Do you have any good wlw romance recs? Like explicit?
I do, but I will say--one thing I've noticed about f/f romance is that they are often less explicit than m/f and m/m. And I do tend to wonder why that is. There's of course the issue that f/f is less common in general than m/m and m/f, but.................... I also think there's a fear of being accused of sexualizing sapphic relationships. Which, totally get; but sometimes you want to read a hot sapphic book, I don't know what to tell ya.
Anyway, I would recommend checking out:
A Long Time Dead by Samara Breger. Not out until 5/16, but I recommend getting it ASAP. It's a vampire romance--one heroine is a lesbian, the other I think prefers women but is most likely bisexual. It's this decades long push/pull, and the sex is reeeeally good. There are some D/s vibes, "good girl"-ing, the strap gets broken out. One heroine also does have on-page sex with another person before the relationship fully gets going; this other person is a trans woman, and I really like how that sex scene was handled, both in terms of consent and in terms of a REAL trippy vibe. Such a good book. Here's my full review.
The Fiancee Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur. If you're more into contemporary romcom vibes, this is a marriage of convenience book with two bi heroines. It's not as explicit as others. There is one full sex scene, and one interrupted sex scene. Very cute if you're looking for something a bit gentler. Full review here.
Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner. A much sex-heavier contemporary. This one has a heroine who's in college and hooks up with an older woman at a bar... only to find out said older woman is her new bestie's mom!!! It's hot. A lot of sneaking around (both characters are out, to be clear). A lot of really good sex.
Queen Takes Rose by Katee Robert. This is one of Katee's Wicked Villains books, and that series is pretty high heat. It's basically a Maleficent/Aurora books but modern--older woman/younger woman, a deal with the devil/contract situation. Very hot.
Katee also has a f/f pirate book coming out soon, and Stone Heart is a f/f book of hers that's basically Medusa/Calypso, but modern. If you're open to m/f/f, The Sea Witch is a triad book that's Ursula/Ariel/Eric. Everyone is together, but there's a bit more emphasis on the f/f aspect, imo.
The Conquering of Tate the Pious by Sierra Simone is a medieval historical romance (not sure if it's available individually yet, was originally released as a part of the Villain I'd Like to F... collection) with a villainous Norman invader lady and an ABBESS. Kinda dark, super sexy, objects are used.
Olivia Waite writes explicit (though not super hardcore) historical romances--The Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics is one I would recommend. Cat Sebastian has a f/f novella with one explicit sex scene, A Little Light Mischief.
Hope this helps! It can be difficult to find good f/f books, not because they aren't there, but because there are fewer, they aren't traditionally published as often, and they just aren't discussed as much, unfortunately.

To be honest, I feel like young Norman just has a different vibe. Kinda interesting and mysterious.
I agree! Young Norman definitely gives “bad boy” (idk how else to describe it lol) vibes, or like mysterious guy next door who might be up to no good but he’s hot/suave so it’s okay lol. Probably why he got a lot of roles like that in the late 90s/early 00s. He just looks like he’d fuck with you mentally, but maybe you’d enjoy it?? Older Norman gives more dad vibes but still general up to no good energy (in a sexy way tho).

Henry as Daemon would water my crops, clear my skin and fix climate change. For the lols, who would you cast as some characters of the Dance? Like Rhaenyra, Corlys, Rhaenys, Laena and Laenor, Rhaenyra's children, Cregan and Black Aly, and any other you might think of?
Gosh ikr?? He's so FOIIIINE🥵💦 Even though he's a lot more bigger and bulkier than I imagine Daemon, Henry just does things to me... he's definitely more of an Aegon I type though. For Daemon, my current fave is Jason Lewis. He has the sexy Daemon look DOWN.
And omg that's a tricky one because my fancasts change all the time and sometimes I can't really find someone who truly fits the role as I see it but I can give you a few of my choices I suppose. I shall add links instead of images otherwise this thread will be too long.
For Rhaenyra I love the fancasts of Holliday Grainger from The Borgias (loved that show soooo much) she has a proper Realm's Delight vibe and now that she's a little older, she could suit the role well. Regardless, I'd like to see a curvy, buxom woman in the role, with an animated and charismatic personality.
For Rhaenys I only see one woman and that's Jennifer Connelly who I've adored for years, she so strikingly beautiful and looks like she could play a baddie™️ too🔥🔥 Laenor is quite tricky, because I imagine someone really pretty for him like Freddie Fox or a model like Otto Seppalainen and for Laena I really liked Thea Sofie Loch Næss who starred in The Last Kingdom and is so gorgeous. For my man Corlys, I see a real older, silver fox like Pierce Brosnan, especially in this linked photo. He's so suave!
For Jacaerys, I found this guy with the same name lmao, Jace Norman looks like how I imagine Jacaerys SO MUCH. I'm not that familiar with younger actors these days but I'm sure there's someone out there for Luke and Joff too.
For Cregan, I really like Alexander Dreymon from The Last Kingdom (he has the Stark vibe down to a tee) and for Black Aly, I think someone like Jodie Tyack fits the description and badassery.
That's all I can think of rn! I hope you enjoyed my fancasts, but be warned, they're forever changing lmao!😌😆

