He’s perceptive.

You and the coach would come in too scheduled. Coach Ukai would enter first and then about 10 minutes later you would, looking somewhat disheveled. It’d happen almost every practice. He didn’t know what to do. Was the coach taking advantage of you?

So he brings it up to Daichi, who then tells Asahi, who then tells Kiyoko. Only the third years know, but just like Sugawara, they don’t know what to do.

He thinks back to when he asked you who your new boyfriend was and the way you stuttered about... almost like you were trying to make up a lie on the spot. It all made sense now.

So he catches you in the hallway one day. As much as you try and come up with excuses, you know Suga isn't dumb and so you tell him.

You tell him everything from the start. You tell him you’re fine with it now, that essentially it lead you to actually being together.

The look on his face makes you wish you never agreed to talk with him.

“What do you mean?” his fists are clenched tight, teeth gritted.

“Suga...”

“No, tell me. What do you mean?”

“We… We had sex. I only did it so that he’d come and coach the team, but then he said that if we didn’t continue he’d stop coaching… everything is fine now.”

He’s silent for a moment and you could almost see the gears in his head-turning.

There are tears in his eyes as he snaps at you, “Why didn’t you just stop?!”

“Suga, you have to understand! Look at where he’s gotten us—”

“Y/N.”

You continue, “—If I didn’t do that, we’d still be the wingless crows—”

“Y/N!”

“—You guys wouldn’t have any games to play!”

He grabs you by your shoulders, grip bruising. How are you okay with this? He’s known you since you were kids and the thought of you... you together with an older guy who essentially blackmailed you? It doesn’t sit right with him. He can’t let you do this.

You two don’t know about Hinata and Kageyama just around the corner, eyes wide at the new information.

As much as Kageyama tries to put some sense into Hinata’s head... he can’t. It takes one slip of the mouth in the club room for the whole team to know.

Hinata is jittery. He can’t hold it in much longer and as much as Kageyama tries to make eye contact with him, to plead with him not to let this get out. It doesn’t work.

“Y/N is sleeping with the coach!”

Everything is still.

Sugawara’s eyes are the size of volleyballs. Daichi and Asahi feel like they’re having an out of body experience.

“Dude... what are you talking about?” Tanaka chuckles awkwardly. He wants to laugh, but he’s seen it too. The coach giving you lingering looks and unnecessary touches. He just hopes it isn’t true.

“Hinata,” Kageyama hisses out.

“We heard Sugawara and her talking out in the hallway! She’s only doing it be—!”

“Shut up!”

In a last-ditch effort, Kageyama tackles him to the floor.

No one knows what to do, but they all know. Their suspicions are confirmed.

It seems like things are tense now.

Every time Ukai asks you to stay back, Sugawara lingers to walk you home or he magically has plans that he needs you to attend with him. You haven’t told Ukai anything, but he can only assume. It only becomes a problem when all the boys seem to be taking up your time now.

You don’t know that the team knows, so the sudden influx of them trying to hang out confuses you.

“Hey Y/N!” a duo of voices shout as you’re walking home.

“Oh... Nishinoya! Tanaka! Hey!” you call.

Once they get closer Nishinoya speaks, “We were wondering if you wanted to come over.”

You would, but Keishin asked you to come over tonight.

“I’m sorry but I really can’t. My mom needs me home.”

You’re rubbing the back of your neck. They know this is what you do whenever you lie.

“Oh come on! Big sis wants to see you!” Nishinoya spews out.

“Yeah... she was saying that she really misses you!” Tanaka yells.

Their loudness makes you flinch. You’d never pass up a chance to hang out with Saeko and the boys, but... Keishin.

“I really can’t. She—”

“I’m sure your mom would understand!” Nishinoya cuts you off before you can finish.

“Come on!” Tanaka slings his arm around your shoulder, taking you in the direction of his house.

Keishin’s not pleased by any of it, but what can he do? He certainly can’t come out and talk about it with the team! No one is supposed to know about you two, so he can only sit by and watch you get taken away.

You can’t fuck in the locker room anymore.

Kiyoko waits until your actually finished dressing, so you can both leave at the same time. She talks to you about your managerial duties and what you’re planning on doing once you two graduate.

You can’t get risky and fuck at the store.

Someone from the team is always with you when you walk in. Sometimes it’s the first years or all the third years, but it doesn’t matter.

There’s always someone latched onto you.

At practice, Takeda doesn’t know what's going on, but the way Sugawara keeps glaring and talking back to the coach isn’t good. Everyone on the team knows why, but what can they do? They can only keep Ukai and you separated for so long and with graduation coming up they just hope their efforts aren’t in vain.

You’re your own person, but they can’t deny the way everything started out.

They can’t deny how wrong it is.
