last song: Autocorrect - Kongos
favorite color: Obsessed with almost all shades of green; mulberry + peacock green + the texture of copper = simply mind blowing! @_@
currently watching: In general, I listen to audiobooks during my work. At the moment this is 'Blindsight' by Peter Watts.
last movie/tv show: The second season of "What We Do In The Shadows" series.
spicy/savory/sweet?: I absolutely love cooking and combining flavors. I cannot pick a single favorite %)
relationship status: I have a beloved - he saved my life several years ago. Unfortunately, due to the war, we became separated and our attempts to reunite and get married have failed for two years. I feel absolutely exhausted scared for him. In the face of this, I live alone far from home, and I don't have anyone to hug and talk to in real life. On top of that, I live alone far from home and I have no one to hug or talk to irl. I have failed to make new friends and I'm constantly working or falling ill due to severe stress.
current obsession: Obviously, the Kenways family and their surroundings :`D
Also I'm trying to organize the relocation of the "AskAssassinsCreed" art community to Tumblr, which is damn a lot of work, since we have a archival of the works starting from 2013. There's a lot of authors, characters, so I'm trying to establish contact with every artist, to sign up every piece of work. At the moment, this is proceeding slowly, as I have to finish my art commissions, I take way too much time to complete the due to my health issues T__T
Plus, I'm dreaming of finishing my animatics with Haytham and Shay. And maybe I may dare to show my OC, which I started writing at 2009, but I was too shy to show her. It seemed to me she could fit well in the AC3-Rogue setting, so maybe I'll manage to make some arts and comics with her.

I don’t know how exactly to start this post but they are a few songs from a musical that I like that I genuinely can’t stop thinking about in terms of animatics for certain characters from assassins creed. The songs are from the musical ‘The scarlet pimpernel’ and one of the songs is so perfect for AC as it’s literally called ‘Falcon in the dive’ (ik the symbolism in AC is mainly hawks but falcon is close enough for me) and I always imagine it being sung by Haytham Kenway. It’s just fits him so well!!! The other song is called ‘Where’s the girl?’ And I see it working well for Arno and Elise although the lyrics come across as a bit more sinister than I ever see Arno being. I also thought maybe ‘The Riddle’ could also work for Arno and Elise but there is a third vocalist/POV in that one and I don’t really find it fitting for any of the Unity cast.
On a different note, I can totally see the song ‘They’re only human’ from the death note musical working really really well for the Isu ancestors (Juno and Zeus in particular)!

haytham kenway for the character asks!
a song that reminds me of them: "allegro" from dvorak symphony no. 9 (new world symphony)
what they smell like: tobacco and cynicism
an otp: wretched husbands haytham kenway / shay cormac <3 i don't know that i ship them in like a conventionally romantic and/or sexual way, but i think they're both sexy morally-grey men who have seen way too much shit and maybe find some solace in their shared weariness with the world
a notp: i'm not here for kenwaycest
favorite platonic/familial relationships: i love how turbulent his relationship with connor is, how at odds they are with one another but are also both so stubborn and neither ever really back down from what they believe in. it's such a fun dynamic, i could watch their cutscenes a million times and never get tired. it's the mutual exasperation and all-too-relatable familial bickering for me!
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with: i don't know if this is a popular opinion at all, but i don't think haytham was ever truly in love with ziio. i certainly think he was punching way above his class when he was with her, but i just don't know that the guy is really capable of feeling romantic love. maybe he did convince himself that he was, but imo even if she didn't dump his ass for lying about braddock still being alive, there was never a long-term future there
the position they sleep in: on his back or on his side
a crossover au i’d love to see them in: 100% crack answer, but yellowjackets! i think it would be really funny if he (a) coached an all-girls soccer team from small-town new jersey and (b) got stranded with said team in the canadian rockies and they hunted and ate him for survival
my favorite outfit they’ve ever worn: his black fit with gold embroidery/embellishments from rogue!

Haytham: Tell them all I know now
Shout it from the roof tops
Write it on the sky line
All we had is gone now
Tell them I was happy
And my heart is broken
All my scars are open
Tell them what I hoped would be impossible
Impossible

(♪ more Templar jams ♪)
@the-eagle-of-understandingsend the music note and i’ll give y’all muse tunes!!Two notes, two tunes~. (plus a third cause I can) …okay maybe four.
