8 shows to get to know me
thanks for the tag @jwilliambyers !! <3 sorry it took a little while for me to reply heheh but now that i’m back from my tumblr break let me answer!!
1) supernatural. i feel like this one is pretty obvious LOL this show…….. permanently changed my brain chemistry- for better or for worse who can truly tell,,, but seriously, i had SUCH an attachment to this show as a 13/14/15 year old and at the time it was like,, the only important thing in my life lmao. it was the best show in the world and i lived and breathed spn for many of my teenage years…. and even though now i do recognize that it’s not the best i still love rewatching spn, it brings me a sort of comfort that’s hard to explain! and when i was struggling with things as a young teenager, spn was what i always turned to to make me feel better :’) plus,,, it was my introduction to tumblr fandoms lmao so. you’ve all got spn to thank for this account i guess!!!
2) derry girls. i finally watched this show a few weeks ago and i binged it all in just a few days because everything about it was AMAZING!!! i loved all the characters so much and i loved how this show really embraced its silliness. i feel like we don’t have enough “silly” shows and derry girls is just the perfect example of an amazing silly show!!! i highly recommend it to everyone!!
3) how to get away with murder. this show was SO GOOD and so so intense,, like i was stressed out every single episode lmao. but in a good way! i loved all (well, most) of the characters and this show does such a good job of getting you very attached to certain characters……. and then breaking your heart bc of them :’) the amount of times i cried aahh!!! also, all the plot twists are super well done in my opinion!! such an insane show i was literally watching like 😨😨😨 90% of the time lmao. also, queer rep!!!!
4) gilmore girls. okay. i am both a gilmore girls lover AND a gilmore girls hater. there are certain parts of this show that i absolutely adore and that make it such a comfort show for me, but other parts (and characters…) that annoyed me so much that it actually made me stop watching the show for the while lmao. but overall i do really like gilmore girls, it’s both a comfort show and a hatewatching show to me hehehe. the vibes of season 1 in stars hollow is unmatched though!!!
5) great pretender. i think great pretender is probably my favourite anime! i love a good found family heist story so this really just hit all the marks for me hehehe and in case you couldn’t tell,,, im a very character-driven person with my media, so if there are good characters in a show, there is a 99% chance that i will just love that show regardless of the plot lmao. i love laurent and makoto and abby and cynthia so much ;-; i also just loved all the twists and turns that this anime took, it’s unlike any other anime i’ve watched and agh!!!!! it’s incredible :’)
6) mob psycho 100. mp100 is like the perfect mix of shounen with action and fighting and stuff (and all the fight scenes are AMAZING like the animation ???? it’s so good oh my god and im not even the biggest shounen fan) with like. just slice of life and it’s so perfect :’) it’s so fun to watch, but it’s such a well written and exciting story and of course. AMAZING CHARACTERS!!!!!
7) haikyuu. haikyuu was one of the first animes i ever watched back in like 2014! so again, it has a very special place in my heart :’) i never thought i could care this much about a volleyball team but i do!! also, the rewatchability of haikyuu is UNMATCHED,, i think i’ve rewatched season 2 at least 10 times because it just brings me so much joy!! and again, i don’t know if i’ve watched a show with characters i care as much about as the haikyuu characters!! each and every one of them are so well-written like it’s insane to me- they’re all so good i can’t even pick a favourite!! also fun fact: haikyuu is the fandom that i’ve written the most fanfiction for! i’ve never posted any of it, but i’ve got a LOT of little haikyuu drabbles and one shots and planned-out fics in my google docs lmao- more than all my reddie fics actually! maybe i’ll post some if anyone is interested :’)
8) our flag means death. last but certainly not least,, ofmd is such a special show to me!!! i always had a little interest in pirates growing up, so when i first heard about 1. this new pirate show and 2. this new QUEER pirate show, i knew that i had to watch it!!!! and im so glad that i did because it is spectacular :’) again i feel like this is a show that embraced its silliness, but also the serious moments and plot points were so well written and such an amazing contrast to the silliness. i love this show so much and i’m so excited for season 2!!!
