Dear Jnv11,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: I think this is more like an error from the wiki itself, which does happen from time to time.
Tumblr media
Simon Keyes did keep track of Dogen and Knightly by translating their letters and correspondence chess from Knightly’s writing to brail and vice versa. So no, he was not playing correspondence chess with either one of them. He was translating the letters and delivering it to them. They might’ve made the mistake of believing they were playing with Simon Keyes, but I don’t remember if they’ve ever mentioned it. As far as I know, the game never states that Simon Keyes had ever played correspondence chess.
It’s also different from playing physical chess and Simon Keyes is in his sweet facade mode, so take that how you will.

Dear Tropetaker,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Yeah, it is a shame. Though, I am glad Gina’s mentor ended up being Gregson. We get so many terrible mentors and not enough good ones like Mia Fey.
Tumblr media
Dear Miraz van Nohrr,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Until recently, we couldn’t see any email addresses. If they send ten letters in the span of three minutes, it’s a clear sign it’s from them. There’s also their unique way of writing letters. Not a foolproof way of knowing it’s the same person, but those are just some of the ways we know.
Tumblr media
Now, that we can see email addresses again, it should be easier. Though, it is possible to change the email to make it look like it’s from someone else. It all comes down to the times and minutes each letter is sent.
Mod Franziska: I can kind of tell from their typing style but also when I’m checking letters. If I just see “anonymous” like 10 times then yeah I can tell clearly.
Tumblr media

Dear Inferno,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: It’s okay. Just remember to specify the date the letter takes place in. I sometimes make this mistake when I write letters too.
Tumblr media
Dear Dawsongfg,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Well, there’s one out of a few things we agree on. Not that it earns a gold star or anything. It just goes without saying.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: It’s mostly our interpretation of the characters. We go based on what’s told to us by the other characters and so on. It also helps I have a fan fiction where Cindy Stone is an important character.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: One word: NO. Not my thing.
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Alright, so if I was babysitting my neighbor’s daughter from age 10 to age 12 at age 21, then separated seven years later to meet her again at age 18 and decided to date her, that’s completely fine? That, in no way shape or form, would make anyone question if I was a MAP or pedophile?
Let me repeat, a girl I knew from age 10 to age 12, whom I would ONLY know her from that small age, I can fall in love with and date seven years later without anyone batting an eye? This girl, age 18, would still see me as the same person that babysat her at a young age, still looks to me like the babysitter, and dating her would not in any way seem disturbing? Do you have any idea what you are saying?
Tumblr media
Maybe I’m thinking too much, but when my dad met the girl he babysat as a small child decades later, he was freaking out because of how much she grew. The same happens to me. Someone I’ve known as a small child grows up to an adult and it surprises me of how much they’ve grown. Even with the years that have passed, you still see that person as a small child. It’s almost impossible to peer with them at that point. Even Blackquill said so himself that Athena was his mentor’s treasure and Athena constantly tells him not to treat her as a child. What does that tell you? I know it tells me that Blackquill still sees Athena as the small child he looked after for his mentor.
But hey, if you wish to ship them, then do so to your heart’s content. Personally, I’d like to not touch any ships that have any hint of shipping a child with an adult. Using the “oh they’ve been separated for X amount of years” argument feels no different from the “they’re not related, so it’s not incest to ship step-siblings” argument, which is still incest. Please tell me with a straight face that you would totally date the kid you babysat for two years seven years ago, who is now 18.
Again, Kazuma and Barok were ADULTS when they first met. Barok’s brain isn’t going to see Kazuma as a child because Barok didn’t know him as a child. It works in reverse where half the time you forget that this person was a minor ten years ago because you only know them as an adult.
Mod Franziska: Here’s my take on this: lets not ship stuff that is clearly considered pedophilia or incest.
Tumblr media
Dear Dawsongfg,
Chief Mod Edgeworth:
Tumblr media
Hm? Sorry, I was mostly skimming through this letter. What were we talking about again?
Mod Franziska: What should I even say to this?
Tumblr media
Dear dawsongfg,
Mod Justice:

Tumblr media
OH, “LEGO City Undercover”! Okay. Alright.
Tumblr media
Sorry about brain-farting there...
(You really gotta do better than that, Mod Justice...)
Tumblr media
Anyway, yeah. I remember that scene. Although, my favorite isn’t that one or its remake; rather, it’s the one from the 3DS prequel that came out a little later.
Tumblr media
Here’s a playthrough, if anyone’s interested!
Tumblr media