Chemtrails Over The Country Club review
White Dress (10/10)
White Dress is a haunting piano ballad, absolutely astonished with this opener. It's raw, simple and emotive, opening up the record with one of the best vocals Lana ever had in a song. The lyrics are not complex but you understand the beautiful message anyway.
Chemtrails Over The Country Club (7.5/10)
Not a bad title-track but my least favorite of hers, just doesn't stand out alone even though fits nicely in the record and summarize Chemtrails's whole feeling.
Tulsa Jesus Freak (8/10)
Sexy moment on the record, the sister track of Cinnamon Girl. Love the beats but the autotune annoyes me a little.
Let Me Love You Like A Woman (6.5/10)
Kinda boring to be honest, the worst choice as a single EVER. This song can't compete with the others, so it's on the bottom.
Wild At Heart (10/10)
Loooove it, one of my favorites. The chorus is spectacular and the verses are cute, the outro is a highlight too. The How To Disappear sample seems to fit better in this song rather than in HTD itself.
Dark But Just A Game (10/10)
Sexy and very Portishead/Amy Winehouse. I like every single piece of this track and the piano transition from the first chorus to the secund verse is CHAOTIC (in a good good way). Girl's not changing and that's all my folks. Also she mentioned the poem 'Howl' by Allan Ginsberg and that's so her.
Not All Who Wander Are Lost (10/10)
Midwestern blues, a Sirens kind of production (folk perfection). This song has its vibe, its sadness and reminds me of My Own Private Idaho (especially River Phoenix's character). I also adore the guitar outro in this one, Jack nailed it. I FEEL the layers of this track deeply.
Yosemite (10/10)
Would've been the best Lust for Life song, period! Another folk masterpiece, Rick Knowels is king. A sweet love song about not changing and being true to yourself and doin' things for fun and for free. HAUNTING bridge, very cinematic.
Breaking Up Slowly (6/10)
The live version was better and I was expecting at least a 4min song but this track sounds like a demo. Maybe a guitar intro and more verses and it could've been a highlight...
Dance Till We Die (10/10)
Wow. This song is good, the lyrics are touching and the bridge is THE moment that turns a calm song into a explosive moment, like water turning to wine. Also like the jazzy feeling of this track due to the instrumental composition.
For Free (9/10)
Her best cover in my opinion, sounds like sirens singing to the lost pirates. Zella, Lana and Weyes' voices fit perfectly and this one is already a sweet song but the trio made it sweeter. A nice closing track that sums up the whole mood of the record while making a tribute to Joni Mitchell and the essence of music.
Last considerations of the record:
Her seventh studio album is a brilliant comeback after the worldly-acclaimed Norman f*****g Rockwell!. Instead of jumping into a totally new world, 'Chemtrails' dive into some instrospective moments of 'Norman' and extend them whilst goin' for a midwestern direction instead of sonically worship LA. It's more profound and stripped back than its older brother 'Norman', goin' back to the Sirens/folky roots of Lizzy Grant - I praise that!
My new ldr albums ranking:
Honeymoon > NFR! > Chemtrails > Ultraviolence > Lust for Life > Paradise > Lana Del Ray a.k.a Lizzy Grant > Born To Die
