Happy wip wednesday everyone :3

Recently got inspired by fantasy again of course so did some quick drawings of my original characters

I thought it’d be a fun art challenge to draw some of my fantasy oc’s in the style of Fear and Hunger so I am currently working on that right now alongside other things just chipping away at it in the background when I need to take a break from other things, the two characters I have sketched so far are Rosa and Cora they are sister witches from the same academy Cora being an elf battle witch while Rosa is a bunny girl (need a name for her people) whose focus is on hexes, wards and healing, she is more academically minded as opposed to someone who goes in to battle

My next piece is my original character main focus character I did for OCtober last year, she’s my little bunny witch girl i should do a whole bio for her soon tbh. I also want to do a write up of the witches academy she is from and other characters that are from it.

Even though I got completely distracted by my fantasy stuff (again lol…yes it happens all the time yes it’s a real problem) lol but I still made progress on my Signalis fanart, enjoying how it’s coming along so far but still not done yet i really feel like that piece has helped me with my colour theory though making a more unified colour palette

Recently finished showing my boyfriend the 10th doctors Seasons on doctor who he loved it btw we’re already on to Matt Smith and he loves him too!) and so I got inspired to do a little experimental painting of the 10th doctor but I am so struggling with capturing David Tenants likeness I’ve got to keep trying but there’s the rough sketch for now

Just wanted to say that the “self ship is the best way of knowing yourself” post completely changed my viewpoint and had me examine myself—I don’t self ship, but I definitely spend a lot of time writing ocs that are probably more of a thinly veiled self insert than I care to admit. Idk if you intended to create a whole ass philosophy with that post but like—wow. I might have to actually write some self ship tbh.

Honestly, I have no idea anymore what I had in mind, since I wrote that post around 4am 😂 But really glad you found it inspiring, regarding your work and imagination!

(To be honest, OCs were always a selfship form for me. Which, oh irony, I also realised when I dropped the project of my One Piece OC for the sake of my canonverse self insert... And realised how much those two personas have in common.)

Maybe I think too much like a writer (duh, I'm a book maniac AND a writer), but because of selfshipping I started thinking like my f/os, even arguing with myself from their point of view - which helped me to see myself from the outside, to find a way around my stupid, wrecked brain to get right to the core. Not only it explained me WHY I find them appealing and similar, why they would find me appealing (huge self confidence boost), but also helped me realize what I can draw out of myself to develop and improve. Something I wasn't able to do before.

(I think it started with realisation why Law's backstory hit me especially hard, not the Flevance part, but Cora's part; I took very similar turn as a teen and started orbiting towards a very destructive end, one I got away from thanks to someone's help. I had no idea I still have trauma of those years deeply rooted in me.)

1 What does your character typically keep in their pockets?

Tinsel seems to just shove everything in their pockets and forget about it. Really if you give them something they'll probably carry it around for a few months. The mainstays are 1) extremely waterproof eyeliner 2) drawings from Cora 3) half eaten snacks.

13 If they were a body of water, what would they be?

Tinsel's got a lot of big emotions, never stays still and they can be pretty mercurial so I'd say they're a river.

16 What keeps them going?

Power of friendship, baybeee. Tinsel does have their own goals but they can get discouraged/distracted/insecure about stuff. They really thrive with external motivation.

22 What kind of person would they never side with?

Jealous or needlessly selfish people. They were raised in a big family so they were taught very early on not to be either of those things. Tinsel's sense of morality is a little skewed tbh so I feel like they could be talked into holding their nose and siding with shadier individuals. Especially if they're getting paid well. HOWEVER there's a hard, personal line against people who take advantage of young people with dreams.

30 What never gets old for your character? Something your character can’t get enough of?

Besides attention and taco bell, I think Tinsel would be the kind of person who constantly rewatches their favorite movies. It's kind of weird now that they're dating the person in their favorite movies but yeah. They also love I'm to infodump of they're comfortable enough to do it.