Chief Mod Edgeworth: No, it’s not. We are remembering those that have given their lives to defend America or loved ones that have passed away. Why shouldn’t we be happy to remember those that have passed away? Are you implying that because they’re dead, we shouldn’t be happy at all? To that, I give you this.
(Warning: Language and vulgar gesture)

(Previous Letter)
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Erm... about that. That was Mod Justice that photoshopped the letter to make it look like that. All I did was answer it. It’s much easier to read on the app so I’d try going on your phone to read it. Apologies.
Mod Franziska: We cant really do anything about the quality of the letters we get sent bro.
Mod Justice:
Tumblr media
Yeeeeaaaahhhhh... Sorry about that, guys.
Tumblr media
Dear Blueballoontaco,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Of course. Thank you for your compliment.
Mod Justice: And an additional thanks for your support!
Tumblr media
Dear Dawsongfg,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: No. Not my thing.
Mod Justice: Aw... I feel you would enjoy it. I mean, it had franchises like Doctor Who and The Goonies while it lasted!
Chief Mod Edgeworth: I’ve already played LEGO Batman and LEGO Star Wars with my younger siblings and... not my thing. I’ve only watched The LEGO Movie and LEGO Batman Movie.

Dear Sinyove,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: From what I understand from what limited video clips of the characters saying the name of Khura’in and Kurain, it does seem as if both are pronounced differently. Take it as you will.

Tumblr media
Dear Miraz van Nohrr,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Thank you for your kind words.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the moment that letter is seen, it will get deleted, because it does break the rules of breaking canon. Phoenix Wright intended to never tell Trucy or Apollo about their origins on behalf of Thalassia and she feels unready to tell them at the moment. Every letter that has ever toed the line would always result in neither Apollo nor Trucy knowing or else deciding to research themselves outside of the letters. So, until AA brings us a game where Phoenix or Thalassia intends on telling Apollo and/or Trucy, neither will ever know on this blog. Even Thalassia and Phoenix talking about revealing this to Apollo and Trucy at the end of the post-credit scene in Spirit of Justice doesn’t count.
That being said, you could do a letter like that for one other person without breaking canon: Iris Wilson. When Yujin Mikotoba revealed the truth of Iris’ origins to Ryunosuke, Susato, Barok and Kazuma, there was a pause before Iris began talking on the talkie. It’s also proven in canon that Iris has a tendency to eavesdrop and there were subtle hints that Iris already knew after that reveal, unlike with Apollo and Trucy.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: I think they’re a person that likes to make funny letters for the characters’ reactions.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: It doesn’t matter to me, but there is something to admire about 2D with all the work that goes into it. That being said, 3D can be admired, if work goes into it. I once said that if AA was going to do 3D, then they should take a page from PLvsPW’s playbook on how to do it. It seems they did when The Great Ace Attorney came. The animation was clean, it took advantage of its surroundings. Much of the gameplay felt familiar to PLvsPW, especially cross-examining multiple witnesses and questioning one that you’re not talking to.
Tumblr media
If AA was to do another game, I’d like to see them bring back the Jury idea, but take a page from The Great Ace Attorney in how to do it. My issue with how it was done in Apollo Justice was that there was no interaction or threat of the Jurors choosing Guilty or Not Guilty. They were ultimately in Phoenix’s favor. I like that the Jurors were not on Ryunosuke’s side and could even be racist jackasses to him sometimes. He had to talk with them and use their words against them, only submitting evidence when asked. I’d like to see Phoenix, Athena and Apollo go through something like that if Capcom was to make a new 3D AA game.
Modshoe: I love them both :D. Though, when I first saw playthroughs of DD, I wasn’t a fan of the 3D style. I just finished the first four games so I was biased towards the 2D style. But eventually, I grew to love the 3D style just as much as the 2D :).
Mod Justice: Don’t care about graphics or gameplay - I only care about good storytelling when it comes to Ace Attorney (and pretty much every video game ever to exist).
If a game has a good story, then graphics and gameplay are secondary. Don’t like me for having this opinion? Three words: SUCK IT UP.
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: You and I both. I was on the fence about that one for a moment.
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: That’s the problem. The letters used to show the emails of anonymous letters, but now they don’t. It’s a pain. As if Tumblr hasn’t given us enough trouble as it is.
Tumblr media
Dear Dawsongfg,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Have never played half those games, so I can’t say.
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Chief Mod Edgeworth: If you think this is ridiculous, you haven’t played The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, the second one specifically. Speaking of evidence.
Tumblr media
This means that Franziska von Karma is of Japanese descent. Whether it is full or part is up to the fans to decide. I’ve just decided to go for full Japanese. The same goes for Phoenix Wright. It isn’t out of the realm of possibilities for this to be canon and, as far as I know, they’re the only characters that are accepted to be full Japanese in this blog. Maya and Athena have only claimed to be part Japanese since both have adopted Japanese religion/culture in some form. You don’t have to share the same headcanons, but this isn’t ridiculous for Ace Attorney.
Tumblr media
Personally, I find it more unrealistic for the game to take place in the United States, yet somehow require all attorneys to wear badges, one of them representing the rising sun on the Japanese flag. At this point, I can see why some headcanons include Japan winning WW2. Until The Great Ace Attorney came around, it was easy to go along with Phoenix Wright and Franziska von Karma being American/German, but now it’s also canon that Ryunosuke Naruhodo is the ancestor of Phoenix Wright and Manfred/Franziska von Karma haven an ancestor that took the Karuma name as a surname. This blog will accept canon as it comes and will be flexible with any new information. If this means making everyone Japanese, then so be it.
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Anonymous,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Also, do note, even then the Judge thought that Phoenix didn’t act like himself and Tigre didn’t call himself “Overly dramatic Phoenix Wright.” He called himself “Phoenix Wright.” Maybe if the letter was from “Phoenix Wright,” the Judge could’ve fallen for it.
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Fart Smella,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: I only correct letters, if I made a miscorrection, but this is not the case. Please tell me where in the letter does it specify WHEN Ryunosuke receives the letter or is being channeled? If you only placed “Ryunosuke Naruhodo,” then that’s on YOU.
Tumblr media
You need to place in your letter what timeline this takes place or if Ryunosuke is being channeled. You could’ve placed the following: “To Naruhodo Ryunosuke (Channeled by Maya)” or “To Naruhodo Ryunosuke (Phoenix Wright Timeline)”. Anything that would inform me that this takes place at a certain timeline would work. If not, don’t be surprised if we don’t answer it in the timeline you want. We can’t read your mind.
Tumblr media

