+*SHIINA'S INFO PAGE+*
Tumblr media
The picture above is younger Shiina, before she was adopted into the Suzuki family, sorry for bad quality in advance T^T
RELATIVES
Kei Sato - Mother - (Dead)
Shin Sato - Father - (He left T^T)
Milo Suzuki - (Adopted) Cousin - Alive (@larz-barz's oc)
AUs
KIMETSU ACADEMY AU
DEATH AU
DEMON AU
REGULAR AU
PERSONALITY
Shiina is always on a short fuse, tending to lash out easily. She is only gentle to Milo and Nikko (@shycroissanti's oc) and would never yell at them or hurt them in any way.
BREATHING STYLE
Just like Genya, Shiina is breathless but makes up for it with exceptional physical strength and agility.
HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT THE HASHIRA
When asked about Obanai, she said she doesn't appreciate how prim he is, but she thinks his snake is cool.
About Mitsuri, when asked, she said she thinks she's very innocent and kind and respects her strength. But she thinks she should have burned that uniform when she had the chance.
When asked about Muichiro, she thinks he's kinda airheaded but respects his strength.
About Sanemi, she hates his guts. Actually. They're always getting into fights, and she wishes he'd never been born.
About Giyu, she doesn't mind him. He doesn't annoy her and is remarkably skilled in demon slaying, so she considers him a worthy acquaintance.
When asked about Gyomei, she said she doesn't talk to him much but respects him and his strength.
When asked about Shinobu, she flat out said: "She scares me."
About Rengoku, she respects him and considers him the elder brother she never had.
About Tengen, she thinks he needs to shut the hell up. Also she thinks he has too many wives.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(this was terrible T^T)

It is August 1 and so that means theoretically this is the last month of my little ocean horror phase/detour (I mean let’s be real will I stop? Probably not, it will probably extend into September at least but go with it). That means:
1. Last Call for Recs for ocean-horror related things.
Here’s what I’ve read/watched so far:
The Deep, Nick Cutter | Our Wives Under the Sea, Julia Armfield | “Fear of Depths” + “Fear of Big Things Underwater”, Jacob Geller | Into the Drowning Deep, Mira Grant | Underwater (2020) | r/thalassophobia + r/submechanophobia | The Deep House (2021) | 47 Meters Down (2017) + 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019) | The Toilers of the Sea, Victor Hugo (trans. James Hogarth) | Dark Water, Koji Suzuki (trans. Glynne Walley) | “Fear of the Deep”, Nexpo | Sea Fever (2019) | The Abyss (1989) | Open Water (2003) | From Below, Darcy Coates | Love, Death + Robots, “Bad Traveling" | “The Fog Horn”, Ray Bradbury + “A Descent into the Maelstrom”, Edgar Allen Poe collected in Stories of the Sea ed. Diana Secker Tesdell | Subnautica (2018)
And here is the queue:
Sphere (1997 adaptation)
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (either book or adaptation, we'll see what I have time for)
Whale Fall, Daniel Kraus (releasing in August! hoping I'm the first hold at the library, they have it listed as 'on order')
Leviathan (1989)
They Came From the Ocean, Boris Bacic
The Luminous Dead, Caitlin Starling (reread)
Anything glaring I’ve missed? I’m trying to avoid pure creature features, so that’s why there’s no Jaws despite it being a classic. Though it’s hard to avoid (honestly most of these have a creature) so I’m ok with there being a little creature as long as a substantial part of the fear/dread comes from the setting at first, rather than just a shark or cave monster or whatever. Anything submarine/diving/caves/etc, books/films/shows/podcasts, whatever you've got! And as you can see from the list of what I've got so far and the queue...doesn't have to be "good". XD Just has to involve the ocean and maybe be a little creepy. It's also ok if it's a little silly.
Not so much ocean horror related but my inspiration list is a little short for the second half of this fic (where the ocean gets a bit more metaphorical): anyone have anything good about near death experiences?
Drop recs in replies/in askbox!
2. Getting started on a new, thematically related knitting project that I am so excited about

Look at these colors. I am so excited.