33 How do they feel about the unknown?

I think they're fine with the unknown now. I don't think they were as fine with it before they started adventuring because they mostly avoided their problems if they could lol. I think they're more comfortable with it now.

38 What fairytale/myth suits your character the best?

I honestly have no idea. They don't really fit the regular selkie stories and I'm not too well versed in other myths/fairytales.

48 What do they want to leave behind?

Oh, you know they want to drop all that baggage they have. They spent a while ignoring it or just jumping to the worse conclusion about things. Getting answers about their life seems to help them leave some of that trauma behind.

54 What is something they currently look forward to? What is something they dread?

They're looking forward to seeing their fiance and girlfriend again! But they're also excited to be back into adventuring after their break because they really like adventuring with their friends.

They dread when the prophecy thing coming around because it seems like a lot of pressure. They're also dreading their curse getting worse and telling their parents about their engagement.

59 What’s something your character has realized?

They recently realized that people aren't always just going to leave them. They were really worried about Riot up and leaving but the "should we get married? I think we should get married" thing really made them reconsider that fear.

I think Tinsel's also realizing people don't actually judge them as hard as they think they do. Like, they're not there all the way yet but it's coming.

64 What is one thing they want each party member to know?

Kira: I'm more honest with you than I am with most people. Not sure why that is.

Zona: I appreciate every nice thing you say about me. I wish I could put them in a scrap book.

65 Adoration or Intimidation?

oc dynamics

just kidding not gonna draw this because as I was coming up w sketches they just looked kind of repetitive. idk maybe I’ll draw the ocs as is (you know, as part of my favorite “send me 2+ ocs prompt.) We’ll see. (also I’ll go fuck myself because I have a test on tuesday I should take more seriously than I currently am.)

Audrey and Kat are neighbors so it didn’t take long for them to meet. Katsumi had been living there a few months before Audrey. My idea was that they’re at the same bus stop in front of their building. Maybe Kat had seen her before, or vice versa, but Kat introduces herself. She heard that her neighbors were getting a new roommate. Their first interaction is brief, the bus comes and Audrey changes her mind about riding it because she doesn’t want to tell Kat she’s not up for a convo.

At first Audrey would invite Kat (or got Advik to invite her) to group hang outs because she felt sorry for her. Kat was always alone and didn’t want to be. But as time passes Audrey and Kat become closer friends which started off through them talking about their interests, Kat’s being fashion and Audrey’s being music. They’d share their own (Kat first) and that’s probably how they bond.

Brian and Jake meet each other through mutual friends at party. Brian was probably dragged there (by Cora most likely) and Jake introduces himself but Brian doesn’t show much interest in a conversation, so Jake doesn’t try. Brian feels bad because he’s sort of had the same circle of friends for a long time so he hasn’t made new ones in a while. Forgets that shutting people off means that they’re not gonna want to talk to you again.

I want them to date tbh, but not sure at what point that happens. Brian is very shy when it comes to dating but I’d want him to be the one to ask Jake out because Jake kind of figures that Brian’s not looking for a relationship and is happy with the state things are at the time. So… I don’t know where things are right now. This is all on me, I’ll come up with what goes on with them.

Fun fact about Morgan and Zack is that despite being in the same friend circle they don’t really have that much between them ?? Should I change that ? Morgan is first introduced in my main storyline by showing up at Cora’s door after months of not hearing from her. She stays on the couch of her apartment for a bit of time. So maybe when Zack goes over there to visit Audrey or Advik he’s like “Who the hell is that on your couch ?” and they’re like “Morgan she’s a mess” and Morgan proves that to be right. Anyway they don’t think anything of each other, they doubt they’ll ever see each other again.

Fast forward to the current time and Morgan is dating Avery and she’s over at their apartment all the time. “Fuck, now you’re on my couch ?!” Morgan gives Zack some finger guns and a wink. Their relationship is very neutral, I don’t know what they’d be like if they were in a room together.

