getting married

kirishima ikuya, nanase haruka, matsuoka rin, shigino kisumi, tachibana makoto, yamazaki sousuke (separately) x f!reader | fluff | 1.3k words

summary: how would marrying the free! boys go?

warnings: none! pls enjoy 💞

a/n: i cannot write nagisa or rei x reader because i ship them so hard. they’re literally so cute together + i can’t even imagine them not being together so 🙂

you marry kirishima ikuya in a traditional ryokan with a temple attached. he’s not religious, but temples have always been important to ikuya since some major events in his life have happened there + he always somehow feels hopeful there. your colors are a wine red/purple + white. he insists that you guys should have the perfect wedding, w all the bells + whistles. the ceremony at the temple lasts for like 2 hours, + you’re so thankful that it’s nice outside. ikuya is shedding tears the whole time but trying to seem composed + elegant. but you can feel him trembling because he’s clutching your hand the entire time. the ceremony is held in the only “party/conference room” in the ryokan.

it takes ikuya a while to get out of his shell + loosen up enough to dance. thankfully, hiyori helps him in this department by giving him a few drinks. then the rest is history. ikuya still can’t remember the small details of the reception, but he does remember trying to talk to the koi fish in the pond adjacent to where the reception was held. there’s videos of it, rin made sure of that. you have to drag ikuya up to your room on the 2nd floor of the ryokan + you nurse him back to health the entire next day. which was kinda nice, since ikuya is absolutely adorable when he’s all pouty. your honeymoon in stockholm, sweden doesn’t start till the following week, so you spend your first couple of days married to ikuya cuddled up to him and snoozing.

you marry nanase haruka at the beach, most likely the beach that he grew up on in Iwatobi. the man did not want to wear a suit + you, of course, know of haru’s love for water. so you compromise + he agrees to wear a nice, white cloth button down with khaki calf length pants. your main colors would be a lighter, almost turquoise blue paired with white. when he sees you walking down the aisle, all he can hear is the ocean waves behind him and your soft footsteps in the sand before him. the only thing he’s focused on is this moment, and the fact that you’re the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.

he doesn’t know what to do with his hands or how to express his emotions. will likely shed a tear or two. haru doesn’t write vows, because he thinks it all seems so rehearsed, so he will say what he feels in his heart when the time comes. you’re all left sobbing. haru doesn’t really like huge parties so your reception has music, of course, + he has a great time just dancing w you + his friends. the reception ends a little early because he wants to be able to spend time with you alone before being whisked away to your honeymoon in santorini, greece

you marry matsuoka rin in an aquarium in tokyo. he wanted to get married in Australia but didn’t want to make his mom + sister travel, so he opted to make his Australian teammates travel instead. both the ceremony + the reception are held in the aquarium but in different areas. he —surprisingly —wanted to take over most of the planning for the wedding. he has had this dream of being married in the soft blue glow of the huge fish tank, so you guys get married in the jellyfish viewing room of the aquarium.you don’t have set colors because of the darkness of the inside of the aquarium, but it works out because the light reflecting off of the jellyfish make for the most beautiful blues, pinks, and reds.

he cries like a baby the entire ceremony. from the time he stands up at the altar he’s crying. sousuke has to read rin’s vows for him because he can’t stop sniffling + no one could understand him the first time he tried to read them. the crying doesn’t end until the reception is held in the main viewing room since it has more space + the main tank has sharks! there’s tons of photos ops for the guests and lots of dancing. he wants the reception to end semi early, like around 10p, because you guys have to catch an early flight to your honeymoon in sydney, australia (y'all just stay in the apartment you share in sydney but you go on little adventures to somewhere new every day)

you + shigino kisumi have a destination wedding! he really can’t decide between paris and rome, but you guys agree on paris since it’s known for it’s romance, just like kisumi is known for his own cheesy romance. your colors are a dusty pink + gold or white. kisumi wants the ceremony to be short so you guys can spend the rest of your wedding partying with your closest friends + family! so the ceremony only consists of your vows + the official “do you take…”. he 100% makes the dumb “kiss-me” joke during the “you may kiss the bride” moment. kinda ruins it but is also so cheesy you can’t help but smile.

