'maybe in another life...if things were different...wen qing and jiang cheng could have been' actually their personalities clash and they have fundamentally different worldviews and priorities and wq does not like him as a person or ever wants to be around him longer than strictly necessary so I think not. why are these people so desperate for this to be a thing. there are multiple tragic romantic couples to pick from and every single one is better than this including the two old ladies who have a single flashback scene together