Katsumi and Advik probably met in the same fashion as Kat met Audrey since they’re neighbors. Advik thought she was odd and didn’t completely trust her approach. He only had just moved there and was surrounded by people who all seemed to know each other. Kat probably could have been his first friend since moving out, but I don’t think Advik saw her as someone he could potentially befriend.

But it’s all good because they do become friends !! Turns out Kat and Advik have a lot of fun in each other’s company, and Kat is not uncanny like Advik first anticipated. Her niceness had always been genuine. He feels bad that it took so long to figure that out, but what’s there to do about that ? I don’t think there’s anything they talk to each other about that’s not said in front of mutual friends, so if they ever hang with just each other, it’s because no one else is available to hang with them.

Hi, Ben! I hope you had a good day, and are finally managing some sleep! Congrats on figuring some stuff out for that original novel you’re planning! Also, I’m gonna have to go back through some of your posts about wolf behavior again, because I keep getting vague ideas of how to use some of the info, then not writing it down for later. ’>.> And I don’t know what that gifset of the two dudes dancing is from, but it’s definitely getting added to the “stuff to go over to get inspired to work on IYWTD again”

Also, wtf was up with the dumbass in the bay leaf discussion? Did they actually read any of it at all? Did they just see you say you were white and their brain function shut down? I don’t understand why people have to react to everything with such rage and hatred all the time anymore. Like, yeah, shit’s stupid crazy and rough for everyone these days. That should make you kinder, not meaner. Goddamn.

That gifset of Bucky from the Falcon and Winter Soldier trailer was so pretty, but also made me laugh because my brain would not stop playing “walk, walk, fashion baby” on repeat. XD

And that story of your friend’s about Peter and chihuahuas sounds hysterical. May I offer the idea of them being long-haired chihuahuas? Especially if we’re talking a Peter with more of a Season One look? Because, I mean, just look at these adorable floofs. Can you picture Peter with a tiny army of those (especially the dark brown)? He could get them all their own little v-necks. They could all be named after Japanese movie monsters. Or fashion designers. Or, no, wait, the various Robins/assorted Batkids (how could he pass up an excuse to name one Dick? XD ) God, now I wish I could draw again, just to make a picture of him taking them all for a walk, them all in little harnesses that look like v-necks, him in one of those “I’m the Alpha” t-shirts, leashes in one hand, Starbucks in the other, not a single fuck to be given in sight. XD (And I know it’s intended as a Gen fic, but my brain can’t help but see Noah finding it equal parts hysterical and adorable, especially anytime Peter drops by the station to offer their services as sniffer dogs, and all the deputies lose their absolute minds over all the cuteness. [Peter knows they would do an excellent job. He’s trained them himself after all.] Bonus points if he used the Bat-names and the one named after Barbara Gordon took an extreme liking to Noah. Stiles can always use a little sister.) @for-the-love-of-wolves

And that new preview is SO CUTE! Oh, Peter, you are so ridiculous, and so incorrigible. Poor Noah. XD He is so put-upon. And stronger than me, because how could you say no to that face? XD I’m SUPER curious to see how you’re changing and diverging from canon, and how it will affect everyone’s relationships. Also how you’re bringing in Malia (at least, from the moodboard I assume she shows up at some point?) SO EXCITED!!!

Also, I was thinking more about goth Chris, because my brain just won’t let things go (see: the whole lingerie thing), so I went looking for some examples of things they could get him to kinda sneak it into his wardrobe a little at a time. Like this shirt (zoom in on some of the other pics to really see the pattern in the fabric) (also, damn, he’d look good in that shirt.) Or this jacket in his more traditional style but a more luxurious fabric. This seemingly simple vest with the detailing that can be hidden under a blazer or jacket, but he’d know it was there. As he starts feeling more comfortable with adding it occasionally, maybe some velvet blazers in deep jewel tones to really make those eyes pop. Maybe a few fancier items for date nights. And maybe something like this (without the shirt under it of course) just for Noah and Peter to see (such a lovely visual, isn’t it? ;D ) Also, this doesn’t quite fit the same vibe, but part of me REALLY wants one of them to get him this coat, because I just can’t let the silver fox thing go, and lbr, it would look PHENOMENAL on him.

