The smile he craved to protect
Autor's note: This is my fic written for the SS Shojo Week 2023! :) One of the first I've ever written in English, hence please, bear in mind some mistakes might occur.
Word count: 2536 Prompt: Highschool
Enjoy! :)
Casting his mind back to that day… To the memory of that day, which could never leave his head… What was the first thing coming to his thoughts, whenever he was relieving it again?
Was it the shiver going down his spine, leaving that intense, pulsing feeling of uncertainty within him? Was it the rain flooding the nearby streets, drenching his clothes, making him defenceless towards the nature and its rights? Or maybe its droplets… flowing down his cheeks, undistinguishable from tears relentlessly wanting to indulge that heart-wrenching sadness he could not get over.
On that day, Sasuke understood that he, indeed, was defenceless. Towards the nature, towards the cycle of life, towards its cruelty and endlessness. That harsh loop that everyone has to live in. Standing in the rain, with the faraway look on his face, he was coming to a painful realisation. He could do nothing against it. He could never stop Death from taking him away.
Why then, a part of that day, that pitiful memory, wasn’t leaving his head? Why would he keep sentencing himself to go through it over, and over again, instead of forcing own self to simply forget?
Sasuke wasn’t sure. Yet among all those mixed emotions that kept descending on him every day, he could recognise something else, something that he wouldn’t erase from his memory. Something he wouldn’t want to banish.
That smile, that managed to save him at the last gasp. As if she was an angel sent from above to get him out of his gripping despair, the girl in front of him unwittingly melted the ice covering his heart. He could see it even now. Those emerald eyes fixed at him, the worried look she was giving him. White umbrella stopping the rain teeming down on his head, and just the sweet voice of hers asking:
        Is everything alright?
No. He was far from being alright. But she was a wake-up call he subconsciously craved. Her kindness filled his heart with warmth he had lost a few hours before. Warmth, he chose to never give up on again.
***
Strolling down the corridors of the Konoha Highschool Sasuke couldn’t chase the cloudiness of his mind away. It felt as if the weather forecast predicted only dense fog for the day and the storm coming for the night. Dark clouds kept following him since the funeral, and three months had already passed. Even though he could feel the sunrays brush his skin, it helped nothing to dispel the darkness swirling above his head. He was hearing his friend’s voice, yet could not comprehend a single word flowing out of his mouth. And to Naruto’s annoyance, the absence of his mind was more than obvious with that blank stare of his.
“You could at least try listening to me, you know”, the boy snapped in a snit, but seeing Sasuke didn’t utter a word, he sighed heavily. He knew he was having a truly horrible time, yet for the first time Naruto had no idea as to how he could help him.
As they reached the classroom, Uchiha took his regular spot at its end, while Naruto approached a group of other students discussing something keenly.
“What’s up!” With a wide smile on his face he gave Kiba and Hinata a clap on their backs, making the girl give a start with a small shriek. “Oh, sorry, didn’t mean to scare you, you know! What are you talking ‘bout?”
“It’s okay…”, she muttered shyly, while Kiba started giving an explanation.
“… And that’s when I swooped in! I don’t really know her, but the Gentleman’s Code doesn’t allow to leave a damsel in distress without a hand. So I caught her, and helped her get back on her feet! Of course, she was grateful, and damn! Those goo-goo eyes!”
Uzumaki caught his breath for a split second before he burst into laughter. Trying hard to calm his giggles, he threw his arm around Hinata’s shoulder, making her face redder than a tomato.
“S-Sorry… I can’t…”, he kept roaring for a little longer until he was able to articulate. “Goo-goo eyes just because you caught her?”
“You may not be aware of it, but all them ladies love a strong guy giving them a leg up!”
“And you’re supposedly that strong guy?”, Naruto raised his eyebrow, biting the corner of his lips so that he could stop the smile creeping onto his face back again.
“What’s with that snide remark? You’re just jealous that you make no chicks swoon, unlike me.”
A grunt carried inthe room made everyone’s eyes traverse to its causer, namely, Shino, who was standing along with the discussing students.
“Firstly, you didn’t catch her, she bumped into you. That is because you were standing next to the stairs. Secondly, she didn’t even fall herself, but because she was pushed by someone. You don’t make any girls swoon either, because you are not popular at all”, Shino elaborated in a serious tone of voice, making Naruto laugh again, while Kiba was getting heated up.
“Anyway!” Uzumaki decided to interrupt him before he even got to say a word. “Who was that girl?”