he lowkey cries during his vows but you can only see glossy eyes + hear little sniffles. people in the audience most likely will not know he’s crying. BUT BOY CAN THIS MAN PARTY. you guys plan for a tonnnn of wedding games that get the entire party up + bumpin. the party lasts literally till like 5a + you guys just head back to your hotel to begin your honeymoon, since you’re honeymooning in paris anyways

you marry tachibana makoto in a garden. it’s a super small wedding consisting of only both of your families + your closest friends. your colors are pale yellow + orange which mix nicely w the deep greens of the garden. he’s had his vows written since he decided he was gonna propose to you + getting through reading them was so difficult for him. his ears + cheeks are a furious red that contrasted w the watery look in his eyes. he makes it through, though, but the paper his vows were written on ended up soaked in his tears. you + makoto ended your ceremony by releasing butterflies into the garden, which was entirely makoto’s idea. he’s crying the entire time.

the reception is held in the greenhouse that belongs to the garden. makoto actually made most of the decoration, which consists of tealights in mason jars, beautiful floral arrangements, + little wooden barrels w cute photo op accessories on them. you have to practically carry makoto home from the party because he’s all partied out. he didn’t drink a drop but the dancing + laughter + fun he shared w you + his friends tired him out. makoto has always wanted to go to new york city in the usa, so that’s where you guys have your honeymoon.

you + yamazaki sousuke have a traditional wedding in tokyo. sousuke isn’t religious but he likes the architecture of old churches + wanted to have his ceremony somewhere with high ceilings. the wedding is huge, though, because of sousuke’s huge family. all of his relatives, whether immediate family or distant relatives, are invited because sousuke felt it was the right thing to do. your wedding colors are turquoise + coral, + the church looks beautiful decorated in these colors. the ceremony lasts about an hour + a half + sousuke is fidgeting the entire time. you couldn’t tell from his face that he was nervous but you could tell from the way he was cracking his knuckles, shuffling his feet, + adjusting his tie. you take his hand in yours + immediately feel him calm down. he whispers a thank you to you + the rest of the ceremony goes by much easier for him.

he says his vows with ease + doesn’t shed a single tear, but once you guys are on your way to the reception in a nearby hotel, he’s all sniffles + watery smiles. this man parties quite hard, especially w his friends. he’s overall responsible, doesn’t drink much, but he’s almost competitive when it comes to dancing. he will outdance all of his friends + even you if you try to challenge him. because of all the dancing, he’s complaining that he’s sore the entire flight to hawaii the day after for your honeymoon.

the rest of that sentence was a blur because he just dove in to kiss you

probably cried about the wedding for the rest of the week

Basketball Date with Shigino Kisumi

A/n- Happy birthday to the best pink-haired boy (reality wise too because he's just a normal boy living a normal life surrounded by gay friends lol)

----------

Watching Kisumi play was not uncommon to you. He'd often stay behind after classes to practice, and would ask you to tag along with him every now and then. But it still amazed you how he could be goofy one minute, and get very serious the next. Sure he wasn't the best player on his team, but he was pretty good and everyone liked his friendly nature.

"Oi pinky, it's your duty today to lock up the gym before heading home."

"Yea yea I know. I'll leave in a while."

"You're practicing more when they've been waiting so long for you?"

"Well," Kisumi smiled in your direction and waved you over, "I was planning on playing with them for a bit."

"You want to play with me? Even though I'm not even close to your level?" you asked.

"It's alright love, I can always teach you or go easy if you want a match."

"Ergh please do not flirt in front of me, Kisumi. I'm still single you know." the guy elbowed Kisumi while everyone else just laughed before bidding their good-byes.

"Happy birthday, pinky!" "Take good care of yn or I'll steal them from you, cotton candy!"

"They've got some pretty awful nicknames for me, haven't they?" Kisumi shook his head as he passed the ball to you. "Well then, let's see if you learned anything last time."

"From you? No. I had to ask a friend to teach me a couple things."

"Oh? So do you think you can beat me now sugar? Don't worry I'll still go easy on you."

"And you say they've got awful nicknames for you." you tossed the ball up in the air, close to his face, before shoving it away and running towards the basket.

"Well my nicknames for you are a sign of my love for you." you heard him laugh close behind you.

You tried to shoot the ball, which Kisumi managed to block thanks to his height, as he dribbled towards the other side of the court. He easily scored a basket, and he should've been used to it, but he still turns towards you with excited, child-like eyes as he happily exclaims his victory.

