I tried to create Tesla, the rebel vampire, from the italian comic “Dampyr”.

Under here you will find all the information about her, and some of her different looks.

Biography: Tesla’s family came from Brno, Slovakia, to West Berlin due to political motivations when she was a child. Later a young Tesla become a member of a revolutionary group called “The Tigers”. The group wasn’t as serious (and violent) as Rote Armee Faktion, but they were wanted by the police too. Despite she tells that she joined “The Tigers” for her rebel attitude, she thought it was only a ecxtiting game. In this period she met Shawn Karver, a talented musician and song writer, and his friend Benno Lenz.

Shawn and Benno wasn’t members of “The Tigers”, but used to show their revolutionary idealism with words and songs. Despite her friends considered Shawn a coward, she thought that he was the most beautiful person she ever meet and fell in love with him.

One terrible night, her ecxting game ended brutally: their enemies (maybe police or army) captured them using a bai.

Tthat night they discovered that the people they thougth to have the power were slaves of a cruel Vampire Master.

Tesla’s friends were all immediantly killed by vampire pack, but she was left for two days and two nights tied to a chair, surrounded by her friend’s dead bodies. Impressed by her impetous and fierce nature, Shrek, NIght Master of Berlin, decidede to give Tesla as a present to his ally Gorka, a powerful Master in serbian territory. Gorka turned her into a vampire, a slave.

For a little time Tesla was Gorka’s lover, but he prefer her as warrior and lieutenant, along with another vampire called Caesar.

Twenty years after, Gorka is trying to conquer more territory, taking advantage from wars in Jugoslavia. Gorka and his pack attacked a squad of serbian-bosnian soldiers, commanded by Emil Kurjak, a former engineer, tired of the brutality of war, in the bosnian village of Vorvolak. A soldier propose to Kurjak to call a man of his birth village, who is said to be a dampyr, the son of a human woman (witch) and a vampire, the only who can kill those monsters. The man is Harlan Draka, he is born at the end of the second world war, but for unknown reasons he look like a young man of 25 years. Harlan with his friend Yuri, a cunning and very young boy, travels from village to village offering his services to the paesants as dampyr: they are crooks who pretend to resolve vampirism cases, taking advantage from the voices around Harlan Draka’s parents. At beginning Harlan is sceptical and confess to Kurjak to be only a crook, but during the night they discover that Harlan can really kill vampires and captured Tesla. Talking with her, Harlan and Kurjak make her bring out her umanity and resist to the mind-control of her master.

Repented for what she did, Tesla tells them what she knows about Night Masters’ race and that dampyr blood is like poison for them and their creature. The soldies decide to run away from the village, bringing Yuri with them and lefting behind Harlan, Tesla and their commander, Kurjak, who refuses to disobey orders. But they were all killed by Gorka’s pack, who turns Yuri and some others of them into a vampires. Later the vampire’s pack attacks again the village, but the bullets impregnated with Harlan’s blood killed Yuri and the large part of them.

Destroyed for the death of his friend Yuri, Harlan makes an oath of revenge agains Gorka, who will be killed after a terrible fight in Sarajevo, making Tesla definitly free and decides to join Harlan and Kurjak war against Night Masters (and later Evil). Later Tesla return in Berlin because she red in newspapers that Shawn Karver, her ex boyfriend, now a famous rock-star, is dying of an unknown desease (maybe cancer blood). She entered in his mansion and find him at bad, very proved by his illness, with catheter and mechanical ventilator, Tesla talks to him and discovers that now Benno Lenz is his manager and trys to force Shawn to make a will favouring him. At the end Tesla decides finally to take her revenge against Benno, who confesses that selling “The Tigers” to the authorities was an idea of Shawn and that they used the reward money to produce their first record, and he started to hate Shawn for what he forced him to do. Tesla, feeling betrayed and deceived, completes her revenge killing both Benno and Shawn.

At the beginning Tesla shows a love interest for Harlan Darka, maybe because he gives her back her human emotions and feelings and frees her from slavery in the pack of Gorka, but they can’t be lovers because dampyr’s fluids will be letal to her and because Harlan sees her as best friend.

So she begins a difficuoult love relationship with Emil Kurjak, the only human member of the squad.
