An Accidental Mating Ch. 26 (A SidLink Omegaverse Story)
Chapter 26: Stressed Prince
“How dare you wed not in front of the council,” the high council member roared, slamming his hands on the table as he stood up. Sidon scowled, crossing his arms as he sat across the table with his father. “You know the rules here. The marriage is illegitamte unless at least one of us is present.”
“Is my father not part of the council?” Sidon asked with the sound of irritation in his voice, standing up as well. The other zora flinched. Sidon was tall and right now he ws using it to his advantage to get his voice heard.
“Yes but-”
“Then what seems to be the problem?” Sidon demanded. He was glad this father was next to him. He remained silent next to him but he knew that if things were getting out of hand he was going to have to step in.
It was his way of helping Sidon establish his stance with the council. In a number of years he would be king and he did not want his son to be a push over when it came to the council. He didn't want to see them run their Domain.
“You should have waited and done the celebreation. Now everything is going to go to waste. All that planning. What was such a rush?” the man retorted right away. “Are you hiding another pregnancy from the council?”
Sidon's eyes widened and he stuttered over his words which had the council member's eyes widening and seeming to have a win for now.
“Do not say such things,” he growled at the man.
“It must be true then,” the council member said. “You've been hiding another pregnancy and did not want to show the hylian in front of the others.”
“He has a name,” Sidon growled, his father resting a hand on his shoulder a moment to try to help him to calm down. They had a similar discussion to this back when Link had first arrived and had been looking for the father of his child.
They deemed it not their probem. If Sidon heard those words again he was sure he was going to go crazy.
“He may have a name but you have had two children that are not to be taking the throne,” the zora said. “And he is not propely a prince of the the domain. A hylian has no such place on the throne, especially without being properly wed.”
“Now hold on,” Muzu chimed in from his seat and stood up ad well. “After everything he has done for us I think we can all agree to let the marriage go. It is legitimate. The king has told us himself that he had married them.”
“He is still a hylian,” another sneered and Sidon's claws dug into the table before them. This again. He had thought they were past this all, especially after Link had risked his life to save them and all of hyrule.
“Enough,” the king's voice boomed out around them, everyone immediately taking their seats as Dorephan stood himself, a scowl on his face.
“I don't know how you feel about Link or anything but he has saved our lives and he is the rightful prince by marriage to my son,” the king said. “I will not have your prejudice on this council. Do I need to find new members to replace you?”
“No your majesty,” they mumbled to him which had Sidon relaxing a little bit. He knew they would still be here when he was king. He hoped they would show him this much respect as well as they did to his father.
“Then this discussion will come to a close. We will still have the reception ceremony but there is no need for the wedding again. I do not want to bring stress to the poor boy.”
“But the children,” the eldest started to say but was cut off.
“Has every right to be part of the royal family,” Sidon said, surprised at by how calm his own voice had been.
The door opened slowly and there Link stood, surprsie on his face as he held Ephira in his arms. He had heard many of the outbursts. Honestly most of the domain had.
“Sorry,” Link said as Ephira let out a small noise as she saw Sidon, holding her little arms out as her feet kicked.  “I thought the meeting would have been over. I'll just be on my way.”
“No need,” Sidon said as he got up from his seat and he bowed his head to his father. His father gave him a nod to show he was dismissed but as well as that he would be taking over from there. Sidon was getting too riled up.
The prince bent down and he gently took Ephira into his arms. The little Zora girl let out a yawn as she pressed herself against his scales.
Taking Link's hand with his free arm he walked him from the room.
“Is everything okay?” Link asked as the door closed behind them as they left the room. Sidon kept silent which concerned Link until they were out of sight of other Zoras.
There Sidon sat down and let out a sigh. Link shifted to stand in front of him, cupping his cheeks so he would look at him.
“Hey...” Link said softly, rubbing his thumbs against his cheeks. Sidon stared up at him, frustration burning in his gold eyes. “Talk to me Sidon.”
Sidon let out a sigh, leaning into his palm and let his eyes close. He was upset, frustrated. He wasn't sure what to do.
He hadn't felt like this since when he had realized that he was Link's mate but the confusion was still running through everyone with that Zora in disguise.
“I get so angry listening to them,” Sidon sighed. He knew when he woke up that morning he was going to have a problem. Sure enough word would get out and it had traveled fast.
Most were confused but they were just glad the reception would not go to waste.
“My father had to take over before I lost my temper. How am I to get them to listen to me as a king when they won't listen to me now?” he finished with a frustrated sigh.
Link caressed his cheek more and rubbed his scales. That couldn't have been an easy thing. Having to sit there and not have his voice heard.
Link was used to that sort of thing. He was used to being seen and not heard but Sidon was a prince. He was to be listened to, especially when he became king.
“I think you can do it,” Link said to him. “We just have to give you a better grasp on your temper when it comes to subjects that are close to your heart.”
Link knew it was about him and their children. He knew that it was a touchy subject and Sidon was going to do whatever he could to protect them.
Sidon groaned in frustration and closed his eyes tightly. “I don't know if I can. What if I never learn how to do it and let the council walk all over me?”
“Hey,” Link said, letting go of his cheek. The prince opened his eyes to look at his fiance. No...not fiance. Husband.
Link raised his arm, resting his hand on his bicep and grinned at him, giving a small wink. Something Sidon did all the time.
“Don't give up,” Link said with a grin on his face. “I believe in you.”
Sidon's eyes widened a bit and a smile grew across his face. Small claps came from Sidon's lap and the two of them saw Ephira clapping her hands as she let out a giggle.
“That's right sweetheart,” Sidon said, lifting their child up into his hands and kissed her cheeks. Link smiled, coming closer and hugged them.
“Just like Daddy,” Link said to her, kissing the top of her head fin. “To show Daddy that even his own words should be said to him at times like this.”
She let out a little giggle, tiny hands touching Sidon's face again.
“Dada..” she cooed.
“Oh how can I disagree with such a cutie,” Sidon chuckled, kissing her cheek and then pulled Link into his arms again.
“Good,” Link said, pulling Sidon to him and kissed his lips slowly. As he pulled away slowly he took Sidon's free hand and pressed it to his stomach. “And I know our other baby will agree with me fully. We never want to see you sad.”
“You say that so easily,” Sidon said with a weak smile. “But you're right. I'll give it my best. I want to be a good king for you all.”
“We have time,” Link said. “But for now I think you deserve a break from all this princely duty.”
“And what do you suggest my pearl?” Sidon asked him. Link sat back and tapped his chin, thinking of what he could do.
“I know. We just got married, we should take an extended trip for a little while after the reception. Go somewhere fun or something,” Link suggested.
Sidon was quiet a moment and then nodded his head, his head tail starting to wag behind him as Ephira touched his cheeks again.
“With Ephira right?” Sidon asked. Link laughed softly and nodded his head, rubbing his daughter's head a bit as she tapped Sidon's cheeks.
“Of course. I'm not letting either of you out of my sight,” Link responded.
Sidon smiled and pulled Link down into a soft kiss. The blonde let out a small sigh, holding back a soft noise of content.
Especially when he felt Ephira's fingers touching his face as well.
He pulled away and let out a soft laugh, kissing Ephira's curious fingers. She was so cute. She certainly took after her father.
“Where would you want to go?” Sidon asked him. Link tapped his chin. He knew it felt like they were running away. He hated that sinking feeling but he knew that if he didn't get Sidon out of the domain even for just a little while he would end up becoming even more stressed.
It could but a strain on himself as well as Link and Ephira. He wanted Sidon to be able to relax even for just a little while.
“There's a lot of places we can do” he said but then paused. “Well...we need to find a place that is That limits us.”
It was hard to decide. He wanted to find a place where they wouldn't have to go far so they could relax but make it safe for his family from the harsh elements. They were Zoras and weren't like Hylians that were able to adapt mostly to any location they went to. Even with Ephira being half hylian it still wouldn't be safe for her.
“Don't you have a home in Hateno village?” Sidon asked. “We can take a little trip down that way. I think Laurlien isn't too far from there either.”
Link's eyes slowly widened and the smile that stretch across his face left Sidon speechless after that. It might have something to do with the hormones running through Link's system due to his pregnancy but any time he smiled like this was a rare rat that should be admired.
“I do. That will be perfect. Thank you Sidon!” Link said to him, wrapping his arms around him. Sidon wrapped his arms around him and pulled him and Ephira up into his arms.
“Then let's go start planning our little trip. I want to put as much distance between myself and the council right now,” Sidon agreed.
Link leaned back into his strong embrace and nodded his head. He wanted to go on a trip with him. He wanted to just get Sidon to relax no matter what.
“I agree, let's go,” Link said, glancing behind Sidon as they walked away from the hall. The conversation had gotten quiet but he was angry deep inside despite the smile that had been on his face.
Part of him hated that Sidon was a prince. Not because of what he was born into but what he had to deal with. Sidon desersved to have a normal life for once. Both of them did.
He was glad Sidon had guided him out of that room. He knew he would have some choice words with those zoras in there about how they were treating himself but mostly his husband.
Husband...That was right, Sidon was his husband.

Wait, marriage angst?? What is your idea?? TELL US!!??
