Imagine, what if ultimate peace was in the materialistic things like money, fame, possessions etc, which everyone might not find easy to achieve? What if the real pleasures in life were in all the wrong things we are chasing now even when we know clearly it's the wrong place we are chasing. If it was so, wouldn't peace and pleasure be only accessible to the rich and powerful in the society? But is it so? Well, it's quiet the opposite right. You may find a rich and powerful man weeping alone in his huge bungalow because he considers his life worthless, even when he has every material possession he could ever dream of. While you may see a poor man happily spending his evening with his family grateful for the day's meals and the happiness on his children's face. We chase for peace and happiness in all the wrong places. While it is right here, within us, so close to us. Happiness is not definitely having the best jobs, cars, houses or huge savings in the bank. All those are truly transient. Finding happiness is not a one day process. Happiness is a combination of many other emotions, like contentment, acceptance, forgiveness, trust, reliance, gratefulness, and many more such things which can never be given a price. The more we keep searching for happiness in the wrong things, the more the right things slip away from our hands. Once you give Allah’s friendship, as the only friend, a try.. wallahi you will never feel the need for anybody else. Use that moment after prayer to talk to Allah about your day, about your issues, your hardships, your wishes and your goals, you will feel so powerfull. Use the Quran & Hadith for guidance and advice. Cry your eyes out to Him, complain to Him and finish with a dua by asking everything that you want and to thank Him. You will see that your life will change. At first, it will feel a bit strange ‘talking to the unseen’ but you’re never alone. Allah is always listening. That power of not needing anybody but Allah is the real freedom and independency.

The power of the Holy Spirit in my life is radical! I have to say it has been the most transformational two years of my life in an active pursuit of dwelling in the presence of the Lord. He rescued me two years ago from a life of chaos and addiction as I cried desperately out to Him. There is much more work for Him to complete in me, but knowing that He never leaves or forsakes His own is an absolute beauty I sit in awe of often. The music that sings of Him and His love and His friendship to us is so powerful and soul reviving. His work in and through His people helps me to know how temporary this life is and makes me desire more of Him and less of me! Night and God bless!