Dear Sinyove,
Chief Mod Edgeworth: Fixed it!

Dear 91teivos,
Mod Vera: Thanks! Everyone in the world is going through some kind of existential crisis, so it made sense for the AA characters to join the party! (And since it was another follower who gave us the idea, we might just keep that idea in the think that after all...)
Tumblr media
Dear dawsongfg,
Mod Vera: No need to apologize! We like to space out letters from specific people a little, but we’ll answer as many as we can!
Tumblr media
(Referenced Letter)
Dear Bluedragoncody,
Co-Mod: Don’t worry.  I doubt they’ll have much luck against the Ace Attorney crew, even without the Proto Badger.  They have the ultimate weapon against despair in their arsenal, after all.
Tumblr media
...They’re doomed, aren’t they?
I can’t make any promises, but if I ever gain enough skill in the art of animation (which has been a dream of mine for a long time, it turns out), I’ll keep that idea in mind.
Tumblr media
Dear skibot99,
Mod Vera: Probably Tumblr bein’ weird. (What else is new?)
Tumblr media
Dear sheeeesh,
Mod Vera: Mods get brought on as needed, as you can see with the arrival of Mod Edgeworth! Also, DGS2 is one of the few AA titles I’ve never played, but rest assured. Where there’s a letter, there’s a Mod who can answer it!
Mod Edgeworth: To add to Mod Vera, even if you weren’t accepted during any mod applications, that doesn’t mean you have lost all chances. I applied early January and lost to Mod Vera. Regardless, Co-Mod informed me that, even though I was rejected, he saw my potential and kept me in mind for if I was ever needed. Now, here I am.
Just because you get rejected, that doesn’t mean it’s game over. Show that you have potential and make yourself known by sending letters to us. That is what I did, after being rejected. I made myself known to the mods by sending letters. We do read them and they tell us how much you know the characters and games of AA more than any application. Of course, you must also follow the guidelines. That just goes without saying.
Co-Mod: I think my actual words were something like “Don’t tell anyone, but you were my second choice.”  But yeah, what they said is true -- becoming a Mod here, like many things, may or may not happen to you, but you can definitely increase your chances by waiting patiently and demonstrating your potential.
As for DGS2 letters, I’m afraid those are still off-limits unless you know of a way to play or watch the game in its entirety, translated into English.  I guess I could check to see if the Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 channel finished translating...
Tumblr media
(Translation: Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?!  ...D-Don’t tell me?!)
...Okay, looks like I have some watching to do.  Don’t know how I missed that.
So, uh...  That part in bold was what I was going to say.  Now that both games are finally getting an official English version, all I can say is, hang tight!

