to some music and take in the view they see through the shuttle’s windows. From time to time they peek at the orc, can’t helping themselves from people-watching him.
Like what most humans imagined, he was huge. Easily more than 7 feet tall, with large calloused hands bigger than their head. He had large tusks but unlike the stereotypes he was well trimmed with well relatively kept hair. It would have neater had there not been dust in it. The orc wore dirty cloths and work boots. Beside them what looked like a tool box and bag.
‘Must be a construction worker or works in a trade’ they mused
‘Poor guy, he’s gotta be exhausted to sleep here. At least he gets to go home now.’
The shuttle shakes and with it so does the sleeping giant. Rocking side to side.
'That's not good.' They nervously slide off their headphones.
The turbulence increases until the sleeping orc leans too far and starts fall face first off his seat.
“OH SHIT!” Diving to their knees they manage to catch his head and shoulders.
“Mm?”
“You okay?” Damn he's heavy!
“Mmm…sorry.” Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he slowly got back into his seat, the turbulence now gone.
“No worries, I just didn’t want you to hit your head.”
“Heh, wouldn't be the first time I’ve done it.”
after rubbing his eyes a bit more and a crack of the neck he looks at them, brain finally working to some degree.
“…wait. You caught me?”
“Uh-huh”
“But you’re so small! Are you hurt?”
“You're not the first sleeping giant I’ve caught. I’m alright.”
“I am so sorry for that. I just finished working a 12 hour shift fixing the 1st and 3rd engine rooms and couldn’t help myself from dozing off.”
They whistle. “12 hours? No wonder you’re tired! If I were you I’d be in a coma.”
“Ah but surely you have a difficult job yourself. How else would you be able to catch me?”
“No, nothing like yours! I just work at a youngling centre.”
“The one on the ship?”
“That’s the one.”
“...YOUR ONE OF THE BRAVE WARRIORS WHO RISKED THEIR LIVES TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN??!”
“…you’ve heard of us?”
“Every orc and warrior worth their blade knows of your valiant deeds!! Tell me, what is your name??”
“Kim, uh and you are?”
“Fenrir. It is truly an honor to meet someone of your bravery and intelligence."
"Likewise! I've heard that the orc species are a true warrior race."
For the rest of the trip the two talked. Kim sharing how her and Max built such a safe room in the centre, which lead to the two realizing how similar each other's planets are.
"You have wind whirlpools as well? I thought they only existed on Bantor!"
"Well we call them hurricanes and tornadoes but yeah. Do you guys have hail?"
"Not where I grew up but nearby farther up they get a week or two of light hail showers during the fall. What about animals? Do you have reptiles bigger than an adult with large teeth and live in rivers? We call them darthrang."
"Oh we call them crocodiles!"
"Amazing! To think that your species live in a world much like mine!"
When the shuttle finally reached it's destination the two went their separate ways. A few days later they meet again, this time on the later shuttle. They sit and talk and create a routine of sorts where they became each others travelling companion for the trip to Mars.
One day however, Fenrir stopped coming. The human was saddened as she enjoyed his company but was soon surprised when seeing him at the centre.
"Kim! I've been transferred to stay on the ship so I won't be taking the shuttle to Mars anymore."
"Oh...well, as you know I only go home at the end of the week so maybe we can hang out now. Like eat lunch together or have a drink after work...or something like that!"
"Actually we'll be seeing each other everyday now. But if you don't get sick of me then yes, lets each lunch together."
"Great! But why will I be seeing you everyday?"
"Because after telling my family about you and the centre they've enrolled my nieces and nephews and younger siblings here...and I offered to drop them off and pick them up."
It was then that Kim noticed the dozen of orc children hiding behind Fenrir. The tallest and what looked the eldest of them stepped forward.
"Hello, I am Athea, uncle Fenrir said your one of the ones who saved the centre."
"Yes, my name is Kim. It's great to meet you AtheaaAA!" The orc girl pulled the human into a tight hug, lifting the adult woman off of her feet.
"Thank you for saving Nova." she mumbled into her chest.
'Ah, the Captain's daughter' Kim thought. "I was just doing what any teacher would do."
After a moment the human was put down and lead the children into the centre. The day went well. Fenrir's young family members were quickly won over by the humans, first with the saving of the centre, then with how they understood how wonderful their planet was rather than terrifying or deadly.
They were also greatly intrigued by how such a small species could survive in a planet that was thought to only be habitable to orcs.
"How can you carry us?" asked Thor, one of Fenrir's youngest brothers. "We're much bigger than a human child."