I’ll do you one better. I’ll WRITE it for you!
Kohga was bored. Really, really bored. His men were doing his bidding, as per usual, and for some reason, Kohga wasn’t tired enough for a nap. That left him with only so much to do. He was stuck in his own bed, when he sat up, realizing he knew what he could do. He could sneak into Sooga’s room, and make himself into a sexy little surprise for him. He was coming soon from fishing with Sidon anyway (Sooga and Sidon grew to be quite the good set of friends). He got out of his room, and snuck into Sooga’s, giddy as all hell for what he had planned.
“Alright, where does he keep the lube...god it’s like his room is in alphabetical order.”
Neat as hell, Sooga’s room. He dug into his drawers, and finally found the bottle he was looking for. He was about to get into his bed, when he accidentally dropped one of Sooga’s uniforms. He grumbled a bit before leaning down to pick it up, just in time to see a small, black box pop out. Sooga picked it up, looking it over in his hands. Huh. Well, Sooga’s stuff was HIS stuff, might as well take a peak. He wished he hadn’t.
It was a ring. The most beautiful, most stunning ring he’d ever seen in his entire life. Decorated in every type of gem under the sun, this could NOT have been cheap. He chuckled, finding it cute. Only, it clicked a second later.
Sooga was going to ask to marry him. Oh no. Oh no. No no no no no, a MILLION times no. He stammered, and with shaky hands, fixed everything up, making it look like he was never even there. He darted out of the room, totally ignoring everyone who tried to acknowledge him. He had to do something. Anything.
------------------------------------------------------
“Move.”
Sooga had come back from his fishing trip with Sidon, and had a gift for Kohga, right from Mipha herself. The blade master that was in charge of Kohga’s door, stayed put, shaking his head.
“Master Kohga said no one is allowed in. He’s talking with his bodyguard.”
Sooga cocked his head to the side, confused. HE was Kohga’s bodyguard, as well as his lover. That couldn’t be right.
“I’M his bodyguard, in case you’ve forgotten. Now, move.”
The blade master didn’t, shaking his head.
“Sorry Sooga. Looks like you’ve been replaced.”
That voice wasn’t taunting as usual. It was...cold, to the point. He meant what he said. He was about to press for more details, when a blade master walked out of the room, with Kohga following just behind him. A Blade Master...had been in his master’s room. This was serious. Kohga did NOT look happy to see him. If anything, he looked uncomfortable. Sooga knelt down a bit to his level, still holding the package in his hands.
“Master Kohga! Are you feeling well?”
Kohga wouldn’t look at him. He spoke, but towards the air, not towards him.
“I’m fine. Look, Sooga, you need a break. Why don’t you just. Go?”
“Go?...like, I’m being kicked out?”
Kohga finally looked up at him, in panic.
“No! No, not at all. I just...don’t want you around for a bit. Go fish or hunt or whatever you do. Just, go. Cil’s gonna take care of me for a while.”
The Blade master in front of him nodded, taking the package off of Sooga’s hands.
“Don’t worry. I will take great care of Master Kohga in your place, Sooga.”
Sooga stammered, before looking back at Kohga.
“M-master Kohga, please, I-”
Kohga pointed to the other direction, a snarl in his voice.
“I. Said. Go. Leave. That is a COMMAND.”
There was an awkward silence, before Kohga grumbled angrily.
“Cil, make sure he leaves. I’m...gonna take a nap.”
Kohga walked into his room, slamming the door. Cil looked down at him, and motioned towards to base’s entrance.
“Come on, you heard him. Out you go.”
Sooga slowly stood up, looking at his shaky palms.
“What...did I do?...”
Cil chuckled, shaking his head.
“Don’t know, don’t care. All I know is, you blew it, and now I’M in his good graces. Who knows if he’ll even remember you after he gets to know me.”
Sooga put his hands on his blade, when the other blade master put his hand on his chest.
“You know how this works. Kohga makes the orders, you obey. Until he says otherwise, you are NOT to be here. Please leave with dignity, Sooga.”
Sooga halted a moment, before turning around, and leaving. He understood not what was happening. What he DID know was that a command from Kohga WAS a command, even if it hurt him, deep inside his heart.
-----------------------------------------
“This was SUCH a nice idea Link!”
Mipha lightly clapped her hands together. Link had suggested that Mipha, Impa, Zelda, and himself go camping. Mipha wasn’t a real outdoorsy type like her boyfriend, but so long as she was with him, she was having a grand ol time. Impa nodded, getting a blanket for the princess (as to not scuff her pretty clothes).
“I gotta agree. Though, I could go with some food that isn’t JUST apples.”
Link took the hint, and just so happened to spot a deer in the distance. He forced everyone into silence, and was about to fire with his bow and arrow, when suddenly the deer went down. Link cocked his head to the side, only to see the assailant was none other than Sooga. He hoisted the deer over his shoulder, only to catch Link’s gaze.
“Link?”
Mipha looked past the brush, and waved at Sooga.
“Sooga! It’s a pleasure! Out on a date with Kohga?”
Sooga shook his head, walking towards their little camp.
“Afraid not. I’m by myself today. Would you all like to share this?”
Upon everyone seeming satisfied with that idea, and Sooga had no issues skinning and hacking away at the animal, even going so far as to put the meat right over the fire. Mipha, ever the mindful one, seemed to catch that Sooga was...distracted.
"Sooga? Where...IS Kogha?"
"At the clan. He...told me to go hunting for some reason. Nothing to worry about."
"What makes you think I'm worried?"
"I can see it all over your face."
Sooga wanted to clearly not touch on it, but as soon as Mipha put her hand onto his, he conceded defeat. Big muscles did nothing against a big heart.
"I've...been replaced, it seems. Master Kohga no longer requires my services."
NO ONE was expecting that clearly. Though no one also didn’t expect IMPA to have the reaction she had.
"Kohga? Replaced YOU? That UNGRATEFUL- how DARE he? You're the only one who puts up with him and he REPLACED you? What's the new guys name?"
"Cil."
"Oh that's even a stupid name- princess cover your royal ears, I'm about to NOT be lady like!"
Impa wasn't exactly protective of Sooga, but she did value loyalty, and she knew what it was like to be a devoted servant. She HATED the idea of someone using their servants as mere tools, rather than close companions. Zelda held her hand up, signaling Impa to calm down.
"Sooga, would you care to explain what you mean? This seems VERY unlike you and Kohga. Are you sure this isn't a misunderstanding?"
Sooga nodded solemnly, having lost that hope for quite some time.
“It is not. Master Kohga told me to leave, and a new blade master has taken my stead. I’ve been here ever since.”
Impa, hands on her hips, was more furious than ever, hands on her hips.
“How long have you BEEN out here?”
“Four days, I believe.”
“Four d-oh that is IT! I’m going there to give him a piece of my mind!”
She tried to stomp away, before Sooga grabbed at her hair, making her fall to the dirt. She looked up at him, wiping her face free from the muk.
“What was that-”
“No one is to harm Master Kohga, so long as I can help it.”
“How are you still defending him?!”
Impa got up in his face, and he refused to look away from the cooking meat. He was not scared of ANY sheikah, let alone one so young and foolish.
“Because he is my Master, till the day I die. I love him. That’s all there is to it.”
Mipha butted in, suspecting a fight.
“Why don’t I go talk to him? We’re friends, I’m sure he just needs someone to hear him out. For all we know, this is truly just a mistake.”
Mipha placed her hand on Sooga’s knee, and he felt himself relaxing under her touch. She was truly a very sweet little zora.
“If...it is not a burden, I would appreciate that. Very, very much.”
-----------------------------------------------------
“Mipha! If it isn’t my favorite little fishy! How have you been?”
Mipha graced him with a surprise visit, and with the whole Sooga situation, he welcomed it. She smiled at him, embracing him in a tight embrace.
“I’m quite well, quite well! Did you receive the last gift I sent you?”
“I did! Let me tell you, I’m saving that outfit next time I visit the rito village!”
She chuckled, walking alongside him as they walked to Kohga’s ‘guest room’ (aka just an extra room with a small dining table). She sat down next to him, and Kohga was clearly eager to hear her speak.
“So! What brings you over? Just wanted to visit the studliest guy you know?”
“That as well. But I do in fact, need a favor.”
“Name it, lil’ red.”
“Well, we’ve been studying the properties of electric resistant materials. We have the electric darners and the like, but we would appreciate some voltfruit. Two crates, if possible.”
“Done! Cil!”
The blade master walked to his side, bowing respectfully.
“Yes, Master Kohga.”
“Have the boys get two crates of voltfruit ready for her, and have a few blade masters on standby to carry it for her, I don’t want her to lift a finger.”
“Right away, Master Kohga. Shall I fetch you some snacks as well?”
“Yeah, whatever you guys got. And tea, they know which one Mipha likes.”
“Anything else, Master Kohga?”
“No, that’s it.”
Kohga smacked his cheek a bit, and Cil backed away, practically giddy. Mipha decided now was as good of a time as ever.
“So...he’s new.”
“Oh yeah. Nice guy. Super attentive. Almost annoying, honestly. But he does his job.”
“What of Sooga?”
Kohga halted. He refused to fully acknowledge it, until he sighed.