Dear Inferno again,
Co-Mod: Yeah, I agree.  I was just joking around.  For anyone who didn’t catch it, that was a reference to Sbemail #108.
The event’s technically over, but we’ll answer the rest of the April Fools’ Day letters when they reach the bottom of the queue.  I’m as eager to see Trucy’s reaction to the news (after the stunned silence) as anyone else, after all.

Dear Ella,
Mod Edgeworth:
Tumblr media
I can’t see the first link and....
Tumblr media
How did you find this masterpiece and where can I play this game?
Co-Mod: We don’t check for direct messages on Tumblr, if that’s what you’re referring to, so it wouldn’t have made any difference anyway.  You can always send links in your letters, of course.
Tumblr media
(Previous Post)
Dear Inferno,
Mod Edgeworth: That mad lad would be me and thank you.
Tumblr media
I like to put my heart and effort when answering these letters. With this one, I figured you wanted to see Trucy in costume, so I just searched up an image on Google for the Ancient One’s costume, a sprite of Trucy and a bald head to put on her. The rest I photoshopped on GIMP.
We’re still going through letters from January. Hopefully we will get the rest of yours soon enough.
Tumblr media
Mod Edgeworth: Thank you very much. Your support and the others’ support that have liked, commented and reblogged it mean a lot. As you have stated, a majority of the fandom seem to consider him the worst. I’d like to think it’s because how AA had created this villain of a character to be universally hated was pure genius. Not even the Phantom gets this much hate… and that’s saying something.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I’d like to keep my real identity outside this blog a secret. I write a lot of letters here and I don’t want to break the spell for anyone. Think of it like a Disney theme park. The cast that play the characters will never admit their true identities, outside of family and close friends, to prevent the experience from being ruined. I want to do the same as a Mod. I don’t want to break the spell of writing to your favorite AA characters. This blog had helped me through my tough times and I want to help everyone else as a mod.
However, I will answer your letters and, if you post anything on your account, a mysterious friend I know may linger and give you a like ;)
Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear Ali S. Fakenamington,
Co-Mod: Beautifully so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear Sinyove,
Mod Edgeworth: That letter was made in 2012 before AA5 and AA6, which was WAY before I became a part of the AA fandom. I’m certain a lot of us were not here when this letter was made, except maybe Co-Mod, but you’ll have to speak with him about this. I will say that the mod that answered this is no longer working here... I think. At the very least, I haven’t heard from him.
That being said, AA4 or Apollo Justice was the first AA game I’ve ever played. Despite all of the hate I saw towards that game, I still loved it regardless. Though, having not played the trilogy, playing the tutorial of AJ was a pain in the ass. I remember going to YouTube to find out how to beat it, because it was so hard. I also played it on PC.
I do see where The Mod was coming from. Had the two sequel games never existed, Apollo Justice would have more holes than my brothers’ socks. My only critique is that Phoenix wasn’t any better either with having Mia babysitting him during almost every trial AND investigations. Hell, Phoenix needed Mia to know how to talk to a kid, talk to a perverted old man, almost gave up in most of his trials in the first game and never conducted a trial without Mia until Turnabout Goodbyes when Maya literally couldn’t summon her. For the most part, Apollo was doing fine on his own without Phoenix, with only Trucy assisting him for the two middle trials, only almost giving up once and Phoenix having assisted him during times when Apollo was not in a normal situation (like when the criminal turned out to be his own co-council/mentor or when he had to lead a trial that included the Jury System). That’s more than Phoenix ever did on his own in the first two games and I think Apollo deserves more credit than he got in that letter in my opinion.
Tumblr media
For me, Apollo Justice is one of those games you either like or you hate. I love it for what it is. My least favorite AA game would have to be Ace Attorney Investigations, the first game. The second one is my absolute favorite.
Co-Mod: Sadly, I haven’t seen or heard from the Mod in a while, so it may be time for us to declare him MIA again.
Tumblr media
Erm...  Sorry, poor choice of words.
I’m fairly certain I wasn’t around 5 years long ago, but I have to say, Capcom did a great job of making Apollo and his story more interesting over time.  He may not be Phoenix, but he certainly carried his legacy forward pretty well, both as an attorney and as an Ace Attorney protagonist.
Now, WHAT ABOUT ATHENA ALREADY!?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dear BDC,
Co-Mod: It fits like a glove, if you ask me...although it also kind of reminds me of 101 Dalmatians.  And thanks for that bit of info!  I never get tired of watching people enjoying the fun dialogue and plot twists of Ace Attorney, so I might have to look him up.
I’m not sure I feel the same about watching Dahlia’s voice actress, though.  I’m sure she’s a nice person and all, but the thought of hearing that voice for so long...  *shudder*
Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear dawsongfg again,
Co-Mod: I wasn’t trying to say that natural deaths can’t happen in the Ace Attorney universe, just that most deaths aren’t what they seem.  I knew right away that Archie Buff’s death was no accident, for one thing.  Waaaaay too much of a coincidence, know what I mean?