thank you again anita for this tag!!! im going to tag @edskasbpraks @lemonleafloser @scrunchi @reddieswift and @transkasp and anyone else who wants to do it !!!! no pressure though :)

You can bet they're reaching out to folks who want their audio content to match their own vibes about culture, life, and society. Is There Anything Alexandra Shipp Can't Achieve? Alexandra Shipp is no one-trick pony – she's a triple threat, boasting accomplishments as an actress, singer, and songwriter. In Lin-Manuel Miranda's directorial film debut, "tick, tick... BOOM!", a cinematic gem based on the autobiographical Off-Broadway masterpiece by the late Jonathan Larson, Shipp showcased her incredible versatility. She didn't just play 'Susan,' Jonathan Larson's long-term girlfriend; she embarked on a journey of self-discovery herself! Alexandra wowed us with brilliant solo performances and incredible duets alongside Andrew Garfield. The result? Rave reviews and awards buzz that left critics whizzing with excitement. But if you thought she was done, think again. Catch her right now in the summer's biggest blockbuster, Greta Gerwig's "BARBIE" for Warner Bros, starring alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. And if that's not enough to leave you in awe, she's currently in production for Will Gluck's untitled romantic comedy, featuring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. Is there anything Shipp can't conquer? Shipp's Filmography Explored In 2021, she released her debut musical masterpiece, the catchy "Dirty Long Sleeve Shirt." But that's just the beginning of the story! Shipp rocked the big screen as the iconic, mohawked superheroine 'Storm' in the X-Men blockbusters, including the epic battles of Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. She also delighted audiences with the critically acclaimed film "Love, Simon," which tugged at our heartstrings and also snagged the prestigious Outstanding Film award at the 2019 GLAAD Awards. What else is on the horizon, you ask? Kyra Sedgwick's cosmic adventure "Space Oddity," which intrigued audiences at last year's Tribeca Film Festival. And David Sandberg's riveting "Kung Fury II," where Shipp teams up with Michael Fassbender. Notable Film Credits That's not all she's earned. In 2018, the red carpet rolled out to honor Alexandra at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards with the prestigious "Face of the Future Award®." Why? For her extraordinary acting chops and her embodiment of timeless style and grace. Oh, and let's not forget the cherry on top – that same year, she snagged a "Rising Star Award" at the Napa Valley Film Festival. Additional credits include Asking For It, opposite Kiersey Clemons and Vanessa Hudgens; Nancy Meyer’s Father of the Bride (3ish), a Netflix project to raise money for World Central Kitchen; Jexi opposite Adam Devine; Netflix’s original film All The Bright Places, opposite Elle Fanning; Universal’s Oscar-nominated feature Straight Outta Compton; A Dog’s Way Home; the two-hander Tragedy Girls, TRAGEDY GIRLS; and the title role of ‘Aaliyah’ in the Lifetime biopic, Aaliyah. The Princess Of R&B's Bold Move To Los Angeles Hailing from the sunny streets of Phoenix, Arizona, the Princess of R&B went on a thrilling adventure when she packed her bags and headed to the City of Angels at the tender age of 17. From a small-town girl to a rising star, Shipp burst onto the silver screen with her debut appearance in the Fox sensation, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel." In television, she enchanted audiences with her portrayal of KT Rush on Nickelodeon's series, "House of Anubis." Isn't it fascinating how this Arizona native made her way to Hollywood and left her mark on both the big and small screens? All it took was a little squeak, a lot of courage, and a lot of hairspray! Celebrating Jason Derulo's Remarkable Musical And Financial Achievements With an imaginative flair that knows no bounds, Derulo has firmly established himself as a leading force in pop music. Ever since his breakthrough moment with the sensational "Whatcha Say," he's been on a roll. And the numbers? They speak volumes. From one platinum hit to another, he's got a mind-boggling 15 platinum singles under his belt! Those singles include, "Wiggle", "Talk Dirty", "Want to Want Me," "Trumpets," "It Girl", "In My Head," “Ridin' Solo,” “Don’t Wanna Go Home,” “Marry Me,” “ The Other Side,” “Get Ugly,” “Swalla,” “Savage Love” and “Take You Dancing.” But, have you ever wondered just how much this musical powerhouse is worth?  His net worth is soaring over the $100 million mark. Now, isn't that a journey worth celebrating? Since the inception of his solo recording journey back in 2009, he's been racking up over 18.2 billion worldwide streams, and his social media game? It's been absolutely unstoppable, with a jaw-dropping 117 million followers across all platforms. 