“I...don’t wanna talk about it. But I do, I guess. I...I dunno.”
Mipha reached over to hold his hand, offering him a soft, sweet smile.
“If you don’t want to talk about it, I will not force your hand. However, I do think you’ll feel much better if you talk about it. You helped me and Link. Let me help you and Sooga.”
Kohga stopped, before softly sighing. He exchanged the grip on her hand, clearly needing the physical support.
“I...went into Sooga’s room. And...I found a ring. Sooga wanted to propose to me.”
Mipha’s face lit up, just how he knew she would.
“Oh! How lovely! Was...the ring not enough?”
“No, not at all. It was stunning, really. Prettiest thing I’ve ever seen.”
“So...the issue lies where?”
He looked over at her puzzled face. His next words clearly surprised her.
“I don’t want to marry him.”
Mipha covered her mouth with her other hand.
“But, don’t you love him?”
“I do!”
Kohga took his hand away, using it as a means to help him talk.
“I love him! A LOT! He’s the most serious relationship that I’ve ever been in! He’s sweet, he’s handsome, he’s caring, he KNOWS me! I love him half to death! I just-”
He stopped, scratching like hell at his head. How to explain this? How to translate this to someone as sweet and pure as her.
He groaned, letting his face thunk onto the counter.
“I don’t want to commit. I don’t want to be stuck into something I can’t get out of. I don’t want this to be a thing that keeps me from doing things I like. What if he ends up not being the one? What if once we get married, he changes? Turns stifling, or wants KIDS? God what if he wants KIDS, Mipha?! I’m the cool gay uncle, not a dad!”
Mipha didn’t seem to get it fully. Of course she didn’t. But like everything she did, she tried very hard to help the wounded. She leaned over and placed her hand at his cheek. He met her eyes, her soft, kind gaze.
“Kohga. I do not fully understand not wanting to be wed. I’ve wanted to be wed since I was a guppy. But I do understand that this is a lot for you to take in. However, I want you to understand that you are not the only one hurt. Sooga has been out in the woods, awaiting you and hunting.”
“Oh my god he ACTUALLY went hunting- I was fucking with him.”
Mipha softly chuckled, shaking her head.
“I know. However, this relationship isn’t just you. It’s Sooga. You aren’t going to like this, but you need to apologize to him. You pushed him away with no explanation, no reasoning. Pain is worse when it is unwarranted. Please, say you’ll talk to him and ask for his forgiveness. He is devoted to you. He deserves to at least have that respect.”
“....Yeah. Yeah, you might have a point, Mipha.”
“I’d like to think so. Would you like to finish tea time before we get Sooga?”
“...Yeah, honestly. Better swallow this before I swallow my pride.”
------------------------------
“Anything from Mipha yet?”
Link shook his head, not seeing a message from her on the sheikah slate yet. Impa had just finished hearing the whole situation from Sooga’s end, and she seemed to get more and more steamed as the story went on. By the time he finished, she stood up, hands on her hips.
“I know your problem!”
“Pardon?”
“I know your problem! He’s lost respect for you!”
Sooga wasn’t getting this, and neither did anyone else it seemed. Impa leaned down to look him in his face, jabbing her finger in his chest.
“You need to show him you’re strong, confident! You need to go over there and DEMAND a reason!”
“But...I’ve been kicked out of the clan. It is against the rules to-”
“Is your love for Kohga NOT above the rules?!”
Sooga blinked. She...had a real good point, actually. He thought about it for a second, before firmly nodding.
“You’re right. The law is NOTHING in the shadow of my affections for my Master.”
“Right?! So you need to get up off this log! You need to go right up there! And you need to show him you’re SERIOUS about him!”
Sooga found himself suddenly standing up, hands in fists.
“You’re right! Absolutely right! I CANNOT stand by and let him think his love ISN'T worth fighting for!”
“HELL YES!”
Impa punched him in his chest, and that somehow lit Sooga up like a fire. WIth that classic Yiga skill, he poofed into nothing but talismans. Zelda looked over at Impa, sighing.
“You know, Impa, I value your tenacity.”
“Thank you, Princess!”
“But...you understand that this could not end well, right?”
“....yeah. Oops.”
------------------------------------
“Thanks again, Mipha. I needed that.”
“Of course. I’m very glad you listened to my words. I wish you both the best. I hope S-”
“Princess, excuse us.”
Suddenly Sooga was just right there, butting right in between him and the princess. Cil was right at Kohga’s side, readying his blade, before Sooga swatted his hand away, disarming him in a heartbeat. His eyes met Kohga, and he tried terribly hard not to embrace him. He missed him terribly, he just wanted to hug him.
“You two, leave. I need a word with him.”
Cil was about to attack, when Kohga held his hand, stopping him.
“N-no. It’s fine. He’s right. We do need to talk.”
“Good. Your room. WITHOUT your new pet.”
Sooga practically herded Kohga into his room, as if he was cattle. Then the door slammed behind him. This was weird. He was standing so aggressively over him, and Kohga looked so...meek. Apologetic.
What was wrong with them?
Sooga was about to raise his voice, demanding reasoning for his heartache, only for him to suddenly go onto one knee.
“I...I missed you, so much. Please, please don’t kick me out again. My heart longed for you every minute I was away from you. Please, please tell me what I did wrong. I’ll never do it again, I swear it.”
Kohga lost his meek demeanor, groaning and scratching his head.
“You...didn’t do anything.”
Sooga looked up, head cocked.
“I...don’t understand?”
“You didn’t do anything! That’s the problem! You’re perfect! You LOVE me! You wanted to MARRY me, Sooga!”
Sooga’s eyes lit in recognition.
“You..found the ring, didn’t you?”
“Yeah, I did. And I...didn’t want you to ask. So I kicked you out until I knew you’d not wanna ask me.”
“I...I’d never want to stop asking you.”
Kohga threw his hands up in frustration.
“That’s the problem!! You wanna get married, you wanna settle down, I bet you wanna have kids too don’t you?!”
“I’d….like twelve, honestly.”
“Fucks SAKE!”
Kohga turned a full three sixty, gesturing to him wildly.
“That’s CRAZY! You love me! And I can’t bring myself to make such a huge commitment! What if we change when we get married? What if I decide I DON’T want this?! What if we get TIRED of each ot-”
Sooga reached over to hold onto his hand. For a moment, everything was silent, easy as a still lake. Sooga lightly shook his head.
“Then you do not have to say yes.”
“But! Aren’t you gonna be stupid humilated if-”
“I won’t. I want to marry you, very much. I want to be with you, and I want to be deemed worthy of being your husband. But not at the expense of your happiness. Your joy is my own. I can be reincarnated a thousand times over, and STILL want your hand. But it doesn’t matter. Your joy is my joy, your sorrow is my sorrow. I will wait until you’re ready.”
“What if I’m not ready? Ever?”
“That is fine. If I can love you in ANY degree, I will accept it. Even if you wed another, I will not stop having love for you. Just...please. Don’t ask me to leave you, ever again. I trust no one but me to take care of you. Not that ‘Cil’ fellow. I hate his name.”
Kohga’s hand lightly shook, before he suddenly lunged at Sooga, wrapping his arms around him. Sooga stayed there for a moment, before he sighed, wrapping his arms around him. He missed this body, missed this voice and this warmth. Kohga sniffed, wiping his face in his shoulder.
“I hate him too, he’s such a kiss ass. And his ass is SO flat.”
That earned an actual, good laugh from Sooga. Yeah.
He was worth loving, ring or not.

Siren Song
[link to Ao3 | part 1 in a series]
Sidon was made for the sea.
Sure, his titles and regalia might insist otherwise, that he was a prince doomed to a life of papers and courtesy and fancy dinners - all of which he could do quite well, of course, but none of which were particularly interesting, let alone his passion.
The sea, though. The sea had called to him since he was a young boy, trailing after his older sister. Every morning, when the tide had rolled back out, they would walk along the shore, searching in the pools left behind for little fish. Sidon had dutifully carried the bucket full of water, while Mipha scooped up the fish, careful to avoid hurting them, and gently placed them into the bucket. When they had walked as far as they could go, Mipha would take the bucket from him, count the fish they had found, and carried it to the shoreline. Just as carefully as she had rescued the fish, she submerged the bucket before turning it over, letting the fish swim away into the sea again.
“The sea takes care of us, Sidon,” he remembered her saying in that soft voice. “We must be sure to take care of it the same way.”
He remembered those words in his darker moments as well, starting with the news that his beloved sister had been on a ship caught in a storm, swept overboard and lost to the waves. Where was the sea’s care then? Had Mipha been wrong?
But the sea still called to him. It called to him as he learned to read and write, called to him as he practiced rolling melodies on the piano, called to him as he learned the history of his people. And every morning, he dutifully walked with a pail of water, watching as the fish seemed to grow smaller as his body grew larger, until he could pick up the smallest of them in a single cupped hand. He knew the danger of the water, but couldn’t escape its beauty.
It was returning from one of these morning walks, almost at the foot of the cliff where the castle stood, that he heard the sound of laughter. Bright, bubbly, almost childlike; he turned to look behind him, where the sound came from, but found nothing. Perplexed, Sidon shrugged with his typical good cheer and continued heading for the castle. The laughter came again. This time, it seemed to come from farther up the shore, near where the cliff met water. Overcome with curiosity, Sidon set his bucket down, heading over to the water.