"Yeah but your not bigger than my cousins who are teenagers. Also just last month I had like 10 kids climbing on me. Two were tighalaxes."
"Your joking!"
...
"It that tumpon?!"
"Hm? We call it maafe, but it's also known as peanut stew, do you want some? It doesn't have any meat in it though."
"Guys Max has tumpon!! Can you tell Fenrir where we can buy the ingredients?"
"Of course. Finally I'll finish what gran gave me without having to gain 10 pounds."
And thus the first day ended on a high note! Now if only Kim could figure out why the children looked at her and nodded while talking to Fenrir...
So this based off of a post by @llamagoddessofficial about humans meeting actual space orcs. Sadly I can't find the actual post. but yeah, here u go, space orc and human meet cute

grandma said
"I wonder what's taking Max so long?" mumbled the human, waiting with several younglings and children for the other human to come so that they can leave the centre.
"Kim can we go now?"
"Not until Max and Ezshi come."
"But Ezshi takes light years to get ready~" whined the child.
"I know but--"
A wail like no other echoed throughout the halls. The screams bounced off the walls into the human's body, from their heart to their skull they felt the vibrations of the child.
"Cover your ears and stay here!" they said before sprinting inside the classroom.
The wailing grew the closer they got to the source which was little Ezshi who was being comforted by the other human.
"What happened?!" even at Kim's loudest her yells were easily drowned out the reptilian's wails and cries.
Max pointed at the youngling and she looked down to see their tail swollen and slightly discolored. He then drew her attention to the door leading outside of the centre.
Ah shit it had to be the tail. As younglings Caimunes had incredibly sensitive tails as they were still developing the necessary healing abilities to allow them to regrow them.
'Anyting I can do?' she texted.
'Just take the others to the garden without us. Ezshi' cries r probably hurting some of their ears. Text management to send over a sub in my place and close the door to muffle the noise.'
'K, gud luck' and with that she left leading the younglings far away from the pained wails.
.
..
...
What the hell do I do!? They don't want an ice pack or a cold cloth or me to even breath on it and it'll be at least another 15 minutes till Eza get's here...
The poor human had spent the last 15 minutes trying to comfort and help the youngling to no avail. He tried applying first aid but Ezshi wailed even louder at the thought of anything touching their tail. The human then tried soothing them with words and rubbing circles on their back but that had only worked for mere seconds at a time.
So far the only thing he managed to do was give them a pillow to sit on and reassure them that their Bubba was coming as fast as they can.
A Caimunes tail is the most sensitive body part, equivalent to a human's fingers or toes...think think think. This isn't that far from when I slammed my finger in the closet door so what was done to help me?
He cried; just like Ezshi. He didn't want anyone to touch it; just like Ezshi. He calmed down but that was because he trusted his parents when they put his hand under cold water.
There has to be something...
"Oh." and Ezshi whimpered for the human had gotten up and went to the small kitchen they had.
*wHinNE*
"Don't worry I'm coming back buddy. I just remembered something that could help. Something my Grandma once said." they opened the top cupboard and came back with a small bag.
"Now don't tell anyone about this because this is for next week," he took out a small wrapped upped square and began to open it, "but my Grandma said that it's harder to be sad when eating something sweet so we're going to give it a try." he placed the small smooth square into the youngling's claw.
They sniffed it then plopped it into their mouth. It was strange to them. It was hard but then chewy and sticky. Sweet but tangy.
"It's called a Starburst. A candy from Earth."
The youngling started to cry once again but to the human's relief it was a much quieter cry.
"What does it taste like?"
"...*whimper*"
"Is it sweet?"
Nod*
"Kinda tangy?"
Shake*
A little sour?"
Shake*
"Just sweet?"
Nod*
"Huh, usually I find that flavor to be a little tangy. It's cherry by the way."
"...can I have another one?"
"Of course."
They sat like that until Eza came. Max fed Ezshi different flavors and asked them questions about the flavor until he had them try and guess which flavor they were eating. By then the cries were far and few between one another.
Later when the Caimunes had left the human was contacted by the med bay about a hearing test as 90% of those who hear a youngling Caimun wail go deaf. Max was ultimately fine and actually found the experience interesting as he had experienced a full inner/outer body vibration from the soundwaves coming from Ezshi

Pollix lazed on the beanbag in the reading area. The passing sun shining just so perfectly on the young tighalax. He rolled onto his stomach and kneaded the carpet below when he spotted something or rather someone.
Nova. The ship Captain's daughter and fellow tighalax is currently stalking something.
