OMBRA festival 2023 desvela el cartel completo
La organización del festival ha compartido el cartel definitivo. OMBRA 2023 tendrá lugar los próximos días 1, 2 y 3 de diciembre en la antigua fábrica Mercedes-Benz de Barcelona (programación diurna) y en la Sala Upload del Poble Espanyol (programación nocturna).
Dirk Da Davo, ex-miembro de The Neon Judgement, llega a OMBRA 2023 como Neon Electronics. Junto con Glenn Keteleer (RADICAL G) y el bajista Pieter-Jan Theunis presentarán su propuesta de EBM y post-punk electrónico vinculada a la expresión individual y a la resistencia a la sedación mediática.
También se suma Terence Fixmer, artista referente de MUTE y residente del Berghain, una destacada figura en la escena de la música electrónica mundial, reconocido por su trabajo pionero en la "Techno Body Music" global.
Además, se incorpora el techno oscuro e industrial de Ancient Methods, DJ y productor destacado de la escena dark techno de Berlín. Sus sesiones son una mezcla de influencias que abarca sonidos wave, EBM e industriales, fusionando lo clásico con lo litúrgico y lo psicodélico, todo ello integrado magistralmente creando sensaciones de euforia íntima a la vez que introspectiva.
El Electro Dj Squad es un colectivo de artistas españoles formado por Internal Operator, Elmer Davy, Robert Cosmic y Asymmetric80, todos ellos se suman al cartel para ofrecernos DJ sets que harán las delicias de los amantes de los ritmos rotos, gruesos y contundentes. Complementando estas nuevas incorporaciones, se suman otros experimentados DJs internacionales, como son Annechoic y Exzakt, quienes provienen de Alemania y Estados Unidos, respectivamente.
La propuesta nocturna, organizada en colaboración con la Sala Upload, estará compuesta de reconocidos talentos locales, como son Ramon Moya, Uri Callejo y Dafoe, junto a selectores internacionales muy destacados como son Curses, Carlos GrabStein, Philip Strobel y Omar.

Front 242 Remixed: June's Featured Release
<<Rewind<< - Front 242 (2022, Alpha Matrix) for those who are unaware, are the forerunners of what we know today as electronic body music, and who've inspired what came later, Belgian new beat and industrialized techno. From their recording home in Aarschot, Belgium, from release after release, and a line-up that hardly rarely ever changed, they remain under this title, influencing the many acts who came onto the scene afterwards. <<Rewind<< is an EP which demonstrates that influence, a collective remix effort by key producers in the industrial-techno movement happening right now before our eyes, and ears.
Even though the term "industrial" as a music genre, was technically coined by the Brits, the movement in Belgium and that part of Europe at the beginning of the 1980s, was more like an off-shoot of New Wave and New Romanticism flair. Adrenalin replaces chance with the inclusion of synths and an emphasis on rhythm, hence the word "body" used within the term electronic body music. It was dance music finally, while there was also a more emotionally triggered, theatrically dramatic approach to sampling in production.
This EP revisits and modernizes 242's catalogue with the support of Terence Fixmer, The Hacker and a few others. Classic 242 synced to industrialized techno, out now on Alpha Matrix!
