We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:
Tu’er Shen, the Rabbit God of LGBTQIA+ Relations,                            whose origins stem from Ancient China.                                      He is currently unemployed.
FC NAME/GROUP: Lee Hoseok/Wonho - Soloist GOD NAME: Tu'er Shen / Tu Shen (Leveret Spirit / Rabbit God). He is the patron deity and safeguarder of LGBTQIA+ relations. IC NAME: Hu Tianbao PANTHEON: Chinese OCCUPATION: undecided DEFINING FEATURES: upturned rabbit-like nose
PERSONALITY: Ironically, Tian has grown a lot since his untimely death. However, he is still very much the same lovestruck young man that he was before his rise to divinity. Go figure that losing your life would give you a passion for living, right? He tries to experience new things whenever he can and not set limits on himself. This extends into his relationships with others as well. He has a big heart and cares very much for the people around him, the amount of which is always increasing because he's outgoing. Surprisingly, in spite of being a God who is known to help others find love, he isn't actually known for being monogamous. Part of his reasoning had been that he wasn't settled anywhere in the past, but nothing has changed now that he has put roots down in Mount Phoenix. Tian believes that he has a lot of love to give and that there is no reason it should be restricted to one person.
HISTORY: Many stories over the course of history have romanticized the act of sacrificing oneself for true love. Hu Tianbao doesn't really consider himself any different. A young soldier from the time of the Qing Dynasty, Tian found himself in quite the predicament when he fell for a man serving as a government official.
While bonds between men weren't unheard of in the province of Fujian, they were often concealed as a brotherly sort of relationship. The elder man, known as the qixiong (adoptive older brother) would pay what was essentially a bride price to the parents of the younger man, who would become known as the qidi (adoptive younger brother). They would even host a ceremony just like a formal wedding, after which the qidi would move into the qixiong's home and serve as the equivalent of a wife. Eventually, both men would be expected to marry women and procreate, but some of their partnerships could last up to twenty years before they separated to fulfill their "husbandly duties."
It was risky thinking that perhaps the man he desired would engage in such a deceptive partnership. The official was from another province and it was unlikely that their practices were the same, but Tian couldn't help how smitten he was. They'd met in passing, but he might as well have been invisible to the official, just another lowly commoner. Even so, he'd find himself longingly watching the man as he went about his duties and found it harder to keep his growing affections to himself. Could such a beautiful feeling truly be immoral? Unbeknownst to Tian, the official had noticed him hanging around and had grown suspicious of his intentions. He'd assumed he was a spy or some other shady criminal, but his attention had been harmless enough that the official couldn't make an accusation. The day came that Tian could no longer keep his feelings to himself, though, and he ventured to the bathhouse he knew the official frequented, hoping to catch him alone so he could tell him. He'd very nearly backed out, but the official saw him before he could and immediately questioned why Tian would invade his privacy. In a fit of nervous emotion, Tian confessed his love, saying that he knew it was wrong and that he was unworthy of a man of his stature, but that he couldn't help his heart's desire.
The official would have probably been less disgusted if Tian had confessed to murder. In a fit of rage, he dragged Tian out of the bathhouse and had his guards beat him to death, leaving his body beneath a dead tree. Tian journeyed to the Underworld, where the Lord of the Afterlife recognized his love had been true and granted him the title of the Rabbit God, so that he may oversee and protect the affairs of people like himself. With his newfound purpose, Tian returned to the mortal realm and appeared in the dream of a villager, telling him to build a temple where those in need could seek his aid.
For nine years, Tian blessed many relationships who would otherwise be shunned by the powers that be. In 1765, however, a new official named Zhu Gui came to Fujian. On the surface, he seemed like a true servant of the people, but his ultimate goal was the expansion of Confusian principles. He would create and enforce the first law in China to ban homosexual relations and so began his crusade against what he deemed as the "Cult of Hu Tianbao." Zhu Gui accused the Rabbit God's followers of being lewd individuals who prayed in secret for assistance in corrupting the youth to share in their depraved desires. It didn't take much convincing for him to receive government support to destroy their places of worship.
