So Henry's outfit in the recent David post "back by popular demand" is the exact same as what he has on in the staircase embrace pic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are so many ties to the Instagram photos and the promotional images/teasers/trailer. My head is spinning!
But, YES, I have to believe that Alex took that photo of Henry and David.

okay, i have to know your theories for that eddie pic
Tumblr media
This is the picture we're talking about, for reference.
Again, I want to reiterate that I have not seen 7x05. If I had, I would not be answering this question.
But I *want* this to be Eddie's "OH" moment. I want this to be Eddie turning back to Buck and realizing that there are feelings he doesn't understand, but he knows they go beyond friendship.
I want Eddie to be looking back at Buck, but Buck doesn't see this. Buck doesn't see Eddie's expression here.
That stolen look loaded with meaning for Eddie would give this character the time and space to discover how he feels about Buck while Buck figures out what he likes in a relationship, too. Maybe that means Buck is still dating Tommy. Perhaps that means Buck is dating someone else. I want to see more of Buck and Tommy's relationship.
Either way, it could easily introduce a season's worth of pining and longing and yearning between Buck and Eddie.
Tumblr media
I'd love it if it played out like THIS scene from The Rookie 4x22, "Day in the Hole." I don't think Buck and Eddie will kiss like Lucy and Tim did. I think that would be way too early for Buck and Eddie. But Tim definitely has his "OH" moment on the other side of the door.
It seems like Eddie's could happen on the OTHER side of the door.
Do I think this would make a good, engaging cliffhanger to keep fans abuzz during the hiatus before Maddie and Chimney's wedding (assuming that takes place in 7x06. I don't know, though.)? YES.
Really, I could write about this all day. But I'll stop. For now.

Did you see the picture Oliver posted?
This one?
Tumblr media
There's so much to unpack here. But my favorite part may be his facial expression. Nevertheless...
Is this after Buck and Eddie wake up and realize that Chimney isn't there? Where did he pick up those Party City glasses because they are not on theme? Why is he just looking at his pant leg while it's ON FIRE? Who is going to pay for this WRECKED hotel room?
Most importantly: IS THE HIATUS OVER YET?

do u want buck to tell eddie how he feels in this week's episdoe
No, actually.
I would like to see Buck have that recognition or shift in his feelings for Eddie.
I don't want everything between Buck and Eddie to happen all at once. Not after six seasons of this slow burn (if that's where the show is going). I want the characters to take their time.
Plus, TO ME, that makes for a better story anyway.

I just feel like every episode Lucy has had something happen to her and she keeps getting knocked down-(1st argument with Tim, detectives exam, almost getting shot/ shooting the criminal, Tim icing her out then breaking up with her out of the blue, Tamara possibly moving out) like I feel like these last episodes we could see Lucy slowly spiral as well and see her really break down. Bb girl has been through A LOT! I am excited to see what happens with Lucy next!! What are your thoughts??
Lucy does have a cascade of not-so-great things hitting her all at once, and it's tough to watch because it never really eases up.
BUT I have to believe that's leading somewhere for her. I think she will have some personal or professional breakthroughs because of all these hurdles and setbacks. I don't think all of this is happening for no reason. The show has to be building to something for Lucy.
I'm a firm believer that Tim and Lucy will get back together, just not this season. And, honestly, I'm glad for it because I think they each have so much to work through individually before they can be in a relationship – Tim especially after the last episode.
Nevertheless, I am excited to see what comes next for Lucy. She's one of my favorite characters on TV right now.

Why don't you think Eddie's been OOC?
I think he's just navigating life differently than he has in the past. One of the best examples I can think of in Season 7 is when he used his tools from therapy to help that woman in the hot tub.
I'm honestly shocked that so many people don't like Eddie's new era. To each their own, I guess. I've been loving his silly, goofy mood.
That man has been through SO MUCH, and he's done A LOT of work. Not every minute (or episode) of his life will be like this. The show clearly knows that he has plenty more trauma to address and work through in his own time. So, who am I to say he can't feel the joy wherever he finds it? Personally, I'm just glad that he realized the best thing for him is to NOT let Marisol move on because he does not know that woman who has had .2 seconds of screen time.
It's also a treat to see an actor play all sides of their character.