“Not sure, don’t know her” Inuzuka pouted, dropping his eyes. “But I will sure find out!”
“I… I do know her”, Hinata finally spoke up, and everyone’s gaze moved to her, as she was about to give them the answer. “I had class with her last year… Her name is Sakura.”
His classmate rouse him from reverie. That name, he wasn’t sure earlier. He could recall her from assemblies, yet there was a blank space in his head as he was trying to remember what she was called. Sasuke had no idea what his friends were talking about, but there was one thing his gut was telling him for sure. Sakura, that must have been that girl.
***
Next weeks have passed mostly in the same way as the previous ones. School was keeping him busy, but it was still not enough to drive his sadness away. Although he was trying to spend as much time as possible out of home that kept reminding him of his brother, it was impossible to stay away from it completely. And every time Sasuke had to face those thoughts filled with despair, he felt as if he was going to collapse any moment.
That’s why he was spending more time at Naruto’s place than his own. He couldn’t explain it, but with him around he was feeling that this overwhelming grief was easing off a little. Naruto and Itachi were always alike at some point, even if their personalities seemed completely opposite — Itachi always unfazed, Naruto bursting with energy for most of the time — they both were giving him the comfort he needed. And when he was getting weary of his friend’s gibberish, he would move to the library to study for the upcoming exams. At least, at the beginning that was the reason.
It was Friday when he decided to spend some time in the reading room of his high school. The room was spacious enough to let him enjoy the solitude he needed from time to time. That day though, he could not cast his thoughts aside when learning. They kept flooding his mind, and even if they weren’t leaving him teary-eyed anymore, he would say that the heavy weight on his heart was even worse than droplets flowing down his face.
He couldn’t think straight with pulsating pain in his head. Having buried his face in his hands, he exhaled deeply. He couldn’t do it anymore. Everyone kept telling him that this wound that was caused by the loss of his brother, the one he was keeping within himself would heal over time. But he didn’t believe them. And even if it ever healed, a deep, ugly scar would be left as a sign of this dark time. Usually he would shrug it off, trying to crack on with the school-life, putting his worries on ice. But today was different.
And as he put his arms down and rose his eyes, he again saw her. She was sitting at the table nearby, holding a pencil in her fingers as she was reading something dialling in. He didn’t know how long he was gazing at her. But eventually, he realised. The pain was gone.
Since then Sasuke would go to the library more often, hoping to meet her again. Although, maybe “meet” was a too strong word to use. Maybe it would be better if he said that he simply wanted to encounter her. He never said “hi”, never approached her. But every single time he came across her, he couldn’t help but fix on her, hoping that she never notices.
To be frank, at school it was no different. When wandering aimlessly around the corridors along with Naruto during their breaks, he would be looking out for her with different outcomes. After a while he learned that she spends most of her breaks outside, sitting on a bench under a tree. He also noticed that she was a nerd in the true sense of the word. Sasuke could swear she was studying for most of the time, except for the moments when her blonde friend decided to join her in on the bench. Then, they would chat about something, and he would even sometimes spot a slight smile on her face that made him smirk at multiple occasions.
No matter how clueless Naruto’s usual self was, this couldn’t escape even his notice. At first he didn’t connect the dots, that Sasuke was peculiarly eager to stroll down the school, when just a few months ago he would never go with him without complaining. But after some time, he noticed his friend’s eyes fixed on that girl.
“You didn’t tell me there was someone you like”, he blundered out, giving a glance to her.
“What?” Sasuke asked, thrown off-balance. He immediately moved his gaze at him with the questioning look on his face.
“You always look at her. Are you seeing each other?”
Uchiha snorted awkwardly, averting his eyes. He put his hands back to the pockets of his trousers.
        “Don’t be ridiculous.”
***
Heavy rain. That’s how she could sum up the weather as she was on her way to the bus. Annoyingly enough, today, when it was bucketing for hours now, she had forgotten her umbrella. And that never happens to her.
She could feel all her clothes water-soaked, not mentioning pink hair that looked as if she just got out of the shower.
“Splendid”, she thought to herself, stopping before a pedestrian crossing. Sakura could already feel the runny nose she was going to struggle with in the following days. Had she a hood, maybe she would be in at least a little better situation. But not today. White t-shirt of her uniform and a cardigan wrapped tight around her kept reminding her of what a terrible idea it was to not check the bag before leaving.
