Your sif system (sifstem?) Stuff is really fun, cant help but think about how if you dont have memory of self equipped your loop count will jump by large amounts, and like, what if someone else started fronting in the middle of the loops (assuming sif, loop, and mdp arent the only alters)

Honestly? Even though the Skipped Loops thing is what first inspired this, I mostly have been thinking about the Sifstem (love that name btw) in the post game family adventures (because reasons).

THAT BEING SAID!! I have had thoughts about Siffrin, after getting out of the loop, trying to fill out a diary with all the loops they (plural) remember, and having a lot of loops they just. Can't.

one thought i had about isat as that an everyone looping au would provide a bit of a support system for each other, but an au where each person is going through their own loops before all being shoved into one loop during their act 4s sounds fun. by act 4, everyone is so tired but trying hard to not seem suspicious. so i imagine there being a paranoia spiral as everyone is trying to follow the script and not seem too strong. that said, Siffrin not being included in the loops seems painfully fun

Ohhh very good isat looping au thoughts... act 4 with everyone in an act 4 mindscape sounds fun and stressful for everybody involved!! Somebody notices I think.

The support network through the loops before they figure out that they want to keep traveling together being the foundational wish...

And then leaving siffrin out seems to be angst heaven :(

"I'm scared."

(It felt like pulling teeth trying to get those words out. You didn't want to, but you did. You need to be open with them, but you don't want to. But you do.)

"... I'm sorry."

(There's a pause. There's always a pause. Like you're still in a play. Why did you say that? Why didn't you say it sooner?)

(Were they mad? Freaked out?)

"Sif...?"

(You look up. Isabeau was holding out a hand. Oh, looking down you didn't Even realize you were gripping your cloak with a death grip. You pry a hand off it and take Isa's)

"Pleasedontbemad..."

"Mad? Sif! I'm prouda you!"

(Isabeau was beaming at you.)

"Last time you opened up to us it took nearly ending the world! This is a big improvement!!"

(... You're starting to giggle.)

(And cry.)

(Wuh oh.)

"!!" (Isa jumped to your side.) "Did I say something wrong???"

(You shook your head.)

"I think they're just a bit shaken up, right Sif?" (Mirabelle got up to your side as well. You nod, and take a breath.)

"You guys, don't think I'm crazy or anything?"

"There's someone I know in Bambouche like that, it's nothin' to be scared of." (Nille was giving you a comforting smile. You barely even knew each other and she was being so nice?) "What was it they called it?"

"A Dissociative Identity."

(You look up at Odile, she was smiling too. Did she know something?)

"With what you've been through, and how You've been acting, I thought to look into possible reasons myself. A dissociative identity is someone who, in essence, has multiple personalities in one body. Each with their own memories, self, etc."

(You wipe your nose on your arm.)

"Eewww Siffrin!!" (Mirabelle made a face, you laugh, Isabeau hands you a tissue.)

"That.. that sounds about right." (It was you.)

"How long ago did this start?" (Asked Isa.)

(You hide your face in your cloak, expecting the reaction) "... About a month, month and a half ago."

"Siffrin!!!"

"Ah Gems.."

"around when we first met then?" (Asked Nille.) "I thought you were just Like That."

(You snort and laugh.)

(Your family was... Being so nice to you.)

"Yeah it was around there. I think. First one showed up when we made it to Bambouche, second right before we left?"

"Sooooo when can we meet em?" (Isa said excitedly.)

"I bet we already have, big guy." (Nille replied.)

"Hah! Yeah I guess so! Who are they?"

"And, well, you know me. So that makes three."

"Ha!! Guess we get to talk to loop again after all!!" (Isa cheered.)

(Nille was smiling cheekily at you. Why was she smiling?)

(Wait, she was looking behind you, so was Odile. You turn around.)

(Oh.)

"Heyfrin."

(Oh stars, please don't be mad.)

(Bonnie stormed over to you. They looked really angry, were they listening in the whole time? You were going to tell them too!)

(They looked you up and down, scowled at you.)

(And gave you a big hug.)

"Stupidface." (you could feel the tension leaving the room, even if you winced a little.) "I was worried about your crabbin face all day you big stupid face!"

"Language." (Nille chimed in.)

"YOU'RE language."

(Everyone laughed a bit. You take a breath. Oh Stars the kid wasn't actually angry.)

"Sorry, Bonnie, I was, hoping you'd be around for that talk."

"Heh, I heard every word, stupid." (Bonnie was looking up at you grinning.) "Big stupid."

"Takes one to know one Bonbon!" (Nille joked.) "And shouldn't you be in bed?"

"No way!! Someone's gotta make dinner around here!!"

"And that someone won't be you after that little tussle-"

"... Who's stomach was that."

"Not mine."

"Nor mine."

(Bonnie squinted at their sister) ".... Nille?"

"Doesn't change my point!" (She replied. Guilty.)

"HA!! I knew you'd be hungry!! C'mon let's go make some food!!!"

