Galloping Out of Town, but Not Out of Our Hearts

Or so, I’d like to think.   And I have to do this before anyone else tries to steal my thunder.

That’s right, my sweet children and beautiful city-- this is not a “goodbye” but rather “see you again”, because life is unpredictable.  For the past six months or so, I’ve been struggling with balancing a 40 hour work week, modding, and trying to take care of myself-- as seen first by me mysteriously vanishing in terms of mod presence, but also when I dropped my characters to lessen my load, yet didn’t start becoming more prominent as a mod once more.  I openly admit to being a little scared to announce that I was leaving the mod team, and Stella City as a whole, and spent probably half of the time I’ve been “away” going back and forth with myself on how to approach doing it and if I even wanted to actually step down or not.

I’ve been part of Stella City prior to day 1.  I remember when Gini first messaged me and a few other friends about them working on a new rp group, and shooting their ideas at us and looking for tips and suggestions from us on names and the like.  I was waiting to board a flight when Stella City officially opened, and was quick to send an character application in-- despite my original unease about joining another group since I hadn’t been in one in years and was a fairly busy person.  From the first day, I’ve enjoyed every moment spent in the city of stars and candy clouds (and sheep.. lots, and lots of sheep..)  I joined the mod team sneaky sneaky, helping Gini with the inbox as they were busy themselves with maintaining the fresh city.  It wasn’t long before the official announcement of Sagittarius Mod was made-- I always felt like it was a month, though it was more like a week or two.. time apparently selectively flies when you’re having fun I guess, haha..

The group spent a long time being run by just Gini and I-- a concept we all look back on and wonder how we survived and how we never wanted to do that again, haha.  But we somehow made it work.  Bringing in more mods also initially scared me because… what if the fresh young meat took all my work?  What if people forgot the delightfully stupid Sagittarius Mod in the sea of Libra, Leo, and Virgo?  After a well staged fight with Aries Mod on Twitter that shook much of the group, while the two of us were cracking up (new mods included in the fear after I was removed from the mod chat)... We were ready to party.   I even got my own grave in Starlight Shrine because I was always dying.  Spooky Ass Ghost Mod truly became a ghost, showing up in the inbox whenever the young folk gave him the chance-- until grandpa had learned “wow not having to do the inbox is nice…. Me likey”  Mod memes consisting of miscellaneous stock photos and poorly drawn on astrological symbols were filling up people’s minds--- or at least my mind, and that’s the mind that matters, right? That’s what I like to tell myself.  Before I knew it, Pisces, Gemini, and Cancer were in our numbers, and I was even further trotting back from the mod-verse.

It was such an honour to help raise and watch the mods grow into really what feels like those who really run this city.  Each of them brought, and continue to bring, new ideas to Stella City and help the group grow in the best way, and in way that this grandpa can’t even imagine doing so myself.

I knew it wasn’t going to add stress to not be around for a little while with such amazing mods around, so I continued to take my break, not giving any suggestions of when I’d come back-- just occasionally swinging by to give my two cents.   I come into the mod chat when I get the chance now, and see the hard work all of the mods (excluding me) are doing each and every day and am shaken to my very core at how amazing they all are in their own ways.  Because Stella City has such an amazing team of mods, I feel better than ever about stepping away from being a mod.  I know (my lack of presence has proven already) that Stella City will not suffer without the strange half man, half horse cryptid that I’ve become.  If nothing else, it may suffer an unexplainable feeling of “this should be sad but... who is Sagittarius mod?”  I can only hope my grave will serve as a memory of me that’s far better than I was… New members going to Starlight Shrine and seeing it, and wondering “sag mod?????” Because, honestly? Me too.

Thank you, everyone who is part of Stella City, was part of Stella City, and will be part of Stella City, for so many amazing memories-- my own fears of stepping back were headlined by fears of regretting it because I have so many memories with this group and have had so much fun being part of it.  I’m determined to keep this not a farewell, because perhaps once I get myself put back together, perhaps citizens of this quaint little city will start reporting sightings of a strange creature with the head, torso, and arms of a horse, but the lower half and legs of a man… Who knows, and who will believe them?

That in mind, ahem, Yusuke Asahina  and Ohgi Krian have been dropped! (that sounds unsafe and DCF should be called..) .... *looks into a mirror* Thank you for playing them as you did ☆

A reminder on how to send letters!

We’ve been missing some letters over time, which is something we want to avoid at all costs. It’d be too sad if any letters to Aries and Stella go unanswered, after all!

As such, we’ve made a reminder on how to submit a letter to Aries and Stella, and how to make sure we see it!

Your character can write a letter I/C to Aries and Stella, which either of them will then answer for you. To send a letter to Aries and Stella, please have your character do the following:

Make an I/C post with the letter in it.

Post the letter on your blog.

Send a link to the post in the Popcorn Post submit box.

And that’s it! We will reblog the post to Popcorn Post so you know we received it. This will then be reblogged again to Berry Bulletin along with an answer by Aries and Stella once we have it! This way we can ensure we see the letter you wrote for Aries and Stella, and that we can get working on an answer for you right away!

When letters are posted in the #steci letter tag on tumblr and nowhere else, there is a high chance we will miss the letter, as not everything always shows up when visiting the tag. The same goes for putting an @ to Popcorn Post in the post, as these do not always show up in our notifications.