“Hello? Is someone out there? I know the water is quite lovely here, but it can be dangerous, especially for a child! If someone’s there, please - ”
He was cut off by the same laughter, but was startled to see that from the spot where it emanated, a face had appeared under the water. He couldn’t see much other than bright blue eyes and golden hair floating about their face. Immediately he feared for their safety, sure that they would run out of air if they stayed under much longer.
“Hold on!” Sidon began rolling up his pants, quickly wading into the water after the stranger. To his surprise, they only pushed their head above water, laughing again as they propelled backwards, eyes fixed on the prince’s. Without the barrier of the water, the laughter was even more entrancing; alarm ebbing away, Sidon followed them, curiosity replacing his fright. The stranger seemed playful, splashing water his way before retreating yet again, smiling brightly at Sidon. He couldn’t help but follow, now up to his waist in water.
He was almost to the point where he would need to start swimming when a sharp voice cut through his thoughts, which were now solely focused on the stranger.
“Your highness!”
The stranger startled, diving below the water again as Sidon gaped. He watched as a dark spot sped along the side of the cliff, disappearing around the curve. Angrily, he turned to the intruder - one of his father’s most trusted advisors, an old man named Muzu.
“Muzu! You’ve gone and frightened them! Now they’re in deeper water. What if they get in trouble?”
Muzu wrinkled his nose. “Unlikely, your highness, as that was no human. You nearly let yourself be seduced by one of the merfolk. If anyone was in trouble, it would be you.”
Sidon glanced back to where the stranger - merfolk? - had disappeared. “They didn’t seem to be so bad. I think they just wanted to play.” A bit of gold reappeared from beyond the bend, and his new friend slowly peeked back out, hands gripping the wet rock. Lifted out of the water as he was now, Sidon could see that he was a young man, lean but muscled, his tanned waist blending down into rich blue scales. Strands of something glittered over his chest, while fabric rode low on where his hips would be on a human. Sidon bit his lip to avoid saying anything and alerting Muzu to his continued presence.
“No merfolk just wants to play,” Muzu corrected, loathing in his tone. “Merfolk hate humans and would drown them all if they could.” Sidon spared a look to the merman, who rapidly shook his head, eyes wide. “Why one came so close to the land, I would not know; probably some nefarious purpose, bored of terrorizing the open sea. If I have told his majesty once, I have told him a thousand times: we ought to catch and kill any we see, to protect our sailors.”
Sidon’s new friend quailed at this, pulling out of sight. With a barely audible splash, his shadow sped away again, until even that was swallowed up by the waves.
“Muzu!” Sidon snapped again, brows furrowing. “Enough. Why are you here?”
“Have you no idea of the time? You are supposed to meet with visiting nobility in less than an hour! You must hurry to be dressed and ready. Your father will be most displeased if you arrive late - again.”
Sidon sighed, shoulders dropping. In that, at least, Muzu was right, so he followed the old Zora up the steps that lead back to the castle. That night, however, his dreams were plagued with golden hair and spellbinding blue eyes.
-
Every day that followed, Sidon kept an ear out for the telltale laughter that signaled the arrival of his friend, but he was nowhere to be found. Days turned into weeks; weeks turned into months. He had almost given up on seeing the beautiful merman again when he found himself in a secluded cove, a place he had found years ago and visited when the pressures of princehood began to weigh too heavily on his shoulders. He had barely settled onto a roughly hewn bench, eyes drifting shut for a moment, when he heard a light splash followed by bright laughter.
His eyes shot back open, heart leaping into his throat. Despite only hearing it a handful of times, he could recognize that laugh anywhere. Sure enough, after a moment the merman popped above the water, beaming at Sidon. Sidon hurried to the edge of the water, kneeling down as his friend drifted over to him, pushing himself up into the cool evening air. From this closer view, he could see that it was shells cascading over his chest, strand after strand, and the fabric tied around his waist had yet more tied along its length.
“Good evening!” Never let it be said that Sidon forgot his manners. “I was beginning to think you’d been scared off!”
The merman laughed again at this, shaking his head.
“Good, good. Muzu makes quite a ruckus, I know, but he can’t harm you. You have my word.”
The merman tilted his head, looking amused.
“Ah - right, but I should introduce myself. I am Sidon, prince of the Zora kingdom!”
The merman made a sweeping bow that almost dunked his face back in the water before grinning up at him again, but made no move to give his own name.
“And you are…?” Sidon gently pressed. The merman had yet to say a single word. For a moment, he wondered if he had rambled too much, talked when the merman had wanted to speak. But still his friend remained silent, smile sliding into a thoughtful frown. “I’m sorry, have I been rude?”
The merman was quick to shake his head, waving his hands back and forth to reinforce the gesture. He pointed to himself, then hit one index finger with another. This was followed, to Sidon’s growing confusion, by the merman holding up four fingers, tapping his chin with his index.
“I’m - I’m sorry, I don’t understand what that means.”
His friend watched him for a moment, clearly thinking of how to try again. After a moment, he tapped his throat and shook his head.
“You can’t… speak. Is that right?”
The merman nodded, pleased that this time Sidon had understood.
“Oh! My dear friend, I am so sorry. And here I’ve been prattling on at you…”
The merman waved his hands again, shaking his head even more rapidly than before. His eyes lit up, and he pointed to himself again, then formed interlocking circles with his hands, tugging them against each other before giving Sidon a hopeful look.
“You - your name? That means your name?”
The merman nodded vigorously, repeating the second sign again. It almost looked as though he were mimicking the chains that were used to haul cargo onto ships.
“Chain?” Sidon ventured, earning an exasperated look. The merman flipped his tail - Sidon felt a thrill as it breached the water, an alluring shade of teal with the same gold as his hair at the tips - and dove into the water, popping back up again after a moment and staring at him, making the sign again. Sidon could practically feel the exaggerated patience the merman had. “Not chain, but…” The merman used one hand to point at the circle his other made before linking them back together. Hold on - “Link? Is that it?”
Link beamed at him, nodding. Sidon laughed, more out of surprise than anything else.
“Link. Your name is Link. And how would you show my name, then?”
Link pointed at Sidon, eyes flashing in amusement, but didn’t elaborate further. Sidon gave him a playful grimace.
“No, I mean, to others. How would you show my name to others?”
The merman quickly moved through a series of signs with one hand. Sidon blinked. Link laughed, that beautiful, sparkling laugh, and pointed to himself again, then drew a little circle in the air above his forehead.
“You… you’ll think about it?” Link nodded, and Sidon felt quite proud of himself. It seemed he was beginning to understand how his lovely merman talked. He leaned forward, clasping his hands together. He wanted to take Link’s hands in his, but after learning his only way to communicate, it didn’t feel appropriate. “Wonderful! I hope we become good friends this way, Link.”
Link’s laughter echoed off the cove’s walls, and Sidon could feel himself melt.

Hello I was wondering if you can do Sidon meeting his s/o's family
(Hehehe~ This one was fun~ You have a younger brother in this for the sake of content, hope that’s okay. His name is Bobby because I’m creative. Enjoy!~)
Meeting The Family
Word Count: 2509Warnings: Fluff, mentions of violence at the end, anxious thoughts
“Maybe this isn’t such a good idea,” you murmur coming to a stop in the middle of the Great Zora Bridge.
“Love we have been planning this visit for a month, it would be a shame to let all that effort go to waste,” Sidon replied as he also came to a halt letting his hand rest on your shoulder to give it a comforting squeeze. That one squeeze seemed to make that tense feeling coursing throughout your entire body release some stress but you still couldn’t shake all of it off. “Not to mention, it’s about time your family got to meet me.”
You let out a soft sigh and nod your head offering a timid smile knowing that he is right as always. You’ve been wanting to do this for so long though that didn’t make it any less nerve-wracking.
None of your family members have ever seen Sidon, they don’t even know his name! It was always something that you wanted to mention to them but every time you got so nervous that you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. Now you are introducing your nine-foot Zora boyfriend who just so happens to be the Prince and future King of the entire Zora Domain. You have no idea how they are going to react when you finally break the news to them. You were still in shock about Sidon being yours, you could only imagine what they’ll say and everything that they say does not make you feel any better.
“Darling.” You snap out of your worried trance to look up at Sidon who is now kneeling in front of you a warm smile on his face when you meet eyes with him. “I fear that you may drown in all of your doubts and worries before we even reach the house, my pearl,” he said with an amused chuckle and you turn your head your cheeks flushing embarrassed.
“Sorry, I just can’t help but think about what they might say… I never told them who you are,” you confess as you fiddle with your clothing staring at the rocky mountains that outlined the river running beneath the bridge, anything to keep from meeting eyes with your lover.
Sidon is quiet for just a moment before standing up and dusting himself off before holding a hand out to you. “Then let’s make this a pleasant surprise,” he states confidently and you can’t help but smile a little as you take hold of his larger hand. “I will be right here, no matter what transpires today. Nothing they could say will make me reconsider my feelings for you.”
