logically i know modern horses aren't native to the americas like that was a whole Thing but it causes such cognizant dissonance to think of there being wild horses in europe. like that can't be right. there's no fucking cowboys there.

there are some notes on that smoking poll that say stuff along the lines of “this really is the not going outside website” but like i think that’s ignoring the fact that the majority of tumblr is millennials and that generation is kinda known to be The Generation That Doesn’t Smoke, at least in the US
gen x smoked a lot, gen z got vapes, but millennials got skipped because of extremely successful anti-smoking campaigns. this is like a Known Thing

had a conversation at thanksgiving last night that basically boiled down to my grandmother saying “if you don’t love dolly parton, you’re a communist,” to which i could not help but reply, “i know so many communists and every single one of them loves dolly parton.”

to any of my fellow trans folk in missouri, Plume (the telehealth provider i get my HRT from) is offering no-cost HRT prescriptions from April 24th-April 27th. please pass this on so anyone in need in missouri can get help
Transcript of email with links provided:
To our Plume community,
In response to the Missouri Attorney General’s emergency rule severely limiting access to gender-affirming medical care, we will provide gender-affirming hormone therapy at no cost before the rule goes into effect from April 24 to April 27.*
If you’re in Missouri and need immediate care, you can schedule your appointment here.
We are pulling together all available resources to help as many people as possible across the state, but we can’t do it alone. We’re calling on every clinician in the state who can join us in this effort, and applaud Planned Parenthood and other providers for expanding availability for gender-affirming care appointments up until April 27 as well. We’ll be actively promoting on our website any and all providers that are still accepting appointments, in case we can’t responsibly service everyone who needs it in time.
We understand how stressful this is for our Members, employees, and everyone in our community right now. Know that we’ll be doing everything in our power to help you through this.
[Learn more about what we’re doing in Missouri and how you can help.]
Please forward this email to anyone in your community who could be of assistance.
-The Plume Care Team
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].
*Please note, any no-cost medical services we are providing ahead of the proposed Missouri AG’s proposed rule are in effect only from April 24, 2023 through April 26, 2023 at 11:00 PM CT.
EDIT: AS THIS HAS LONG PASSED THE DATE WHERE IT WAS RELEVANT I AM TURNING OFF REBLOGS.

latke’s a very mouthy dog because she’s a shephard mix, but like. she knows she’s not supposed to put her mouth on people. so she learned on her own to pick up one of her toys whenever she’s excited just so she can’t use her mouth, and when she gets really excited she will start rapid-fire squeaking the toy.
genuinely she is one of the best dogs i’ve ever owned.

i see a lot of talk of fellow adhd and autistic folk feeling like they’re too much for other people but i don’t see a lot of talk about feeling like you’re not enough. low energy adhd and autism where it takes a lot of effort to use words so your way of showing affection is to sit there and vibe in people’s presence but it comes off like you’re not paying attention or it’s not “active” enough to count, or forgetting to reply to DMs (or like i said, Words Hard), and it again comes off as you not caring or ignoring people. it’s really hard to be putting in so much effort to maintain friendships you value only for that effort to not be seen, or to be read as apathy, or for it to be seen but still not be what other people want. even worse when you try and talk more and be more active in a relationship but you end up burning yourself out because you don’t have enough energy to maintain it.

i see your “tieflings as an allegory for the ostracized and othered, as an exploration of what it means to be looked down upon for something you cannot help” and also offer you “aasimar as an allegory for the expectations placed upon us when we’re young, as an exploration of our autonomy and how so much of it is stripped away by societal and parental pressure, of the fact that even our own bodies come to be owned by the people around us because of what is expected of us and the roles we have to perform”
