I’m not in a particular boat of if Jax is an NPC or not in canon but can you imagine?

It’s a Hunter Grimwalker or Sentimonster Adrien situation where he doesn’t know. Gummigoo didn’t. Or maybe Caine made him with that particular idea in mind- for him to think he is a player like everyone else.

Jax is 10000% the kind of person to be a dick to NPCs for fun, and if we’re going with the idea that part of why he acts like this is because he knows it’s all a game so there are virtually no consequences, he’d probably hold himself to a higher regard than the NPCs. Because he thinks he’s real and they’re not.

Then he finds out. Maybe a Gummigoo situation where he meets his model. Maybe they find a way to leave and Caine either tells him he can’t or they find out the hard way. Maybe something happens with code and he starts glitching. Maybe he gets reset. Maybe Caine accidentally snaps him away and then has to bring him back. Maybe Kinger knows and accidentally drops the bomb. Maybe Bubble does (and Caine gets PISSED.)

Just… maybe.

That would be like the ULTIMATE perspective shift. Especially since I wouldn’t be surprised if Jax ends up giving Pomni grief over Gummigoo, making fun of her for thinking of him as “real.”

Honestly I had one thing on my mind after watching the second episode honestly if I were pomni I would’ve snapped at Caine him taking away the only person or well NPC that understood her gone

we don’t know what happens after Caine snapping him away I like to think he just wiped his memories away which would make it even more heartbreaking I feel bad for pomni even though she just met gummigoo she seemed to be happy for the first time at the circus

But

I honestly don’t hate Caine I just think that he don’t know better especially about people’s emotions which I kinda relate toAlso this was my first time

New tadc au soon!!

The au:

⚠Trigger warning: Alcohol use, drugs, abuse⚠

Okay, I have no idea if this is already made or something but I had this idea that Caine was actually a human in the past.

This isn't a theory so there's like no evidence but in the au Caine was the father of Pomni, age 13, and, with his brother Able, was one of the CEO's of Caine & Able industries and they were working on tadc, a new vr game.

With all this work, he left Pomni (I have no name ideas) alone at home a lot. She was alone almost all the time and her mother couldn't even stand up unless it was to get another bottle.

One day, Caine left to work and never returned. Pomni was soon informed that he went missing at work. Even with an investigation, Caine was nowhere to be found. Soon, Pomni went to live with Able and her mother was arrested for child abvse.

Pomni, now age 15, was happy for a short while. Able was starting to act weird and it worried Pomni. Able was seemingly getting angry and more irritable. Pomni, having delt with her mother, knew not to bother him. With this ignorance, Pomni was able to do drvgs and Able never knew.

After years of neglectance, Pomni, now 20, moved out and took notice that Able seemed upset that she left. She shrugged it off and got a small apartment for herself. She soon got her life back on track but struggled to find a job.

She lived alone for 5 years until she got a call from Able. He asked her to come visit his job for opportunities and Pomni, needing a job, agreed and drove to C&A industries.

Able dazzled her and got her to come with him to the basement room to try the new vr set model. She had a bad feeling but didn't think he would do anything to her... why would he anyways?

When they went down and Able suddenly hit her on the side of the head with a metal bar, knocking her out. When she woke up, Able had tied her down and forced the headset onto her head.

When Pomni woke up, she woke up in the circus...

After math:

Eventually, Pomni finds out that Caine is her father and this sends her off. She remembers how he left her with an abvsive mother and then disappeared and snapped in front of everyone, Shocking them.

It basically went like this:

Caine feels bad and tries to make it up to Pomni and be a better father to her in the circus. He even tries to help her find the exit or a glitch in the code.

With this, chaos unfolds as Able enters the circus and Caine disappears again. This makes Pomni think that he's abandoning her again and it makes her stomach curl. Soon, the circus members find out what really happened to Caine. Pomni couldn't be more angry.

This is going to be very angsty so I will warn you now. There's themes of depression and loss so if you're uncomfortable with that please don't read this.

Jax grieving the loss of the Reader

★ After the smoke has cleared and you get put into the cellar the first thing he does is go into a depressive episode. It lasts for about a month, just staying in his room and laying in bed. Not doing anything, just laying in his bed and feeling completely numb.

★ You are just... Gone. You aren't coming back. He's never going to see you again and that's the hardest part. You won't laugh at his jokes anymore or scold him for being too cruel. He misses your voice more than anything.

★ He should have told you how much he cares. If he did you might still be here. Maybe he just pushed you too far? It's all his fault. Those dark thoughts plague his mind when he's alone. He blames himself, when in reality it wasnt his fault.

★ During this dark period Caine tries his best to get Jax out of his bed. Staying in his room all day everyday was sure to mess with his head. In Caine's words, he needs to "breathe in some fresh, digital, air!"

★ He didn't want to, go figure. Unfortunately for Jax he didn't really have a choice because after a few weeks; Caine ended up fast traveling him to where he wanted the rabbit to go.

★ Depressed Jax laying in the grass was quite a sight for everyone else, who haven't seen him for weeks. He just plops himself in the grass and stares at the sun. Good luck getting him to play along with Caine's adventures. He can't even muster up the will to smile.

★ Your room is marked with a "❌" now. A constant reminder that you are gone. He hates looking at your room. The key to it Is still in his room somewhere but he will never use it again. Too many painful memories.

★ It takes him months before the grieving process runs it's course. Even after he starts feeling like himself again he still stays awake at night thinking about you. He will never stop missing you.
