hi y'all. im sorry ive been off tumblr lately but im here. also i just finished the final ep of stranger things 4 and i have heavily mixed feelings
#HI. IM GONNA RAMBLE IN THE TAGS BECAUSE I CAN.#GOD i have such mixed feelings on the ending!! tbh i have mixed feelings on the season as a whole!!#i know everyone absolutely loves s4 and ppl are calling it the best season and i definitely enjoyed it but like...#i dont feel like it even comes close to being the best season? like dont get me wrong. it was cool. i liked most of the characters they -#- introduced. i liked the concept for the story. the visuals were super cool and the writing was solid.#but it just feels like its kind of beating a dead horse y'know? there were so many plotholes and so many unanswered questions#not in like a cliffhanger kind of way. but just in a We Tried Putting Way Too Much Into One Season And It's Paying The Price#also like. apparently they're planning on doing a season 5?? what???#i love the series as much as the next guy but.. that's just too much. there's only so much you can do with a series like this.#idk. i loved the first ep or two of season one but it kind of dropped off for a while until the final few eps#its hard to type out my thoughts but ive been rambling to myself loudly in the living room bc my mom passed out like half an hour ago and -#- i swear my thoughts are more cohesive irl. i have SO much to talk about but there's not enough room to type it out and i feel really -#- stupid for rambling out when no one cares online but it's no different than rambling to someone who's passed tf out so idk#okay. back to my rambling.#for a lot of the characters it just really felt like they like. went backwards with character development at first.#the character had the exact same growth in season 3 except it made sense then. now they're just doing it over again.#mike goes from being an immature and kinda self centered dude to a caring and mature boyfriend for el.#steve pines over nancy but steps back because he's more mature than he was and doesn't wanna ruin her relationship with jonathan#robin faces her insecurities to help her friends#will ambiguously pines over mike and doesn't want things to change but relents because change is inevitable#lucas wants to fit in with the 'cool kids '' more than his friends do but he still chooses his friends over anyone else#dustin is the nerd with a heart of gold who plays a big part in the success of the team#el tries to fit in and lead a normal life but realizes that that's bullshit. also she saves the day at the end as usual.#jonathan is kinda shitty towards the start but tries to make it up by the end and mostly does that. nancy is conflicted bc of steve so -#- jonathan kind of knows and he can't really make it up entirely to her.#nancy is badass who loves jonathan but also kinda loves steve and she's emotionally shut off so she just lets it sit and it bleeds out -#- into her interactions with others. the trauma doesn't help either. she still comes through tho bc she's a loyal friend who deeply cares#it just feels so similar to s3. idk. they've already gone through this development once before so seeing it again just feels stale.#im about to hit the tag limit but i wanna keep going so i might make more posts i think. idk.#we'll see how it works out tonight! im so sorry y'all for the brainrot

Since my other post about Nancy Wheeler/Stancy and TS's Slut! decided not to show up in the tag, I'm gonna make another longer one (take that, tumblr algorithm😂).
Music is such an incredible thing. When I listen to this song, close my eyes, and put myself in the shoes of season 1-2 Nancy Wheeler, my stomach actually ties itself into a knot. It's like I can FEEL everything she was feeling during that time and it breaks my heart.
All she wanted to do was try being a typical teenager for a while -- to party with the cool kids and date a goofy jock with a heart of gold. She felt the magnitude of Steve's feelings for her, and she returned them in her own way. He made her feel safe and carefree and cared for all at the same time.
But, God, it was so much more complicated for her. She had her disapproving loved ones in her ear telling her over and over again that this relationship was wrong. This heart-fluttering teen dream romance wasn't really HER (do i not deserve to be happy?), she was being selfish and silly and letting him turn her into someone she's not (i don't deserve to be happy). No one believed her promises that Steve was a good guy, or trusted her to avoid being used in a relationship.
Then she had her guilt about Barb. Early s2 she knew Steve couldn't support her in the way she needed, but she kept urging him to try. I think more than anything she wanted to take refuge in him; she'd chosen to stay and make their relationship work, after all. He was the only person in the world who shared in that moment where her trauma began, the only one even capable of understanding, and for her, that created a connection. But it wasn't a connection he was open to exploring at the time.
She was drawn to the offbeat, jaded Jonathan instead because his cynicism more closely matched her own state of mind. She needed to be given the space to wallow and heal however she saw fit -- in this case it was getting vengeance. Jonathan had his own reasons to seek vengeance, but Steve didn't (Steve also hadn't reached emotional maturity the way he has now).
That doesn't mean she didn't wish things had gone differently.
I looove the line "lovelorn and nobody knows" for the scene where Steve lets her go in season 2. She made her choices and I don't really think she was pining here, but I do think a part of her was heartbroken that she couldn't repair things with Steve -- especially with him stepping back to put her needs before his own. But she can't tell anyone about those confused feelings. It's over now. He's gone. She is going to be with Jonathan.
I just... young!Nancy is so special to me and this song makes me go feral on her behalf. She deserved to be young and in love and explore her autonomy and make her own choices without being punished for it, damn it!

