Horrible angsty dadow AU because I like causing pain.

Considering Silver was born over 180 years in the future, and when we see him (and blaze) there's no parents taking care of him, what if in a Dadow au, Shadow used to be raising Silver, but his hedgehog DNA was degrading, leaving only Black Arms DNA? He's able to shapeshift for a time to make himself look like a hedgehog, but it becomes harder and harder to maintain his form. Finally, one night he just runs away. Silver doesn't know why his dad abandoned him, he only remembers some monster that looked like him, with three eyes, yellow schlera, and jagged edges in his silhouette.

Obviously, Shadow doesn't completely abandon Silver. He leaves basic supplies for him a few times a week when he was younger, that Silver thinks are old caches he happened to stumble upon. He's terrified of getting to close to his son though. He remembers how his own dad was a horrible influence on his psyche. He's scared of hurting Silver the same way. Eventually, he fears his own mind and the safety of Silver, and he has Omega and a human scientist lock him away voluntarily, taking on his original form one last time. This led to the fulfilment of Mephiles's prophecy that Shadow would be "locked away by humanity". A technical truth, but a very twisted one, leaving out the nuance and details.

Shadow's disappearance is the reason why Silver went along with what Mephiles was planning. He didn't think he was trustworthy, but he was holding onto some glimmer of hope that working with Mephiles could lead him to finding his dad, or at least what happened to him. Mephiles took on Shadow's form because he knew it would hook Silver into his schemes.

Dadow is about the bit First the family fluff Second! Idc if Shadow is a Good Father, I care that it's so so funny and endlessly distressing to have to pretend you don't have a connection to him when you have to confront his asshole past self who keeps kicking you in the head and calling you mean names!! And to complain to him when you see him in the future again. YEAH in the future he's prolly saving your ass constantly, but you want some Revenge and technically he Did kick you, so you secretly take swings at him when he isn't looking. Yes he taught you some cooking and foraging techniques and looks out for your health becuz he knows how important you are to the timeline, but you think you deserve to bite him at least once any way. To even the score.

tell me abt the dadow and sonadow enchanted au

so basically since sonic is king arthur and a prince in sonic underground i figured he could work in giselle’s role of being from a fantasy universe and accidentally ending up in a modern city

and silver would see him walking around the city that night which would lead to sonic and shadow meeting and shadow letting him stay with them until he could get home

and it would work similarly to the movie with sonic doing a bunch of things that annoy shadow who’s just trying to get rid of him and them eventually falling for each other with the added bonus of sonic and silver bonding (also sonic would get to try a chili dog for the first time since giselle eats a hotdog in the movie lmao)

and since enchanted is technically a story of two relationships i thought about having knuckles & rouge in edward and nancy’s roles but instead of being in relationships with shadow and sonic initially rouge would just be shadow’s friend who helps him with silver sometimes and knuckles would jump through the portal to find sonic and bring him home since that’s his friend (also tails would be with him kinda like pip)

i haven’t really decided on the main villains yet but i did have an idea of making it sonic’s mom from underground or just eggman (it could technically be both)