And then, to her surprise, she could see a shadow casted from above of her head, stopping the rain that was relentlessly teeming down on her. She rose her eyes to see a boy from her school that would make her heart skip a beat every time she saw him. Sasuke Uchiha. There was no girl at school that wouldn’t know his name. And now, he was standing next to her, covering them both from the water with a black umbrella.
“Oh… It’s you”, she mumbled, but as she realised how bad it sounded, she composed herself immediately, giving him a smile. Her heart was in a rush, when she was trying to say anything else. “I meant… it’s nice of you. Thank you.”
        “Hn.”
Taken aback by his response (if she even could call it an answer), she dropped her gaze. As the lights turned green, they started walking forward towards the bus stop.
“I think I saw you in the library the other day”, she said, trying to fill the awkward silence.
“I come there from time to time.”
“Oh… I understand”, Sakura nodded a bit discouraged, figuring that he was either far from a chatty person, or just uninterested in speaking with her.
While Sakura was puzzling over Sasuke and his personality, trying to find out how to approach him, Uchiha was cursing himself inwardly. Ever since he saw her on that crossing, he knew he didn’t want to let her soak with rain. What he didn’t know though, was what would he say as he approaches her. And when he finally did, without giving it much of a thought, he must have made a jerk of himself with those brief replies.
Typically, Sasuke’s mind was nimble. But when around that girl, something clearly wasn’t working, as if the nerve connections in his brain were obliterating within a crack. Astound, he had no idea how to say. But he needed to say something quick.
“You’re there surprisingly often. You seem to study a lot”, he managed to finally speak up, hoping he doesn’t come across as nosy.
“I actually do!”, she warmed up hearing his words. “Library is the best place for it, really. It’s silent, and other people doing their work boost my morale”.
Sasuke could hear her chuckle, and he couldn’t help but rise the corners of his lips either. They were chatting a little before reaching the bus stop — although being completely honest, it was mostly Sakura that was talking. And he didn’t mind. He enjoyed every word she said, wanting to hear more and more, hating how near to their school the bus stop was. But since then, they’d often walk there together whenever their school-day was finishing at the same time.
A few weeks after they started their new habit accompanying each other on their way home, Sasuke couldn’t get rid of the feeling that something was off with Sakura. While she usually was almost as energetic as Naruto was, she suddenly went completely silent. He even asked if everything was fine, but he never received any other answer than “no worries”, with a smile that he could tell was fake.
Wednesdays were the days when they’d both finish around 4 pm. However, earlier that they he couldn’t find her anywhere at school. Having waited for her over a quarter, he realised she must have been absent.
Sasuke couldn’t help but feel worried. He had already learned Sakura was never skipping school. Normally he would have assumed that maybe she was just sick, but with her weird behaviour past few days, he couldn’t force himself to believe it.
And so, he didn’t get off the bus at the stop nearby his house. Instead, he decided to check on her in person. He had walked her home once, hence he hoped he didn’t forget the way there. And to his gladness, after a few minutes he was standing in front of the building she lived in. When he was about to call her through the intercom, he stopped for a minute, having a rethink. He was feeling silly for coming to her house without giving her a notice. But he had this hunch, telling him he needs to be there.
When he finally called, a female voice answered him, yet it wasn’t the girl he was craving to hear from.
“I’m sorry for the obtrusion… I wanted to ask, if Sakura is home?”, he gulped, uncertain what words to use.
“And you are?”. He could feel the suspicious tone in the woman’s voice.
        “A friend. Uchiha Sasuke.”
“Sasuke? Of course, come in.” The boy already figured that the lady he was speaking to must have been Sakura’s mom. Hearing her voice become more cheerful as he introduced himself, he smiled a little.
The flat he saw was sure cosy, just like he imagined the place of Harunos. What though didn’t meet his expectations was Sakura’s mom. For some reason he was sure that she must be taking after her, but having spotted the pictures on the walls as she was leading him to the girl’s room, his friend resembled her father much more.
“Sakura, you have a guest.” Mrs Haruno knocked on the door, and walked away, upon hearing “come in” from her daughter. She only shoot at Sasuke once again, giving him a smile.
He pressed the handle, feeling the anxiety boiling up in his chest. He was now wondering, whether she is going to be mad at him for coming here. But there was no way out, not anymore. He went in.
“Hey”, he tried to keep his composure, but he could feel his jaw drop a little, when he noticed her hair, or rather its shoulder-length. She still was pretty, that he knew for sure, but it didn’t change the fact that it wasn’t the way he remembered it to be. Just a few days ago, it was way longer.