'It's like watching a newborn cub walking for the first time. She'd be the runt of any tighalax pack in the galaxy.'
Pollix really had nothing against the smaller cub but he just couldn't help himself from teasing and poking fun at her every now and then.
'She's 6 moons older than me but half my size! She's like one of those stuffies we have in the toy bin.' he giggled to himself.
Intrigued by what she was doing he looks to see what her target is.
His ears perk as does his posture.
Kim. One of their human caretakers/teachers. Currently cleaning up some blocks on the ground. Completely unaware of the small feline-like creature.
She pounces. The prey is caught. Sent tumbling to it's side, shrieking with laughter.
A successful hunt shrieks Athea also watching the "hunt".
'A successful hunt? Pfft, I get that they're comrades but how could Athea call that a hunt?' for Nova's hunt was something to be expected of when one was a fresh cub. To celebrate a hunt like this when you were 7 summers old? Unheard of.
But runts do take longer since they're often too weak for some summers to do this type of thing, he concluded.
Still, at their age they should be hunting prey that's much bigger than Kim. Something around Max's size.
"Pollix! I caught Kim, did you see?"
"I saw...you were very quiet. But remember to use what's around you. Like you could have hide behind the bookshelf to get even closer."
"Oh. That's so smart! Thanks Pollix, I'm going to practice on Kim again."
"Mmmm." he curled back onto the bean bag.
"Not impressed?"
"Your blocking the sun Athea," he whined looking up at the orc. "But no not really. I mean Kim is strong I guess but she's a human."
"What. Humans are strong, sometimes stronger than other apex species like us." Pollix scoffs
"Yeah but I knocked her down like a million times when we wrestled! So Nova's probably going to be able to knock her over at least once, or maybe Kim just let her." he finished as an afterthought.
"...Okay so maybe she let Nova knock her over but what if she also let you knock her over?"
<If there's one thing many know about Tighalaxes it's that they are very prideful of their hunts and wins. And to diminish said hunts and wins is to question their skills as a hunter. The fastest and easiest way to tick them off>
The cub puffs his fur and flicks his tail around angrily.
"Nu-uh."
"Yu-huh."
"No. I knocked her over because I'm stronger than her!"
"And so did Nova. So I guess Nova is also strong." she stares at him.
<Now for Orcs, what they're known for is their undying loyalty. Should you belittle or badmouth an Orc's friend within earshot of them be prepared for an argument or a swift blow to the face. Depends on the situation>
The young orc straightens to her full height while keeping her gaze with the tighalax cub. Who in return get's up and rises to his full height as well.
Standing at 5 feet tall both are easily larger than most other youngling species their age. Only 5 inches shy of their teacher Kim.
Only at the age 6.
"Why don't you try to tackle her?"
Startled they stop sizing each other up and turn to the human who managed sneak up on them.
Jasper. A human child their age. Almost a foot smaller than them.
"I do it all the time. It's fun and I get to see how strong I am by how much I can make Kim move!" he exclaims, "One time I managed to make her take a step."
"That could work."
"Huh?"
"If you can tackle Kim then I'll apologize and take it back. If you can't then that means that Nova is strong too."
"Alright. But I'm doing it the proper way. Not when she's crouched down. That'd be too easy."
"Whatever."
..
'A real hunter should rely on their strength and instincts. Not just hiding and sneak attacks.'
He stalks towards Kim who's standing in the middle of the room doing a head count.
He picks up the pace. Her back is still to him.
He's broken into a run now. Normally he should wait till he's closer but he's just trying to tackle her so it's fine. She hears him.
He's at full speed and mere seconds away. Athea will be saying sorry to him very soon. She turns sideways and widens her feet.
He lunges. She's smiling.
To Athea and everyone else watching it was like watching a bouncy ball hit a wall. The cub made impact only to bounce off the human onto the floor.
"OH SHOOT!" Kim picks him and sets him on his back paws. "Are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't think you'd bounce like that."
"..." could she always pick him up that easily?
"You look okay, Pollix are you hurt anywhere?" he shakes his head.
"Well that's good. Sorry about that buddy," she chuckles. "I thought since your a lot bigger than Jasper and Nova that you'd be fine. Here, let me go get you a starburst for the great effort."
"Wow Pollix! You made her actually get ready for it. I never did that. You really are strong." exclaims Nova. Eyes sparkling with awe.
"I, I just bounced off her. Like a bug."
"Yep." Athea pats her friend on the shoulder.