The confidence in his voice must be contagious because you’re sure that some of it sinks into your skin and chases your nerves away. You nod and he nods in return letting his fingers curly to gently grasp your hand so that the two of you may continue your journey to your childhood home.
Sidon seems endlessly curious about everything you pass by when you draw nearer to your home and start to recognize your surroundings. You cannot blame him; he has wanted to see the place that you grew up in ever since you mentioned it to him when you first started dating.
Back in the Zora Domain you had been surrounded by his childhood; King Dorephan and even some of the citizens would tell you all about the people he had grown up with, the places that he went, and all the things he used to do as a child. The King himself loved to tell you all kinds of stories the little rascal that Sidon used to be when he was young, much to Sidon’s disdain. Now he could see everything that influenced you to become the person that you are today.
However, as things become more familiar to you, your nerves slowly return crawling up from your feet and inching their way up your body. When you finally spot the small village, everything skyrockets and it’s almost impossible for you to move forward as your eyes fall upon the familiar building standing near the open grassy fields that is your home. It is a little far from the village square so that saves you the terror of having to walk straight through the center of town practically parading Sidon through the streets for everyone to see. Standing here though, just the walk to your old front door seems like such a daunting task.
“This was a bad idea, we should go,” you say pulling back on Sidon’s hand as you take a few steps back. Sidon, however, does not budge and his hand gives you another gentle squeeze of reassurance before he takes a small step forward ushering for you to do the same. For a brief moment, you remain frozen in place but then you meet his eyes and see the tenderness in his gaze your legs stop feeling like jelly and move forward to follow your guide.
How funny that the one who has never been here must lead the way to your house.
You point him in the right direction and although Sidon picks up the pace the walk to the door takes hours, or that’s what it feels like at least. Eventually, you make it there and you can already see someone peeking through the curtains of the house’s window. Climbing the stone steps, you take the lead and warn Sidon to be careful of his head considering how this house was not really built with someone of such a tall stature as his in mind. The Zora must bend over a little as a precaution releasing your hand in the process so as not to prevent you from rushing up the door fueled by some new energy. Probably excitement but mostly fear
Yeah, definitely fear.
You’re just about to knock on the door when it suddenly flings open and your brother’s form replaces it, standing in the archway looking up at you with a big smile. “You’re here!” He exclaims almost in disbelief though you knew that everyone had been informed that you would be coming today. You smile back at him and he just laughs before leaping up at you giving you only a second to react and catch him in your arms, hugging him close to your chest.
“You knuckle-head, you could’ve taken me out,” you scold though you can hear yourself laughing with him as he wraps his arms around your neck giggling giddily.
“Good,” he says looking up at you with that familiar mischievous glint in his eyes that you hadn’t realized you missed, “then you would have to stay here while you recover!” He replies smiling smugly like he’s proud of that fact.
You playfully scoff and let him slip to the ground so his feet can touch while one of your arm wraps around his neck while the other gives his head a thorough nuggie. “You little punk!” He squirms in your arm trying to wriggle his way out of your grasp.
You’re so caught up in your little punishment that you completely forget about Sidon’s presence until you hear him let out a deep chuckle and your attention as well as the attention of your brother is directed towards the Zora. “Oh please, don’t let my presence interrupt this happy reunion,” he says smiling at the two of you fondly. You laugh a little but release your brother regardless, letting your hands sit on his shoulders turning him to face Sidon.
“Who’re you?” Your brother asks rather rudely and you wonder if your parents told him why you were visiting or it may be that he just doesn’t realize Sidon is the one.
“Hey, be nice,” you scold, genuinely this time, clearing your throat before speaking again. “Um, Sidon this is my brother Bobby,” you say whilst gesturing towards your brother, “Bobby this is my… boyfriend Sidon,” you gesture back to Sidon who smiles and gives the young boy a friendly wave.
“So, you’re Bobby? My pearl, has told me much about you-!”
Bobby quickly cuts the Zora off when he puts his hands on either side of Sidon’s face surprising both of you. “This is the one who stole you away from me? I didn’t know you were into fish,” he huffs before storming back into the house leaving you both in stunned silence.
Well, that went as well as you had expected.
“B-Bobby, get back over here! I’m so sorry Sidon, I didn’t think that he would do something like that. He’s usually really nice to people,” you say as you hurry into the house after your brother, “Mom! Dad! I’m home,” you call out before turning back to the door waving for Sidon to come home glad that it isn’t too small for him to fit through.
“No, no dear it is fine. It was certainly a surprise but I would not say I didn’t expect a little negative response,” Sidon said as he entered the living room of the home looking around curiously having to bend down ever so slightly because there wasn’t quite enough head room.
“Oh, honey it’s so glad to finally see you,” your mom says greeting you with a warm hug that you happily reciprocate.
“It’s good to see you too,” You pull away from her and then give your dad an equally warm hug. It really did feel great to see them again especially after so long. Your dad pulls back and smiles at you before his eyes wander over to the other visitor in his home. “Oh,” you move closer to Sidon and take hold of his hand to help steady yourself. He gives you a gentle squeeze in return and you take a deep breath but Sidon speaks before you can even begin your introduction.
“My name is Sidon, Prince of the Zora, and lover of your wonderful child. It is a pleasure to meet you two.” He greets laying on that princely charm extra thick with a polite bow of his head.
Your parents both stare at him for a moment before their gazes shift to you as if wanting confirmation that what they have just been told is true, like the fact that you’re holding hands is not quite enough. A sheepish smile appears on your lips and you nod your head slowly. Both adults look at each other seeming to have a full conversation with just their gaze and each second of silence that ticks by just makes you more uneasy.
Finally, after what feels like forever, your mother breaks the silence and smiles at the two of you before saying, “Well Sidon, it is a pleasure to meet you too. I must say this is a surprise, we weren’t expecting someone like you,” those words make you freeze in place and for a second you think that she is going to react just like Bobby did. “We’ve never had a prince in our home before, honey you should’ve told me, I would’ve tidied up more.”
Sidon chuckles and shakes his head, “No everything is perfect, you take very good care of your home.”
Your mother smiles clearly flattered by such a sweet compliment but waves his compliment off. “Oh, you. Please have a seat, shall I get you anything? Water, lemonade, anything?”
Surprisingly, everything went up hill from there, better than you could’ve ever expected. You knew that your parents would be apprehensive about Sidon but that only seemed to last the first hour, after everyone sat down and got to talk over some of your mom’s homemade lemonade and cookies, they were practically just as in love with him as you were. Your mother loved how kind he was and definitely adored all the flattery that he threw her way so her initial worries about his rather intimidating demeanor were washed away with those. Your father seemed to like his respect and politeness that helped to reassure him that you were in safe hands.
Bobby, on the other hand, was a struggle.
For most of the visit he only observed the meeting, watching the group as they talked only occasionally coming closer to steal some lemonade or a cookie. He lurked in the far corners of the room or behind the couches the four of you were sitting on always staring daggers at the Zora intruding on his life. Eventually, you became fed up with Bobby’s refusal to even talk to Sidon, because everything was going so perfect why did he need to be so difficult? You were finally comfortable being with your parents and the Zora you didn’t want anyone else to be upset about this.
“Bobby, Sidon is not here to hurt anybody just come and meet him, he was really looking forward to meeting you.” You say turning your head to face the Hylian boy hiding behind the chair that you and the Zora were sitting on. Your brother only huffed in response and you rolled your eyes grabbing his shirt to keep him from leaving. “If you want to say something then say it, you punk.”
“I don’t want to say anything to him,” Bobby groans trying to pull away but your vice grip prevents him from escaping so he crosses his arms over his chest.Sidon beats you to the punch once again making an eager suggestion to the boy, “Perhaps you would feel better if you learned more about me, Bobby?” He smiled wide flashing his signature sharp-toothed smile.
The boy looked up and his eyes widened ceasing his efforts to escape in favor of staring at the Zora’s wide smile. “Whoa, how many teeth do you have?”Sidon grinned and you laugh softly as you let go of Bobby’s shirt knowing that he won’t leave while under Sidon’s charm. “Much more than any Hylian and each one is razor sharp for fighting and hunting, it is quite a vicious bite,” The Zora explained chomping at the air to show off his teeth to Bobby completely enraptured by the mention of fighting.
“Cool! Have you ever fought anybody? Did you get that scar from a fight? What happened? Was it bloody?”
“My friend, I have fought more enemies than I care to count. Funny that you should mention that, this scar is actually from one of my proudest and toughest battles. Now that one was bloody, you see, there was a village not too far from here…”
You shake your head with a soft laugh as Sidon tells his story, turning back to pick up your glass from the coffee table but stopped halfway when you noticed the look on your parents’ faces. Wary and concerned, clearly, they were not as impressed by Sidon’s battle story as Bobby was.
“But I didn’t stop there! Within the disgusting belly of the great beast I continued to fight piercing its flesh with my spear!”
You chuckle rather stiffly and then take a sheepish sip of your lemonade. At least they were bonding.