Tumblr media
William Johnson - ♪             Calon Lan - Chessboxer && Passionflower - Jon Gomm
‘Weakness is not your weakness’ feels like such a William Johnson / older Order brother lyric to me, and Jon Gomm’s guitar is a vibe that just hits me as perfect. Also ‘Though your back is gently breaking / You reach for the light’ + that ask you just answered.
Chessboxer’s instrumental just feels very… him. XD In that way where it’s a Celtic type, but still Colonial feeling tune. Might be the banjo plus violin/fiddle. Though Calon Lan is originally a Welsh tune, I feel it still fits.
Tumblr media
Haytham Kenway - ♪            Not Tomorrow (slowed cover) - Liam Seagrave [original by Akira Yamaoka]
Honestly, this one is for post 1758 Haytham. He’s lost his father. His home. His lover. Discovered so many things were lies and yet still clings to the Father of Understanding because that is his only lifeline; one that he actually sees truth and purpose in. He’s killed Reginald, rescued Jennifer. Lost Holden. Lose, gain, lose, gain, lose–
Not tomorrow, sometimes tomorrow is too much. No more. No more, he can’t take it.              ( but he will. and he will move ever forward. because that’s who he is. )
Tumblr media
Shaun Hastings - ♪ - au; you nicked the wrong one mate. sorry. ( templar!shaun )           Dark Fur Elise by Lucas King
The piano is detuned, like a skewing recognition of what reality actually is. What you thought is not what is true, and yet- there may be a hint of regret. For truly, he does not want to hurt any of them- those he now could call in some respect, friends.
In our AU thread, he is shown- is made to understand. He already had his doubts about the assassins. About many things. He is unwound and shown just exactly what can truly be accomplished. The song he used to sing no longer the correct melody.

Death with Dignity
Inspired by the song of the same name by Sufjan Stevens. The meaning doesn’t exactly fit, but the song just makes me feel so many emotions. Inspired by this post!!  It’s really long, just a warning, and angsty. I love afterlife stuff and will probably do more for this, but I wanted to get this one out. Also, as a point of reference, Edward is the age he is in AC 4, Haytham: AC3, Ezio: Revelations, Connor: Post AC3 and Altair AC 1.
The buzzing stopped moments after it started, but Desmond’s body still feels like it’s vibrating. He remembers lights and a searing heat traveling up his arm, a loud booming sound, the buzzing and now this silence.
Are his eyes open? Yes, it’s just dark.
“H-hello?” he calls out into the black sea while walking forward.
Walking? He glances down to see his body in his usual garb, that’s a relief. Is this Heaven? Hell? Do Assassins go to a special in between?
Up ahead he spots a white light and makes his way towards it. The sound of footsteps fades in and the light seems to rush towards him. He shields himself, bringing his arms up as he’s engulfed by light and warmth.
Once again, he opens his eyes and is met with a garden. It looks familiar, a memory nags at the back of his head as he steps around the rows of crops towards a house on the other side of the field. He feels a sense of warmth bloom in his chest as he approaches.
The house is two stories built with some kind of light brown stones with an old wooden pergola attached to one side of the house. Desmond recognizes this style from Ezio’s memories. It hits him like a train and he stumbles into one of the support beams of the pergola.
“Easy there, mate,” a voice calls as a body flanks Desmond’s side.  He glances up into the blue eyes of a blond man and frowns. “God?” The man barks a laugh and pats his back hard. “Nah, I’m more like the devil ‘imself actually.” “Who are you then? Where the hell am I?” Desmond stands up and takes a step away from this man. He stares at him longer, watching as the man’s blue eyes grow soft looking at him. Realization dawns on him and he exhales. “You’re the pirate.” “Aye, I’m Edward Kenway, captain of the Jackdaw,” he puts out a hand. When Desmond takes it he pulls him in and wraps an arm around his neck with one arm and ruffles his hair with the other. “An’ you’re Desmond, ain’t ye? We’ve been waitin’ for ya!”
“Wait what?” Desmond takes a step back, his arms up as if to hold Edward in place. “I’m dead, right?”
“Aye, thas’ right,” Edward nods as if it should be obvious.
“Then where am I? What do you mean ‘we’?”
Waving his arm inwards, Edward grins at the boy. “Come on, you’ll see. Yes, you are dead, but you’re home now.”
“Home?”
