What was y’all’s favourite book in TMI? My favourite, personally, was City of Lost Souls. I couldn’t tell you why, but it’s just been my favourite for as long as I remember. The travel, the tension, the sudden shift in pace and atmosphere, it just altered my younger self’s brain chemistry the first time I read it.

#of course there were parts of CoLS that I DIDN’T quite enjoy #*cough cough*#but in general I loved the shift in energy and the sudden pick up in pace #the team good/team evil thing was so fun to me #I think it was because (and this still applies) CoFA did not grab me like it probably should have #I ENJOYED IT ofc (there’s no TSC book I haven’t enjoyed)#but it felt like a bridge more than it felt like a book on its own accord #that’s just my opinion — like I said I don’t dislike CoFA #I just found CoLS more engaging #is that an unpopular opinion??#the shadowhunter chronicles #the mortal instruments #the dark artifices #jace herondale #clary fairchild #city of lost souls #tmi gang