Gosh you couldn't even complain when you get to see him like this. Pink hair, the same shade as sakura blossoms, all messy and sticking down. His purple eyes shining with excitement and happiness.

He was making most of the baskets, barely missing any. When he noticed you struggling, he came over to you, and helped you take aim.

"Here let me show you." he said as he picked the ball up. "You position your hands up like this, and using the fingers of your dominant hand, you toss the ball up. See?"

He tossed the ball slightly into the air, where it rolled around twice before falling back into his hands.

"Here, why don't you give it a try." he held your hips to help get you into the right position, and then held your hands to show you how to position the ball, laying his head on your shoulder as he repeated how to do it again.

The proximity flustered you. You were glad the others had already left, otherwise that would have been embarrassing. You should've gotten used to it, considering how many times he'd shown you in the same way, but perhaps you couldn't learn thanks to the proximity.

Hell this one time he kissed your cheek before asking you to shoot the ball. How were you supposed to maintain your composure after that?

It took a couple tries, but you managed to get three baskets in. Kisumi ruffled your hair as he praised you for the successs.

"Do you want to go again?" You nodded. "Alright, this time I'll start with the ball yeah?

Kisumi's purple eyes quickly scanned the area around you, as he dribbled the ball through in-between your legs to get past. He quickly positioned his hands above his head as he took aim, tossing the ball right into the basket, again.

"So much for going easy." You mumbled, going over to catch the ball before it rolled away further.

"Sorry darling, I'm just used to playing for my team you know." Kisumi laughed as he wiped his chin with the backside of his hand. "Do you want to go again?"

"No~ I'm tired." You whined as Kisumi nodded and started packing things up. "Would you like to head somewhere else then?"

"Oh yes I wanted to take you to this one park! This will probably be the last wave of the Sakura blooms this year, so we'd better enjoy it."

"Ah~ I'm so lucky that Sakura blooms can be seen till my birthday huh. Maybe we should kiss under one."

"Kisu you kiss under mistletoe, not sakura blooms."

"As if you've read all pieces of literature regarding where you can and cannot kiss." he pouted.

"Okay fine, just hurry up. You also had plans to meet up with your friends after this, remember?"

"Of course. I wonder what kind of 'surprise' they planned this time. I hope it's not as weird as sticking up the image of a pink unicorn on the wall like last time."

"A p-pink unicorn? Oh my god hahaha." you laughed.

"Hey not funny. Ugh never mind, let me just lock up the gym and then I'll catch up with you, yea?"

"Alright, love you Kisu."

"I love you too, yn."

Day 6: Congratulations

Shigino Kisumi was a dietitian at TUH and someone who delivered a soul-crushing blow to Makoto’s heart by trying to bring Sousuke and Rin together back when everybody thought Rin was single.

The heartache he felt then dissolved thanks to Rin because he turned out to be dating Haru in secret all along.

The tables would turn, however, as Kisumi would be the one to save Makoto from the heartbreak prompted by Rin this time.

Makoto was wallowing in self-pity the day after Sousuke’s birthday—feeling sorry for himself because the man of his dreams would never reciprocate his crush—when Kisumi knocked on his office door.

“Hi,” greeted Kisumi as he strode in with the usual ever-present smile on his face. “Makoto, are you single?”

Wow, thought Makoto. Kisumi was just going to get right into it today.

“Yeah…” Makoto didn’t see any reason for him to lie. If Kisumi loved being a wingman that much, maybe he could find Makoto a distraction that could take his mind off Sousuke for a while.

“Perfect,” rejoiced Kisumi as he produced a name card out of his breast pocket. “I have just the right guy for you!”

Makoto gave a chuckle to humour him. He tried his best to hide the sadness in him, he knew deep down that no one else other than Sousuke would be perfect for him.

He then froze mid-chuckle upon catching a glimpse of the name card Kisumi placed on his desk: Dr Yamazaki Sousuke. How did Kisumi know that this was just the right guy he wanted?

The card was one used by hospital staff only, for when a doctor was on-call and needed to come in for emergency cases. Makoto was positive it was Sousuke’s personal phone number on it all right.

“You looked like you’re impressed,” said Kisumi with a tinge of smugness he couldn’t hide. “I’m sure you know what a good catch Dr Yamazaki is; he is handsome, tall, and has a well-respected career, I’m not sure how it’s fair for someone like that to remain single. So, I’ve taken it upon myself to find him someone suitable.”