“Sasuke? Why did you come?” Sakura stood up from her bed, glancing at him surprised.
“You didn’t show up at school. Thought I’d check on you”, he explained, exchanging looks with her. “You cut your hair.”
Sakura sighed, shaking her head. She showed him a chair he could sit on, and took a place on her bed again, crossing her arms. He could notice them shaking a little.
“How are you?”, she asked, ignoring his comment.
         “I’m good. How are you?”
“Good”, Sakura answered biting her lips.
Young man exhaled, rubbing his eyes. He knew it was a lie. He might have had no idea what was going on with her, but something was off all this time. And he wasn’t leaving until he finds out.
“What’s going on?”. Sakura was surprised to hear this gentle tone of his voice for the first time ever. And that’s probably why she couldn’t keep it to herself anymore.
“I’m having some issues at school”, she started, speaking — to the boy’s mind — in riddles. However, he had the patience and the time to continue. No matter how long it would take, he was ready to listen to Sakura and let the heavy weight off her shoulders as she finally says what the problem is. Sasuke kept his eyes fixed on her as he asked another question.
         “And those are?”
She sighed again, wondering how to put it. Saying it outright felt rather awkward. It was enough that she had to tell her parents yesterday, what happened to her after the class. And the encounter she had with Ami and her bunch — the girls that would harass her at school for a while now, was something she wished to erase from her memory. However, Sakura was aware it was impossible. She would sooner or later have to go back to school. And now, looking at Sasuke, she started to have a little faith. That she isn’t alone. That it isn’t just Ino — her best friend — that would take her side and stand up for her.
She still was unable to figure out what was going on between her and Uchiha. It was simply weird to her. Were they close friends, she didn’t know. For a little while she noticed that she cannot think straight when around him. She would blush, feeling her body on heat, every time their skin meets. Ino diagnosed her some time ago with symptoms common for the girls at school. Symptoms of crush on Sasuke Uchiha. And as much as Sakura considered this to be one-sided, she genuinely believed that he cared for her.
“Problems with a few girls. This…”, having said that, she took a lock of her hair between her fingers “is their doing.”
While she was hoping to see a quick reaction, nothing happened. Sasuke was analysing what she said, and then everything dawned on him, making him wonder how he could not notice anything earlier. He wasn’t sure if he was more angry at those girls, or at his own self, that he was no help to her when she apparently needed him to be. This though, was going to change. From now. That gave him the courage to take matters into his hands. He was going to deal with anyone causing her harm. But firs, he needed to speak with her.
        “Sakura.”
        “Yes?”
“I’m not good at comforting people”, he admitted calmly.
Sakura though, didn’t seem to be bothered. She unwillingly chortled, hearing his words. Even if she was feeling uncomfortable telling him this, he managed to cheer her up a little with this sentence, making her heart go faster.
“But it doesn’t mean I don’t want to help you. I won’t leave you. You can count on me. What I wanted to say…”, not having yet finished speaking, Sasuke stood up and started walking to the door, making her catch her breath. “Let’s date.”
Before leaving the room, he could see first amazement on her face. She certainly didn’t see it coming, forgetting how to breathe for a minute. But then, that expression was then replaced with what he liked the most about her. Her smile was filling his heart with this warm feeling he could not forget from that memorable day. That was the only thing he craved to see. That smile and those overjoyed, emerald eyes. And that’s why Sasuke decided to shoulder the responsibility. To protect them, no matter what.

“Keeping it a secret” (1/2)
Fic for the 2nd day of SS Shoujo week 2023! At first I wanted to keep it short, but eventually turned out that it's out of my league. This is the first part of the story, I will hopefully post the second (and the last) one tomorrow, as of my fic for the 3rd day of the event. And it will surely contain much more SasuSaku! Building it up now. :] Prompt: Class trip Summary: Hiding your relationship in with Mr Popular may be difficult. Especially on a school trip! Word count: 1851
One dreaming of living in the bosom of nature could never find a better place to stay than Suna. Spending whole evenings on romantic walks along those white-sand beaches. Bidding a farewell to the down-going Sun as it’s on its way to rest, leaving the world in the Moon’s care. Suna truly seemed to be the perfect area to anyone seeking peaceful oasis throughout the summer.