Tu'er Shen's temples were razed to the ground. His idols were smashed to pieces and scattered into the river to never be recovered. Like the forgotten bits sinking into the dark depths, those who worshipped and found comfort in the controversial God were forced to do so in secret. They would erect small, unmarked shrines that only they knew the true purpose for and couldn't even tell the tale of the unfortunate Hu Tianbao without the fear of retribution. Yet the shunned God still listened to the pleas of those who felt misunderstood and oppressed simply for who they loved. He only wished that he could reach out to more of the community that had no other Gods to turn to who understood their plight.
For nearly two centuries, the government's persecution of his followers had left Tu'er Shen's already discrete temples abandoned. If anyone happened across it, there wasn't even any sign that it belonged to the Rabbit God, except for the coincidental presence of bunnies that could occasionally be caught scurrying away into the foliage. He would go years before he would hear the whispers of someone's prayers... So it was with great sorrow that Tu'er Shen left Fujian. The harsh reality was that he couldn't do much for people who didn't know he even existed. A forgotten God was powerless... Yet as the civil rights movement for the LGBTQIA+ community grew in fervor, he realized that he could do so much more as just a man.
Tianbao traveled the world, finding the little pockets of people willing to fight for the freedom to love who they wanted without the fear of suffering the same grim fate as so many others. It wasn't until the 20th century that the movement truly started gaining traction and was able to make legal leaps and bounds to decriminalize same-sex partnerships. Seeing the progress that humans made, without having to entreaty the aid of a higher power, really astounded Tianbao. He would have never thought in his wildest dreams that any of what he'd witnessed would ever be possible. A once silent community had found its own voice and fought against all odds to make sure they were heard.
While Western nations were making more progress, though, Tian wasn't ignorant to the seemingly insurmountable oppression that was still going on in his homeland. In 2006, he found himself called back when a priest in Taiwan built the first temple dedicated to The Leveret Spirit in nearly two centuries. Even though he had been fighting for civil rights alongside mortals for many years, there had always been a sense that something was missing. Hearing the prayers of those who felt alone and reminding them that they were not fulfilled a purpose he had all but forgotten. During his years spent in Taiwan, Tian had crossed paths with a few Gods and Goddesses from an island out in the sea that mere mortals couldn't find. It wasn't until 2019, when same-sex marriages were legalized in Taiwan, that Tian decided to go check out this island for himself and he has remained there ever since.
POWERS: in his myth, Tu'er Shen can enter dreams and interact with the dreamer. But when going to his temple, people pray to him to find love and for blessings/good fortune in same-sex relationships. Usually at the temple, they ask for talismans or blessings on things like skin care products to hopefully attract a partner. So I was thinking his powers would be the ability to walk in dreams and influence the dreamer, momentarily increasing the luck or allure of someone carrying a blessed item, and minor wish granting.
STRENGTHS: confident, assertive, observant, instinctive, friendly WEAKNESSES: single minded, overly emotional, blames himself for things he can't control, overly protective of his children, cannot swim

It is during the phase of adolescence that individuals experience the persistent drive to establish the self against society and authority. Exhibited through various ways like behaviour, thoughts, speaking, etc. During teenage, there goes a stubborn urge to disregard all norms and ways of the world and build one’s own, usually in terms of self. Teenage is the phase when individuals look at the world beyond what they considered as “right” and “wrong” as a child and start to question; for as a child, there was compliance and obedience to parental authority and teachings of educational and societal institutions. However, one crucial aspect that the teen develops during this turning point of their emotional and psychological development is that of the ideal.
Tumblr media
Adolescence witnesses the development of the prefrontal region of the brain, the part that involves thinking and judgement. That means, the teenager now develops their own ideas and defines them.
Adolescence may be regarded as the transition stage from the Innocence of childhood to the Experience of adulthood. Teenagers begin to see the world in a different perspective and see through some of its workings. But this is the time when they have barely achieved anything, in terms of skills, abilities or personality. And so, the never-ending strife to reach their fullest potential and establish themselves begin.