Makoto wasn’t paying attention to Kisumi’s pitch because he was looking at the phone number on the card with an intense gaze. A string of numbers that ended with a zero, and not a six like the contact number that he had refused to erase for seven years now

“Oh, really?” He replied half-heartedly as he took out his phone, before realising that the response was too perfunctory. “I mean, is he really single? And isn’t he… heterosexual?”

“That came across to me as Rin’s attempt to placate a jealous Haru, so no, I would not assume that he’s heterosexual if he hadn’t said so himself. And yeah, can you imagine such a man’s good years going to waste?” Kisumi shook his head in disapproval. “I can’t imagine a man like you missing out on your best years either. So you know what’s the best course of action in this case?

“Erm…” The answer was in Makoto’s mind even before Kisumi proposed it, but he pretended to contemplate for a moment, scrolling his phone like he was being distracted by work. Sure enough, Sousuke’s saved contact came into view and he quickly looked back up at Kisumi as he pressed into it. “The two of us… start dating each other?”

“Uh, I was thinking of you two getting to know each other better on a more personal level first but, bingo!”

Makoto looked at his phone screen again and indeed, bingo. The number in his phone was off by one number at the end. He had to use every will in his body to resist the urge of a facepalm in front of Kisumi.

Makoto forced out a chuckle again, unable to hide the redness on his face. “I, uh… maybe I will go talk to him, then.” He looked at the time and stood up, surprised that it was only 9 a.m.; Sousuke was probably still on his post-call rounds. “Dr Yamazaki did an in-hospital call from seven last night. Do you think he’d still be in the ward right now?

Kisumi lit up at his question, flashing a bright smile on his face. “You mean you’ll go talk to him right now? I’m so happy and glad to see you so eager! But whether he’s still there or not depends on the attending he’s presenting to.”

“It’s Dr Mikoshiba in charge this morning,” Makoto knew off the top of his head and couldn’t hide his joy, mirroring the radiant beam Kisumi had. Although he felt bad that Sousuke was getting stuck here past his 12-hour shift—Dr Mikoshiba would have a lot of questions for the doctors he was training about each case of admission—he would be able to catch Sousuke before he knocked off and sort things out with him face-to-face! He gathered his things and quickly thanked Kisumi before rushing along in the direction of the GI ward.

He had only just dashed out of his office when he gasped at seeing Sousuke down the corridor.

“Makoto,” Sousuke was collected by contrast. He added, “Do you have a moment?”

“Oh, Sousuke!” Makoto couldn't hide the surprise on his face, since Sousuke had his stethoscope off and his bags on; he was ready to knock off. He was also delighted that they were now on a first-name basis with each other even without a spoken agreement. It was since that phone call yesterday, he supposed.

Now would definitely be a good time for him to finally breach the topic of remembering Sousuke from all those years ago.

“So–”

“I–”

A moment of silence passed by between them before Sousuke let out a deep belly laugh at the cliche and rubbed his nape.

Makoto was relieved to find that those mannerisms he had from all those years ago hadn’t changed. That was probably why he managed to muster up his courage to continue the conversation. “I’ve been meaning to say happy belated birthday!” He gave Sousuke the best smile he could manage with the nerves in his stomach. He hoped his voice would at least block out the heartbeat in his chest that was so loud it was reaching his ears.

“Thanks! Listen, I- how do I put this… uh,” Sousuke seemed to be having difficulties catching his breath, as his words came out in short phrases. “Erm…”

“You’re sounding like Nitori-kun when he called you yesterday,” joked Makoto. He was slightly more at ease now that Sousuke looked like he was having a harder time speaking. He gave a small laugh and added, “Are you okay?”

Sousuke then did a long inhale audibly and said, “That was the first thing I said to you back then, wasn’t it?”

It then became Makoto’s turn to have trouble forming words.

Sousuke remembered! He still recognised him after all those years!

“I’m not sure if you remembered,” Sousuke looked down to the floor and smiled sheepishly. “It’d been so long.”

“I do,” Makoto replied, a little too quickly.

Sousuke directed his gaze back up and Makoto saw how his teal eyes lit up. They were truly beautiful and that colour had always had a calming effect on him. “You do? I’m so glad,” said Sousuke with a relieved smile. “I’ve been meaning to ask you since I first joined this hospital.”

