Happy 10th Birthday!!!

Today is the 10th anniversary of my UTAUloid, Shiroku Musume!!!

I intended on releasing a demo for a new voicebank today, but unfortunately some stuff came around and I was unable to get it done in time. But, hopefully I can still get something out sooner than later. She is not forgotten!

ah yes... the origin story of shiroku... what a long journey its been and how much she’s changed.  ❤

so in like november or december 2011, i was making silly little drawings in flipnote studio using those little base things you could download and edit in it. there was one of a love is war drawing and i decided to make a vocaloid oc just for the drawing. she was basically a miku recolor at the time with a few outfit modifications somewhat like neru. her shirt split in the stomach higher up also like neru. her hair was short piggy tails like it is today but slightly longer. closer to her waist or bust instead of her neck or shoulders. i never intended on making her an utauloid but it happened! on the night/morning of may 1st 2012 i made her CV bank. by noon i finished the recording and imported her into utau. it didn’t sound good but i didnt understand that oto’ing was a thing at the time. as to be expected, it wasn’t nice at all. by the end of the year though, september, i believe, i had redesigned her in school and re-recorded her. she sounded excellent... and im still trying to recreate the sound. (if only i could get some alone time so people aren’t in the background of my recordings). 

Name origins? well, when i first made her, i didnt really do any research on japanese names. her name was just some random japanese sounds i put together and it just happened to mean something. ive came up with a meaning to her name as well. shiroku musume is just a stage name for her. shes actually korean and her real name is min-hee seo. as for her stage name, the meaning behind shiroku is “white”. “well, she’s not white!” you might be saying. No. I have a second meaning to “white” rather than just the color. pure. if you’ve read anything on her character page, you know that she’s a kind-hearted and cheerful person. she’s pure-hearted. simple as that. musume is pretty direct. “daughter”

when she was first created she was originally intended to be japanese... in 2012 when gangnam style was popular, i went through a kpop phase. it was also the year i went really crazy for seeu especially. i had loved her since her release, though. but in 2011 i didnt realize she was a vocaloid (lol). anyway, that was the reasoning for her becoming korean. rather unfortunately. but ive found ways to de-weaboo/koreaboo her.

that’s pretty much the origins of my child. i love her so much and i hope you do as much as i do!!! im so proud of her and i hope i can recreate the sound from her second act but of course better quality and new banks! 

shiroku isn’t actually meant to be kinda chub but it actually looks pretty nice on her :^0 it just kinda turned out that way

I lost access to the account the original missmusume was a part of and I finally got around to remaking the blog. It’s still a WIP of course but it’ll all come together soon! This time around, I also plan on just posting UTAU in general here, not exclusively Shiroku updates.