OOH can we see how Kohga would react to Mipha asking for relationship advice? Since she’d see how devoted and passionate Sooga is for his Master, and not really anyone else in their group is in a relationship soooo
I’m just obsessed with him just adoring Mipha and trying his ass off to get her and Link together it’s so cute
One, thank you for recognizing the fact that Kohga playing Mipha’s wingman is possibly the best idea I’ve EVER had. Two, I am SO ready to start this absolute soft shit. Smut is fun and all, but come on, Kohga trying to hook bitches up is amazing. And third, this got waay out of hand, so enjoy some double dates here.
“So, did you get me something?”
Sooga hardly left Master Kohga’s side. Whenever he had to, be it to lend a hand elsewhere; he had TWO rules to follow; come home to him at the end of the day, and bring him something. Kohga had been sitting here, having tea with Mipha, while Sooga offered to help Sidon hunt for sneaky river snails (Sooga had a real knack for knowing where to find them). They came back with quite the haul, so the fact that he managed to get anything else was nothing to scoff at. He put the large bag of fish down on the floor, and from his pockets, produced a small cage. Inside the cage was what appeared to be a winterwing butterfly. Kohga clapped his hands together, clearly loving it.
“Ooh, I’ve been looking for one of these!”
“I know. It was why I had to stop in the middle of fishing to catch it for you. I may have let Sidon fall in the water in my haste. Maybe.”
Mipha cocked her head to the side upon seeing his reaction to the small bug.
“You like bugs?”
“Just the butterflies. I only keep them for a day or two before I let them go, I just think they’re neat.”
Kohga took a hold of Sooga’s chin, grinning from ear to ear.
“And SOMEONE seemed to remember me saying I wanted this specific one. You’re such a sap, Sooga.”
Sooga was trying (and failing) not to smile.
“I listen to EVERY word you say, master Kohga.”
“Ugh, you’re being mushy again. Get outta my face, go help shark boy with the fish.”
Kohga tried to look mean as he gently pushed his face away, but it was plainly obvious; Kohga loved him. Sooga pardoned himself, hoisted the bag over his shoulder, and walked off with Sidon. Mipha took a sip of her tea, watching as Kohga lightly shook his head. She knew it was a bad emotion to feel, but she couldn’t resist feeling a bit jealous. They were so happy with one another, and yet, her own love and affections were clearly not recognized by the one boy she loved, more than anything. Perhaps…
“Kohga? Can I ask something?”
“Whatever you want.”
Kohga stopped ogling his boyfriend for a second and gave her his attention, snacking on the cookies she made, just for him (shaped in just the cutest seashells). She squirmed a bit in her seat, unsure of how to go about it, before she finally came out with it.
“How...did you get someone to love you, the way Sooga does?”
Kohga stopped eating for a second, looking at her sullen face. This little fish was just sweeter than banana bread, and it hurt poor ol’ Kohga to see her love so much, without Goldilocks even talking about it with her. Sure they were young, and they had forever to talk about this stuff, but there was no time like the present.
“Sooga is a fucking idiot, for one, and I attract idiots. Second, you kinda just. Come out with it. We started off as friends before anything, and that’s now all relationships start. Course, your case is a BIT different from mine. You want my honest opinion? Just shoot your shot. I mean, worst he’s gonna say is no. Or nothing with his mute ass…”
Kohga mumbled that last part, helping himself to another sip of tea. Realizing it didn’t seem to be very helpful, he sighed.
“Or, you could cook him something. Call me old fashioned, but my mama always said the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. I make mean salmon skin, look at the hunk I bagged.”
They both turned to look at Sooga, who was busy de shelling the fish alongside Sidon. Mipha pursed her little lips, before softly nodding.
“I...suppose that isn’t a bad idea at all. If I can find the courage in my heart to ask him.”
Just then, Kohga noticed Link walking alongside the princess. Small land, honestly. Kohga put his hands to the side of his face, crying out to Link.
“Yo Goldilocks! Mipha’s cookin’ tonight, you want in?!”
Link nodded, giving a thumbs up. Kohga shrugged.
“See? Easy. You just gotta be straightforward with boys.”
Mipha held her face in her hands, obviously embarrassed.
“But what do I do WHEN I make him something?! What do I say? What do I talk about with him?”
Kohga loved Mipha, really he did, but girl needed to stop seeing boys as a lynel, and more along the lines of wild horses. Something to tame, not to fear. He sighed.
“Tell you what. Me and Sooga will join you, sorta like a double date kinda deal. I’ll be there if the date goes bad, and we can dip when the date is going GOOD.”
Mipha looked up from the table with just the softest eyes you’ve ever seen.
“You...would do that, for me?”
“Course, lil red! You’re like, my favorite in the little team of goody two shoes. Plus, free eats, can’t complain-”
She suddenly got out of her seat, and nearly pounced on him for a hug. The things he did for love.
--------------------------------------------
“He here yet?”
“Not quite, but I’m just about done!”
Kohga came back a while later, alongside Sooga. Kohga had his own men helping her in the kitchen, setting up the dining room, everything she could need, Kohga helped with. Kohga scoffed as he put his gift on the dining room table (he’d be remiss if he didn’t bring something to drink for the occasion), lightly pulling up one of her fins, and scoffing.
“Okay, let the boys finish up. Sooga, get to work on this girl, she needs to focus on being as pretty as a fresh stack of banana pancakes.”
Sooga nodded, prompting Mipha to follow him to her bedroom. Kohga was about to see just what she was cooking, before the main doors flew open. Link. Aka, Goldilocks, aka, the guy that never fucking knocked. He was wearing the classic gerudo outfit. A real tits out look, and honestly Kohga would jump on that in a heartbeat.
“Goldilocks! Bit early! How you doing? Mipha will be ready in just a second, take a seat, lemme get you a drink!”
Link nodded. Kohga chatted him up for a minute, serving him a nice glass of banana wine (it’s actually VERY good). When he caught the eyes of Sooga, he pardoned himself and dipped into the hallway. He took one gander at Mipha, and gave a whistle.
“Girl look at YOU! Lookin’ prettier than a pack of opals!”
She really did look like a beauty. Freshly touched lipstick, sharpened nails, her silver jewelry replaced with gold, and instead of her usual blue sash, Sooga somehow managed to find time to make a blue, see through looking dress for her. It fit around her body snugly, but it was a loose, comfortable material, perfect for fashion, and function. Sooga was so talented, getting that together so quickly. Kohga nodded towards Link.
“Go keep him busy, gotta give this girl a pep talk.”
Sooga nodded. Once he left, Kohga carefully put his hands on her shoulders.
“Look at me. Lookin? Okay good. You like this guy, so be you. BUT, you need to let him know you’re interested. Be flirty. Touch his hands, compliment him, fucking, feed him from your plate- make it obvious. You’re a princess. He’s a knight, it’s GONNA happen.”
She nodded firmly, shoulder’s straight as a Lynel’s.
“I can do this!”
She peered over at Link, and immediately hid behind a wall again.
“I can’t do this! He’s wearing the voe armor!”
“For the love of…”
Kohga sighed. Why did he love all these shy bitches?
“Mipha. You’re gonna make HIM drool, not the other way around. Come on, you’ve got this. I’ll be right here, I’ll make you look good as hell. On three. One. Two. Three!”
He carefully pushed her towards the dining room, and Mipha looked ready to have a heart attack. Poor thing.
“Link! It’s so nice to have you over! I hope my invitation wasn’t sudden!”
Link shook his head. Kohga, sensing things were still awkward, jumped in. He was always the fun one at parties.
“Hey, you know what, we should totally start eating! I heard Mipha made quite the spread, Sooga why don’t you help bring the stuff out?”
Sooga nodded, heading into the kitchen. Kohga gestured for all of them to take a seat (with Mipha sitting right next to Link of course), and him just a bit away from them. Close enough to be supportive, but just far enough to beat it if he was cramping their style. Soon enough, trays of food were brought in, and even Kohga had to admit, he was starved.
“Master Kohga?”
“Yes, Sooga?”
“I’m sorry.”
He was about to ask what for, but then he saw it. Fish dish. Fish dish, not a single dish WASN’T fish. And he couldn’t just NOT eat her food, less he make Mipha’s food look awful. Kohga gulped, and Mipha seemed to catch onto his distress.
“Oh Kohga, I’m so sorry, I forgot you didn’t like fish! Please, let me make you-”
“Nope!”
Kohga could feel his ass sweating. He was really gonna sit here and eat fish, because Mipha deserved it. Link looked over at him, clearly just as confused as anyone else. Kohga forced himself to chuckle.
“I mean...I HATE clam chowder. A lot. It’s gross, it’s squishy, it smells AWFUL. Unless it’s Mipha’s. I LOVE Mipha’s clam chowder! She is just. SUCH  a good cook, I could eat a whole bowl!”
Link looked him right in his face, grabbed a bowl, and filled it completely with clam chowder. He slid the bowl over to him, and Kohga wanted to throw up. That yucky, smelly smell of fish.
“Son of a bitch..I mean, yum! Thank you, Link.”
Mipha just had to like this blonde asshole. Sooga made a motion to grab the bowl, but Kohga halted him. He was going to do this for Mipha. He took a taste of it, and he fought every urge not to puke. Dear god, the smell and the taste was awful. But he forced himself to swallow, smiling.
“See? I l-like it! So it’s GOTTA be good! Mipha is just, so talented!”
