i think snake really was weird in vinland saga. im gonna stick with that opinion
#personal#its not some horribly done revenge story character like tlo*2's characters (zombie universe idf soldier plays ball w war dog. clearly this#should make u less mad she killed our protag/protag's dad) but snake... didnt do anything to amke up for his actions?#maybe i'm an unforgiving asshole lol but i feel like its not bad if einar at least stayed neutral abt him. snake lead to the death of his#love like a week ago lol?? he protects his men and takes care of his grandpa but what does that have to do w einar/arnheid#meanwhile thorfinn is like haunted nightly by his teen crimes and is advocating peace talks to the king for his master's farm#one is definitely doing more than the other lol. snake was never in some complex situation where hes forced to uphold the law#or misunderstood the situation or whatever. he also defended his men who he kinda describes as outcasts but its more bc theyre shitty#im not gonna say criminals but murderers/rapists. why would i respect him helping his men when they threaten a widowed slave woman#idk he didnt make sense... in s1 it felt like u could like characters as characters bc of diff aspects that make them interesting#but our protags are warm in return despite all snake's done lol?? same w kestis but he's not shown as favorably in the end