This is about how teenagers with an extreme regard for the self and the desire to control have the potential to be significantly affected by the story of Death Note (especially because it falls in the Shōnen category of anime). Now, I am not of the opinion that children should be left in the illusionary world of fairy-tales (in fact, I think poetic-justice should never be introduced to kids at all, but that is for a different discussion). Nor am I accusing Death Note for its bleak depiction of power and justice (I fangirl over how true it is to reality).
Tumblr media
This is about how rebellious teens may develop megalomania in the context of Death Note.
Firstly, what is Megalomania?
Tumblr media
It is a mental disorder characterized by an excessive, painful increase in attention to one’s own person.
This disease is a delusional type of self-awareness and personality behaviour expressed by an extreme degree of overestimation of one’s importance, fame, popularity, wealth, power, genius, political influence, and even omnipotence. “Megalomania” originates from the Greek “μεγαλο” – very large or exaggerated, and “μανία” – passion, insanity.
So, megalomania is a kind of mental disorder when one tends to overestimate their own abilities and possibilities.
In Death Note, protagonist Light Yagami is introduced to us as a top student holding an apathetic disgust towards the “rotten” world as well as bored out of his mind. He already knows how terrible the world really is. And there is not anything he or anyone can do to change it. In that way, one might say that Light has already achieved the Experience which requires one to realise the nature of reality.
Tumblr media
Teenagers, in their process of disregarding the societal norms, hold their own recently developing opinion in high regard. They come to realise that the monster under the bed is very real. And there is no escaping it. It only depends on whether you fight it, or let it tame you. Being controlled, being subdued are not ideal situations for a raging teenager.
They begin to see the world as Light already saw it in the first episode of the anime. But actually, they are yet to settle down on the realisation that there is little that can be done in order to improve the situation.
All boredom of Light dissolves once he realises that the Death Note actually works. We watch the rays of the rising sun dramatically light up(no pun intended) his person as he declares in front of Shinigami Ryuk that he will be the God of the New World.
Teenagers, fuelled by hot blood, are bent upon changing the ways of the world, regarding the failures of others to do the same thing as inefficient or not well thought out. Thus, they, like Light, take up the responsibility to be the harbinger of justice and strive towards their goal. Herein lies the key for impact: when one begins to empathize with this fictional self-proclaimed God, the one to be known as “Kira”.
We see megalomania in Light himself once he successfully wipes out Naomi from his path. This proved to be the turning point when the previously confident Light was on the verge of getting exposed. All his manipulations had failed as Naomi, very cleverly, kept her real name a secret. Regardless of his desperation, Light’s cunning helps him once again as he cold bloodedly performs another act of lie. Naomi falls for it and he dramatically declares himself to be Kira.
Tumblr media
Light basks in control and power as Naomi walks away towards her own death. He relishes in his success and realises that he has the potential to do anything that he wants. Because he is the one with the true potential to pass righteous judgement.
This scene itself, where all viewers sit with bated breath, has the ability to exhibit that you can achieve whatever you want, as long as you have the brains for it. The adolescent mind, overcome with the sheer power of intelligence that Light displays against someone standing in his path, might see it as an (I dare to use the term) inspiration.
Even when L was up close and there was no way for Light to escape, the latter was able to devise a plan which involved his own amnesia. Seemingly fool-proof, reliant and absolutely successful. Victory assured. And L’s death too.
As a teen who takes up responsibilities, one soon realises that the system of justice is not white. Corruption is everywhere. And so are the whims of those in authority. It doesn’t take a teen much time to realise (especially if things don’t go according to their plan) that depending on others would not really pay well. Their ideals, self-image and thought process are all in conflict and contrast with the society.
Tumblr media
The system is not reliable.
Crime pays very often.
Safety is not ensured.
Danger is lurking everywhere.
At a time of fiery rebellion against all kinds of fear and oppression, societal or political, Light Yagamis methods and ideas seem valid enough.
The story, however, progresses to show that power, in fact, breeds corruption of the self as well. To Light, the end becomes so important that he disregards the vice he employs in his means. He manipulates Misa who loved him. He considers killing his sister if her rescue fails. While his father is on the death bed, all he cares about is Mello's name in the notebook.