(Bonnie was dragging Nille out of the room now, probably to help make something for supper. You breathe in, and out.)

"... That went well." (Said Odile, getting up and walking over to you.) "Siffrin, if ever you want to learn more about this disorder, I'll help you look into it."

(You nod sheepishly, getting up as well.)

"We're here to support you Siffrin!" (Mirabelle was beaming at you like nothing had changed) "If something happens then you can always tell us, ok?"

"I'll try-"

"WAIT!!!" (Isabeau's expression dropped as he realized something). "Have, have I been making them super uncomfortable at all with our, y'know, our thing-"

"That's what you're worried about? Gems, Isa."

(You hide your face in your cloak.)

Thank you for MdP and being nice to it. It's trying its best to keep the others safe in its own way.

Thank you!!! I really want to emphasis that MdP is not evil and I'm glad that's getting across. It's very isolated (by it's own choice) and believes that any vulnerability is a risk to being taken advantage of. It's the most touch sensitive of the three and usually wont let anyone touch it.

That being said.

It. Cannot deny Isa cuddles are good.

"Siffrin?"

(Your traveler had scared you all half to death that morning, screaming out about, something. It took a while to calm him down until they fell back asleep, it was about time to check up on them. Siffrin made some noise and shuffled in his bed.)

"Good morning Sif! Have a nice sleep?"

(You go over to the side of their bed as Siffrin finally turns around, looking like they didn't have a nice sleep at all. You waited for their usual response.)

"... Mmmira?"

(... Alriiiiight maybe a bit more tired this morning, but Sif always started off by suggesting a sleepover, or maybe even reminding her of the Carrot method, again. It was kinda cute, honestly.)

"Where... When am I?"

(Oh! Alright! A reality check!)

"O-oh! Well! We're in Jouvente, remember? We got here a few days ago! Odile went to the Library again today, and Isa went looking for some medicine for your fever! Are you ok? You were screaming about..."

(You couldn't remember. It was probably nothing.)

"I was...?" (He still looked sleepy) "I remember... Remember it was..."

"A nightmare?" (You interjected, he had been having a lot of nightmares since you all defeated the King. It was to be expected, you hadn't experienced what Siffrin went through, you can't even imagine...)

"A nightmare, or..."

(Siffrin bolted up as if struck by lightning. Panic clear in their eye.)

"Bonnie! Where's Bonnie! I, I need to make sure they're ok I-"

(You hold up a hand, but don't touch.) "Hey! It's ok! Bonnie's ok! We beat the King remember? They're not in danger anymore! They wen't to the farmers market with Nelle-"

(Siffrin grabbed your hand, his was cold, despite the fever. Actually, they were crushing your hand.)

"When!!! They can't go there! Mira I- Can you go get them please they can't..."

"It's ok Sif! They wont be gone long, Bonbon even said they wanted to get you-"

"I Looped back again Mira!"

(... Looped? Siffrin was crying, looping back like they had fighting the King? But that only happened because they weren't going to be traveling together anymore, right??)

"I-I was, at the market with Bonbon and- and I was distracted and, and someone grabbed Bonnie, I- I-"

(Oh)

(That, actually makes a lot of sense. The fever, the panic. And if that was the case..)

"Oh! W-well that's ok! They only just left, I'll run after them now, ok?"

(The look on your companions face was suspicion. Bonnie and Nelle had left about 15 minutes ago, Mira would need to sprint to make it there quickly. And Siffrin couldn't come with, not in this state.)

(By Change... He looked so tired. Siffrin let out a sigh and lay back down. You stood up and headed for the door.)

"Be back soon, ok? Don't go running after me, promise?"

(Sif only nodded in response.)

(... You decide to grab your rapier on your way out of the inn.)

Ooh I very much like your sifstem stuff! You said you were cool with asks about it so I hope it’s cool because I am eating this up.

How often does everyone front? Is there anything that makes someone front more than the others? (Especially interested in Mal du pays because…)

Please I love asks!!!

Siffrin is the host, so they are around the most. They live the day to day and are well, the one that the family is familiar with.

Loop is the second, they co-front with Sif quite a lot (still calls them stardust) and helps them with advice, times of stress, similar to what they're like during the time loop. The big difference is that Loop sometimes fronts solo when Siffrin is over stressed. Or, if Loop just... Wants to hang out with their family.

They never got a chance to after all.

And as for Mal Du Pays...

It's... Harsh. Not evil, not out to do harm, just harsh. It's very protective of Siffrin, Loop, and their body. It fronts when it feels they are threatened and will do anything to keep them safe. Even pushing away, Isabeau, Bonnie, and the others.

And, as you can see, when things to do with Memories show up (like finding a random Universe book in a random library).

Loop and Mal are both very bad at pretending to be Siffrin. Which is a problem, since Siffrin is still having trouble opening up about their problems. And having two other 'yous' in your own head is definitely something to open up about.
