the inbox and i were brainstorming a skk-batman crossover over on main so i started doodling out some ideas

chuuya leaves Yokohama shortly after the Dragon's Head crisis and for plot convenience ends up in Gotham city. He's gotten a little tired of mafia life and losing people he cares about. Unfortunately moving to Crime Central, USA is not the smartest choice for living a peaceful life

he manages to get a job at the local ritzy nightclub, the Iceberg Lounge because he's dead broke and it's easier to get into the seedy Gotham underbelly than stay out of it . somehow he manages to get into Penguin's good graces and starts learning a lot about Gotham's villains just by listening in a lot.

So turns out Gotham criminals are a special brand of freaks and Chuuya doesn't like them!! Time to go vigilante mode!!! By Night he works as a bartender for the villains, By even later at night he works against the villains, By day he sleeps lol

(i haven't thought up a design yet but we'll get there. My life's goal is to put chuuya in a domino mask)

He gets onto the Batman's radar and WILL be having run-ins with the team. (maybe befriending Batgirl and Robin??)

Chuuya can't speak English well so a lot of things are a work in progress for him

DAZAI WILL SHOW UP SOON. He'll find his boyfriend, but chuuya's gotta settle down in Gotham for a little before that happens

Hmm rotating my skk batman crossover in my head a bit. If chuuya wants a solid chance at playing vigilante in gotham he's going to NEED to eventually get in on the bat's resources considering that a lot of the rogues like to play with toxins and bioweapons. Like he wont be able to punch his way through Scarecrow's fear gas.. chuuya on fear gas would be the worst thing possible.

for gotham chuuya’s design it might be cute to kind of combine his og outfit and his 16 year old outfit - dazai & chuuya’s designs are meant to complement each other tho so if you have any ideas for dazai you could riff off of them for chuuya

HMM! i got a lot of suggestions to go a sort of.. Tuxedo Mask/Magic Kaito direction, I think that would definitely be pretty fun! I don't think there should be much of a focus on tactical sorts of things like armor. maybe just some sturdy shoes and a utility belt in terms of practical gear.

the one thing I know with certainty is that i want him to wear a domino mask !!!!

At first i was considering going the leather jacket + something else route that resembled his Dragon's Head outfit but it thought it would look too derivative of like.. Red Hood or Harper Row.. (not that they are particularly relevant). Frankly the leather jacket vigilante look is a little too... *boring* for Gotham. He could get away with it if he was operating in Yokohama but not in the great ol' usa haha.

chuuya doesn't currently have his hat but maybe he can find a replacement for the time being. i got a suggestion to give him goggles? he might not wear it tho lol

ayo according to my new mental skk in gotham timeline, Tim would be in the 15-16 range, Cass i think is 17 to 18. Chuuya and Dazai are 16. i'm just saying that hypothetically they should become a friend group

hahahhaahahaha dazai trying to learn how to use a grappling hook. gotham au is driving me insane.

15/16 year old Tim meets Chuuya and is just like “I didn’t know they made men that beautiful wtf” while Dazai is hissing like a cat in the background

see my issue is that i can get behind any tim drake ship. i'm a big supporter of tim drake x love. I also think that chuuya is simply love shaped and boyfriend material. therefore my brain just 5 minutes ago suddenly decided "hey wouldn't it be funny if--"

I however think that chuuya is actively never looking for a relationship, and only ever stumble into one on accident. so. Dazai being jealous on Tim's mostly one-sided crush on chuuya would be very funny to me. Like don't worry buddy, ur boy isn't gonna be stolen by a kid in green tights.

YEAH THATS MEE TOO, Batman is one of my all time no.1 BIGGEST hyperfixations. I've been obsessed with B:TAS and Lego Batman since i was a kid i got into the actual comics in middle school i was in the trenches during lockdown i was around for freaking URBAN LEGENDS #6 i sorta fell off around last year bc ... well i dont really KNOW WHY some other things consumed my mind.

But BSD has been my number one since.. like a year ago last October when i began it!!!! I lOVE crossovers smmm. Do you guys know i have a ninjago-evangelion crossover au too?? If you go through carrotkicks 'ninjagelion au' tag you might have fun heheheh.

ANYWAYS i love chuuya. I love Batman. I think chuuya would make an awesome vigilante hehe. Dazai will also get a chance in the less traumatizing place in the dark when he pulls up to Gotham a couple months later. It'll be a lot different from Yokohama too so my boys will be wayy out of their depth. For one, the villains in Gotham aren't abiilty users, they're like mutants, so their supernatural/ scifi attacks will actually be a threat to Dazai. He'll need to get a little tougher ;) Chuuya on the other hand is going to have to start leaening how to manage a double life and be more strategic (in a different way) He's got calamity powers locked in him and the rogues have paychological warfare on their side right? So how will he learn to face that?

See i'm envisioning this crossover happens sometime after dragon's head, fresh off the boat of another trauma for chuuya y'know. So he takes a (hopefully permanent) sabbatical in the worst city in america to tend to his aching heart or whatever. Dazai is worried of course but he lets it happen. Until it lasts too long and Dazai realizes that 'oh Chuuya's not coming back. i can't accept that.' and he manages to find him (maybe thanks to a certain android friend who has the gps coordinates of a NOT subdermal tracker.) Dazai's original plan is to bring him back to the Port Mafia but maybe Dazai's goals start to reorient to bring him back to Yokohama and see what happens next.