There’s no reply as Desmond is brought around the house to an open courtyard with a large table set and full of food. Music plays from somewhere in the background and suddenly Desmond doesn’t feel so heavy anymore. The burning pain he felt moments ago, the buzzing he heard is all gone. It almost feels like the animus...
“Ah, Desmond,” a deep voice calls.
Desmond turns to see a younger than expected Haytham, maybe in his thirties at this point, dressed in Assassin’s attire despite his turnover later in life. For a second, Desmond feels bitter, after having been through Connor’s life; it’s a struggle to be able to face this Kenway. Haytham holds out his hand and offers a wry smile.
“I understand your emotions, but what’s done is done,” he reasons and then grins when Desmond accepts his hand. “We’re here now.”
“I’ll think about it,” the younger assassin shrugs his shoulder before turning to see another figure show up. This time he grins and sticks his hand out. “Ratonhnhaketon, it’s an honor.”
The Native American smiles at Desmond, his hair is longer and pull back out of his face. He looks much older than his twenties and is dressed in his traditional assassin’s robes. His girth is intimidating close up and Desmond fully understands why some Templars shrank away from him in the Animus.
“The honor is mine,” Connor shakes his hand then reaches up to grasp his shoulder and pull him closer to the table. “There are plenty of people here to meet you.”
“Oh?” Desmond feels himself relax and more figures begin to appear in the courtyard.
He recognizes some from the database, other people his ancestors knew, other assassin’s who have made their mark in the Brotherhood. Others he doesn’t, he never did read too much into the database, preferring to just use what was needed. Man, he wishes Shaun and Rebecca were here...
“Why the long face?” Connor pauses in his tracks when Desmond’s face crumples up a fraction.
“M-my friends... my dad...” he stammers and wipes at his face with the heel of his hand. “I did this to protect them a-and...”
“It’s alright, lad,” Edward comes up on Desmond’s left and offers him a pat on the back. “We all understand the sacrifices you put in and what ya lost along the way. It’s going to hurt for a while, it’ll get better.”
With a nod, Desmond shakes off the grief to make it through this strange party. Connor resumes in bringing him over when a tall, not taller than Connor, figure comes up. He recognizes the man and nearly falls to his knees.
Ezio Auditore dressed in the robes from his time in Masyaf, gazes at Desmond with a slight smile and bright eyes. The two gaze at each other, Desmond cannot fathom this moment. Having relieved this man’s memories for so long, dealing with his pain and his happiness, so much so he couldn’t tell himself apart from him makes this moment so surreal. Finally, the italian reaches up with both hands and grasps Desmond’s shoulders.
“For all those years I never understood that message, you were the one,” his voice is deep and it rattles Desmond. “It is nice to finally meet you, Desmond. Desmond, it’s you.”
“E-ezio...” Desmond is speechless and damn he hates himself for it. What kind of man is he? “Shit. I don’t know what to say.”
Ezio’s booming laughter fills the courtyard. “Come sit, we will find the words together.”
Ezio takes the spot across from Desmond with Connor sitting on the younger man’s left and Edward on his right. One by one the crowd takes a seat and Desmond watches as the table fits everyone comfortably as they converse with one another. He gazes at all the faces in awe.
“I’m not related to everyone here am I?” he wonders out loud.
“Not necessarily,” Ezio explains while piling some food on his plate. “These are all of those in and associated with the Brotherhood...”
“Federico? Claudia? Is that Petruccio?” Desmond feels his heart ache at the sight of Ezio’s family. He remembers the depression he went through trying to sift through Ezio’s grief that was messing with his head. The deaths of the Italian’s brothers and father haunted him for a long time.
Ezio grins as his family materializes on his left, Desmond’s right. They grin at him, all of them looking more mature than when he last saw them. Federico wasn’t frozen in his early twenties from his death. He’s grown into a man, strong jaw, five o’clock shadow and elegant hair. He’s supposed to be older than Ezio, but his appearance is that of a thirty year old.
Petruccio is in his twenties, he’s still got his boyish looks about him, but it’s charming. Obviously an Auditore with that smile and lean muscled build. He would have made a fine assassin had he lived.
Claudia had grown up in the Brotherhood, her eyes are sharp and focused. Her lips, even while curled into a smile is dangerous. She’s beautiful and dressed in a deep red dress with cream ribbons in her hair.
“I see the Auditore genes run strong in your family,” Ezio comments with a grin, eyeing Desmond’s beard.