Dear jnv11,
Co-Mod: Huh...  How about that?  Sorry for missing that detail.  I blame it on the depth of Ace Attorney’s characters (and the fact that it was Grossberg I was researching).  Thanks for that added detail, too...I guess.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: I didn’t see your letter, unfortunately (unless it’s already been answered).  Your actual email address isn’t required, by the way -- you can just use a made-up one if you want.  Don’t ask me to try to explain the ways of Tumblr, ‘cause I can’t.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Mod Vera: Hey, I’m still getting used to the specifics of running this blog as a Moderator, and I’ve been a fan for years! No worries, friend.
Co-Mod: Yeah, that’s not an official rule or anything.  Even if it was, it’d be pointless to try to enforce it, so no problem.
Tumblr media
Dear Kyruki,
Co-Mod:
Tumblr media
Do I dare ask what the context for this is?
Mod Vera: Oh, geez! And I thought Pokémon stopped incorporating over-the-top religious symbolism with graveyards shaped like crosses and whatnot. I almost don’t want to ask what the context for this is; it’s sort of amazing on its own as a mystery.
Tumblr media
Dear bluedragoncody,
There’s no real criteria; it’s just whatever gives us those moments of inspiration. If the opportunity presents itself, or if the regular sprites just don’t give us quite the right reaction we’re going for...“Eureka!”
Tumblr media
Dear sinyove,
He’s a little too unpredictable to say for certain, but it’d probably involve a lot of maniacal laughter, then a bitter reflection of how the law was never a sunny, safe place for people like him.
Followed by more maniacal laughter.
Tumblr media
Dear Gumshoe Fan,
Unfortunately, said Magical Mod has moved on to greener screens, but I’m sure they’d appreciate the love! I’m pretty sure all of us here owe our dedication to the blog to their hard work.
The AAA team is filled for now, but as the newest addition, I’ll say my favorite song from the games is “Hotline of Fate” from JFA. It was so good at getting my heart racing in that last case!
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
We did, and the answerer did apologize and explain the confusion. Even the most experienced Mod makes mistakes when they’re not learning all the ins and outs of a new gig.
We also got the replies on all subsequent Edgeworth posts. In the future, if there’s a mistake, just one private message to the Mods and a little patience is all that’s required. We’re only human, after all.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
I’m a fan of both Simons - Blackquill and Keyes - as well as Lang, Kay, Godot, Athena, Apollo and Edgeworth.
As for ships, I’m going to have to be basic and say Mia/Diego. It was my first real ship, and I still love its heartbreakingness. It’s bittersweet...like dark coffee with just a hint of sugar.