mlb masterlist | main masterlist
Tumblr media
It was a late Monday night in early June and the Cubs were playing the Chicago White Sox. The stadium was filled with both Cubs and Sox fans, not a single seat was empty unless they went to the bathroom or they were getting food. They were crosstown rivals, of course, it was going to be packed.
Y/n was currently sitting in the suite at Wrigleyville with the other wives and girlfriends of the team. She had been married to Nico for almost a year and they were extremely happy together, despite them only being 26.
“When are you going to tell him?” Mallory asked from beside her. It was one of the rare days she was actually able to get out to one of her husband's games.
“Tell who what?” Y/n asked
“Tell Kyle,” Caroline added as she rangled her kids beside her.
“I was going to before the game, but I figured Kyle might act irrationally towards Nico and the team needs their second baseman today.”
Some of the girls let out chuckles, “True.”
Y/n looked down at her bracelet that had been adorned to her wrist since she and Nico started going out, “I don’t know. Kyle’s just so protective that I don’t want to tell him but at the same time, I do.
Emma nodded, “Yeah, I feel you, y/n/n”
Emma was Kyle’s wife. They had gotten married back in 2017 and she and y/n had been best friends since. They were only a few years apart so the age gap hadn’t really made a difference in their friendship.
Y/n continued to fiddle with her bracelet for the majority of the game, watching both her brother and husband play. She was always interested in baseball but her attention span never let her enjoy it a lot. She watched as Kyle threw the pitch and Abreu swung and missed. It was the top of the ninth with, now, two outs. Kyle had an excellent game going, not a perfect or no-hitter but a shutout, which was good nonetheless. He had kept pitches at a minimum which was why he was able to keep pitching until now.
While fiddling with her bracelet, throughout the game y/n also chatted with the other wives and girlfriends. She gets along with them well, but she is more reserved. She was on her phone checking the scores and standings of other teams. She liked to be up to date with the latest of what was happening in the MLB. Ranging from trade rumors, or actual trades, to injuries. As she was checking her phone, cheers erupted from around her. She looked up to see it was now the bottom of the ninth and Nico was up to bat.
Kyle had struck the last batter out in the top half and in the bottom half, both Gomes and Dansby had gotten out, while Suzuki and Tauchman got on. This was all followed by Happ, who had walked.
The bases were loaded, thanks to Happ’s walk. He stepped into the batter's box and took a deep breath. Y/n cheered silently to herself and prayed he would at least walk or hit a single. Nothing big, yet they needed three to win but two to tie. He just couldn’t get himself or anyone else out.
Nico hadn’t had this much pressure on him in a while. After getting injured earlier in the season when he was on his hot streak, he'd always complain to her that it set him back a little and he hadn't been performing as well as he should've been.
The first pitch Liam Hendriks had thrown to him was a curveball inside the strike zone. He had swung, missing it barely. Hendriks threw a few more pitches bringing the count to 2-2. With the addition of the second strike, Nico felt immense pressure.
Before stepping into the batter's box, he looked up to where the wife/girlfriend suite was and smiled as he imagined y/n cheering him on with his favorite smile. Y/n had been his biggest fan since they met back in 2019 when he got called up. Y/n always loved to meet the new guys on the team, knowing they’d be spending quite a bit of time together because of games.
When Hendriks threw his sixth pitch of the at-bat, one was fouled along with the other pitches, Nico had swung and it hit the ball. Not sure if it was going to drop or not, Tauchman - who was on second at the time - had bolted it to at least get the tying run. Though once the ball sailed across the ivy and every Cubs fan in the stands was on their feet, the four runners came to a slower jog, yet still keeping an upbeat pace.
Sox players started to walk back to the dugout as soon as Nico crossed home plate, some walking in beforehand. As Nico got to home plate he smiled at his team as they pulled him down into their huddle and “trying” not to rip his jersey. Yet they all knew if they did, y/n would give them all hell to pay.
After the game, Nico had to do his interview with Taylor as he hit the walk-off grand slam just moments ago. Nico stood next to Taylor as she held a microphone in front of her, “So Nico, how does it feel to hit the walk-off hit, let alone the grand slam?”
“Oh you know, it’s great. Just hearing the cheers of the fans and my team was really motivating and I’m glad I got to help them in a victory.”
“You mentioned the fans and your team cheering you on but I couldn’t help but notice your glance towards the wife/girlfriend suite. How has y/n been with you playing and all?”
“She’s been great.” Nico smiled, “It’s nice to have someone to talk about baseball with and she’s understanding when something happens or I got injured back in May. She understands the game so well, even if her attention span is limited,” he laughs, “she loves watching her brother play and she tells me she always looks forward to the games I get to play in. She’s been so supportive of me and when I have my rough days it’s nice to just have her with me.”
“Well, good job today Nico and-'' Taylor quickly moved out of the way as both Happ and Rizzo came up behind Nico and dumped the Gatorade-sponsored container over him, leaving him sopping wet.
Taylor smiled as Nico composed himself, “Well as I was saying, good job today Nico, and have a great rest of your night.”
“Thanks, Taylor, you too.”
Nico walks away and goes to shower and change. During the interview, y/n slowly made her way down to the clubhouse, knowing the stadium like the back of her hand. As she gets there, she sits down against the wall and fiddles with the rings and bracelets adorned on her hands. As she continues to sit, she thinks about what Mallory, Caroline, and Emma said. She knew she would have to tell Kyle soon, but was just scared about how he was going to react.
Tears filled her eyes at all the different outcomes this situation could have. She didn’t want Kyle to be mad or unsupportive of her. She continued to run through the scenarios that could happen when a hand was placed on her shoulder. When she looked up, Patrick was standing above her, his bag on his shoulder and Tauchman and Happ were next to him.
“Hey guys.”
“Hey, you okay?”
“Yeah, why?”
Happ helped her stand, “You had tears in your eyes.”
“I did?”
“Yeah, what’s going on?”
“Nothing, promise.”
The three nodded their heads warily and said their goodbyes, “Wait!”
The three turned around, panic filled in their eyes, “Where’s my hug?”
They laughed and hugged her, and then parted ways. Y/n stood outside for another five to ten minutes when Kyle walked out of the clubhouse.
“Hey.” Y/n pushed herself off the wall and gave Kyle a hug.
“Can we talk?”
Kyle nodded, “Sure what’s up?”
Y/n guided him to walk around the stadium in silence. She kept glancing at him for about a minute or two until she spoke, “Promise you won’t get mad?”
‘’Course I wouldn't. Why would I?”
“When I told mom and dad, they kind of freaked out. Then they made sure I knew that I was no longer their daughter.”
Kyle looked at her in shock, “Are you pregnant?”
Y/n slowly nodded, eyes filling with tears once more. Kyle saw the tears, one by one, fall down her face, “I know we’re young, but you know me, I’ve always wanted to be a mom. And even if I didn’t, I do now.” He quickly pulled her into a hug, petting her head ever so slightly, knowing it gave her comfort. They sat in silence, only the cries of y/n being heard.
“I’m not mad at you, I promise. I’m here, Nico’s here, you have the whole team and the wives and girlfriends. Trust me, you’re not alone.”
Y/n cried for a few minutes it seemed like, but in reality, they left to talk about 15 minutes ago. Knowing they should head back as both Emma and Nico would be worried their SOs weren’t where they usually would be waiting for one or the other.
They walked back in complete silence, y/n tucked under Kyle’s arm. Kyle was thinking about how his sister would be having kids before him and y/n was thinking about baby names and how she would decorate the nursery.
When they got back, Nico was trying to call y/n and Emma was pacing around the hallway outside the clubhouse. Emma was the first to realize they were back and ran to hug both of them. When she pulled away, she took notice of y/n’s slightly puffy eyes, “You told him.” It was more of a statement than a question.
Y/n nodded and Kyle looked at his wife and sister, “You knew?”
“I only found out yesterday.”
Kyle nodded and Nico then made his way over to the group and pulled y/n into a hug, “How’d it go?”
“Good.” Y/n smiled.
The two couples walked to their cars and said their goodbyes. Nico and y/n drove home with the radio playing softly in the background.
“I’m proud of you.”
Nico looked at his wife, smiled, and reached over to grab her hand, “I love you.”
Y/n smiled once more, “I love you.”