The young man raises a brow. “I mean, I did get some girls in my time too.”
“Unfortunately, he is most like you, Brother,” Claudia snorts.
“Nonsense, he clearly looks like me,” another voice interrupts and Desmond whips his head up to see Altair standing there with Maria Thorpe at his side and their two sons behind them.
Everyone at the table greets the new arrivals with a slight bow of their heads and smiles. Desmond stands up, unable once again to find the words when faced with Altair. He’s gonna punch himself in the face for being this fucking stupid in front of his ancestors. Who is he? Shaun?
“Look at his face, Altair,” Ezio gestures to him. “Clearly me.”
“His eyes,” Altair gestures while grinning at Desmond. “Me.”
“You all look the same,” Connor butts in with a flat tone.
This diffuses the argument as laughter bursts around the entire table. Desmond takes a seat as Altair and his family fills in the spot on the other side of Ezio. Dinner commences then and while Desmond has a long path of grief to go along he can’t help but feel good being surrounded by all his ancestors. They’ve been through the war he just got out of, they’ve seen the horrors and felt the losses. He’s here with them now and he can only wait and see what comes next.

Disney Movies
A/N: I don’t have a good explanation for this. I truly don’t. Forgive me, it’s 3 am and I wrote this in a single day and I know I have soulmates and a few other requests and fics to tend to. I’m too inconstant. I’m a big kid, what can you do?
Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad
The Lion King! I’m sure Simba’s history and the talk about “who you are” would touch Altaïr’s apparently “cold and stoic” heart — but you know him well enough to tell apart the truth and what he tells others. He knows most of quotes and secretly memorized “The Circle of Life” accidentally, even though you could swear his favorite song was “Just Can’t Wait to Be King” — you found out when you woke up one morning and Altaïr was in the kitchen, brewing coffee and humming the song while he watched the steam rise up with a distant look. The movie has kinda turned into a comfort animation he turns to every once in a while just to keep the memory of the feeling he had when Simba climbed the rock and roared to claim his place as the king.
Ezio Auditore
Aladdin! What movie would be better fitting for Ezio than the history of a underdog who charms an upperclass girl — in this case, a princess — and they both fall in love? He has lots of feelings towards that movie, especially when it comes to the “hidden messages” in it about humility, love and friendship. The fact that Aladdin was his favorite Disney animation was never a secret, since he told you about that with a sheepish smile in one of your first dates and sang the chorus of “A Whole New World” just to prove a point. Ezio generally turns to that movie in cold and rainy days, when he can cuddle you and watch it together and play-sing his favorite song together.
Connor | Ratonhnhaké:ton
Brother Bear! Have you guys expected anything else? When he was younger, Connor decided that this was his favorite movie because he used to love bears — but came to adore it even more after he got old enough to understand how truly beautiful the movie is. As he matured, he could read through the lines and understand more about friendship, what it means to be family and love. Connor won’t admit it, but he can’t listen to “No Way Out” without feeling bad. It’s a movie that has a deep emotional connection to him, considering he lost his mother when still young, so when you are watching it together and it comes to the bit where Kenai tells the truth about Koda’s mother… You will see Connor flustered and tearing up because it’s too much.
Haytham Kenway
The Aristocats! Haytham is, clearly, a cat person. The narrative, despite being simple and “silly” in a certain way, was his first and favorite movie when he was a kid, so he holds it in a high regard. It took him some time to actually work it out and come to tell you which was his favorite movie and why. After some insistence he told you it was Aristocats because he “likes cats” — he’s a simple man, truly. Haytham will never come around to admit it, but he still knows some parts of the lyrics to “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” and if you stay for long enough around Edward, he’ll tell you about how flustered Haytham became when the butler tried to get rid of Duchess and her kitties. That’s when Haytham decided he’d never be taking you to any Kenway family dinners ever again.
Edward Kenway
Treasure Planet! Of course it would be treasure planet. Imagine how marveled Edward would be at the chance to sail into the space in a ship. He can relate in a certain way to the young Jim, with everyone trying to tell him what to do and how he should behave — ever since a young age, Edward knew he was having none of that. The sense of adventure he shares with the character when they’re looking for the spaceship, the eager gasp and look he gave the TV when the map opened up to lead the way to the treasure and, more importantly, when Jim solved the puzzle to where the treasure was hidden. When Edward matured, he could see the movie was more about camaraderie, long lasting friendships and a spark of a thing he couldn’t quite pin down; but he never let go of that movie.