Tumblr media
But “world's greatest detective” L is quite vocal in pointing out what exactly caused him to suspect Light Yagami in the first place. This exposes Light’s mistakes which includes creating an image of the too-perfect and very-common civilian as well as using people as mere tools.
“Killing is not so easy as the innocent believe.” Said Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince).
The active teen who is new and eager in the business of bringing about “positive” change thinks that Light Yagami’s individual mistakes are enough to learn from. Sure. They would be careful to not commit the same if they are to hide certain things. The active teen is yet to go through disillusionment and realise that in each individual’s life, various factors affect various events differently. What led to the exposure and end of Kira may not play a part in another’s failure.
As was Light blinded by power, so is the teenager to prove and establish themselves.
And this has the potential to prove as all the more reason for the rebellious and sensitive teen to believe that they are the one who can surpass all their predecessors of justice, learn from their mistakes, act accordingly and finally achieve the ideal end. All that one needs is careful, very careful planning.

True patience.
this is illuminated in Today’s reading with the beginning of the Letter of James:
James, a servant of God and the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, to the twelve tribes of Israel who are spread across the earth: I send you my warmest welcome!
Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line—mature, complete, and wanting nothing. If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey, then all you have to do is ask God for it; and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking.
The key is that your request be anchored by your single-minded commitment to God. Those who depend only on their own judgment are like those lost on the seas, carried away by any wave or picked up by any wind. Those adrift on their own wisdom shouldn’t assume the Lord will rescue them or bring them anything. The splinter of divided loyalty shatters your compass and leaves you dizzy and confused.
If you are a brother of humble means, celebrate the fact that God has raised you up. If you are rich and seemingly invincible, savor the humble reality that you are a mere mortal who will vanish like a flower that withers in the field. The sun rises with a blazing heat that dries the earth and causes the flower to wither and fall to the ground and its beauty to fade and die. In the same way, the rich will fall and die in the midst of their busy lives.
Happy is the person who can hold up under the trials of life. At the right time, he’ll know God’s sweet approval and will be crowned with life. As God has promised, the crown awaits all who love Him.
No one who is tempted should ever be confused and say that God is testing him. The One who created us is free from evil and can’t be tempted, so He doesn’t tempt anyone. When a person is carried away with desire, lured by lust, and when desire becomes the focus and takes control, it gives birth to sin. When sin becomes fully grown, it produces death.
My dearly loved brothers and sisters, don’t be misled. Every good gift bestowed, every perfect gift received comes to us from above, courtesy of the Father of lights. He is consistent. He won’t change His mind or play tricks in the shadows. We have a special role in His plan. He calls us to life by His message of truth so that we will show the rest of His creatures His goodness and love.
Listen, open your ears, harness your desire to speak, and don’t get worked up into a rage so easily, my brothers and sisters. Human anger is a futile exercise that will never produce God’s kind of justice in this world. So walk out on your corrupt liaison with smut and depraved living, and humbly welcome the word of truth that will blossom like the seed of salvation planted in your souls.
Put the word into action. If you think hearing is what matters most, you are going to find you have been deceived.
If some fail to do what God requires, it’s as if they forget the word as soon as they hear it. One minute they look in the mirror, and the next they forget who they are and what they look like. However, it is possible to open your eyes and take in the beautiful, perfect truth found in God’s law of liberty and live by it. If you pursue that path and actually do what God has commanded, then you will avoid the many distractions that lead to an amnesia of all true things and you will be blessed.
If you put yourself on a pedestal, thinking you have become a role model in all things religious, but you can’t control your mouth, then think again. Your mouth exposes your heart, and your religion is useless. Real, true religion from God the Father’s perspective is about caring for the orphans and widows who suffer needlessly and resisting the evil influence of the world.
