Mid-Century Burst | CC-Free

A tricky little shell challenge that you can get some use out of too! Tried to dig into some 70s inspo for the exterior on this one. This is 2 bed, 1 bath, fully-furnished and CC-free. Because of the limited size of the main shell, I added a detached garage with an apartment on top, which adds +1 studio bedroom and +1 bathroom.

The TS4 shell challenge I used for this lot was called "BubbleShell3" on the gallery from the ID "bubblesisgaming". I'm also playing around with using random palette generators for room inspo, this time from ColorHunt. It's been fun and I recommend using it to get out of your comfort zone!

It cannae happen #so you're forced to add a FULL 10 tiles on both sides of the lot. but it made me play around with that extra space more than I would've #and I like the garage & granny flat and shed and outdoor areas I added!#kicking my feet and writing 'shell challenges' in a big heart in my diary with glitter pen #also the randomly-generated colour palette thing is sooo interesting and challenging with a CC-free game #because at every stage there's a point where you're like 'there just isn't any way I'm gonna find swatches that match this'#and then you inevitably find ONE thing that pulls it all together and it's sooo satisfying and it ends up looking so different from my usua

Downtown: 103 Custer Boulevard

Good evening/morning, this day I bring to you another downtown property as this is the area in The Sims 2 that I am currently working on. This started off as a Victorian in the vanilla game, however since this was made before mansion and garden stuff it's look was pretty primitive. I decided to keep the original layout and just improved on what was already there.

As always, my lots are very modestly furnished, feel free to add or remove whatever you like.

Always make a backup of your game before installing this or any DLC into your game to prevent permanent loss of all your hard work in your game.

I used TS2 UC to makeover this lot. This lot is CC free. If there are any issues, please let me know so I can fix and re-upload. Enjoy.

Doogler Hollow! A Maple Hollow/Doogler Valley mashup/mini-uberhood.

Exactly what it says on the tin. My first custom hood, Maple Hollow as a main hood, with my second custom hood, Doogler Valley as a pre-attached subhood. There are new family links, new friendships and rivalries between the two hoods, and more secrets for you to discover...

The Doogler house is larger.

Shelby Holloway is now Janey Bargo's younger sister. (Janey's children recognise Shelby as their aunt too.)

Angelina Fox is now Clarice McPhelps' twin sister.

Tons of acquaintences and friendships have been added. (Like the one between Sabrina and Megara, shown above! Is it possible that sparks could fly between these two???)

A couple of rivalries have been added. (I'm looking at you, Hamlet...)

Hamlet now has friends. Go, Hamlet!

Sabrina and Felicity are related to Ashiya Iman.

A lot of lifetime wants have been changed in Doogler Valley.

All of the townies' names have been fixed.

*It's worth noting that none of these changes are that hard to implement yourself, if you don't want to switch hoods/prefer the originals. This is more to fulfill the request and make it easier for me to play my own personal game, lol.

Pretersolaria Institute: CC-Free Uni & Individual Lots

Eventually I want to share the entirety of Rhyolite Valley, but it's a bit hairy with the 47 sims & CC hood deco & the garbage data I let seep in while playing (so I'd have to remake all of that before sharing).

I thought I'd "practice" the process of remaking the hood by starting a little smaller: The uni subhood. Since I only made a handful of sims for it (which are not included... yet) and it works aesthetically without CC hood deco. Sounds simple, right? Weelllll it took about a week of near daily effort to actually do. Makes the prospect of doing the actual hood soooo much more exciting lol /s

Anyway, that's what this is: A new university subhood template that's CLEAN & EMPTY. As a bonus (or if you just don't like the subhood), I've also included individual lot packages for every lot in the subhood to use wherever you want.

The "gimmick" of this hood is that Rhyolite Valley, and by extension Pretersolaria Institute, is entirely self-sufficient & cobbled together by the local residents. Which means there's no indoor plumbing lol.

That also means simply sitting down at a computer to write a term paper isn't as easy as a regular uni. Students have to go to THE BOOKMOBILE to access computers. Same goes for the skill building required for each semester/major. You have to venture out to the relevant community lot to find the means for skill building.

I've included in the uni's photo album & the lot descriptions which skills are available to build on each lot. It'll say "+Cooking" or whatever skill(s) the lot can provide based on the objects it has.

Place the "PRTR" folder in its entirety in the "Program Files > EA GAMES > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate" directory. Or whatever equivalent location you have for a TS2 University folder in the Program Files section.

Mootilda's Subhood Selection Mod is required to see additional universities below the main 3 pre-made ones.

You can then select Pretersolaria Institute in the list of options when creating a new uni subhood in a neighborhood.

• On 2 lots (Big Heart Dude & Wiploc Amphitheatre), I used the Seasons Music career reward The Rock Hammer for speaker deco. I used MoveObjects to delete the guitar but keep the speakers.

It's possible that either A. The guitars will respawn when you move the lot in the hood, or B. Sims will attempt to play the guitar and complain about being blocked (because I purposely blocked them).