“Sorry about not saying anything earlier,” and Makoto was genuinely sorry. Maybe they would have become friends now had he not acted like he’d never seen him before or kept mum about knowing him from back then.

“No, don’t be,” Sousuke stepped closer before continuing, “I should’ve asked you earlier. I had the impression that you’d like to keep things professional, so I thought… I shouldn’t bring up personal history with you while on the job.”

“I’m glad you think so highly of my professionalism,” Makoto chuckled, despite the bittersweet feeling inside.

“I do! I was actually very impressed back then with how good you were as a student. I’ll always be thankful for your care during those times. But in the end, I was only a patient to you, so…”

“You were never just that to me,” Makoto had the urge to immediately clarify that.

“But… you never said anything before you ended your time at the rehab centre. I never got any calls from you after that either.” There appeared to be disappointment in Sousuke’s eyes.

Makoto never mentioned that his duties at the centre would be completed soon because that wasn’t a thing he had wanted to acknowledge. He thought that’d be it for them, so he’d rather cherish whatever moments they had together before the end would come. After all, it wasn’t like he could ask for someone’s phone number on the job, that’d be highly inappropriate. It wasn’t until Sousuke left the number for him that sparked hope in him of the two of them becoming something more.

“In truth,” Makoto didn’t know how he could break down the mishap that happened, so he showed him the text messages that he saved on his phone. “I did try to text you.”

Sousuke inched forward to peek at his phone screen. “The number in your phone ends with a six instead of a zero…” He then read the texts in silence with his jaw agape. “Makoto, I- I’m so sorry!”

That elicited a genuine chuckle from Makoto, because what did Sousuke have to apologise for? “It wasn’t your fault I got the wrong number saved.”

“Well, I was the one who wrote the number down on a slip of paper…” Sousuke covered his face with both hands, attempting to hide the flush.

Makoto then imitated the belly laughter Sousuke did, except in his own higher-pitched voice. “Well, you know what they say about doctors’ handwriting. Glad to know you had it back then even before you became a doctor,” he laughed. It was very uncharacteristic for Makoto to joke like that, but somehow, he knew that Sousuke would not take it to heart.

Embarrassment spread to the tips of his ears now, but Sousuke’s shoulders shook with mirth at Makoto’s good-natured jab. “Seriously, I don’t know what to say for myself.”

“Then don’t worry about it,” Makoto reassured. They had the chance to come across each other at TUH and that was already more than he could ask for. “We can become friends now. We met each other again, didn’t we?”

“Yeah,” Sousuke looked into his eyes then, before saying, “Or even close friends. I deserve better people in my life because Rin didn’t even know my sexuality and just assumed.”

Makoto tried not to let the giddiness in him show, only allowing a relieved smile on his face before he laughed at the complaint about Rin. “Of course. I’d love that.”

“Sweet,” said Sousuke, letting out a breath he’d been holding in with an audible exhale. “I have a lot of catching up to do with you. How was your time at the psychiatric ward? Even though I’m sure you did well on the exam, how was the experience? And congratulations on your licence! The me from seven years ago would have instantly replied with that and maybe brought you out on a celebratory dinner.”

Makoto was too excited about the catching up they’d be doing, so he blurted out his reply before he could be self-conscious about it. “It’s not too late for you to take me out on one now.”

“Really?” There was a lilt in Sousuke’s tone, to Makoto’s greatest delight. “Oh, I know! I should buy you a meal to congratulate you for the outstanding achievement of already being a manager at thirty. Will you be free tonight?”

Makoto gasped as he caught himself being inconsiderate. Sousuke was probably dead beat by now with the overnight shift he just finished, yet Makoto was being selfish and took up precious time that Sousuke could use to rest. “You must be so tired! It doesn’t have to be tonight, Sousuke.”

Sousuke smiled meekly and said, “But I have a lot to say and wanted to talk as soon as possible… Here, give me your number this time so I can be the one to reach out. I’ll arrange a time over text for us to get dinner?”

“That sounds good,” said Makoto, trying his best to not sound too eager or desperate at the opportunity. “I have time tonight.”

“I’d love to meet up today, but that’ll mean I better go home soon to freshen up. I wouldn’t want to look like a mess for something akin to our first date.”

Makoto had not imagined a day like this would come. He thought the only thing that warranted a congratulation at this moment would be the fact that his dream guy just asked him out.
