Finally I'm releasing Westbrook Cove for download! Thanks so much to everyone who's asked for it and waited for it, I appreciate you all so much! ♥ Unedited preview under the cut! Please make a backup of your game before installing.

Creating a custom 'hood and releasing it for download is not hard and not a big deal at all, but since I was doing it for the very first time, of course it wasn't all smooth sailing- hence the wait. I had to recreate it 3 times lmao, due to not knowing all the facts (silly me) but it was all in good fun honestly and I'm super happy it's finally shareable! 🐸

Sooo, this 'hood is completely clean, no characters and no stealth 'hoods or anything. It was created using the Baskerville terrain which, of course, is included. You can play it using your own defaults, but here are the ones I use that you can see in the preview pics:

The folder with the 'hood (N025) goes to your 'Neighborhoods' folder in the Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection (or just The Sims 2)/Neighborhoods 🐛 I debated whether I should include a folder with all the custom neighborhood deco you need, but I figured that probably most of you already have all the CC needed since the buildings and houses I used have been in the community for years! So instead I have made a CC list (under the cut) so you can easily download and/or check if you already have the needed deco. 🦓

There is also a folder with 10 residential lots created just for this 'hood to match its vibe and the aesthetic. They have all been cleaned, compressed and the little CC they have is included and the preview pics are under the cut. 🦔 But, just in case, download these build mode sets (in case you don't already have them):

As requested, here is VWU uploaded (but in brown). I had been working on turning the 3t2 university rabbit holes into lit-up deco but I decided to scrap my project for now. (Honorable mention to @itsdiamondeyesuniverse for their help. Sorry, I couldn’t finish what we started).

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

The download includes a decorated university subhood. Also, a folder with a few community lots. There is also plenty of space to fill with lots of your own!

You can see a overhead view of the campus, and place the lots in the same spots if you wish.

INSTALLATION:

Be sure to rename the files to match that of your chosen neighborhood. You can simply add the files to your chosen neighborhood’s folder. Or use Mootilda’s Hood Replace to completely alter an existing university subhood.

Городок СС-free. В архиве находятся два файла - сам город и изображение для кастомной картины.

1) Папку FR00 необходимо разархивировать и переместить по адресу: Документы\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods.

2) Для отображения в игре картинку "pumpkin" необходимо переместить по адресу: Документы\EA Games\The Sims 2\Paintings.

Strangetown, but more

Once upon a time I started my legacy in Strangetown. Looking at every house and community lot in a row along the single highway was a little sad for me.

So I figure there should be some kind of little town nearby, mostly self-contained, but built up by the alien tourist industry. A few Sim City 4 tutorials later, I had StrangetownX. All of the original lots, except for the Smiths who I figured would enjoy being in town, are pretty much in place. But I have a nice little community that isn't along a major highway.

Speaking of that tourist industry, before you get to town, you'll run across the Last Stop Gas Station, Nowhere Diner, and the Strangetown Truth Tour (with gift shop).

This photo set also features one of the things that makes me sad about TS2: the neighborhood terrain doesn't pick up on the variations in the mountains in the distance. I was tired of looking at sand sand sand as far as the eye could see, but Strangetown isn't a grassy void, even though it sure looks like one here.

I built the Truth Tour a long time ago but went looking for some downloads for the gas station and diner. I was lucky to find the perfect diner by zaxis at MTS. Credit for the gas station goes to @fuzzyspork, who I was so sad to see had passed recently. I remember her very fondly from my days on the boolprop forum and will miss her humor and creativity.

Anyway, I'm hoping to keep sharing my neighborhood pics and some gameplay as I start going through my rotation again.

Let the challenge begin!

Pleasantview... Pleasantonshire, in its humble beginnings as a simple settlement!

My hood is pretty much ready to play, with the exception of one home's interior which needs some decorating. But I am burnt out from all building and re-decorating, and itching to play!

I've made a character page, so you can see all the settlers of my neighborhood! I opted for the genetically correct version of some of the premades (thank you to @marvelann, @plumbtales, and @simgigglegirl). Other have remain unchanged, while some sims (mostly 2nd gen, like Angela/Dustin/Dirk) are born in-game versions of the original sims.

Got tired of using simpe every time i start a new save/uberhood (which is much more than i'd admit) so i've made my own version of strangetown! this uses @average-vidcund-enjoyer's V2 gc strangetown premades on Dorsal Axe's Fixed Strangetown V 1.3. i've also moved in the Singles and Ajay Loner into their lots (which come in with the essential furnishings and nothing else) for my conveinence.