The Letter of James, Chapter 1 (The Voice)
do we think that God is not absolutely pure True nature?
and we are all made in the image of our Creator, but we’re not all children of God our heavenly Father
we have to choose to be.
and the Scriptures are a wake-up call to the heart to awaken to the eternal, to be open to welcome the entrance of the Spirit as a guarantee of sacred promises to come as seen in the True illumination of the Son
Today’s paired chapter of the Testaments is the 20th chapter of First Chronicles that documents ancient wartime in Israel:
That spring, the time when kings usually go off to war, Joab led the army out and ravaged the Ammonites. He then set siege to Rabbah. David meanwhile was back in Jerusalem. Joab hit Rabbah hard and left it in ruins. David took the crown off the head of their king. Its weight was found to be a talent of gold and set with a precious stone. It was placed on David’s head. He hauled great quantities of loot from the city and put the people to hard labor with saws and picks and axes. This is what he did to all the Ammonites. Then David and his army returned to Jerusalem.
Later war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. That was the time Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai of the clan of giants. The Philistines had to eat crow. In another war with the Philistines, Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite whose spear was like a ship’s boom. And then there was the war at Gath that featured a hulking giant who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six on each hand and foot—yet another from the clan of giants. When he mocked Israel, Jonathan son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him. These came from the clan of giants and were killed by David and his men.
The Book of 1st Chronicles, Chapter 20 (The Message)
my personal reading of the Scriptures for Tuesday, january 19 of 2021 with a paired chapter from each Testament of the Bible, along with Today’s Psalms and Proverbs
A post by John Parsons about knowing:
You may feel anxious about knowing God, about how to relate to him or how to understand or interpret the Scriptures, though the heart can only know the essential meaning of God in the state of its need, as its ultimate concern, and therefore unless you cry out “from the depths” of your being, you are merely intellectualizing or playing games... After all, the inner heart asks "How can I find God?" "How can I relate to God?" "How can I find hope and life?" but the answers to such questions are found by personal encounter with the reality of the Spirit of God, not by theological rationalizations.
It is one thing to say "Lord" or "Master" but quite another to say "my Lord," or "my Master..." The Torah teaches that name of God refers to that which God alone is, namely, the "I am that I am"(אהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה) which is unknowable apart from the miracle of disclosure within the heart. That is why we find so many different names and titles for God in Scripture, for these are disclosures to the heart in a time of its need. For instance, to know God's name as "Savior" (מוֹשִׁיעַ) means experiencing deliverance from your struggles, pains, and fears by the agency of God’s victory, comfort, and consolation as given in Yeshua. However, unlike the experience of worldly education that might enable you accomplish certain tasks, spiritual education leads to a “dark clouds of unknowing” where you must regularly confess your weakness and your need for divine connection. God's name is therefore bound up with the basic quest within the heart for meaning, healing, and the desire of unconditional love. Knowing the name of God is an ongoing process as you struggle to accept and trust your life to be a blessing, and as you are enabled by the Holy Spirit to say "yes" and "amen" to life despite your failures, pains, fears, sorrows, and even your unanswered questions... It means opening your heart to life and believing that you are loved, that you are accepted, that you will be okay, and that God is holding you in his everlasting arms. [Hebrew for Christians]

The Blindness of Israel
“What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.” (Romans 11:7)
One of the saddest aspects of our world is the blindness of Israel. Even the Orthodox Jews, who strongly affirm their belief in the Old Testament Scriptures, seem unable to see what the Scriptures clearly show, that their Messiah has come and gone. In the first book of the Torah, we read: “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be” (Genesis 49:10). Ancient Jewish commentators agreed that Shiloh was another name for Messiah, but this very fact should prove to modern Jewish expositors that Messiah has already come, for the scepter (the symbol of national leadership) did depart from Judah, very soon after Jesus was crucified.