Link seemed satisfied, helping himself to a bowl. Mipha looked at Kohga, clearly worried, but he shook his head.
“Make it up to me by getting some, Mipha.”
He muttered underneath his breath, forcing himself to eat more. Sooga had no problems, this asshole, eating fish like it was nothing. Mipha pretended like she didn’t know anything was wrong, giving her attention towards Link.
“So, Link! You’ve been over at the Gerudo desert, I take it. Urbosa is doing well, I trust?”
Kohga didn’t pay attention to the one sided conversation, too focused on handling the thick creamy broth. His stomach churned, his head hurt, and he was just. Dying. Not even Sooga could help him. He was going to bail, but he saw it in Mipha’s eyes. She was getting more nervous, and this was JUST from watching Link eat. Oh god this was a mess. He forced himself to think past the creamy mush still left in his bowl.
“So, Link, what do you think of Mipha’s new look? Nice right?”
Link looked her up and down, before giving Mipha a thumbs up. Her cheeks exploded in color, and she looked ready to just melt. Kohga tried not to gag at the fish burp he just had.
“And Mipha, thoughts on Link’s outfit?”
Mipha hesitated, letting herself get a look at him, totally not looking at that titty (atta girl), before softly nodding.
“You had it dyed white, it looks very...nice, Link. It really goes with your golden hair.”
Distracted by her thoughts, she played with a strand of his hair, before suddenly realizing what she was doing. They both looked away, buried in blush, just two, dumb, flirty messes. Oh his girl was KILLING IT. Kohga forced himself to gulp down his bowl (somehow not choking on the chunks), nearly gasping as he finished. Oh that was a mistake. That did NOT feel right. Didn’t matter, Mipha was GETTING somewhere with this guy. He whispered to her, nudging at her side.
“Offer him some of your food.”
“But? He has the same thing in-”
“Say yours is different. Just do it, trust me. Sooga! With me, kitchen, now.”
They dipped into the kitchen, and Sooga immediately handed him a bucket. Just in time for Kohga to purge his guts. Sooga patted his back, sighing.
“No one told you to finish the bowl, Kohga.”
“I am SUPPORTIVE, dammit! She deserves-”
Yet another purge of his guts. He groaned, relying heavily on Sooga to keep him upright.
“If it makes you feel better, I’m VERY proud of you. Going through so much for the sake of her happiness. You’re a wonderful person.”
“Sooga, that’s sweet, but dear god I’m throwing up here, shut the fuck up.”
Kohga was three for three, and he was wondering if it was worth it. Then he peered into the dining room. Mipha was spoon feeding him from her bowl, going so far as to scold him for his messy face, and cleaning it with a cloth napkin. It was adorable, it was sweet, and dear god was this worth it. Sooga chuckled, peering down at Kohga.
“You’re incredible, Master Kohga, letting her have this.”
“I AM pretty great, aren’t I?”
They sat there, watching them. For a moment, for a brief, sweet moment, she wasn’t shy. She was honest with herself, she was even just a bit flirty. And Link looked as if he wasn’t clueless. It was so goddamn sweet, it was worth every second of stomach pain. Kinda.
“Oh it’s coming again- he better marry this girl, or I’m starting the war all the fuck over again.”
He was complaining, sure. But he was really, honestly proud of his little Mipha. He’d do this again and again, if it meant getting to see such a sweet, happy smile.
He just prayed he didn’t have to.

Here's a feels-inducing one for you! Sidon's reaction to finding out his s/o has caught an illness with a high death rate! :D
(I hope this one is feelsy enough to your liking my dear friend, I look forward to doing your next one~ Also I’m visiting relatives for a while so although I am on summer break they’ll probably be keeping me busy, I’ll try my best to submit as often as I can! Enjoy!~)
Can’t Let You Go
Word Count: 1847Warnings: Angst, fatal illness, illness symptoms, vomit mention, blood
It was a very difficult feat reducing the optimizing and headstrong Prince of the Zora to tears but when he saw you laid in bed looking as if one gust of wind could whisk you away, the tears flew so freely that one would think that he had been crying every second of his life. Only those closest to him knew that this was not the case. It was only moments like this that could make Sidon feel this way; make him feel like his entire world was crashing down on him.
Sidon had known that you were sick for a while now but it had only been a gentle cough and light fever, nothing serious. You had never whined or complained. Every time he offered to excuse himself from his work to say by you, you always told him that you didn’t want to keep the Prince from his Kingdom. You said it would pass in a few days. You said you’d be fine.
Now here you were, two weeks later, restricted almost completely to your bed, and barely able to keep your eyes open.
After the first week, Sidon couldn’t help but worry even though you insisted you were okay, he was certain that you were getting worse. The maids and healers that cared for you while he was caught up with meetings and paperwork would inform him of your condition. Telling him that your coughs were quickly becoming more aggressive, your fever remained ever present, your movements were slower and sluggish, and you could hardly eat the food brought to you and even when you did it was never for long.
It seemed like your entire day was comprised of laying in bed because your body was too weak to carry you anywhere else, trying to sleep, coughing, trying to eat meals, or puking into a basin. You were miserable even though you tried to hide it.
He couldn’t take it anymore.
So, at the advisement of the healers, he sent a letter to a Hylian doctor requesting their services. It did not take long for the doctor to arrive in the Kingdom after hearing about your symptoms and once he performed a careful examination he was able to give a full diagnosis. It was not a good one.
You had caught a virus common to Hylians during this time of year and, at first, Sidon felt relieved thinking that surely this meant a cure had been developed. His heart dropped when the doctor informed him that there was no cure and, to rub salt in his fresh wound, most of those who caught this nasty disease did not make it.
Sidon, shortly after learning this devastating news, put everything else aside so that he could ten to your needs much to your meek protest. He couldn’t bear to be away from you and nobody could blame him. The Zora remained firmly planted at your side, hardly sleeping or eating anything as he watched over you. He couldn’t look away from your pale face for even a moment; he was afraid that if he did that would be the last moment he saw you alive.
It only took one moment for the cruel hands of fate to steal all that was precious to im in life. They had stolen his mother. They had stolen Mipha. They could steal you too.
Over his dead body.
During the daytime, things were manageable. The maids brought in the meals and medicine prescribed by the doctor to help with your symptoms. It was difficult for you to enjoy even the simplest dishes prepared by the kitchen but Sidon always tried to get you to eat something, even if it was just a nibble. It took some negotiating to get you to take the medicine, however, because according to you it tasted like Bokoblin crap.
Regardless, in the end, it didn’t matter because barely an hour late later it was usually coming right back up with Sidon apologizing profusely for making you eat and you always apologized for subjecting him to this nastiness.
Aside from that, everything ran relatively smoothly with you spending most of your time trying to rest while occasionally asking him for water or a story to fill up the silence in the room. Sidon had no problem doing any of these for you; he would gladly do anything that made this whole ordeal easier for you.
At night, it was a completely different story.
At night, things became unbearable.
Your illness seemed to take sick pleasure in terrorizing you at night because every one of your symptoms became excruciating and Sidon could only watch and try to do all he could to ease our suffering.
The fever spiked and while the heat burning around your head caused you to break out in a terrible sweat, the rest of your body remained freezing cold to the Zora Prince’s touch and shivered like a leaf in a raging storm. Sidon watched as your chest shook violently from the coughing fits that progressed into hacking that then progressed into the spilling of the contents of your stomach; even when there was absolutely nothing inside of your poor stomach to spill your body showed you no mercy. You would convulse and quiver over the basin dry heaving so violently and would not stop until you were reduced to an empty husk of a person sprawled out on the bed.
It was horrifying for Sidon to watch, though he knew it was ten times worse to experience it.
Tonight, was no exception. In fact, it was the definition of torture.
Your body was being particularly ruthless and once again Sidon was practically powerless to do anything about it. His love, his sweet treasure, his everything was coughing so violently he feared they would cough up their lungs and all he could do was hold their hand and offer to get them some water even though you both knew that would not help. Still he had to do something, anything to help you. Without saying a word, your body suddenly jolted up and Sidon released his careful hold on your hand to look up at you immediately concerned by your abrupt action.
Sidon’s eyes scanned your form noticing how your body convulsed aggressively in response to the terrible fit you were currently enduring. Then just as abruptly as you stood up you stopped and then fell silent and he could see your body still shaking.
Quickly he moved to adjust his chair so that he could look at your face saying, “My love, are you alri-!” His golden eyes dilated in horror seeing the trail of crimson running down your chin and pooling into your quivering hand. His heart shattered to see that you were crying, soft sobs replacing the horrible hacking and making you look even more weak and fragile than before. You were attempting to try and catch all the blood in your hand as if ashamed and terrified by what just happened.
Sidon stood up so quickly that he knocked his chair back and it fell to the ground with such a loud clatter that he was certain he had woken the entire palace but he didn’t care. He raced to retrieve a towel and then bring it back to you carefully wiping the blood from your hand and then pressing the cloth to your mouth as you sobbed. “I-It hurts…” Your voice comes out hoarse from coughing and muffled by the cloth and Sidon can feel himself start to cry along with you.
