No idea how to price these, the material costs are about £5-10 (The boards are the smallest ones I buy and come in at about £4.50, then alu leaf is at most about £2, and then there's between 35 and 60ml of paint, thinners, and varnish per board which is at most £2, and then time is an incredibly fungible question because I don't really work for blocks of time, I just sort of drib and drab at it for half an hour at a time for a couple of weeks. I suspect the answer is 'put it on the stall and see what people want to pay'.

High winds this morning, so turning the boat around in the dock was an achievement in itself - lots of people cursing and fending off approaching hulls with their feet. But we did it, and now the other half is facing the walkway and available to be got at with power tools.

Other side still to sand and paint. Also we'll be sanding and painting inside the fresh water tank. So we won't be finished in another week, but two more weeks might do it.

A little something!!

Done! Other than the varnish, but that will take a week before I put it on, atop all else because I need to buy a new jar of varnish...

One side of the boat is finished! Huzzah! This morning I finished putting the new name on it.

Hopefully this means we're three quarters of the way through, because we've now stripped the roof, front and back decks, bow and hatch, and have at least two coats of primer on all of those. So there's only the other side (and the back doors and tiller) left to strip back to metal.

After which it's just 8 layers of paint on the other side to do, also 6 more layers on the decks, hatch and bow, 8 more layers on the back doors and all the decoration and name plate to put on side two. Oh and the final two coats on the roof.

Tonight we turn it around and start on the other side, which means a grand reveal of the new paint job to the rest of the marina, who have been watching us work for over a month without seeing any change. (The unpainted side faces outward - the painted side faces a wall.)

I wonder what they'll make of it :)