Although, that wasn’t the case here. Kakashi truly hated the climate of the place he had to spend his next few days at, but what was even more frustrating than high temperatures making him feel as if he was boiling within the four walls of an average hostel, was the ear-splitting noise accompanying him for most of the time. Upon hearing another cry of the most unpredictable pupil Konoha Highschool was to ever have, Kakashi rose his eyes from the book he was reading visibly annoyed. Glancing over at his students gathered around him, he exhaled deeply with a tired look on his face.
“You kids… Make me remember something”, he admitted, in a serious tone of his voice, whilst the group of boys was looking at him with their hearts beating wildly fast, waiting for the permission they were hoping to receive. “I really hate this job.”
Defeated groans of the bunch of teens carried in the hostel’s living room. Disenchanted. That’s how one could describe what was going in their heads right now. This aura was certainly sensed by Might Guy, PE teacher, who was just entering the longue and gave them a surprised look. Putting his hand on his hip, he asked:
“It’s 9 am and you guys are already in such a bad mood? No way.”
That was their chance. The last chance, to get what they desired and have been planning for weeks now, ever since the school trip was announced. They had to take all the measures, to win this. They needed someone with perseverance, who will fight for their case until the last drop of their blood. And upon having noticed their last resort, Naruto as a self-proclaimed leader of the group forced his way through the classmates. As he stood in front of the teacher, he put a serious face on, contradictory to the pleading look in his eyes.
“Please, convince Mr Kakashi so that we could organise a party tonight.”
Guy shook his head, moving his gaze to Kakashi who was now back to reading his favourite Icha-Icha Paradise.
“Boys. You must learn that youthfulness isn’t just about having fun. It’s also the time when you need to learn the sense responsibility, that you will pass like a torch to your families in the future”, as he was speaking, the last hope was flowing out of Naruto’s body. How come they lost? It wasn’t just, and he could never agree to it. But then, Guy proceeded with his short speech. “Therefore. Just make sure you bring no alcohol to the party. If I smell it from anyone of you… you will be running around the hostel all day tomorrow.”
Seeing his legendary pose, with his thumbs up and smile shinning brighter than the Sun on the sky in the middle of summer, boys caught their breaths for a minute, when processing what just happened. And then, it was high time to explode with joy.
“Come on boys! We have a party to prepare!”, Naruto yelled, feeling the pride flowing in his veins.
Sasuke sighed. He had already made plans on how he was going to spend this day. And now he was sure, sneaking out with his girlfriend of five weeks, won’t be as easy as he hoped it would be.
We have a problem.               Guy gave them his permission.
Sakura could feel a vein pulsing on her forehead when she read the text from her boyfriend. Of course, Naruto managed to get that freaking permission. Usually she admired his persistence, but today, it could get no worse! They were supposed to sneak out in the evening together with Sasuke to spend some time on their own. She even found online some pretty beach bar nearby, where they could stay for some cold drinks. And now, it seemed that it all was gone to a burton.
Having noticed the annoyance boiling up in her friend, Ino stole a glance at her phone. A smile creeped onto her face as she read the name of the sender.
“Oh, you two lovebirds!” she sighed, wrapping an arm around girl’s shoulder. “Seems Naruto accidentally put a spoke in your wheel, no?”
Upon hearing her voice and the words flowing out of her mouth, Sakura immediately hugged her phone in fluster, covering its screen.
“Pig!” Her voice was surprisingly high-pitched. “How many times do I have to tell you this! Don’t look at my phone, when I’m texting with someone!”
Ino laughed and fell onto the sofa. Sitting with her legs crossed she seemed to be wondering about something, while Sakura was fighting with the blush conquering her cheeks. Lovebirds, she wasn’t quite used to it yet. It still felt so fresh and awkward to think they were dating, even though she has been dreaming about it for a really long time now.
“You should be more quiet when speaking about it”, she said once she composed herself enough to use her regular voice. “I don’t want others to find out.”
“Yes, yes… But Sakura, I still don’t get it!”, she protested. “Why are you guys hiding? Girl, you’ve pulled the hottest guy we have at school! There’s nothing to be ashamed of!”
Sakura immediately hushed her, taking a place next to her on the sofa, thinking about the answer. Honestly, she wasn’t sure herself. At first, she only wanted to enjoy the bloom of their relationship in silence, away from questions and curious looks. Sasuke wasn’t a fan of this idea once she brought it up on their first day. Actually, Sakura was almost certain her boyfriend wouldn’t agree to it. But he eventually chose to respect her wish and give them some time before announcing that they are dating.