“I know, I’m sorry,” His voice breaks and he almost can’t stand looking at you reduced to such a poor state. The tears pooling in his eyes blur his vision and his hand shakes slightly as he wipes at the corners of your mouth trying to hold himself together and put on a brave face for you. He must stay strong for you. He must stay strong. He must…
Gently laying you back down on the bed, Sidon just watches kneeling beside the bed not even bothering to recollect his chair as he lets the towel drop to the floor. “It hurts so much… I-I just want it to stop… I’m so tired…” You hiccup in between your gut-wrenching sobs your fists clinging so tightly to the bedsheets that Sidon can see your knuckles turn white. “S-Sidon make it stop…”
You’re begging for help; begging for Sidon’s help and it is only a reminder that he is completely powerless.
He wished with every bone in his body that the sickness ravaging your body was a monster, something that he could see and properly fight off to protect you. Something that he could kill so that you would be free from this agony. Unfortunately, that was only wishful thinking. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything but sit and watch as you withered away in front of him.
Sidon carefully climbed into the bed wrapping you up in the blankets and bedsheets like you are a young infant before laying you on his chest holding you close to him. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” He whispered over and over again letting you cry out all of that pain he knows that you’ve been trying to hold in for his sake while he tries his best to console you. This is the least he can do for you.
If this dastardly disease did manage to succeed in its horrid plan he wanted you to be at peace; he knew it was horrible to even admit that you could leave him but he could not ignore the fact that was entirely too real possibility. Any moment your tired body could potentially give out and you could breathe your last and he wouldn’t be able to stop it. All he could do now was comfort you, keep you happy, keep hoping that you would get through this together.
He would stay with you no matter what.
No matter what.
When the sun rose the next morning, the maids brought in the food as usual giving the Prince time to wake you and then detangle himself from your body so he could go back to his place at your side. He watched overjoyed as you ate a third of the meal – it took a while, and you refused to touch anything until he promised to eat something too – but you managed to get food in your system. You even took the medicine with no complaints and Sidon could not have felt more relieved when an hour later you didn’t need to turn to the basin so your body could reject it.
Watching you take what he could only assume to be the best nap you had taken in two weeks, Sidon finally let his worries wash away and he rest his head on the edge of the bed placing his hand over yours admiring your sleeping face. The answer to his prayers was finally laid out to him so he did not need to worry anymore.
He could see it written on your face flushed with the faint hue of your color returning to your face as you slept so peacefully. He could feel it in his heart, mind, body, and soul. He could hear it in the room as if Hylia herself was standing there clearing all of the misery that had been hanging over the two of you.
Things were going to be okay.

Oo what about sidon and partner star gazing 😍😍😍😍😍
(More or less a continuation of this one because I felt that such a cute little scene would fit very well with it~ Enjoy!~)
Starry Eyed
Word Count: 1489Warnings: Little bit of angst
Sidon never knew that Mikau Lake could be so beautiful; though, he figured that was most likely because he had you laying beside him.
After the initial shock of the surprise picnic, you told him how you had set up the entire thing with the approval of his father, confirming his suspicions. The picnic of his favorite foods, this special spot away from the Kingdom where they could be alone, clearing his schedule by making sure all his duties were taken care of for him. Everything for his sake.
Sidon was impressed, to say the least, and he made sure to tell you this and let you know how grateful he was that you would go through all of it for him, though in the back of his heart he could feel a pang of guilt when he reflected on all the work that you had to do just to spend the afternoon with him.
When the two of you had settled down on the picnic blanket, him still wearing the crown of flowers that you had placed upon his head and you absolutely glowing with the bright smile on your face, he felt that itching guilt writhing around inside of him watching as you pointed to the platters excitedly stating what each one was. You were so excited to finally spend time with him, a clear reminder to the Zora just how little time he got to spend with you.
So caught up in maintaining the Kingdom and his reputation as an heir worthy of rising to the throne, that he was too busy to focus on the other important thing in his life: you. He loved you, adored you; the very thought of you always brightened up his day and provided him solace whenever he was feeling overwhelmed by his responsibilities. However, more often than not, the pressure of those responsibilities forced you to the back of Sidon’s head and that thought fueled the guilt until the little flame was raging throughout his entire body making it hard for him to fully enjoy your shared afternoon.
Sidon could only hope that you didn’t notice. You did.
When the sun set and bright orange and ruby hues of the sky were replaced with the cool violet of night, you and Sidon remained planted at Mikau Lake now laying down on the ground with the soft blades of green grass providing partial protection from the hard earth. Sidon had an arm around your smaller frame, holding you close to him as your eyes scanned the darkening sky watching as the stars gradually began to flicker to life.
The Zora let out a soft sigh, content to just lay here in this peaceful silence with his lover resting beside him gazing up at the stars who returned their gaze with brief twinkles of their light. Sidon felt your body shift and he glanced down watching as you sat up so he did the same careful of the precious flower crown as he did so. He figured that you just wanted to get a better look at the stars but the way that your body fidgeted and tensed made the Prince rethink his verdict.
Before he could say anything about your behavior, your body moved and he smiled a little feeling you now leaning against him with your hand slipping between your bodies in search of his. Sidon chuckled fondly and then moved his hand to take hold of yours, smiling as he gave it a small squeeze.
“Sidon,” the sound of your voice almost immediately captures the attention of the Zora and he looks down at you, “Did you not like the surprise?”
“Of course I liked it!” His response is so quick that he notices your body jolt slightly, startled. “My love, what would make you think that I did not like it?”
You fidget again, shrugging your shoulders a little half-heartedly, as you say, “I don’t know, you’ve been kind of distracted this whole time. I thought that maybe you weren’t enjoying it; that maybe you would rather be doing your work-! Ow, Sidon.”
The Zora quickly loosened his grip on your hand with a flurry of apologies; he had been so caught off guard by your words that he hadn’t even noticed that he was gripping you tighter. Sidon had tried his hardest to suppress his guilty feelings but apparently that had only made it even more obvious. Now his feelings had ruined their evening and upset you which was exactly what he had been trying to avoid.
With a defeated sigh, Sidon looked down at you, meeting your worried and confused and felt his guilt give his heart a brutal kick that made him pull you into a hug. “I am so sorry, my treasure, I did not mean to spoil your time together but… I will admit that I have been distracted. Distracted by my own guilt, I’m afraid.” He pulled away and was met with a concerned look from you.
“Guilt? Sidon, I don’t understand. Why do you feel guilty?” Sidon turns his head but you squeeze his hand and say his name in such a way that he couldn’t ignore you if he wanted to.
What felt like the hundredth sigh that evening passed through the Zora’s lips and he turned to face you again before he responded, “I feel guilty… for not giving you the attention you deserve. I spend countless hours working and working to protect the kingdom that sometimes I rarely get to spend any time with you let alone see you and that’s just… just… unacceptable! You deserve so much more than that. I’m sorry.”
There is a long pause between two of you and the Zora is sure that he has stunned you into silence one that goes on for an almost unbearable amount of time. Sidon is just about to try and take back his words or laugh it off; anything to fill up this dreadful silence but you beat him to the punch in a much more physical manner. You suddenly leap up and tackle him, the force knocking him back down to the ground. On instinct, his arms flung around his lover to protect them, letting out a soft grunt when his back collided with the grassy dirt.
Before Sidon can even open his mouth to question your actions he feels your arms wrap around his neck clinging so tightly to him that he is worried that he might not be able to breathe properly. “Don’t! Do not apologize.” You suddenly state as you press your face into his chest and the Zora flinches holding you just a little tighter feeling a wet droplet hit his chest.
“My dearest… are you crying?”
“Yes!” You exclaim as you sit up and Sidon adjusts his head to look at you better when your hands cup his cheeks guiding his gaze. He can see the tears running down your cheeks and it makes his doubts clench his heart in a vice grip.
“Sidon,” Your voice goes soft as you lean close to him, “I don’t care that you get busy sometimes. I mean, I do care but I’m not upset at you for it. You’re a Prince for Hylia’s sake!” You laugh as you sit up and the Zora carefully reaches up to wipe your tears away finding them disturbingly out of place on your face.
“But still-!”
Sidon watches astonished as you grab his hand and push it away shooting a glare in his direction, however there is no anger in your piercing gaze, only determination. “But nothing! Sidon, I love you more than anything. You know this, and I know that you feel the same. That is enough for me.” The Zora is left speechless, not that he could really speak if he wanted to because the moment you stop talking you lean down and capture his lips.
He tenses in surprise, but the longer your lips are connected the more he relaxes until his hands are gently pressing you him deepening the kiss. It’s almost shocking how this one kiss can make Sidon completely forget about his worries as if this kiss was absorbing all the guilt in his body and replacing it with a heavenly bliss.
All too soon for Sidon, however, it ended and a pout formed on his lips when you laughed at what was probably a very longing look on his face. He brightens up when you smile and plant one more sweet kiss upon his lips appeasing him for now. “I love you Sidon. Regardless if you’re always with me,” you said as your hands removed themselves and then suddenly slapped his cheeks, not nearly hard enough to hurt, but it definitely got the Prince’s attention. “Don’t ever forget that, okay?”
“Okay, my love”
“Good, now let me fix your crown, my sweet prince. You’re going to crumple the flowers.”
