there's something about Roman's theme playing in the background of a meal fit for a king. something something about logan's legacy unraveling even just for a night. something here I do not have the brain power to pick apart but trust I will be back
btw if i havent previously made this clear: some of my least favorite fandom ppl ever are eldest daughters whose favorite spn character is dean and eldest daughters whose favorite succ character is kendall
like you of all people should fucking know better you goofballs
Also the more I watch it the more I can see the hand flip from Tom in the car as an actual gesture, a recognition of “I see what you did for me here. If you want in, if you were serious earlier, I can consider it.”
The way his facial expression doesn’t change, he doesn’t smirk or anything when she puts her hand on his like I would have expected if he was demanding fealty. It’s just a recognition of where they are.
succession fans when they talk about how evil and twisted every character on this show is and then defend... shiv? The cheating narcissist manipulator liar running her own scheme this whole time? Acting like she is an ardent defender of democracy especially in this episode when shes lying to her siblings and playing both sides the whole time?? i dont know its not screaming #girlboss to me but ok.
the problem with people pleasers is that they think they're doing their loved one's a favour by never saying something's bothering them, but really they hoard their dissatisfaction and anger until they become obnoxiously passive-aggresive. Tom never really told Shiv about all the things that bother him; her cheating, children, and generally him feeling unsafe and unloved in the relationship. Shiv's no innocent either because he did try to bring those subjects up and she shut him down. He wore his disappointment on his face but she ignored it because it would've forced her to face the fact she and Tom are no match. But Tom hoarded his anger until it turned into hate and he made the most painful betrayal in the show. A betrayal which makes sense but is still a punishment that doesn't fit the crime, in my opinion.
all the boys holding her hands...."shivvy, honey"..."why didn't you come get me?"...."dad....daddy?".....the way she dissolved into trembling and incoherent shrieks after the call...her crumpling into roman's arms...maybe i'm a baby shiv truther after all
