🤯 What's a genre you struggle with as a writer (ex. romance, action, etc.)?

all of them no but genuinely, like, slice-of-life, coffee shop-like aus, curtains fic, etc -- i am not good at making everyday things interesting. it's probably why i end up writing a lot of angst; if i'm deep in a character's feelings, i don't have to reveal how shallow my perception of the Real World is. a lot of my longfic suffers between like, actual Events Occurring. the pace drags; the energy vanishes. i try to take a quiet moment and it just... rarely works. but the stories need those so i keep plugging away hoping i'll be a real boy eventually!

weh. ok um. i think i write complicated characters and complicated relationships really well. i don't mean like the Problematic Ones-complicated, but even when i was mainly writing shassie or shelnard. i took what canon gave me and expanded my personal understandings of those characters (admittedly with help from some dear friends c: ily) that made actually writing them give more depth to relationships that have the potential to be p shallow.

even when i'm deep in an au, i know where the strings are to pull to keep a character true to themselves, which makes the changes in their personalities/experiences hit harder because you can see the shape of the canon character shining through.

ye, here's a preview of chapter 2 of My Lady of the Letters

In the late 18th century, buried in the depths of a Budapesti newspaper, there appeared a personal advertisement which, roughly translated, read:

“Foreign woman seeks diverting company with whom to discuss pleasures both grand and mundane. Good humor a must; knowledge of the arts preferred. Men seeking eventual matrimony should look elsewhere.”

For the first time since Crowley’s temporary relocation to a miserable, wintry Hungary, a sharp laugh broke through the frigid sneer that had taken up near-permanent residence on her face. She forgot for a moment about the snow that came up to her knees and the small, ultimately-pointless task Hell had given her, tracing her thumb under that last sentence. It spoke of jaded experience and bitter annoyance, each letter chosen carefully and paid for to drive off meddlesome men who looked to make a wife out of any woman who hadn’t yet turned them down.

It tickled at the back of her mind over the next few days. Crowley didn’t make a habit out of making casual human acquaintances, but why not this once? She was easygoing for a demon, and she knew more about art than any human alive. She certainly wasn’t going to bother the poor girl about marriage. Why not make the months she’d spend in Budapest a little more interesting?

Crowley wrote a letter, and when she sent it off, she knew that all other responses would be lost in the post.

tho if you go back through my fandom backlog, you can def pick out that there's one in each fandom bc they're the ones i'm meanest to skdfjksdd lassie, leonard hofstadter, michael bluth (i just typed michael butch someone end my entire life), chris argent, quentin coldwater, tomas ortega; if i whump them and/or bully them, it is bc i am spiritually holding them like a teddybear.

Who are your favourite targaryen couples

let’s start with the originals, aegon x rhaenys x visenya obviously 💋 they formed westeros into one, they made westeros better and could not do so without one another. the dragon must have three heads after all, and no other throuple is topping them ✨

aenys i and alyssa — now i didn’t think of them as one of my favourite couples before, but now that i think about it i love the respect and loyalty they had for each other. they had perfect children, i love each and every one of them. though it’s such a shame that alyssa remarried to # that person out of all people (i’m glad rhaena gave him what he deserved tho!!) and i felt so sad for her when she missed the affection aenys was showing her while being married to rogar. she deserved so much better than that man, aenys might not have been a good king but he’s def was a better man than THAT man.

jaehaerys and alysanne — now, their relationship had so many flaws and they had much to grief but they did truly love each other. they lost so many children which i absolutely hate :( and the lost children played a huge part on their relationship. (i mean most of them were created just to give them a harsh life but we ignore that) the start of their relationship is just perfect, them marrying secretly and showing up in front of their mother (and # THAT man) ?? we had to stan

baelon and alyssa — do i have to explain? the purest relationship in f&b its confirmed. baelon did NOT even glance at any other woman after her death. they were the original malewife & girlboss couple it’s true 💘💘

daemon and rhaenyra — now, they might have given so many people heart attack when they got married in secret, (like viserys lolz) but they’re just too iconic to not be one of my favourites. they’ve been making alicent mad since day 1 💋 maybe daemon wasn’t the most stable person in westeros but he still died for his queen at the end and i love that