Also, during my search, came across this excellent option for Noah.

Anyway, sorry for all the links, I got a little carried away again (as one does. Or at least as this one does…) I hope you are feeling okay, and have at least managed some food and some rest (I still see posts popping up randomly, so I’m less certain about sleep, but rest can be helpful sometimes, too.) I definitely can’t wait to see what kind of shenanigans the guys are up to in IFWTD and I’m very curious about the construction chapter! Also yeah, writing a lot of that stuff down is probably a good idea (though I forget to do it too tbh XD).

Dude from the bay leaf turned out to be a self proclaimed Radfem adjacent SSA Gay? And had some very transphobic and Islamophobic language on his blog, so anything he says is no longer relevant or valid imo.

I have a feeling gushing over Peter and his army of chihuahuas is something we can all agree on is very necessary at the moment. (I have no idea if that is a sentence since my brain is just very- weird at the moment with the English language.)

But yeah that would be adorable really <3

I have about 2,000 words written for it and the way I’m diverting from canon is something I’m exploring right now. I think the best way to describe it is; Peter did not kill Laura himself (but he did want to confront her.) She was mortally wounded by hunters, got away briefly, found Peter in the woods and although he was angry he saw she was already dying from her wounds. Laura transferred her spark to Peter willingly to keep the Hale spark alive and died in Peter’s arms.

Peter then ran before the hunters could get to him. Laura’s body was then mutilated by the hunters and cut in half. Confused and trying to hide, Peter ran into Scott several hours later and bit the boy in confusion. Turning him and setting the events in motion that we know off. Also dragging Stiles in everything.

Peter starts killing people as per canon, the police department starts investigating. And then Peter escapes the hospital and starts putting pressure on Stiles and Scott. In an effort to win Scott over he grabs Stiles and starts the whole spiel of trying to convince him to get Scott in his pack. But the sheriff catches on that Stiles is not where he’s supposed to be and finds him with a supposed comatose patient. He arrests Peter and brings him over to the station and that’s when we enter the scene I posted a preview for.

The sheriff learns about the supernatural in that interview and suddenly has a whole new world to deal with.

I’m gonna write Malia and Cora into S2 in this verse, don’t know what I’ll do with Jackson though. If I’ll make him Peter’s son or not. And from that point on it’s Noah trying to rehabilitate Peter Hale, making sure he goes to therapy, and them trying to raise a pack and family.

idk that’s the whole idea behind it anyway? I hope that sounds good?

AND MY GOD, Goth!Chris is everything and I love every single one of those pieces. Oh it would look so lovely on him, I can just see it too. My god how can Noah and Peter even take their eyes off off the man XD

And no joke, but I kind of want that shirt you picked for Noah but it’s like expensive and that’s not fair XD But yea, that would fit him extraordinarily well XD. <3

areater, she was the one that originally showed me kalons. at first we were both trying for anything, plumerians, and p much any adoptable we thought was cool, and then she showed me kals. i was kind of iffy about them at first bc i wasn't sure if i liked them or not, but she got me hooked. and each time that there is a kalon out that she thinks I might like, she texts me and it makes me super happy. There was this one orange goldfish based kalon and Areater remembers that it's my favorite color and she texted me that day saying something like "!! There's an orange kalon UFA!" and it just made me so happy that she remembered. She's my best friend, despite the fact we've never actually met, we've known each other for years and she is such a diamond in the rough. <3 she also has the loveliest kalons and the most unique, original forms!!!

Bailey-Boo (formerly CaeserHorse) is such a gem!! always down for ideas and relations, roleplays, and everything under the sun! the Best at drawing, is so chill to talk to, and many other traits! so affable and easy to talk to!
