She's really finally getting that no one's on her side. She lost Sabrina. Whatever, she's just a lackey. She lost Adrien. Ouch, but like, he'll crawl back to when he figures out how miserable he is without her! She's lost a couple of groupies like Alya and Nadja but who cares about them? They're just jealous.

And then Adrien started dating her rival. And she had no role in the Clara Nightingale music video, as a hero or as her rich popular influential self. Paris isn't fawning the way it used to. Things are looking a bit rocky for Chloe...

But then, like a light in the dark, her mother returns to Paris for the first time in years. And she brought a sister. Just a half-of-a-sister, but a sister: someone almost on her level, someone who on the surface shares her values, someone with a built in reason to love Chloe. Sure there was a little hiccup where Zoe didn't understand Scarlet Lady's worth, but as the big sister it's her role to properly educate Zoe so such faux pas don't happen again. Yes, Chloe is truly generous and wonderful and all she needs is her family, not any of these lesser beings outside her sphere who don't understand her.

Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn't. Chloe's calling Zoe by her name by "Style Queen" and Zoekins by "Queen Wasp". They're wearing matching jumpsuits, matching bracelets. Chloe wanted this connection.

Chloe believed, incorrectly, that all the praise and admiration that Scarlet Lady got was deserved, was earned, and was proof that Paris really loved her. And it turns out, just like how she believed Zoe was like her and on her side...

She was wrong.

Ngl, I always love how sweet(?) Chloe is when she first interacts with Zoe? Like she’s excited to have a sister and is teaching her stuff, ignoring that it’s not good teachings. But like, she could’ve immediately shrugged her off and been rude to her since their first meeting.

I thinks it’s kinda sweet that she considers Zoe to be an (almost) equal at first.

Chloe seemed pretty neutral to Zoe when meeting her in "Sole Crusher", so I just kept it to that vibe until I had Zoe accidentally say the things that would make Chloe especially happy (not knowing who Marigold is and comparing her to their mother).

And realistically, despite how delusional she is about it, Chloe's got to be feeling pretty lonely right about now.

If you were going for a more serious/tragic tone, what would Chloe’s dream be?

For Chloe specifically, since the show decided the normie and the heros will have different fears for some reason, it would probably be her room being stormed with the S.W.A.T. unit forcing her out of her room because her dad has lost his job as major, his home is being foreclosed on, and she's finally being convicted of her "crimes" and forced to go through a heavily embellished trial where the public can boo her and she can't defend herself.

Curious why Scarlet is so incompetent unlike canon Queen Bee who fought pretty well?

Queen Bee had Ladybug to look up to and emulate, as seen as early as Lady Wifi. Practicing in her room, trying out the yoyo on her own time, and dreaming about being a hero next to Ladybug motivated her to do her best, at least on the combat side of things.

Scarlet Lady had no mentor, no role model, and no desire to look for one. People praise her because she has the ladybug's power to reverse damage, she's convinced herself she doesn't NEED to improve. So she sucks.

What is the relationship between Marinette and Pollen, Adrien and Plagg and Chloe and Tikki

Marinette adores Pollen and treats her mostly like a friend and sometimes like a precious pet(?) I can't think of another way to describe it, like, not like a pet as in a dumb animal to take care of but like how you become devoted to your cat or dog and pamper them a little excessively. She's a Bee Mom now.

Pollen thinks the sun shines out of Marinette's face. She thinks highly of most all of her holders regardless of how they use the bee, so Marinette being respectful and justice oriented and creative and willing to listen to Pollen and willing to DOTE on Pollen makes her like level 9000 peak holder. It makes Pollen want to be selfish and hold onto her.

Adrien and Plagg are basically bros. Brothers? Like how you get on each other's nerves but you love each other (and younger Bro Adrien looks up to Plagg a bit for being so "I do what I want"). Adrien wants Plagg's attention and affection even though it's usually irritating, like sharing his cheese or using his hair as a cat bed, but he secretly loves it. It's also nice to have someone constantly next to him willing to throw shade back and forth, not treating him like a tool or hot commodity.

Plagg is so not used to someone as SENSITIVE as Adrien, but while he's bringing out some of Adrien's snark, Adrien's bringing out some of Plagg's softness. I mean, c'mon, he SANG for Adrien, if that's not LOVE-

Chloe and Tikki are basically sisters. Like how you're forced to live together but you have nothing in common but you can't escape each other because you share a room. And Chloe is not having Big Sis Tikki's unsolicited advice. If Chloe didn't need Tikki, she'd probably be locked in a glass case or something or thrown out on the street (which at this point Tikki might prefer).

Poor Tikki is just trying to stop Chloe from ruining everything but it's like Chloe's DETERMINED or something. Dammit, if she didn't have this Older Sibling Obligation to try and make things go smoothly, she'd be so OUT of here. Chloe might be the most difficult holder she's ever had - even if she was stuck with someone like Hawkmoth, at least she'd know where she stood, but being with Chloe is like some weird mid point limbo of "are we doing good? I THINK this is good, but it feels bad."

Sorry if you already answered this, but I was just curious... in your scarlet lady au, is Chloé aware that Marinette was supposed to get the ladybug miraculous? She stole the earings from Marinette's bag, and Tikki said Marinette's name when she first appeared, but did Chloe ever really connect those dots?

She put the dots together for all of 5 minutes before rewriting history in her head and deciding she was always destined for the earrings.

What's your opinion on how the Miraculous Cure should work in the au? Could it really bring people back or does it follow canon logic? (which seems kind of forced with the New York Special from what I've heard)

It kinda has to otherwise all the victims of akumas would be toast by now. So long as a death is a direct result of an akuma, I’m pretty confident the cure would reverse it. (not that the show has shown any death but c’mon. Not everyone in Syren made it to a roof top and Timebreaker and Gamer deleted people from existence. I count that as a “death”).

Curious, will Chloe try to get Luka's attention too and be dense by thinking that he 'likes' her like she does with Adrien or it's just a passing flame?

As Luka shows up more (and he will, same as Kagami), Chloe will have additional attempts to get his attention, though she’s in the same mind as with Adrien in that she has already convinced herself that he has a thing for her based on absolutely zero evidence.

However, rather than her actually “liking” Luka, it’s more that she has a shallow appreciation of him (ie thinks he’s cute) and wants his attention same as she wants everyone’s attention. After all, it’s an ego boost when a “cute” guy is into you.

Despite Chloe’s “love” for Adrien, she’s proven since Season 1 that she’s not against shopping around (ex: Her trying to get Prince Ali to be into her). She comes across as the kind of person who just wants to be pursued and she definitely wants Luka to pursue her even though she ultimately wants Adrien.