Dear skibot99,
Co-Mod: I don’t really have an opinion on it either way...mostly because I don’t follow the Pokemon anime.
Tumblr media
It says something when a savior of the world takes that long to win a league, though, doesn’t it?  I don’t know what, but it says something.
Mod Kristoph: Um...good for Ash? (I haven’t watched Pokemon in years)
Tumblr media
Dear skibot99,
Co-Mod: Yeah, so about that...  The reason you can’t find that letter is because I actually deleted it.  Someone wrote to us saying they were disturbed by the suggested suicide (which I’m sure it wasn’t meant to be), so I kind of caved and deleted it per their request.  Sorry about that!
As for searching for your favorites, I recommend using any keywords or phrases you can remember from the letter response (not the letter itself, since most letters are just pictures on this blog).  If that doesn’t work, my best advice is to search the character it was written to, click the hashtag, and scan through them all until you find the one you’re looking for.
Tumblr media
(Link in Letter)
Dear Inferno,
Co-Mod: My sister shared that with me once.  If I were a writer at Capcom, I’d be so jealous after seeing that level of high-quality humor being written for those two.
Mod Kristoph: This post is the hero we need and the hero we deserve.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: That’s fine, as long as you don’t assume the Ace Attorney character knows the other character, or anything about them.  Fan fiction, art, games, etc. aren’t considered canon here.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: It took me a while, but I’ve finally purged the blog of that name.  Never let it be said that I don’t do anything for you folks.  I’m sorry to see you go, by the way.  There was some good discussion between you and The Mod back in the day.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: Not at the moment, unfortunately.  I still haven’t watched very much of the anime, plus it’d be difficult to make sprites for the characters exclusive to the anime.  I wouldn’t say it’s entirely off the table, though.

Co-Mod: I’d be violently protesting here, but I’m kind of able to do that already.  So...yeah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dear skibot99,
Co-Mod: Nope, those rules are still there.  I just sort of forgot about them for those letters.  I’ve been overworking myself a little bit lately.
Tumblr media
Dear Detective Itater,
Mod Kristoph: A Canadian, eh?
Co-Mod: What are you talking aboot?
Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear Person again,
Co-Mod: You have a bad habit, my friend.
Tumblr media
Dear rogertheegg,
Co-Mod: It depends on what kind of mood I’m in.  On a good day, I’m a lot like Moe -- happy, fun-loving, and willing to laugh about the silliest things.  On a bad day, I’m more like Dr. Grey, getting angry about everything and wishing things could just work out for me somehow.  But most of the time, I’d say I’m most like Vera Misham -- artistically inclined and passionate about certain things, but sort of reclusive around others.  We can’t all be Athenas, I guess.
As for my relationship to the other Mods, I’d say it’s good, but not super close.  We haven’t even communicated beyond occasional Discord chats, but that’s working out fine for us so far.
Mod Kristoph: I’d like to think I’m closest to Apollo; determined to get to the truth, snarky, and kinda loud. Thankfully, I don’t have any daddy issues like he does.
Tumblr media
Dear Nymphiawatch,
Co-Mod: No need to apologize for something beyond your control, especially on Tumblr.  This error only happened in one of your letters (the one to Edgeworth), so feel free to try resending it.
Tumblr media
Dear Same Person,
Co-Mod: See, now, there’s a question worth answering.  For characters in Dai Gyakuten Saiban with different names, we’ll probably stick to the ones given in the Ace Attorney Wiki.  We’ll still answer your letter if you use the other names, of course.
Tumblr media
Dear skibot99 again,
Well...how can I put this?
Tumblr media
The animation of the console sprites might have been improved, but at this point, I don’t really see a reason to change our 2D sprites, plus I don’t know of any good place to find the newer ones on the web.  If you do, please let us know!
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: Thanks a bundle!  If I’m not mistaken, 2011 is the year this blog originated, but it apparently started on a different website somewhere.  That’s all I know for sure, unfortunately.  I’ve loved it ever since it started, so I’m super glad to keep it going and keep it “funky”!  I highly recommend playing the games, by the way, or at least watching a playthrough of them.  They’re a lot of fun either way, plus they’ll help you understand some things about the characters you meet here.

Dear sinyove,
Mod Maya: we have lives ;-;
Mod Kristoph: College. ‘nuff said.
The Mod: Blatant apathy and a disregard for others. Also a full time job and adult responsibilities.
Co-Mod: What they said.  Also, I’ve been doing at least 90% of the work, so there’s that, too.

