Happy Blog-versary @storyweaverofgondor !!!! 🙆♀️♥♥ For the Cat-ucopia event I selected Cats Kilworth House 2019 because everything about that production is just so interesting and I've always wanted to draw something from it! For this artwork my initial plan was to just draw Tugger, but then I kept looking at the costume designs and set designs and going down a rabbit hole and AH what the heck let's draw the all three Doot Bros HAHA
I was struggling to paint like how I usually do when I was working on this painting so I changed it up a little and tried out something different this time! I referenced Kishimoto's colored art for Naruto and tried to replicate it with digital art, hopefully it works xD; it's definitely something different! Thank you so much to @storyweaverofgondor for hosting this event and for being such a wonderful member of the CATS fandom!! ♥♥ Here's to another year of funky lil cats dancing away 🥰♥

Day 21 of Cats-pril by @storyweaverofgondor - songs! This one was inspired by one of my favourite pieces of art by @soh-da-meatball - thank you for letting me use it as inspiration!)

Tugger barely contained a snarl as there was a chap at the door for the third time that day. What part of ‘DO NOT DISTURB’ did these Cats not understand? His handwriting, granted, was not spectacularly neat, but surely with the big red letters, the message was clear? Apparently not.
He had been trying to work on this new song all day. Although he was a professional musician, he really didn’t enjoy working in the studio. Too many nosey Cats loitering about, and there was always the very real chance of getting dragged into a conversation with some dull executive type. Tugger shuddered at the thought. No, it was much better to finalise as much as he could at home, and then just come here to record. Tragically however, a building site had set itself up next door, and any peace to be had at home was now shattered by constant drilling and hammering. So here he was in the studio, at the mercy of constant interruptions.
This song he was working on was already causing him no end of problems – no matter what he tweaked, how he edited, it just wasn’t coming out the way he wanted it to. Being interrupted once, perhaps, he could’ve let go – after all, it wasn’t the piano tuner’s fault he had been sent to the wrong room. He had taken a while to get back into the zone, but had managed, and had been trying out a new chord progression when there was another rap on the door. That time he had been pissed. The Cat at the door had been hissing about some meeting he was late for, and utterly adamant that Tugger was in the wrong place and he was in the right one. Shockingly, he had been wrong, and had stomped off in a temper tantrum. Tugger was also left in a foul mood, except now his throat hurt from their snarled argument, and he had forgotten his water bottle.
He decided to give the song one more crack before giving up the day as a bad job. Once again, he had just managed to get his head back into it when the door rattled YET AGAIN. He had officially had it. Whoever was on the other side of that door would be getting thoroughly chewed out!
He yanked the door open full force, so roughly that the hinges squeaked in protest, but then his anger evaporated on the spot. He let out a little yelp of happiness and engulfed his boyfriend in a bear hug.
“Rough day?” Misto asked, amusement in his voice. He stepped back from Tugger slightly. It didn’t look like he had dance today, he was dressed casually in jeans, with Tugger’s old letterman jacket thrown across his shoulders. It was a very pleasing sight.
“Babe, you have no idea,” Tugger groaned, kicking the door closed behind them. He slumped back onto his chair and pulled Misto into his lap. “Working here sucks so bad! I’ve been interrupted twice, and the second guy was a right prick, going on about how important he was, how urgent his meeting was… mate, if it was that important you’d have checked your email better!”
Misto hummed in sympathy, reaching up to fix Tugger’s hair. The gentle scratch of his claws was unexpectedly soothing.
“My apologies for the intrusion.” He flicked Tugger’s forehead with his tail. “I’ve never seen a door be opened so aggressively, I presume that’s why?”
“Sorry, baby, I wouldn’t shout at you,” Tugger mumbled, dropping his head onto Misto’s shoulder. He already was feeling a bit better – Misto always had that effect on him.
“I know,” Misto said, his paws continuing their relaxing ministrations. Tugger felt some of the tension begin to fade. “I know you don’t like working here, hopefully the builders will finish soon.”
“Yeah, hopefully.”
“Is this song still giving you grief as well?”
“Yeah. I dunno what’s wrong, I just can’t get it!”
“You will, darling. Oh, this might help, you forgot it.” He reached for his backpack which had been dumped unceremoniously on the floor, and whipped out Tugger’s water bottle.
“Aw babe, you’re a hero,” Tugger gasped, reaching over to take it.
“I added some honey and lemon, I know you like that when you’ve been singing.”
Tugger let out a happy moan.
“Make that a superhero, I love you.” He took a large chug from the water bottle, letting the mixture soothe his throat.
“The Rumpus Cat has nothing on honey lemon water,” Misto laughed. Tugger pulled him into another tight hug. Everlasting, he adored this beautiful, thoughtful Cat. “I know you don’t like sharing your stuff before it’s finished, but if you want a fresh pair of ears, I can provide.”
“If you’ve got time?” Tugger mumbled. He usually didn’t like anyone to hear his music before he was happy with it, but he trusted Misto completely. He himself was much the same, and didn’t let anyone see his dancing before he had perfected it. Unless he was really stuck, like Tugger was now.
“Of course, practice was cancelled today. And since you hate working here, I was hoping to convince you to skive off early and hang out with me anyway.”
“Like I need convincing!” Tugger whooped, grabbing his headphones off the desk. “One or two listens, then I get to spoil you in some way!”
“Deal,” Misto laughed, slipping the headphones over his ears and indicating Tugger to hit play. A little smile formed on his face and he leaned into Tugger as the music started. Tugger watched him contentedly. Suddenly, the song didn’t seem so bad.