Arno Dorian
The Beauty and The Beast! The story of a beautiful and king girl who ends up falling in love with a monster? Sign Arno the fuck up. Let’s not forget that the movie is also an old French tale, so Arno has been familiar with it his whole life. For him, it’s the way that Belle ends up understanding the Beast, seeing how he can be good despite frightening and the ill-tempered behavior. Arno has a romantic soul, so nothing better than a movie about the power of love, lessons about humility and kindness and, above all, a beautiful ending where the main characters stay together. Arno actually knows how to sing the main song, although he does it in French. If you want to see Arno melt and blush, just kiss his face during the ball scene between Belle and the prince. He has a soft spot for love stories.
Evie Frye
Mulan! Evie simply adores Mulan. It has been her favorite movie since forever, always competing with Jacob about what they’d watch — of course, she’d always pick the movies first. Even from a young age, Evie could understand the lessons about determination and courage that the movie passed, which is why she chose Mulan to be the movie she would love forever. There isn’t a particular song that Evie loves about the movie, but the bit that gets to her is when Mulan saves the Chinese Emperor. That’s when she decided that no one could tell her what or what not to do. After all, if Mulan could save an Empire, she could very well do the same or more.
Jacob Frye
Peter Pan! London? Flying away to a distant land with fairies and other kids who fight against pirates and never grow up? Please. Peter Pan was made for Jacob. He’d wait all day and even endure the silly movies Evie would put him through — he watched Mulan so many times that “Make a Man Out of You” was engraved into his brain. Since Evie was always around and a unending source of comfort when their father was away, he came to understand Wendy’s position about her siblings quite early — he would never forgive their father if he forced Evie and him to share separated rooms when younger, although his position changed with time. Jacob loved Peter Pan so much he longed for the day when his chance would appear, often leaving the bedroom window open, even during winter. You probably would come to find out this was Jacob’s favorite movie when Evie teased him about that and he blushed deeply at her, eyes widening and, believe it or not, words dying in his throat.
Desmond Miles
Hercules! Thinking about it, Hercules and Desmond share quite a lot of things — starting with: none of them actually asked for this. Ever since early, Desmond came to adore Hercules — he even managed to convince William to buy him a Pegasus plush at some point, a memory he left behind in his bedroom, much to his regret. With no reason at all, his favorite song ever was “I Won’t Say I’m in Love”, even though he can never remember the whole lyrics but the chorus. Desmond has probably asked you to watch Hercules more than a few times, just he could show how exactly how deeply he knew the quotes of the movie. In a very young age, Desmond came to understand about honor, nobility and the importance of choosing your own way, which eventually led him to bolt.

HAYTHAM KENWAY >> Assassins’ Creed III
“I am an expert swordsman. And I am skilled in the business of death. I take no pleasure in my skill. Simply, I am good at it.” -Haytham Kenway, AC Forsaken
Leaves are dead, but I am here | You held it like a mirror, showing me the life I chose | I go to war for peace | No other faith is light enough for this place | You only give what you get | I want you to see things clearly | Do not weep, do not wail, I am coming home to you | I have been wrong, I have been right | Through the fire, through the flames
SHAY CORMAC PLAYLIST
For Haytham’s playlist I went mostly divergent away from the harder indie rock that I previously used for Shay. While Haytham is deadly, Haytham’s story is a little softer, so it fits him more to include some soft indie. Additionally, I am using this playlist to convey Haytham’s entire life, compared to Shay’s playlist which mostly focused on his actions. This playlist includes Haytham’s thoughts of his path, perhaps his regrets. Outwardly, he shows no regrets, nothing more than devotion to his and the Templar’s cause. Inwardly, he surely wonders what his life would’ve been like if his father lived, if he stayed with Ziio, etc. However, he owns his choices fully. His song choices do have some “active” songs such as “April Fool” and “Pay the Man”. Songs that are self-reflective include: “Run or Hide” and “If I Be Wrong”. Haytham and Ziio include “Dear Fellow Traveler” and “Three Rings”. Haytham’s actions include “Thus Always to Tyrants” and “Ya Hey”. This entire playlist takes one on a journey through Haytham’s life, desires, fears, beliefs, and ultimate end.
Enjoy!
