Let’s start off with a bang: Quentin Tarantino. What’s a bigger bang that? Writer, director, producer, and actor -- a quadruple effect of talent. His 2003 classic, Kill Bill: Vol. 1, was the first “R-Rated” film I watched when I was 7 years old - yes, with a parent. In fact, for a long time this movie scarred me. The gore, the language, and the suspense made me cringe and I couldn’t believe I was watching something like that, but I liked it. 

The clip above is my second favorite scene of the film. From the smallest details of color to the dialogue between the two women, now that I’m older and rewatch the film religiously, I’ve dissected the movies on a whole other level.

As a woman, and aspiring actress, I’ve become in love with having strong female lead roles in film, especially in action movies. Uma Thurman shows a abundance of strength and devotion in the character which is continued in Volume 2. 

Here’s the thing about Tarantino -- his movies are open ended but always contain a main topic. One could watch his most recent, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and ask themselves at the end: “but what next?” Like all his films, there’s never a next. He leaves up to the actor to determine the outcome of character’s circumstances outside of the film. 

Now, if you have yet popped your Tarantino cherry, nor have the ability to sit through a movie that’s 120+ minutes, you might want to start right now. Log off and follow my list of Tarantino movies to watch...