Hii! Could you maybe do Steve Harrington x reader n°5 and 28 from the prompt list?? I love your writings, they are one of my favorites! Thank you! xx
“you’re more than just a one night stand.” + “i don’t want to hear your excuses anymore.”
summary: A description of the first three times she kissed Steve Harrington.
warnings: small age gap (2 years), smut, angst
word count: 2.3K
a/n: thanks for the love & request!! this got a lot angstier than i expected it to really quick. enjoy!!
The first time she kissed Steve Harrington, it was an innocent, tipsy peck on the lips. She was a naïve freshman and he was a big bad junior. They knew each other from the Christmas parties that the Harrington’s would throw every year, only having small conversations in passing before that night. But when she recognized him as the only familiar face at some party after her friend ditched her to suck some senior boy’s dick, she acted like they were the best of friends.
She didn’t plan on kissing him, but it happened. When it was time to go, she freaked out. She knew she couldn’t go home, her mom would kill her if she knew she was drinking. Her friend, Tracy, had ditched her for the senior boy and now she had nowhere to go. She had no car, no license, no friends and her house was all the way on the other side of Hawkins. Steve was her last resort.
“I can take you back to your house, it’s just a few down from mine isn’t it?” he asked the slightly stumbling and worried girl as they walked to his car.
“I need to stay with you. Going home will be the death of me, my mom can’t know that I drank tonight.” she slurred, gripping his arm tightly as they reached the car. “Please Steve.”
Steve let her come over, let her borrow some clothes, let her sleep in his bed while he slept on the floor. She was relatively quiet the whole night, he wasn’t sure if she felt guilty or sick honestly, but he didn’t question it either. Just as he was about to turn the lights off, she grabbed his wrist clumsily to pull him over to her. Without really thinking, she reached up from where she sat on the bed to kiss him softly. He kissed her back, but only for a second before pulling away and giving her a look that read ‘what was that for?’
“A thank you, for taking me home. I appreciate it.” she answered as if he asked the question out loud.
The second time she kissed Steve Harrington, he was a heartbroken mess in need of something to forget the pain he was in. She was a slightly more mature sophomore and he was a senior holding onto what was left of his high school days. She found him with his head hung low in the driver’s seat of his car that was in the parking lot of Melvald’s at midnight. She could have sworn she saw a tear about to fall from his eyes when she knocked on his window. Her heartbeat could be heard in her ears when he snapped his attention to her at the door. It had been a year since they had kissed, it had been a year since they had even spoken.
She heard the car door’s lock click open, so she opened the passenger side to step in. The look on his face was heartbreaking in itself. He had been crying, and he didn’t even try to hide it. The look on her face was filled with concern, but it was understanding. She had heard what happened and her heart went out to him. She felt the pain he felt, the pain of the one you love finding someone new. The only difference between her pain and his, was that he actually had Nancy as his, she never had Steve as hers.
“How you holding up?” she asked, realizing it was a stupid question as soon as she asked.
“Just fine.” he scoffed, rolling his eyes as he leaned his head against the headrest behind him. “My girlfriend left me for someone else, but I’m doing just fine.”
“Steve...” she trailed off, unsure of what to say.
“What are you doing at Melvald’s at midnight?” he implored, trying to change to subject to get Nancy off his mind.
“I came to get some ice cream, but I would recognize this car anywhere. So I decided to come say hey.” she shrugged, giving him a sympathetic smile. “I could ask you the same thing, though.”
“I don’t really know. I’ve just been driving around for a while, my mind just decided to bring me to this parking lot for some reason.” he laughed, shaking his head at how ridiculous he sounded.
She laughed with him, still watching him closely as she reached for his hand. She gave it a tight, reassuring squeeze to tell him it would all be okay. Before she knew it, he had leaned over in his seat to kiss her. Her hand tangled in his hair as his arm wrapped around her waist from over the console. He tested her limits by teasing the skin on her stomach and toying with the lace of the strap on her bra.
She didn’t ask any questions when he took his lips away from hers or when he took the car out of park and drove away from the store, leaving her car in the parking lot. Soon enough, she was being pulled into his empty house and was being pressed against the front door. His hands reached down to grab the backs of her thighs, pulling her legs to wrap around his waist. Their lips never separated as he walked to his bedroom, like he had done it one too many times and knew the path without looking.
Her back hit the sheets of his bed moments later, his body hovering over hers. Everything was a blur for her until neither of them had any clothes on and he was back on top of her. It all happened so quick, she barely had time to process what was happening when he slid his hand between her thighs. A breath hitched in her throat when she felt his fingers reach her core.
“Is this okay?” he asked in a genuine voice, pressing a kiss to her neck gently. “I can stop if you want.”
“No...No. I want this.” she said with a struggled moan, watching him carefully. “I’ve just...never done this before.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.” he reassured her, cupping her cheek as he smiled down at her.
He went slow, his movements were gentle. He was a giver, that’s for sure; he made sure to make her cum before letting her do anything to him, asking multiple times along the way if she was okay. After he had pulled his fingers from her, she looked up at him as she grabbed for his length.
“Steve.” she breathed out, her chest still heaving slightly from being out of breath. “I need you.”