Buddie Season 7?
I don't know about Season 7, but I do feel more optimistic than I have in A WHILE.

BUT WHAT ABOUT BUDDIE
I can break this down more later because I have lots of thoughts (Who's shocked?!), but I still think Buck and Eddie's relationship could still be a long(er)-game plan.
Right now, at this moment, it's enough — it's everything — that Buck is exploring his sexuality. It's everything that he can exhale and be more of himself. It's everything that this journey is happening after so many years of searching for that missing part of his life. It's everything.
Do I still want Buck and Eddie to get together? OF COURSE. I'll never give up on that.
But that sequence with Tommy? Their chemistry? The charm? THAT KISS? I'm enjoying the journey — Buck's journey.
Gosh, it still feels unreal.

Do you think Buck could date another guy before Eddie
Yeah! If Buck starts dating men, I wouldn't be shocked if that first man is someone other than Eddie Diaz. I also think that could open Eddie up to feeling jealous about seeing Buck with another man.
Obviously, I hope all of that would lead to a romantic relationship between Buck and Eddie.
Of course, all of this is theoretical and hopeful at this point. The story has to go there with these characters before any of this can happen.

What do you want the scene from the promo to be like?
I could see it lead to something that ends up being similar to how Tim and Lucy's double date plays out with Ashley and Chris. I love that trope, and The Rookie did such a great job with it. It was undeniable that Tim and Lucy were the better pair. It was also apparent that they needed to follow through with their respective relationships before anything could happen between them.
That said, I hope the double date doesn't happen right then, right when Eddie and Marisol walk up. The promo video does make it seem like Buck and Tommy's date is over when Eddie and Marisol walk in, and I hope that is the case. I want Buck and Tommy to have that time. Like Buck says, it is his first date with a man.
THEN, I would LOVE to see a double date. Maybe in Episode 6 or the second half of Episode 5. Though, I think Episode 6 makes more sense. Basically, I want good pacing for Buck's journey. And I think he may get it. Or at least I hope he does.

Do you think Lucy was right to ask Tim to leave?
Yeah!
He wouldn't open up to her, which plays as distrust to Lucy. Also, on a completely granular level, Lucy has every right to be upset. She had no idea what he was doing or with whom he was doing it. She didn't know if he was in danger or something worse had happened. She had no information, and he wasn't willing to give her any.
Do I understand Tim's side of things, too? Yes.
His face after she asks him to leave breaks my heart.
But I don't see any other way for that scene to end and the story they're telling to have longevity. For this angst to continue and this backstory to unravel, that scene had to end that way.
I do believe that Lucy and Tim will talk it out at some point.
That point just is not right now.

Its not about them not being worth the effort or tim not fighting for their relationship. Tim's spiralling out right now and he's is self destruction. He honestly believes/thinks by pushing Lucy away he's protecting her as he feels he's a bad person/no longer worthy of her.
YES. This is such a huge part of it.
Tim is in such a deep and dark spiral that he thinks pushing Lucy away is the only way to protect her from him.
It's a heartbreaking and rough place to find Tim, so I hope The Rookie sticks with him and helps him through it.

why aren't you worried about buck and tommy?
Because nothing has happened between them yet, for one.
Secondly, I know that if Buck and Eddie were to get together, it wouldn't happen instantaneously or overnight or anything.
I expect one or both of them to see other people and learn about themselves in the meantime.
And I trust that the writers are capable, creative storytellers.

Do you think Tommy would be a serious love interest for Buck
I don't know. Maybe! Probably! Probably not! Who knows?
Again, nothing has really happened between him and Buck yet.
I just want Buck to be able to discover and explore his sexuality if that's where this story is going.
Really, I'm open to whatever Season 7 wants to do because everything this show is giving us so far is such strong work.
I need to see next week's episode before I can make any extensive theories about what will (if anything) happen next between Tommy and Buck.
The characters have only just emerged from that catastrophic situation. I need to see everyone, including Buck, settle before I can guess where the story will go.

there's already people online who hate the tommy and buck thing
Okay! They're allowed to not like it.
But, also, nothing's happened yet?
And, to be very honest, I don't expect Buck and Eddie to immediately get together if they realize they have romantic feelings for each other.
I wrote a bit about that earlier in response to a different ask. I don't see that coupling happening instantly.