rhaenys and corlys — corlys might annoy me sometimes 😭 but i believe he did love her (i just wish # that incident didn’t happen) i just shipped them so much then the old man had to go ruin it like that

aegon iii and daenaera — i can’t say much about them but definitely one of the cutest couples out there, thank R’hllor for them

aemon and naerys — now, i don’t believe that naerys and aemon had an affair behind aegon’s back or anything, but i believe they did love each other. they just didn’t act upon their feelings because of duty :((

brynden and shiera — i feel like i’m praising them too much but i can’t help it 😭 they balance each other out and they’re it for me!!!

jaehaerys and shaera — i can’t say much about them and wasn’t actually gonna put them on here, but they said fuck everyone and married each other instead, daemon and rhaenyra’s spirit 100% possessed them on this one 😭

also honourable mentions: viserys ii and larra (i don’t exactly ship them bc we know so little, but their relationship seems interesting)

daeron i and daena (again, this is kind of a crackship but like viserys and larra they seem interesting, especially knowing how much daena valued and loved daeron

i can’t think of anyone else rn but i’m sure there’s more 😭 and also snowstorm is #1 for me this is just historical targaryens

first of all i felt like BOO BOO THE FOOL when they announced the series will air in NOVEMBER. LIKE. i was so so SO sure it was a v v v early 2021 thing and u kno i was preparing myself for that BUT NO !!!!!! second, as much as im THRILLED to see them sooner than i thought, it will only be that soon because it's a project with ais play, which scares me bc ais play is exclusive to thailand :((( like the oabgun saipan fine club ep that we NEVER got to see in full (GIVE ME MORE OABGUN!!!!) but i have my fingers crossed that gmmtv will air it on tv or youtube

completly ignoring the storyline 🤡 i LOVED the trailer oh my GOD. i mean the very first scene? of them saying "i'm thonhon! i'm chonlathee!"????? MY HEART MELTED THAT WAS SO ADORABLE :((((((( khao as chon is def my #1 fave thing so far he looks illegally cute and innocent and a DUMMY and i love that look on him!!! also....... the size difference. it just.... gets me everytime. how khao is Extremely Tiny next to podd at all times UGH im such a loser for heigh/size differences so khaopodd really gave me ALL MY RIGHTS!!!!!

AND CIIZE????? AS CHON'S BESTIES????? THEY LOOKED SO CUTE AND PURE TOGETHER I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS FRIENDSHIP IN FULL!!! her character doesn't exist in the novel so im v v v v excited to see what the director planned for her.

NI AND AI?????? im a Big mantype fan i loved them way too much during 2gether so to see miketap confirmed as the side couple made me go 🥰🤩✨!!!!! the couch scene shot me Dead str8 to my HEART who gave them the right to be that cute :( AND JAN?????? WE SAW LIKE 2 SECS OF HER BUT I WOULD ALREADY DIE FOR HER CHARACTER????? SHE SEEMS SO EXTRA AND FUNNY AND CHAOTIC AND !!!!!! jan looks Amazing too and this is another character that isn't featured in the novel so im curious to see what she will be like!

now talking a bit about the story...... well.......... i hate what they did to amp (thon's (ex) gif) because she already seems like a b*tch in the little we saw of her, can't say i have hopes the full character won't be even worse than that. also. idk. thonhon didn't seem like the best guy out there, especially how he treated chonlathee's boyfriend :/// so im a bit wary of his character too but i have a tiny little bit of hope podd will manage to save it somehow !!

overall, as i was anticipating it Just A Little i can't say im not super super happy to see it being confirmed and know i wasn't just experiencing some kind of hallucination lmao. the series seems v v v pretty too, esp the beach scenes!!! and even with the plot, this cast is TOO GOOD for it to be a total train wreck (unless gmmtv pulls a waterboyy move, then i have no hope). i can't wait for november and i hope ppl will support khao and podd a lot!! because they deserve it!! let's make khaopodd gmmtv's new power couple!!!!!!!!