500 Million+ Views And Counting Right now, Jason Derulo's in the lab cooking up his highly-anticipated fifth album, which also marks his grand entrance into the Atlantic Records family. And what's he been dishing out in the meantime? Smash hit after smash hit, each one racking up 500 million+ views. We're talking about tunes like the insanely catchy "Acapulco," the platinum-certified groovefest "Take You Dancing," and that chart-topping banger "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" in collaboration with Jawsh 685, which went triple platinum! And let's not forget the worldwide sensation that was the "Savage Love" BTS remix in 2020. It conquered the Billboard "Hot 100" and reigned supreme on the charts in 16 other countries. Jason is not just a music maestro, he's also an actor and savvy entrepreneur. He's diving into ventures like Catch L.A. and Rumble Boxing, and did you know he's part-owner of Bedlam Vodka? Plus, he's got an innovation-packed podcast in the works and a lineup of supplements and fitness goodies thanks to the Najafi Group and BodyBuilding.com. Jason Derulo Lights Up the NFL TikTok Tailgate Derulo has just unveiled something seriously cool – his very own graphic novel, "Jason Derulo’s UZO," brought to life by Z2 Comics, and it's based on a TikTok character he created himself. With his TikTok videos consistently raking in over 10 million views per post, you've got to wonder, how has this platform transformed his fan interaction? Derulo is not just any TikTok star; he's up there with the big shots. He's the 4th most followed guy on the platform and the 11th biggest account overall. His TikTok presence is growing faster than you can say "viral!" He's got 58.2 million followers from all around the globe and more than 1.2 billion likes! But here's the real head-scratcher: How Jason reclaim his throne as TikTok king? Well, last year, he dropped the summer sensation "Slidin'" and even challenged fans to dance to his own electric slide rendition on TikTok. And speaking of fun, this guy knows how to party. To celebrate the single, Derulo threw a wildly extravagant "Slidin’" Weekend in Miami with some of his closest creator pals. He had private jets, massive mansions, sexy yacht parties, hibachi dinners, clubbing, and more! In addition, the pop singer lit up the stage at the NFL TikTok Tailgate during the Super Bowl LVII pregame special! He cranked out many chart-toppers. But you won't believe this – he even treated us to the first live performance of his fresh single, "Saturday / Sunday," featuring David Guetta. Did you catch that epic show? It was one for the books! I'll also say that Warriors of the Deep is a train wreck, though the bit where the Doctor gets punted into the water (FACE IT TEGAN, HE'S DROWNED!!!!) is hysterically funny for all the wrong reasons, even if it is one of the most pathetic Dr Who cliffhangers.
i just finished this serial! it was another middle-of-the-road one but the ending was raw as fuck. unmatched in sudden and unresolved misery for the fifth doctor's run, other than the ending of earthshock, which is outrageously sad. the final scene is literally this:
Tumblr media
like... ow. okay.
likes:
that the doctor got pushed into the vat because then he had to wear a different costume for the episode and i love when that happens
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he also stole the outfit from someone else, which was very amusing
this bit because it fucks:
Tumblr media
that the silurians and sea devils teamed up and brought their big-ass pet to the battle. found family vibes ❤
gentlemanly combat, plus a generally insane amount of hand-to-hand fighting?? everyone was just wrestling everyone else for the whole serial
Tumblr media
a lot of catchphrases returned, which made me happy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
dislikes:
deus ex machina/convenient resolutions to problems, but that issue plagues the whole show, both classic and nuwho
the silly cliffhangers i guess?? i don't actually mind them, i can't take them seriously at all but i also don't have anything against them, i love that this show is so ridiculous/over the top
so much time was spent focusing on the crew and their weird, petty issues that ultimately didn't mean much... i wish they'd spent that time developing a few main characters, but it was spread out over many people's inconsequential drama
making maddox kill that lady and then immediately killing off his character without him getting any kind of revenge or resolution was...??? not great
the whole "the myrka is allergic to UV light" thing was funny because, if it lived in the depths of an ocean trench, the pressure change alone would rip it apart. plus, literally any light would have an effect on it if it were that sensitive. but it's fine. it's fine.
