My favorite Aroid right now is definitely my 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 '𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵'. I love the heart shape of the leaves, which are unique in this genus in the fact that they do not divide as the plant matures. This cultivated variety is often mislabeled under the species 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘮, and is also known by the nickname ‘𝘐𝘤𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘵’. It is native to the Chiapas region of southern Mexico and Guatemala. Syngoniums might be one of my new favorite plants. These neotropical vines are native to humid forests from Mexico to South America. As houseplants, they love indirect light/shade, well-draining soil, and frequent watering. The most commonly encountered species is definitely 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘱𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘮. It comes in a wide range of cultivars, but my favorite currently in my collection is '𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘬'.
