Oswald Tanchot est le nouvel entraîneur du FC Sochaux-Montbéliard
Oswald Tanchot, qui aura 50 ans dans quelques semaines, est officiellement le nouvel entraîneur du FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Celui qui a notamment emmené le Havre AC en barrage d’accession à la Ligue 1 s’est engagé pour deux saisons.
Oswald Tanchot est né le 7 août 1973 à Mayenne, où il débute comme joueur. International français junior, il rejoint le centre de formation du Stade Lavallois en 1989. Le milieu de terrain offensif évolue en deuxième division en 1994/1995 après un prêt au FC Saint-Leu, puis poursuit sa carrière dans les divisions amateures à l’US Fécamp, l’AS Vitré, l’US Avranches, le Perpignan-Canet FC ou encore La Vitréenne FC à partir de 2004.
Après avoir dirigée des équipes de jeunes tout au long de sa carrière de joueur, Oswald Tanchot obtient le BEES 2, le DEF et prend en main la direction de son dernier club, La Vitréenne FC, alors qu’il 32 ans.
De la division d’honneur, le jeune entraîneur mène le club à deux promotions. Des performances qui lui permettent de s’engager avec Le Poiré-sur-Vie VF en 2011. Dans le club de National, Oswald Tanchot effectue durant quatre saisons un travail remarqué et est très proche d’accrocher un ticket pour la Ligue 2 en 2013. Il quitte le club vendéen au terme de la saison suivante.
Le monde du football professionnel attend Oswald Tanchot. Alors qu’il prépare le brevet d'entraîneur professionnel de football (BEPF, permettant d’entraîner une équipe pro) qu’il obtiendra en 2016, il est nommé adjoint de Bob Bradley en novembre 2015 au sein du Havre AC.
Après le départ de l’Américain pour Swansea City AFC un an plus tard, il devient entraîneur principal du HAC avec comme première rencontre la réception du… FCSM le 3 octobre 2016, avec un succès 2-1 à la clé. Une habitude pour Oswald Tanchot qui a remporté 5 victoires en 7 rencontres dirigées face aux Sochaliens.
Oswald Tanchot va officier lors de 121 matches de championnat sur le banc du club doyen, avec comme point d’orgue un barrage d’accession à la Ligue 1 au printemps 2018, terminé dans la confusion et un goût amer face à l’AC Ajaccio.
Le natif de Mayenne, qui a participé à lancer dans le grand bain de nombreux jeunes joueurs, quitte le HAC un an plus tard, en juin 2019. Il rebondit à l’Amiens SC en début de saison 2020/2021 comme adjoint de Lukas Elsner, puis comme entraîneur principal après le départ de celui-ci dès septembre. Oswald Tanchot mène à bien la mission-maintien en Ligue 2 BKT qui lui avait été assignée avant de quitter le club picard en juin 2021.
Oswald Tanchot a depuis connu une expérience au Volos FC qu’il a dirigé à l’été 2022, démissionnant en raison d’un contexte très difficile après seulement un match dans l’élite grecque et malgré une avant-saison réussie.