"...Nova you did a great job with your hunt. It was awesome."
"Aw, thanks Pol."
"I wonder if I could tackle her? I am heavier than you."
"Yeah you are pretty fat."
"Fat so I can crush you."
"You two are weird friends." sighs Nova.

"You said you'd be better after the Tri-Eclipse festival, when we all come back from vacation."
"Yeah that's right."
"Will you promise me that you'll run with me when we get back?"
"...I'll do my best. Yeah. I'll do my best buddy."
.
"Max when we get back after the holidays will you run with me?"
"Yeah. I'll start training, practice running."
"Oh yeah, cause it's been a long time since you ran."
"Yeah...almost 2 months...wow."
..
"Got any plans for the 2 weeks we get off?"
"Yeah I'm gonna train."
"Train for what?"
"Running. I told the kids I'd run with them when we get back."
"Aww that's cute. But yeah you need to test things out right? Start off slow so as to not overdue it when you play with them again."
"Yeah...wanna hear something funny?"
"Sure."
"I, I miss running. I know I said I hate running and that I only ran with the kids because it's good exercise but...I miss it." he puts down his fork. Staring at his plate of food from the ship's cafeteria. He continues.
"I had a dream last night. I was on Earth, in a field of tall grass and flowers, it was summer. The sun was shining, a beautiful warmth on my skin, with a cool gentle breeze on my skin. I was barefoot. I could run and I ran for miles. I ran even after my lungs were on fire, even when the sun went down...I miss running."
"Mmm"
...
Going on field trip. Yanosh came early so we took the noon shuttle. Come as soon as you can. Shuttle A-11.
'I didn't know we had a field trip today.' he thought after reading the text Kim sent.
He grabbed his hoodie and the other emergency bag and made his way to the shuttles. Luckily the A-11 was an express and he would be wherever it was going in 20 minutes.
12 minutes into the ride he noticed that they were approaching Earth.
....
Turn left in 200 meters...You have reached your destination.
"...ha haha hahahahaha! Are you guys serious?!"
"Surprise Max!!"
In front of the young man was his class of youngling alien children (with a handful of humans ones), co-worker and friend. Standing in a field of tall grass and flowers. Yanosh and Kim held a banner saying congratulations.
"I know you've been training in the gym but I thought you'd want your first real run to be somewhere...special."
He scooped his friend into a hug. Then pulled in the children until they were all sent crashing down into a pile full of laughter and giggles.
"You ready?"
"Yeah, yeah definitely!"
"READY KIDS?!"
"YEAH!"
"LET'S GOOO!"
And for the first time in 2 months human Max ran. Past the slowest ones first. He tried to pat every one of them on the head as he flew bye. Broke through the pack of the average runners. A laugh trailed behind him. One by one surpassed the faster one's. His unused lungs somehow allowing him to whoop in-between pants.
He raced every child. Played every game he could not play before. Carried those who longed to be carried again. He ran despite the burning in his lungs and the sweat in his eyes. He ran through the pain in his feet and the exhaustion in his body until he collapsed.
Laying there in the dirt surrounded by the children and his friend he smiled. And he wore that smile in his sleep on the way back to the centre.

"Can't you cut it off?"
"No I can't cut it off Zyz because unlike you my leg can't grow back."
"Yeah Max is a mammal. We just have to wait till Friday and it'll be all better."
"It'll be longer than Friday Tarlax, it won't be completely better till after the tri-eclipse festival."
*chorus of what's, groans, and other disapproving children sounds*
"But that's...1..2..4..6...7 weeks!"
"I thought you said you weren't hurt that bad!"
"YOU ALREADY RESTED FOR A WEEK!!"
"Yes but it'll still take a while for me to be able to play with you guys again. Right now I'm only able to keep an eye on you kids and help Kim out with crafts and non-physical things."
"But when Pollix broke his arm he was all better in 2 weeks, and my uncle Fenrir broke his foot but he's all better after 10 days."
"Listen kids, humans take longer to heal than most other species. And until then I can't play with you or else my ankle will just get worse."
"But why can't-!"
"Please just one-"
"Maaxx-"
"Come on-!"
"ENOUGH!" having enough of the kids guilt and nag her injured co-worker on his first day back ran the the other human's patience dry.
"Max fractured, broke, his ankle and you want him to run on it? You want him to carry you all while just standing for too long hurts him? You want him to make his injury even worse so that he can play with you?"
complete silence
"After all Max has done for you kids and still you demand that he bends over backwards to entertain you...terrible behavior, I am disappointed in you, all of you."
