intro? Shocking.

I don’t to introductions, but here’s a few things I’m into and some surface level tomfoolery.

I like writing and drawing, but I don’t have the will to post anything.

Birthday is in October, aka, the best month because Halloween.

There is a 89% chance I am working tomorrow. And a 50% chance I’ll be working for 6 hours!

I am delusional about the things I am interested in; clearly.

Something something thinking about how the western genre has kind of immutable common themes etc also how indigenous and settler lens of westerns change those themes

#theo rambles #like. not completely divorced?#they still in having a distinctly melancholic and lonely core #both are focused on violence civilization and loss #where the violence in westerns is foundational for trauma Indigenous ppl are still feeling now #the settler lens glorifies the violence.#and while settlers in westerns are losing their way of life to encroaching civilization #indigenous ppl are losing their civilization to ever encroaching settler violence #both losing a way of life?#i think the western genre is built around the concept of ‘the old way of life being pushed out to make room for ‘civilization’ (settler soc-#-iety)’ and railing against that change #but the modern western genre didnt sprout off until the mid 1900s. we already knew the end of the story by the time we started writing about #cowboys and indians and civilization.#and that knowledge of what lies at the end of the story weighs heavy over the genre #so matter the outcome of the western? it will always *feel* fruitless #(side note: I think this is one of the reasons why rdr2 was such a good follow up to the original game! we know where johns story ends-#-just like how we know how the story of the west ends. end tangent dhfjf)