However, that definitely wasn’t her only reason. The more days was passing, the more worried she was about the reaction of others. She didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, but on the other hand, she started to fear their friends will be disappointed with them for keeping it a secret for so long.
“Anyway…”, Ino broke the silence between them, knowing she probably won’t receive any answer as her friend was already immersed in thoughts. “Nothing is lost yet. You and Sasuke can still sneak out during the party.”
“Huh? But Ino, Naruto wanted to have an all-male party… He’s going through his alpha phase after he argued with Hinata.” Sakura had a disappointed look in her eyes, and Ino couldn’t stand that.
“What about it? All-male party… that’s cute. If they don’t invite us, we will invite ourselves.”
Haruno still had no idea how to do it. But the wink the blonde gave her was clear. She had a plan.
Preparations for the party were in full flow. A small square of the beach with a furnace fell within the area of the hostel they were accommodated in. Naruto had hard times convincing the owner to let him have a party there, but again, for whatever reason he managed to get his way. And now, the boys were bringing all the stuff they could find useful. They even convinced Neji from a parallel class to lend them his Bluetooth speaker to have some music playing.
Sasuke was grumpier than ever. That is, to say the very least. Standing under a rooftop covering the terrace, he kept observing every step of his classmates. He was trying to figure out how to leave unnoticed, and every new idea seemed even more stupid than the previous one. Naruto had already declared that he will make sure Uchiha has the time of his life tonight, and he will be by his side the whole time. Like the best buddy should.
This must be a fucking joke, Sasuke thought to himself. He knew that Uzumaki was through a rough breakup, but there’s a limit to everything. Naruto totally perceived him as a partner in his solitude, and Sasuke totally didn’t intend to be one.
“You’re a prime example that a real man needs no gal! Shoulda taken your cue long time ago!”, he once said when being completely wiped out. It was shortly after they got together with Sakura. Naruto called him for him, telling him it’s an emergency. And things couldn’t get more awkward. He still could feel the shiver going down his spine, thinking about all the rubbish Naruto spitted that night.
Before he even realised, most of the work was already done. Some of the guys went to buy some drinks and snacks, while others took some seats and kept discussing something keenly. As he was about to join them to see what the exact plans for the night are, he heard his phone vibrating. He took it out of his pocket and unlocked the screen.
We will get into the party. In advance, don’t be mad at me! x
He read the text from his girlfriend once. Then once again. What on earth was she planning? No idea. Was he getting worried? Heck, yeah. Sasuke didn’t have enough time to get lost in thought any more. A group of girls was already visible from afar.
She still couldn’t believe Ino’s idea won.
“Told you, boys are boys. Simple as ABC. What do they like? Drinking, girls, and fun. Can you merge those three things into anything better than spin the bottle?”, she asked unfazed as she was fixing her makeup in their room.
“Boys aren’t that simple at all… There is absolutely no way they are going to outvote Naruto just because of some silly game”, Sakura said ending her sentence with a humph.
And there she was. Standing among the people as the party was about to start. She adjusted the strap of her dress, looking around to find Sasuke. They were classmates after all, no? This won’t be suspicious if she approaches him during the party.
Having finally spotted the boy that made her heart skip a beat every single time he looked at her, she started walking towards him with a smile on her face. Sasuke was leaning against the wall of the terrace, staring at the sea.
“Hi!”, she smiled at him, as there was now less than a meter between them. She was so happy to talk to him. Ever since they came here, they kept missing each other. Boys and girls were lately terribly divided in their class, even though the alignment of their team was amazing before.
“Hey”, he responded, sizing her up. She wasn’t sure if it was a sudden cool breeze of the wind, or was it the atmosphere that suddenly grew cold, but she could feel the goosebumps forming on her skin. Something was off.

SSSHOUJOWEEK - DAY 5
Sunshine X Grumpy / Wallflower / Soulmates
Love in Shoujo
Chapter 5 - Wallflower
A handsome grump, that's Sasuke's famous nickname at school. However, like a magnet, he has a lot of friends (and fangirls too). In contrast to Sakura, who, although she has an appearance and personality as bright as the sun, is a loner and is more preoccupied with her own books. Even so, Sasuke doesn't know since when he started to be curious about her, especially when he saw her smiling at something in her book. But their opposite lives make it difficult for Sasuke to get a chance to approach her until one day a strange incident occurs. A red thread suddenly appears on his ring finger connecting him to Sakura and only they can see it! Is this an opportunity from God? Or is there a deeper meaning to all of this?