"...Sorry Miss Kim."
"I'm not the one you kids should be apologizing to."
*chorus of small whispered apologies to Max*
"I forgive you, but like Kim I'm disappointed in you. Now everyone go get your snack."
.
..
"Kay what's eating you?"
"...I feel bad for yelling at the kids now."
"I know but you and I know that was necessary."
"Yeah but I still don't like it."
"Sorry for making you do that. I should've put my foot down and lectured them instead of you."
"Well...to be fair you couldn't without losing balance or wrecking your ankle even more."
"Ha. ha. very funny."
"MAX!!" screams dozen of children and younglings.
"Holy shit!"
"FuuuACK ...damnit my ankle..." his body forgot that even while scared he should not be jumping.
"We got you stuff to help you get better faster!" one by one the children handed the humans jars, wrapped up food, beverages, medicines, and many other things that helped one's health on their respective planet.
"Wow, this is so thoughtful kids. Thanks."
"And thanks to my uncle Fenrir I know how you can play with us but also catch up in case of emergencies."
"Oh really? Is it some kind of scooter--ho crap! THOR PUT ME DOWN!"
"Does it hurt?? Athea, Pollix, come on!"
"Waitwaitwaitwait!"
"There! Not only can you move faster, but also your taller and we get to train our stamina and endurance like any good warrior."
"Kim. Help. Me."
"Are you in pain?"
"...actually no...it's surprisingly comfortable."
"then what's wrong?"
"this is against protocol."
"Dude we have like zero protocol here when it comes to playtime."
"..."
"Your scared of heights?" they ask raising a brow.
"In my defense not many 6'3 men can be carried like this..."
"Well considering your only 2 feet higher now I say we call this your exposure therapy. Carry on kids, but don't run with him unless he says so."
"KIM! DON'T LEAVE ME! I WILL EXPOSURE THERAPY YOU TO SPIDERS IN YOUR SLEEP FOR THIS!!"
"No you won't! Your too nice plus to make things even the spider would have to be small and in a container."

Tuk didn't like this. She didn't like having to carry the tank and mask, didn't like being on the ship, and certainly didn't like this coal-ition.
But they could help Mom and Dad get rid of the RDA and they were healing Neteyam so she was trying not to whine. Well not too much.
It made her feel a little better that Loak and Kiri didn't like this place either. Spider was still deciding.
Right now they on a tour of the ship, their guide looked like a fluffy Prolemuris, or as Dad called them, a monkey. It was boring.
Only the others found it cool and that's cause Spider can breathe and all the new creatures they saw and the science thingy's.
So when Tuk heard the sound of kids laughing around the corner she followed it.
Down a large hallway she saw a giant door with a huge sign that said something care something. She wasn't really paying attention when Dad and uncle Norm tried teaching her how to read.
Looking back and seeing that the others were too busy to stop her she walked in.
Inside was a giant room filled with kids, tables, stuff, more stuff and toys.
"Hi, are you new here?" she looked down and saw another creature that looked like their guide, a tiny fluffy monkey thing.
"Uhh yeah. What is this place?"
"This is the youngling centre. It's where we stay until our parents can take us home. I'm Marl."
"Tuk."
"...what are you?"
"Huh?"
"What are you? I've never seen anyone so tall, or blue."
"Uh a Na'vi. ..what are you?"
"I'm a Ursa." for a moment they stared at each other. As most children do when seeing something/someone new.
"Put your foot in for freeze tag!"
"Ooo freeze tag! Come on lets go play!"
"What's freeze tag?"
"It's a new game we just learned. Its easy." The little Ursa grabbed Tuk's tail using it as a leash to pull her along.
.
Freeze tag was Tuk's new favorite game. She loved running and there was lots of running and even if she got caught she could get out if someone unfreezed her.
The books were also fun. Marl read to her and let her hold the book. She liked the one's by Robert Munch, she also liked his funny name.
There were lots of other things to do too. There was a climbing area with fake tree tops and lots of ropes to swing on. In the back there was a shallow pool to swim in, it was fun but she didn't like having to dry off with the scratchy towels.
There were was blocks that stuck together which made building easier. Tons of markers, crayons, and paint that was hard to get back at home. They even got lunch.
"Okay kids you know the rules, grab a plate a drink and find a spot to sit."
"Teacher Max we need a chair for Tuk!"
"One chair coming right up...wait who?"
"Tuk. She's new."
It was at this moment Tuk realized she hadn't noticed the two adults in charge here. And it was at this moment that said adults realized they had one more child than usual.
