once again thinking about SGF methodically replacing one shot per video of the RE7 intro with an equivalent from illbleed until it had been fully ship-of-thesus'd
Hey @supergreatfrien , good luck with Bubsy 3D this weekend! I hear that back in ‘96, Gamespot said: “The result…[is] detailed and cartoony… The animation is… excellent…!…In short, Bubsy moves… as smoothly as Lara, the heroine in Tomb Raider, or Crash Bandicoot.”
alone in the dark 2008 is like ‘Carnby investigated the suicide of Jeremy Hartwood' he did not that bitch drove out there to loot a piano for a antique shop
I fucking love this game. I'm watching @supergreatfrien play through it from years ago and it's still so good. It doesn't seem to be on Tumblr much, most of the witness tag is destiny stuff.
I don't know why I love it so much, it's just... pretty and big and oddly enthralling and just makes me feel calm and happy. Even with all the frustrations in later puzzles.
A long, long time ago now, you drew a little Hulku-chan doodle in response to me complimenting your prior Doki Doki Love Stomp fan art. I'm sure I said "thank you" at the time, but I wanted to say it again; thank you for that- I still have it (and the OG fanart) saved on me laptop, and I still think about both to this day every time a post of yours crosses my dashboard.
Found it~
That is such a sweet memory, and I also have fond ones thinking back on Doki Doki Love Stomp! It was one of the games that encouraged me to pick Ren'Py back up. I hadn't used it since 2012, but then later on that year I tried my hand at making a visual novel again.
May your most powerful variables always equal true, and forget not the word of the Christ:
"Hey, Bully Demise, what's your problem? Touch me again and I'll kill you!"

Screenshots from the 1992 survival horror game Alone in the Dark. I think these summarize the game nicely. The game begins and then you die. Over and over again. Here's an LP from the indefatigable supergreatfriend.
thinking about that genre that SGF occasionally dives into. offputting british science fiction games from the 90s released on the ps1.
sentient is of course the best entry into this genre so far, it’s a weird ugly little game that I find kind of captivating in both its oddness and the fact that the time limits for each objective place you in a roll where you are functionally playing as someone caught in a timeloop on a space station doomed to fall into the sun
quantum gate is an fmv fever dream. hypnotic. racist. uncomfortable. as he said himself 'this game makes me feel like there’s something wrong with me'
martian gothic feels like a cult hit without the cult status. the lady from the prisoner tv series is there voicing a sexy ai. its offbeat and unhelpful and unfairly hard. the characters are detached and snarky in a particularly aggravating way that makes solving puzzles even harder because they won’t just say what shit is when you examine items. it feels like a game that’s mad you’re trying to play it.
