Chihuahua in the Studio
Tumblr media
Reggie was a typical chihuahua – a LOT of energy and very definite ideas on how he wanted to use it up!
Photographing this breed has a couple of challenges – one is definitely getting them to stay still and the other, when you have achieved your first objective is getting those trademark ears to stand to attention.  A good application of patience, treats and concealed squeakers usually get the job done! English Bulldog Portrait Photo Shoot
Tumblr media
This lovely young lady is Miss Pickles and she came to visit for her portrait photo shoot recently at the studio.
She certainly had a big personality and definitely had ideas about where she was prepared to pose although she did seem to get quite comfortable on my chaise longue.  Who can blame her?  It’s a super comfy spot…When you book a dog photo shoot, there’s obviously an element of unpredictability that is involved.  I always have a plan but sometimes we just need to go with the flow and see where that takes us!  We’ll still get great images and you’ll have a happy puppy! New Dog Photography Artwork at the Studio
Tumblr media
There was a blank piece of wall at my studio which obviously was unacceptable to me so I took the chance to add a couple of bits of new artwork and, as I didn’t have any of my dog photographs, this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Dog photography at the studio was new for this year and, although I love all of my clients, I have had absolutely the most fun with my four legged visitors.  The historical portrait digital artwork is something I’ve been working on just for the pure joy of it! Read the full article

Bailey the Pomchi and Dog Photography
Tumblr media
When I first met Bailey, I knew he would be a joy to photography.  Not only is an adorable little Pomchi, he’s also pretty chilled out.
This fact was borne out when he came to visit for his dog photo shoot, wherever we put him – on the chaise, in a bowl, in a trolley – he just lay down and relaxed.  Pretty much the perfect little dog model.Obviously I don’t put all dogs into trolleys and the like but when you have such a tiny little guy as this one, it’s very hard to resist adding in some newborn style props! Dog Photo Shoot with a Cute Little Prop
Tumblr media
This very proud little lady came to visit for her official portrait and, although I don’t tend to use a lot of props when it comes to dog photography, she just seemed the perfect size for this little grey chair.
It is actually designed to be a dog bed although I originally bought it as it is just the right size for little people but it is a great prop for smaller dogs and especially for more senior dogs as it is nice and low to the ground which makes it easy for them to get on and off.  As with mobile little people, it can be really useful to give a dog a little spot to focus on for their photos – the temptation to run around and sniff everything is pretty great at a new location and so a little gentle encouragement to stay still for a little minute is a great thing. I have a collection of chairs, boxes, bowls and crates that we can use for just this purpose so you get the perfect picture of your dog, still and focused with their personality shining through. Aldi Dog Beds in the Studio
Tumblr media
My little pink chair is often used at my newborn and baby photo shoots but, in reality, it is a dog bed.  Bought from Aldi out of the Special Buy section because I thought it looked the perfect size for little people.
Here it is however, fulfilling it’s original purpose as a great place for a pooch to take a rest in their photo shoot.   She was snug as a bug in a rug settled in there and I couldn’t resist adding just a few florals.  Generally in dog photography, I tend to keep things quite simple and classic but this temptation was just to much and a little prop and decoration just crept in there!