THE DAY HAS COME. Happy blogiversary @storyweaverofgondor!!! I don’t know you super well but I’ve seen your writing & art around the fandom and can’t get enough of either. Thank you for letting me join this stellar event!!
My production was... Cats, Original Broadway Cast! Aka Grey Spreads His Tumbletoria Propoganda.
I LOVE THESE TWO. Tumblebrutus was often the one to do the pas de deux on Bway, since he got like, a character arc to match Victoria’s. :) And I got some HCs for them too!!!! And a short story about Goldenlonzo and Plato!! All under the cut... 👀
Victoria is a housepet who visits the junkyard with her father Bustopher..
Tumblebrutus is a former housecat, rescued from a hoarding situation with his best friend Pouncival.
The first time he sees her he thinks that it must be the Jellicle Moon itself in cat form. He has a crush immediately but Victoria doesn’t really notice him
Oh but Tumble adores everything about her — her silky smooth fur, her gracefulness, how kind she is to everyone, how she seems a bit chilly at first but is actually very warm and fun-loving like any other kitten…
She’s not at the junkyard very often so they don’t see much of each other :(
But, but, one time when she was visiting with Bustopher, he was trying to show off a back handspring to Pouncival, and didn’t stick the landing. He fell right over, right in front of Vic. He was totally mortified, until she laughed softly, asked if he was okay, and whispered something to Bustopher that may or may not have ended up getting him a bit of extra trout when it was time to eat.
The Ball we watch is the first Ball Tumble has ever attended, cause though he’d been in the tribe for a bit, he joined right after the last one. Watching Victoria do the White Cat Solo, he became totally determined to at least dance with her once.
His opportunity came during the middle of the Jellicle Ball, when everyone else had paired off and it was just them… he may have gotten really excited and literally headbutted her, on accident, but she didn’t seem to mind too much. :’D They danced at the Ball and Tumble feels the need to slap himself multiple times afterwards to make sure he’s not dreaming.
The pas de deux at the Ball was very much a one-time thing, though, since Victoria didn’t really show much more interest in Tumble after that — which was perfectly fine by him, as his crush started to abate a bit. He still admires her deeply for her dancing technique and her sweet personality, and hopes they can be better friends some day, though. :D
~~YOU HAVE NOW ENTERED THE FUNKY ZONE. Short little drabble about Plato & Lonz, Broadway besties, during the Tumbletoria pas de deux!~~
Plato and Alonzo were sitting together, off to the side of the junkyard, contently watching Victoria and Tumblebrutus dance together. Plato sighed and laid down, looking up at them with almost-longing eyes. “Oh, young love. Those two are adorable, aren’t they?”
“‘Oh, young love’?” Alonzo said, scoffing lightheartedly. “You’re not much older than those two, you know. But this must be Tumble’s dream come true. He’s had the eyes for her forever, it’s gotten a bit insufferable.”
“Insufferable? You’re insufferable, how about that. You’re just jealous that it’s not you and Demeter up there right now.” Plato nudged his friend, looking pointedly at the yellow queen who lay with Bombalurina on the other side of the junkyard.
“I’ve not a clue what you mean,” Alonzo said innocently, “and as if you’re one to talk. Don’t think you’re subtle with how you’ve been staring at Bomba.”
Plato sputtered, then pouted, looking up at Alonzo. “Not that obvious, I hope?”
Alonzo rolled his eyes.
“Shush.”
“I said nothing!” he protested. Sighing dramatically, Alonzo rested his head atop Plato’s and looked back at Victoria and Tumblebrutus, the latter of whom had just set the former back down again. Both were looking at each other with sickeningly sweet eyes. “Young love,” he conceded softly, and dodged Plato’s upward swipe at him with a laugh.