overall, i'd rate this one a bit above average. the plot wasn't great, but i liked the silurian/sea devil power couple. i also love that the doctor defended them against the humans - my favorite serials are the ones with people as enemies. they're like mirrors that reflect the darker side of human nature. i liked the humor in this one too, especially when it contrasted the unexpectedly tragic ending.
rating: nine hexachromite gas cannisters out of fourteen ❤

Rebels Thought Dump
AHHHH I just finished s1 of rebels & I'd just like to dump all my feelings out here so i can look back on them and cry when this show inevitably tears my heart out :,)
first of all??? the poetic cinema of ahsoka & vader making their first appearances in the show in the same episode???? UNMATCHED
ALSO!!! KANAN AND EZRA!! that bit where we saw kanan and ezra fighting the inquisitor & it looked a lot like the phantom menace duel!!! and when kanan said "you're smart, figure it out" to the inquisitor, which ezra quotes in the s2 finale!!!! (ik I just finished s1 but I've had so many spoilers which is whY I know this will only hurt me) ALSO the jedi temple episode, where they both work thru some personal garbage and come out as better people !!! (:D) this glorious character development we've seen from both of them in just 1 season is getting me so excited about what's to come (that I don't know already ;P)
ALSO,, I'm here to talk about SABINE!!! she is so talented and fantastic and pretty and expressive, I love her character SO MUCH & can't wait to see where it goes (ok I definitely sort of know but like not really. shush.). sabine is the Sassy Teenage Girl, a character I can definitely relate to, and seeing her be smart and strong and willing to do what she knows is right, along with having her own issues, but not letting them get in the way of her relationships with the others or their missions-- I love her I love her I love her
and how respectful ezra is of sabine!! I noticed how in the first few episodes, he was overly flirtatious, and honestly, coming off pretty strong. I was pretty worried about how this was going to work initially, if ezra was going to continue being, well, creepy, BUT I'm so happy to see that he's improving!! is he still definitely obsessed with her?? yes, he very much is. BUT, despite this, he's not being a creep anymore!! he's being a human about it!!! and accepting her friendship and treating her as a friend!!!! and he doesn't expect a relationship out of it!!!!! and when he flirts and she's clearly not into it he's learning to back off!!!!!! I love to see it. we stan a respectful king
and ZEB!!!! getting over his initial dislike of ezra!! speaking out against them shipping the weapons that killed his people!!!! being the cool older brother!!!! I SO hope we get more zeb-centric episodes in the future and more zeb character development, I love him SO MUCH
and hera. I'm literally never gonna shut up about hera. one of hera's best (and most telling) moments for me personally was during the lando episode, where he literally trades her off as a slave & she is so incredibly levelheaded about the whole thing. she plays along so she can get the mission done, and then as soon as she can, she escapes fabulously, using a tray as a weapon, gets back to the ship in one piece, then immediately kicks lando calrissian in the nuts. hera syndulla, thank you for your service. in all seriousness, though, this shows how strong, calm, down-to-earth, and committed she is. you don't find hera's kind everywhere, that's for sure. no other character in the star wars universe radiates such incredible Mom Energy, while also possessing such an incredible skill set (flying, shooting, mission planning, making grocery lists...) AND being, personality-wise, one of the best characters I've seen in star wars canon, period. god bless dave filoni for bringing this absolute heroine and role model to us.
and, on that track, how could I even say I watched rebels without mentioning.... KANAN AND HERA. there is SO MUCH mutual respect and adoration there, as well as trust and communication and... guys, I just love them. they have such a healthy and positive and good relationship, and it's *so* refreshing to see, especially in contrast with most of the relationships we get in clone wars (not that I don't like anidala or obitine, it's just that each has So Many Issues to work through, and kanan and hera are so emotionally healthy lmao)
also chopper. I'd say what I'm thinking but I'm so lazy and do I even need to say it?? absolute icon. I've literally never liked a droid as much as I love chopper before
I watched basically all of season 1 today and I just LOVE and RESPECT and ADORE all of these characters SO MUCH,,, their relationships with each other are so beautiful and unique and healthy, and I'm just getting so emotionally invested in the found family vibe and their relationships with each other and every single character (which I KNOW will only hurt me later ok). basically? everything about this show leaves me wanting more
also holy shiz ahsoka is gonna be there. s2 about to SLAP, here goes nothing. wish me luck out there
