As you probably know, Addy worked hard and fulfilled her dream to become a teacher. She taught in Philadelphia for many years and was well-respected and much-beloved by her students. She never stopped wearing her treasured cowrie-shell necklace.

Spring has Sprung, week 4: Pets

Lanie is taking her pet bunny, Lulu, for a walk. Or should I say for a hop? Lanie is a very beautiful doll who doesn’t seem to get much attention. I am intrigued by the idea of walking a rabbit on a leash!

Spring has Sprung, Week 2: Theater

Grace and her friend Linnea are appearing as Dorothy and Glinda in a local production of “The Wizard of Oz”. Since nobody volunteered to play the Wicked Witch of the East, that role is portrayed by a pair of striped tights.

Spring has Sprung, week 7: Superheroes

Ben is here to honor some real-life superheroes, the Tuskegee Airmen. This group of African American men played an important role in World War ll, despite the racial segregation that existed in the U.S. armed forces at the time. You can learn more about them online or at the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton Ohio, the World War ll Museum in New Orleans, the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site in Tuskegee Alabama, the National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., and I am sure many other museums. They were also featured in the mini-series “Masters of the Air”.

Spring has Sprung, week 5: Lookalike

I have dressed Emily to look like me! She is wearing a navy blue cardigan over a white tee, an infinity scarf, slacks, and flats. Oh and glasses too. Not very exciting, but something I would wear to work. She looks a bit like a (younger!) me; however my hair is just plain brown.

Spring has Sprung, AG 24: Endangered Species

Liv loves elephants! She is hoping to help raise awareness of the plight of her favorite animal. Both species of African elephant (savanna and forest) have been listed as endangered since 2021. Their populations have declined during the last few decades due to poachers seeking ivory and loss of habitat.

Liv’s friend, Kira, has come over to help brainstorm ideas for a “Protect the Elephants” campaign.

No sign of Xander or his time travel device. I’m getting worried. Where ( or when) can he be?

Spring has Sprung, week 6: Creativity

Xander is a young inventor who also loves history, so he has been working hard on a time travel device. Not sure where (or when!) he hopes to go; I just hope he will be careful!
