The Spedition Hotel & Restaurant in Thun, Switzerland was once home to the cheese, fur, and leather-trading company Gerber and was transformed into a 3-star design hotel recently crowned by UNESCO and Architects Union (Prix-Versailles) with the special prize world’s best interior design 2017. The design comes from the creative, Scandinavian Design Agency Stylt Trampoli.

Stlyt Trampoli : The Hide Hotel Flims

Le Hide Hotel Flim se situe à Graubünden (Suisse), perché sur le tout récent Stenna Building érigé en début d'année. Le cabinet d'architecture Stylt Trampoli repense pour l'occasion la façon dont une station de ski s'inscrit dans la contemporanéité pour allier confort et sophistication dans la tradition alpine, à la manière d'un décor signé Wes Anderson. A quelques mètres à peine des pistes, l'hôtel résonne avec l'extérieur qui attire chaque année de nombreux skieurs. Les terrasses traversantes à plusieurs niveaux fusionnent avec les éternelles montagnes suisses, ce qui inscrit sensiblement le bâtiment dans la topographie qui l'environnement. L'ensemble ne se contente pas d'une enveloppe vernaculaire : entre le crépitement des cheminées, une agréable bibliothèque et une canopée de canapé

Erik Nissen Johansen is the man behind the breathtaking yet homely hotel, HUUS Gstaad, set 1,111m meters above sea level in the Swiss Alpine region of Switzerland. 

“The main asset in the fantastic nature” he tells The Plus, “it’s the hotel that really encourages you to go out there and explore”