Munkustrap is REALLY conflicted about Grizabella—watching Munkustrap’s Face Journey is one of my favorite parts of this show
Interesting with Barbara Griz he wasn’t so aggressive during their Show down—in fact he reaches for her with a conflicted, yearning look on his face, then turns and leaps away. It absolutely parallels Demeter, and I didn’t see it with any of the other Grizabellas.
Munkustrap does look at her with pity for a good portion of the show. There is a History Here. (Also Barbara is Smol and Alex is Tol and it is extremely adorable)
Aulerstrap was FERAL tonight folks
The Demestrap PDA was pretty intense and hilarious tonight.
I mean it’s always there, but Anneke and Alex played it up to the nines
During Moments of Happiness when Munk goes to stretch out elegantly at the front of the stage he smolders at Demeter and slowlllly stretches his leg out. And Demeter gives him a look over her shoulder.
As Tugger is trying to convince everyone to give Misto a chance, they are TOTALLY MAKING OUT in the dark like DAMN you two get a room!
Munk raising up above Demeter and stroking down her leg before they fall down in to the cuddle pile 😳😳
(Bomba is there too on the other side. In fact Tugger, Munk, Demeter, and Bomba kind of curl up together)
Munkustrap doesn’t want Bomba there when Tugger appears—perhaps their combined energy would make the stage combust or something XD
(She comes back later when Munk is relaxing in the back and going with the flow)
Petra is an elegant and sexy Bomba. Anneke is showy and voluptuous. Birgit is reserved and seductive. I loved them all but I think Anneke’s might be my favorite.

Sinisi Tugger and Aulerstrap are Gay Pirate Boyfriends. While Snova Tugger was a little jealous of Munk’s crush on Griddle, and Dominick’s Tugger had more of a crush than Munk, clearly both of them here have a thing for Griddle and they are 100% on board with that. Also it takes them ages to get Comfy in the Oven!!

for those who don't know, i have a cats the musical OC named Hestia (again, Hestia is my favorite goddess, and the use of Greek mythology names has become a bit of a joke between some mutuals and I), and she's my main OC whom i love so dearly, so 3/4 of these fanart pieces include her!
first off is the Encanto AU art and ohhhhhh this au art is honestly everything to me, it's by @hufferysnuffery, based on an AU we made together using our OCs, and every so often i look back on this and fall even more in love like can you LOOK at the detail in these???? LOOK AT MY BABY ANTHEA SHE'S SO SWEET AND PRECIOUS 😭

“It’s official,” Teazer whined, dumping her books on the dining room table, “nothing happened in 1981.”
“That seems statistically unlikely,” her roommate and girlfriend Victoria replied, not even looking up from her own fat textbook about art in the 16th century or something. Not for the first time, Teazer wished she had taken the art history module instead of just history to make up her uni credits, at least then Vic could have helped her. But she had thought it’d be boring, looking at old paintings of fruit or whatever. Loads of interesting stuff had happened in the past, just not, apparently, in 1981. Sure, stuff had happened that was of global importance, but it was all way too complicated to make a short presentation on, or way too depressing.
“Well, probably, but like, nothing I’d actually be interested in giving a presentation on.”
“You were very insistent on choosing history,” Victoria said drily, looking up with a raised brow.
“I know,” Teazer groaned, collapsing onto the chair opposite Victoria. “I have made a terrible mistake and now I’m being punished for it. It was meant to be fun! Like, knights firing cannons at enemy castles and stuff, not boring politics!”
Victoria sighed.
“I did tell you I thought you’d prefer the art history module.”
“I know!”
“Does your presentation have to be on an important historic event, or just something that interests you?”
“Something that interests me, but I swear there’s nothing!”
“Hmm.”
“Can you think of something?” Teazer begged. “Did any fun art happen in 1981? Help me, Tori-wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope!”
“Admit I was right, and then I’ll help you,” Victoria said, an evil grin spreading across her face. Dammit! She was never going to let Teazer forget this one. But desperate times called for desperate measures.
Teazer bounded around the table, taking Victoria’s hand in her own and kneeling down.
“My sweet, beautiful, intelligent Victoria, you were right, and I was a fool and a jester. Art history is a million times better than just history, and I should’ve listened to you. Please, take pity, and help me out.”
Victoria giggled.
“That will do, Teaz,” she laughed, putting on her best regal air. “If it doesn’t have to be a major event, that film you like came out in 1981, I’m sure. The one with Harrison Ford and the big round boulder?”
“Raiders of the Lost Ark? Indy? No way!” Teazer dived over to her phone and checked to confirm. Yup, there it was. 1981. Who’d’ve thunk? She could make a fantabulous presentation on the cultural impact of Indiana Jones!
“You’re a lifesaver, Vic, honestly!” she whooped and rushed to hug her girlfriend.
“Yes, I know,” she replied smugly. “Next time, pick the subject where you can just make the meanings up and say they’re ‘your personal interpretations’.”
“Trust and believe, Vic, I’m deferring all my life choices to you from now on!”

@jelliclekay's Artemis is so cool!! I love seeing stuff about them and get very hyped whenever i see new content or art about them
obviously @storyweaverofgondor's OCs are lovely, but i'm so excited to hear more about her Protector OCs because they're probably my favorites
and also i can't NOT shout out @hufferysnuffery's two boys Antoinette and Hermes because we love the angst that they've created for these two is so *chef's kiss*