"Oh hey, nice to meet you. Tuk was it," she nodded. "I'm Max and that's Kim. We're the teachers here."
Of all the new creatures and beings Tuk's seen so far it was only now that she was nervous. Humans had that effect on her. Not all humans, Spider definitely never made her nervous, but new ones did.
She knew her Dad used to be one, loved and liked uncle Norm and all the human scientists her family knew. But ever since what happened to Neteyam and their home, both the old one and new one, she was a little nervous.
"Do you like it here so far?" Luckily for her Max had noticed her nerves and knelt down to give her the advantage of height and to look her in the eyes.
She nodded.
"Well that's good. What do you like so far?"
"...the games...and drawing stuff and the food, it's good." he laughed.
"Well thank you, it's a family recipe. And I'm sure Kim will be happy to hear that you like the games she's taught the kids."
With that he gave her a chair and left her to finish her meal with Marl.
..
"Hi Tuk, I'm Kim."
"...hi."
"I noticed that your really tall. How old are you? 20?"
"No? I'm only 7." she smiled.
"What?? No way. You're almost as tall as me!"
"Actually Teacher, I think she's taller than you."
"No!"
"Tuk Tuk, stand up! Let's see!"
She got up and true enough she was taller than the adult by 2 inches.
"Holy...I didn't actually think you'd be taller than me." Kim had seen tall kids before but never had she met a kid taller than her this young.
The children laughed cheering that finally someone was taller than their shortest teacher. Tuk couldn't help but join in, standing on her tippy toes to make her even taller.
"Okay, okay that's enough. Calm down. Now, Tuk, since your so tall do you think you could help me with something?" Tuk hesitated but nodded.
Kim lead her to a tall bookshelf that had a doll stuck ontop of it.
"This has been stuck there for the whole day and we can't get it since the bookshelf can't be climbed and the ladder is broken. So what I'm thinking is you get on my shoulders and grab it. Sound good?"
"I get on your shoulders?"
"You don't have to if your scared of heights, I can ask one of the other kids or just wait."
"I'm not scared of heights," she pouted. "I just don't think you can carry me. I'm big and your small."
"Oh really?" and before Tuk could say anything she was tossed over Kim's shoulder.
"Still think I'm too small!" the blue child shrieked with laughter until she was put down and together the two got the doll down.
...
"What do you think the emergency is about?"
"Maybe Smelv burnt dinner again."
"Nah I don't think so. Captain look a little too tense for a simple fire alarm."
"So I called all of you here because we have a missing child. She was last seen on a tour of the ship with her siblings. Her name is Tuk and she is a Na'vi; tall, tail, blue, bi-pedal." he brings up a hologram of her from the security footage.
"...JAMES CAMERON WAS RIGHT?!"
"...shit I knew we weren't expecting another kid."
....
"Dad! Dad! Can I go to school here?"
"Your grounded. As are all of you." he added looking at his older kids. Plus Spider.
"Aww, Kim, Max, can I go to school here?"
"...uh Tuk, I think that's a question for another day..." preferably when your mom isn't about to bite my head off thought Kim.
"Yeah definitely. Definitely not the best time right now." Max was sweating bullets trying not make eye-contact with the Captain who was very not subtlety growling at him.
'We fucked up.' they both thought.

Log date 510: today human Max is not here and that is disappointing as I have tremendous amounts of fun when he is here
Log date 511: human Max is still not here, maybe he is sick? I will ask Giver what helps humans get better when sick and then have my drone deliver it to him!
Log date 515: …human Max is still not here and it is the end of the week as he would call it…I miss him
Log date 518: Human Max is here! I have missed him greatly for he is the most fun one! We will play catch and build and draw and, and…human Max is sad today…
Log date 520: He is still sad. He plays catch and draws and builds but is still sad…this is not fun for me. He is not fun.
Log date 522: ….human Max lost his Giver. His Giver was hit by a transportation vehicle and died in the medical bay. He couldn’t say good bye as he is here and she was light years away in Earth…
Log date 522-b: I told Human Max he is not fun. That he is sad. He lied and said he was okay and forced a smile. I told him he is my favourite because he is the most fun but it’s okay to not always be fun… I asked him about his Giver and he told me stories of her. Soon everyone sat down to hear the stories and still stayed when he cried.
Log date 523: Human Max will be gone for a while until he is better. I miss him because he is fun but I want him to be better because I have the most fun when he is feeling well. He lost his Giver and that will take a while for him to be okay…and I will wait patiently for that