On a sidenote, don’t forget you can still use Popcorn Post to send I/C letters from your muse to other muses in Stella City! This can either be a text post or an image of a letter, as we will post it regardless. To do this, please following these steps:

Go to the Popcorn Post submit box.

Submit your letter, either as written text or as an image.

Make sure your letter says who it is addressed to!

To remain anonymous, leave out the name of your muse at the end of your letter. We always copy and paste the submitted letter into a new text post.

If you do not want to remain anonymous, make sure to put the name of your muse at the end of your letter!

The anonymous feature is for positive things only, such as secret love letters or kind compliments! Any sort of anonymous hate, either I/C or OOC, will not be posted by Popcorn Post. Any letters we post on Popcorn Post that are directed at another muse will always have the receiver of the letter tagged with their URL, and an @ will be placed in the post to ensure the recipient will see the letter!

                                           EVENT START!

as the sun lowers in the sky, suddenly the surrounding area comes alight. one after the other, trees and vines and flowers illuminate with light, heralding the start of the celebration that has been whispered about across the entire city: The Vernal Ball. petals and leaves and everything in between are limned in a rosy glow, bringing them to light as the true guests of honor for the evening -- after all, this is a night to celebrate life, love, and growth of all sorts. 

the air hums with anticipation of the events to come, benches are wreathed and wrapped with lights and lilies, and a few sheep in bowties stumble through trying to find the best way to balance trays of snacks, drinks, and flowers on their fluffy backs. the dull thrum of feedback can be heard as the music equipment is plugged into a piece of equipment with more knobs than you care to count (and you have to wonder briefly if the sheep DJ really even knows what all of them do.)

but as you peek through the stunning sight of the garden rustling gently in the last breezes of the evening, you can see the candles and tables and countless elegant decorations beneath canvas tents that all frame the center of the area for the celebrations -- the dance floor set out in the open grass, a sprawling spectacle that will surely be the scene of countless smiles, unbridled laughter, unadulterated joy, carefree dancing....                               and memories to cherish for years to come.

☆ It’s been a year ! ☆

Time sure flies, and so do we (albeit not literally). On the 6th of January, in the year 2017, Stella City was off on its rocky start in the whole Tumblr roleplay business. Set up by one person, with a mod team that eventually expanded to eight, we have worked for the past year to manage the group and keep the writing muses sparked by presenting our premise and any additions or events.

And we’re happy that many people seem to have enjoyed our efforts thus far! While we are currently taking it easy, we still would like for everyone that is a part of our group to have fun and, if possible, be able to relax a little too.

Many people have joined and roleplayed within our group in the past year. To those who did: thank you! And to those who are still around: an even bigger thank you! We’re filled with an abundance of gratefulness for those who were or are a part of our community. Our flock couldn’t have flourished without ewe!

We know a new year presents itself with new possibilities and plenty of new challenges. As we face them, we wish you all good luck with yours, too.

Hello! Tori here, and I am proud to present Stella City’s second mini-event, The Vernal Ball! This event will run from Friday, May 12th through Sunday, May 14th. This event will focus on on-dash threading. All are welcome to attend -- in fact, they are encouraged to! The more, the merrier.

The ball’s host, Margaery Tyrell, is pleased to offer the following activities to all those who attend the ball.

Margaery has hired DJ Baaled, a sheep well-versed in music from the classical era all the way to modern music, providing a wide enough range of musical selections that everybody should be able to find something they can dance to.

Starlight Garden has graciously allowed us the use of their facilities for this even. There will (obviously) be a dancefloor available for those who feel the urge to show off their moves, but if you find yourself in need of a moment to rest (or perhaps a quiet moment with a special someone), the gardens are at your disposal. This is all about celebrating the coming of spring, after all!

Several very dapper-looking butler sheep will be in attendance to offer food and refreshments to the attendants. It wouldn’t be much of a party otherwise, now would it?

Margaery’s flower shop is working around the clock to prepare and provide corsages, boutonnieres, and, of course, flower crowns to help you look your very best on the day of the ball. There will be a stand set up where you can get one of your very own.

Excited for the ball? Here are a few fun ways you can prepare in advance!

Post (or draw!) a picture of what you are planning to wear! You can use the tag ‘#steci vernal ball’ to show it off to others.

Have a special someone? Had your eye on a special someone, but haven’t had the courage to make that move yet? No better chance than now! Ask them to accompany you!

Or, plan with your friends to attend together! Sometimes that can be even more fun than having a date. A lot less worrying about if there’s something in your teeth or if you snorted while you were laughing.

☆ aries x hiatus ☆

Hello everyone! 

This is Aries Mod. It is with a lot of grief (and pressure from the rest of the mod team) that I unfortunately must announce my upcoming absence from the masterlist, as I will take a full hiatus.

Due to a strange turn of events, I got quite sick over the past few weeks, which resulted in me undergoing surgery for a second time just two days ago. A lot of people have expressed concern for my well being and I will thus take a few weeks off to recover.

My outlined mission is to rest to the best of my ability. While doing so, I would like to make the formal request to be gentle with the rest of the mod team as they run this place without any supervision or input from their founder. 

Daily tasks like answering the inbox might be a little slower than usual. Specifically FAQ-related questions and letters will have delayed answers.