If the guitars respawn, open the lot in Buy/Build mode and with MoveObjects On use the sledgehammer tool to remove the guitar.

If sims are complaining about not being able to reach the guitar, well they're not supposed to be able to lol. If hearing them complain is annoying, you can either use this mod that makes them stop yelling when something blocks them and leaves only the thought bubble, or delete the whole object.

• The Wiploc Amphitheatre may also have some glitchy-looking ground that you can see in neighborhood view when the camera moves. This is because I shortened the lot with Lot Adjuster. I don't know how to make it stop doing that, because I've transferred the lot to other hoods, packaged the lot, Lot Cleaner'd it, Lot Compressor'd it, moved it to the Lots & Houses Bin, etc. and it has never stopped looking like that. So again if that annoys you, remove the lot I guess?

• Please let me know if there are any additional problems.

I've never done this before specifically with a uni subhood, so it's very likely I messed up somewhere.

8 Frugal Lane

8 Frugal Lane - No CC - Under 20k

I realized I hadn’t cross-posted this home to Tumblr yet, so I figured I should. :) If something is messed up, please let me know!

Frugal Lane homes are always under 20k, and this one is no exception. Built for housing three Sims, this would be a good family starter for a family with a child or teen. Sims will appreciate the two bathrooms on hectic mornings and the convenient eat-in kitchen throughout the day. The living room is a good size (I think) and has an easel, chess table, bookcase and TV to get Sims on their way to success! Decorated in neutral tones, this home should be easy to upgrade, reconfigure or just use as-is for a while. No pre-planned driveway space on this one, but you could still get one on the lot by moving things around a bit around the entryway.

This home has:

2 bedrooms.

2 bathrooms (one with a tub/one with a shower).

Fire alarm, burglar alarm, and phone.

Easel, chess table, bookcase, TV and two desks.

Minimal landscaping to keep the cost inside rather than outside!

No CC was used, but all EPs/SPs are installed.

Potter's Paradise | CC-Free

Hello hello, another little CC-free shell challenge house for download. This is 1 bedroom (with a studio that could easily be turned into a second bedroom), 1.5 bathroom, fully-furnished and oh-so cheery!

There's a small fishpond out the front Sims can technically fish out of (though I recommend just feeding them) and a little BBQ area & produce garden around the back. The TS4 shell adapted for this lot is the "Yeehaw" Shell Challenge by lilsimsie.

Good Evening!!

Tonight I bring to you 205 Custer Boulevard. It's one of the Downtown Lots. This lot will be the lot that will house my Mayor for Downtown. Now, HERE'S THE THING. Please read carefully as you will need CC to make this Lot build look like the pictures. I will only link the build mode items, although some sets may have Buy mode objects such as the 4t2 For Rent Set. The download itself is CC free however if you have the items in your downloads folder already, they will appear in the house if I am not mistaken. If you do not have the build mode items in your downloads folder, you have a decision to make.

Download the build items on the list.

Work with what you get when you put it in your game and adjust it how you want it to look.

Don't download, don't use.

The reason why I did not include the CC in the download is because I am not sure of permissions, I rename all of my files so they will not overwrite if you have them and why not check out the creators' pages? they have awesome stuff, you might come across someone you didn't know existed :)

I did not include links to the decor and furniture CC as there is a lot to look up, and some pages are not search friendly, but I will answer WCIF requests.

Always make a backup of your game before installing this or any DLC into your game to prevent permanent loss of all your hard work in your game.

I used TS2 UC to makeover this lot. This lot is technically NOT CC free as it will not look like the pictures without the CC. If there are any issues, please let me know so I can fix and re-upload. Enjoy.

Welcome to the final version of Maple Hollow! Since it's original release, I've had time to fix up a few errors and improve a few things about the hood. This update is completely optional but it does fix and add a lot of things so I would technically recommend it over the original- but it is in no way intended as a complete replacement!

So what's changed?

All of the add-on sims from my Maple Hollow have now officially moved in!

The McGlevin and Ingeburg families now reside in the family bin, ready to move into your house or apartment of choice.

The Mortar family are already moved in close to the Spiels- with a brand new, fully furnished vampiric house for you to enjoy.

A majority of the community and residental lots in town have been improved with new features and better lighting.

The Newlow house has undergone a complete makeover.

The Holloway house has undergone a complete makeover.

Shelby, Christopher and Angelina have undergone slight visual tweaks. Marge too!

Last but not least- all of the recessive genes, hobbies, interests, bios and states of sims (including the add-on sims) have been fixed!

These are completely minute changes apart from the house renovations, so please don't feel the need to pause your current playthroughs or anything like that. I just wanted a definitive version for me personally to play because I'm lazy like that. ❤️

P.S: There will be a subhood version of this soon, I just wanted to get this upload out of the way so I can play my own hood a little first!

P.S.S: This has a different hood ID than the original, so you can technically play both at the same time if you wanted to.