Dear Guquis,
Co-Mod: Glad to hear it!  For anyone who didn’t get the joke, it’s from a meme based on a quote from Avengers: Endgame.
Tumblr media
I’ve gotten into memes a lot lately for some reason.  Please send help.
Mod Kristoph: Took me a while to get that joke.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: Hang on, let me go look up what those terms mean...
...
...
...
I was born in 1990, so it looks like I’m a millenial/gen y.  That makes me between 2 and 3 years older than Phoenix.  Man, I need to get a life soon...
Mod Maya: We’re baby boomers, in fact
The Mod: I’m actually a millennial, so please end my life.
Mod Kristoph: I’m actually Gen Z. You guys are old.
Tumblr media
Dear skibot99,
Co-Mod: Whew, that’s a tough one.  There are a lot of great ones out there, both old and new, but I’d say my favorite series is Sonic the Hedgehog.  The more recent games have mostly been hit or miss, but the classics (Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast,  Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, etc.) are deeply etched into my childhood, and I still love going back to them.
As for genres, I like any sort of game that has at least one of the following: an interesting story, good music, and fun mechanics.  I only know of a few that capture all of these well (i.e. Celeste, The Legend of Zelda, Paper Mario, Kirby, etc.) but I can also enjoy a game that has only one or two of them (i.e. Rhythm Heaven, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario games, etc.).  I’m mostly a sucker for good music, and Sonic games keep me coming back for it.
Mod Kristoph: Same with Co-Mod. I’m also a fan of Professor Layton, Assassin’s Creed, Metal Gear Solid, Super Smash Bros.,
Tumblr media
Dear sinyove again,
Co-Mod: Eek!  Sorry.  I didn’t quite understand what “namerulehideparentheses” meant.  It’s been fixed now, though, so just take it easy.
Tumblr media
And don’t take it out on the other mods, either.  That was all me.
I’ve never intentionally tried to build any storylines through linked letters, but there are times when that ends up happening on its own.  One recent example is the one about the unfortunate murder of Iris.  An older, less tragic one involves Apollo and Athena arguing over each other’s fashion sense.  I sometimes get tired of typing “(Previous Letter)” over and over again, but I never get tired of seeing where non-canon events might go next.
Tumblr media
Dear skibot99 again,
Co-Mod: Nah, it’s probably just one of those nutty nightmares.  If Phoenix can have them, so can you.
Tumblr media
(Previous Letter)
Dear Anthony,
Co-Mod: Over me not wanting to pick random letters and answer them?  The Mod’s already been doing that, so there’s really no need to purchase any signs or torches just yet.
Tumblr media
Dear snowballstumbl,
Co-Mod: I’ve seen the letter in question, but I didn’t see either of those titles in it.  I’m guessing either you didn’t send the letter in question, you sent it before you were finished writing it, or Tumblr ate it.  I’m sure we’ll figure it out, regardless.
Tumblr media
Dear Mothmouth,
Co-Mod: I’m doing pretty good, thanks!  My sister recently got married, my dad celebrated his 60th birthday, and I finally have a job that I think I’ll be able to hold onto (I’ve had been through different ones since I joined this blog).
I’ve had a few Ace Attorney-related dreams, but none about a new one coming out.  That definitely sounds like an interesting title, though.  In fact, it sounds like another Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover.  There’s a sequel I’d love to see.
And as it turns out, someone else came up with that idea and drew a game cover of it!
Tumblr media
(Art by Lady Layton Speculations)
It may never happen, but the idea is enough to get anyone’s fan senses tingling, isn’t it?
Mod Kristoph: My fan senses are tingling! Quick! To the Fan Cave!

Dear Inferno,
Co-Mod: Aaaaah, okay.  It was a pretty short speech, so I guess that’s why I forgot about it.  It was very sweet to see (and hear) Maya say out loud how much trust she has in Phoenix.

O-Okay, sure!  I’ve practically forgotten all about it by now, anyway.
(That was awkward.)

Dear sinyove,
Tumblr media
We’ll get to the Mod letters soon, hopefully by the end of the week.  Sorry it takes us so long, but that’s just how it is when people from different locations attempt to collaborate.  Thanks for your patience!
