Despite really enjoying shockwave and tfa Perceptor as characters, I always have a hard time reading fanfic about them because I fell like everyone equates "driven by logic" = "fucked up guy" which like valid. Makes for good villains. But also. Hey. Hey guys do you know how many studies out there tell us that the most productive work force is one that's treated fairly and paid correctly so they want to work for you and do their best job?
I'm saying Perceptor's science division has the lowest turn over rate, he always signs off on all vacation and sick leave, logically it makes no sense to understaff his workforce. (Unions are probably discouraged/illegal on tfa Cybertron but Perceptor's division doesn't need it cause Perceptor will argue you into submission with the facts™ on why his janitors will have sick leave/vacations)
Is shockwave an ass? Yes. The decepticons on Cybertron haven't had a coup because he also provides time off regularly and let's them take mental health days where they can do anything they want. They have a form just dedicated to talk shit about him and he simply doesn't care because what they do off the clock is their business