Within seconds, he had reached into his nightstand for a condom, ripped it open, and pulled it onto his cock. He peered down at her, brushing some hair from over her eyes.
“You sure about this?” he implored, holding his member in his hand as it teased her entrance.
“Yes, please Steve. Quit teasing me.” she groaned out, moving her hips to create some friction.
He slid into her with ease, going slow when he saw a tear slip from her eye. His movements stopped when she dug her nails into his shoulder and let out a whimper of pain, not pleasure. After a moment, she was adjusted and told him to move. Tears of pleasure replaced her tears of pain slowly as his thrusts increased in speed.
“So good for me, sweetheart. Fuck, so tight.” he groaned into her ear, his thumb rubbing her clit as he continued to speed up.
She couldn’t tell is he was just frustrated or if he had planned on going that hard, but his speed never wavered when she came near her second climax of the night.
“Cum with me, sweetheart.” he said into her ear, sending shivers down her spine.
They both finished together and rode out their highs, panting in rhythm with each other. Steve collapsed next to her after pulling out, pulling the condom off and throwing it in a trash can next to his bed. He watched her as she stared at the ceiling, trying to process what had just happened. Neither of them said a word as they fell asleep next to each other, her head cuddled into his neck as she did.
The third time she kissed Steve Harrington, it was more passionate than the two before; filled with love, filed with hope. She was now a junior and he was graduated, it was the week after graduation. They never talked after that night they spent together, but everyone else did. Word spread like wildfire about their one night stand through the small Indiana town. It hurt to think that he had told everyone about it, that he probably thought of her as only a rebound when she had been pining after him for so long.
She had avoided him since that night, knowing it would hurt too much to even talk about it. It was unexpected when she literally ran into him at a coffee shop in town. Her coffee spilled all over the front of his shirt when she hit his chest, and she apologized profusely until her eyes met with his. She froze in that moment, unsure of how to start a conversation with the guy who unknowingly broke her heart twice.
“Hi.” he laughed, a smile playing on his lips. “It’s okay, I didn’t like this shirt anyways.”
“I-I’ll give you some money to get a new one...Here.” she said, shoving her hand into her pocket to pull out ten dollars.
“I don’t need your money, really.” he said, his smile fading from his lips quickly. “You can repay me by talking to me about something, though.”
With those words, her heart dropped to her stomach. She wasn’t sure what he would have to say to her, would he tell her that she was just a quick fuck and he was proud of it? Because that was all she could think of.
Steve was stubborn, though. So, she nodded to him and followed him to his car for a conversation, knowing he would bother her until she said yes if not. The look on his face when they got in the car was concerning to her, it was filled with conflicting feelings.
“Listen, Steve. You don’t have to explain yourself to me. It’s already been months since we talked and the whole town thinks I’m an easy slut because I let you get in my pants for some stress relief. There’s nothing you can say that’ll make me feel any better or worse about the situation.” she blurted out before he could say anything.
“I never told anyone about us, just so you know. I think Tommy saw me dropping you off that next morning and wanted the whole school to know, because he’s a dick.” he said simply, locking eyes with her as he spoke. “And I just let it happen because I was just so caught up in my feelings and I never said anything because I knew you were already hurting, I didn’t want to hurt you even more and —“
“Steve, you’re rambling. I don’t want to hear your excuses anymore.” she sighed, her eyes showing the state of exhaustion that she had been in for months. “I really couldn’t care less. You were hurting and wanted something to forget Nancy, I get it. It was just a one night stand, that might’ve ruined my reputation. But I don’t regret it.”
Her voice was strained as she spoke, finally speaking the truth for the first time in a while. She really didn’t regret anything she had with him in that night, she didn’t regret letting him take her virginity, even though it meant that rumors spread about her after. Steve looked confused as she spoke, like she was speaking in tongues or something.
“You’re more than just a one night stand.” he said, reaching for her hand after talking.
“And you waited to tell me this, why?” she implored, feeling anger and pain build up inside her when she pulled her hand away from him. “You’re just looking for another quick fuck, aren’t you?”
“No! No, I’m not.” he stammered, scrambling to think of the right words to say to the broken girl in front of him. “I didn’t really know how to tell you that before, since it really seemed like I was just hurt. I wanted to tell you when I heard people talking, but you avoided me at all cost —“
“I had every reason to do that, Steve. Don’t put this back on me.” she snapped, blinking away tears that were forming in her eyes.
“I know, I know. I deserved to be ignored. I just...needed time.” he said, reaching for her hand again. “Please believe me. I want to fix this mess that I made. I fucking ruined you and I want to help.”
He was right, he had ruined her. She wasn’t the same naïve girl she was before their first kiss. She wasn’t the same slightly more mature girl that she was before their first time. She was a stone-cold girl that guys flirted with because they thought she was easy; she was a heartbroken girl who watched the person she was enamored with find someone else who broke their heart.
But, she couldn’t help herself. She couldn’t deny the fact that she still craved Steve’s touch and that she was thriving off of the simple touch of their hands in that moment. Without a second thought, she pressed her lips against his in the same way she did the first time, soft and slow.
The third time she kissed Steve Harrington would not be the last time and they both knew it in that moment.
