TA Digital Festival (TADC AU)

Welcome to the festival, a place where almost anything can happen! We have friendly inhabitants everywhere, are you new to the festivalgame? Let’s introduce those that you HAVEN’T met!

Gangle, oh gangle! Our friendly theatric… friend. Gangle sets up parades and festivals, despite funny ol Jax’s constant teasing, she doesn’t let it get to her! Used to be just the music part, but realized that maybe it would help to fill in where Queenie was no longer available, she used to hold this place together and plan all sorts of fun things. . .

Zooble is always there to lend a helping hand! As strong as an ox and changing every day! Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt them. They do all sorts of things around the festival grounds! Colorful play structures, all those colorful fun backdrops and areas in a festival, Zooble often helps Gangle out, and Kinger, since Zooble is more hands on, but Zooble does miss Gangle’s days as the musical person

Kinger, he’s a bundle of joy! The little ones love being around him, he’s like a fun grandpa! Kids seem really entertained by Kinger, he mostly just ends up building forts with the kids and catching insects. In fact, you will even get special prizes for catching certain amounts! Is he talking to thin air? Oh, he does that. Is that the cry of a far off child? No, just him imagining it… try not to talk too much, or Kinger might start acting not like himself, and then he’ll have to go and take a nap to mentally recover! He’d hate to leave you mid conversation!

Ragatha is so friendly, she enjoys catering, though she gets help at times from the others. She works with food mostly, she also helps Gangle with ceremonies, organizing, organizing, that’s what she loves, and she loves helping out a friend or a friendly visitor! Don’t be afraid to drop by and get some help from our friendly rag-dollie! Don’t touch anything, don’t mess with anything, always ask. Ragatha doesn’t like people bothering her things.

Our lovable Jax is a trickster, I’ll give you that, he pulls friendly little pranks all around the park, but when he’s not making everyone laugh from his silly little acts, he does trivia! Oh how he loves it, both ok and off ‘duty’. He misses his pranking buddy at times. Just try not to let him get too in depth on his topics…

Pom Pom, the lovable, short, new, colorful member of our festival team! She mostly does the arcade games, inside the tent with the games there, or lawn games in front. She isn’t very good at them though… don’t play too many games, don’t let her get competitive. Don’t. But, she always has fun!

“I. . . This place is nothing like it’s supposed to be. . . Why am I trapped here, with these. . . People? No. . . They don’t act human, at least not like normal people. . . wait. . . Is this. . . a G A M E?”

Oho, don’t worry about that! You’re right where you need to be, Caine.

Guess who watched The Amazing Digital Circus~ :3

I got inspired by @sm-baby 's Carnival AU to make my own swap au :3 (I think him and Ragatha would get along nicely :3)

Kinger swaps with Pomni due to their shared medieval themes (Pomni being a Jester and Kinger being a King) and because I thought it'd be fun if the newest and oldest members swapped :3 (Pomni is a Pawn Chess Piece in this au :3)

I imagine Kinger's robe works similarly to Mario's hat in some games? Where if the hat is away from him, Mario will be dizzy? I might be misrembering, but that's what happens if Kinger's robe is away from him. He can take it off just fine, he just needs to be touching it to keep the dizzy effect away :3

A silly little rabbit who likes to play around!

Here’s everyone’s favorite rabbit (at this point there is like 6 people who’s favorite isn’t Jax at this point) Jax! His sugary inspiration is taffy with his striped ears and pants, his outfit comes from the traditional candy sales man but he’s still the same dumb rabbit! With a bit more trauma, can’t go wrong with giving character trauma!

The her! The baby! My daughter! :D

Due to her new role and appearance, Gangle gets a new name! Her name is Yarny in the Digital Festival :3

Gangle swaps with Ragatha due to both of them being more emotional? Or I guess they're both more supportive? I don't know, I just thought of Gangle being a yarn doll and ran with it :3

She was very easy to design as I had a clear idea of what I wanted her look like. But I did change a couple things, like I added different colors to make her less flat, made her button eyes yellow instead of white, and unraveled her limbs so I didn't have to draw 4 braids :3 (I'll probably change her 'hands and feet' to have strands, but I think it's fine for now)

I want to get the main characters done first, then supporting characters, then the AIs and then Queenie and Kaufmo! (Separating everything into chunks makes the task feel less intimidating) So next up will be Zooble! Then will be the supporting characters! :3

Pomni's turn!! :D I already explained my reasoning for swapping Kinger and Pomni so I won't get into that here :3

You would think that she would be easy to design, but NOPE! I struggled for a bit because, while she is simple, it was hard to keep her simple and still be recognizable as Pomni. I think I still did a good job regardless. The eyes definitely help :3

She only gets 2 facial expressions because she isn't very expressive due her lack of eyebrows and mouth, but I think her eyes and body language are enough :3

Also I tried a different shading technique where I outlined the shadows with a darker color! I like it! Though I probably won't use it for simple drawings and instead save it for more bigger/complicated drawings :3