More details about Moon’s sexual providence of pikareum explained by his son, Sam Park
youtube
Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church began as a sex cult.
Some more details about Sun Myung Moon’s sexual providence of pikareum are explained in the first section of this video. Sam Park and Donna Orme, representing second generation members, speak. Park goes into how Moon claimed sex with every one of the women in the initial Blessing ceremonies (at least all the 36 and the 72 couples who were known as the “royal couples”). Then the men had their choice of three women to have sex with. Early members used these experiences to blackmail each other. The early couples were all given cars by the church, and other perks to keep them in. But at least 10 of the 36 couples left and couples from the 72 group were promoted to the 36 group. Moon made huge demands on these early Korean members.
Sam and Donna concluded their talk by saying, "We want to continue to tell the truth about the second and third generations. We don't want to see more traumatized second-generation people. We want to walk the road to recovery together with them.” (translated to English from the Japanese translation of their talk.)
This video is of a conference held in Japan on September 16, 2022, organized by the National Network of Lawyers Against the Spiritual Sales. Two Japanese 2nd gen gave testimonies. Lawyers, ministers and journalists gave presentations, one of the last by journalist Eito Suzuki who spoke about the Moon church’s involvement with Japanese politics. This helped LDP members get elected – and they protected the UC. Suzuki’s book,  Liberal Democratic Party polluted by the Unification Church – Tracking 3000 Days, will be published in late September 2022. It is now in the top ten on the Japanese Amazon sales list.

Hello I really love your writing and I was wondering if you can give me a list of your favorite books or some that you can recommend. I’m trying to get back into reading and I thought why not ask you since one you’re my favorite writer and two we have similar interests sorry if this comes off weird
not weird at all! Here are some off the top of my head:
Small Spaces by Katherine Arden (obviously)
My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix
Dark Water by Suzuki Koji
The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
IT by Stephen King
Carrie by Stephen King
The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson (really, anything by Shirley Jackson)
Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay (okay, not quite horror but mystery)
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
Goth by Otsuichi
On the non-horror side of things:
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle
Wicked: the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Prince Ombra by Roderick MacLeish
Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
A Little Princess  Frances Hodgson Burnett
Also re: Prince Ombra, since it’s really not a popular book. I love this book. The basic premise is that the reason why everyone has that little groove above their lips is because right before you leave heaven, an angel puts their finger to your lips and says: Hush! Don’t tell what you know. And then once every while, a child is born without this groove, and it’s because they’re supposed to remember everything so they can try to fight Prince Ombra aka evil/darkness/hate incarnate. In the book, the one chosen to fight Ombra in this generation is a young boy named Bentley.
If you get it, make sure you are not reading the 2002 reprint with the gold cover from Starscape; this version is abridged and basically ruined. Go for the older print editions from the 1980s. The book contains child sexual abuse, violence/death, and other heavy themes. This 2002 edition was like 'oh well let's take out massive chunks of the story related to anything remotely dark so we can market it to modern young readers, rendering the story nonsensical in the process.’ So don't get that version.