King David was the first descendant of Judah to attain the scepter of leadership among the tribes of Israel, and the divine promises were clear that Messiah would be in David’s lineage. That Jesus’ legal father, Joseph, and human mother, Mary, were both in that lineage was shown in the genealogies of Matthew 1:1-17 and Luke 3:23-38, respectively, both of which were written when the genealogical records in the Temple were still intact. No one at that time ever questioned their validity, in spite of intense opposition by the Jews to the claims of Jesus and His disciples that He was the Messiah. In 70 AD, the records and the Temple were destroyed so that no later claimant to the title could ever prove his right to the throne. Messiah had come, and was slain, so the scepter departed from Judah until He comes again. It is certain that Jesus was, indeed, the Jews’ promised Messiah, and we should pray that God will soon open their eyes to see and believe. HMM

Wrong
Ship: Syndianite (Tom x S1 Dianite)
Summary: Something was wrong with Dianite. It started with sudden bouts of chaos, not too unusual, but still out of place. Then went 0-100 in the blink of an eye. He viscously attacked his siblings, tried to break Ianite. He was going mad. And it was getting worse.
(AN: Once again, I watched S1 so very long ago, and my memory might be a tad foggy with some details. I was going to write more fluff, but my mind was like “You know the corruption in Mianite Awakening” and I was like, no, don’t go there, and it pulled out a knife and said “DO IT”. So here we are. Somewhat based on Mianite Awakening and partially on @maiatanfallan-arts what-if/headcanon (I swear I’m not stalking your blog…))
Tom was not scared. He was not intimidated, or feeling oppressed, or even a tiny bit fearful. Fuck no. He was super fucking worried. For a while all was peaceful. After the war, he had started (and kicked ass in), the Purge was put in place to stop any such event from taking place again. Strangely enough, the Purge was the first thing to show something was wrong with Dianite. On a day where rules meant nothing (apart from no killing, still very, very illegal), the zombie would have imagined that the Nether god would have thrived with the bouts of chaos that were unleashed. Instead, as the day came to a close, it seemed to have set him off…… but not in the usual way.
Admittedly, Dianite was the type to destroy things in his rages, needed a physical release for his emotions. This particular Purge day, however, led him to simply… glare. It was strange. Tom could tell he was upset, at what was a mystery. His eyes shone with an inner fire kindled by emotion and the markings along his body were glowing with a bright intensity. According to Furia (who still didn’t like Tom, but they united to assist the angered god) Dia had been standing there for nearly an hour. At one point, he had been so enraged that his horns started to let loose ashes from where they smoldered on the inside. (Tom personally though the demonic glowing was pretty hot, no pun intended, but this was not the time).
With Furia seemingly reluctant to approach the god, Tom took it upon himself to query, albeit a bit wary, as to what ailed him. As he came closer to the seated god, perched upon his throne in an uptight yet mighty fashion, the immortal’s eyes flicked to him. For a moment, the champion was stunned by the pressure hidden in those eyes, as though he was fighting something. (He would later, once he returned to this world, find out that this was the first time Dianite was close to losing against the corruption. The god insists that if he hadn’t walked up when he did, he would have fallen to it, even if only for a moment).
“Dia?” Tom addressed the god with a concerned frown. There was no response beyond a single blink. It was almost as though the god was… trying to recall where he was, what he was doing. The zombie strode closer to him, reaching out to carefully place his hand where it wouldn’t be burnt (Though it was hard to tell with the overall glowing skin). His touch seemed to draw him back, and with a breath, his markings started to fade to their traditional coloring. The Nether god slowly opened his arms, “Come here Tom.” On any other day, he would have bitched about being, well, the god’s bitch, but today was different. Skipping the pointless words, he elected to sink into the god’s lap, snuggling up into his chest and settling down. “Are you alright mate,” Tom asked once they had suitably wrapped around each other. He received no reply. And so, he worried more.
~
The next time was more… subtle, in a way. There were no obvious tells, but he felt something was off. In his recent trek through the Nether (getting more levels for enchanting) the pigmen seemed uncomfortable, the ghasts floating higher in the higher, passing by him with muted whimpers. It was almost as though the realm itself was waiting for something, warily expecting an event. It took a lot of effort not to full out run to Dianite’s personal temple.
Upon arrival the signs became clearer, subtle, but hard for a common guest to miss. The guards hid an anxious look in their eyes, the other passer-byes walked with an uneasy twitch and Furia seemed to be missing. The zombie strode through the corridors with purpose, making a bee-line for Dianite’s pseudo office. (Really, it was the room he pretended to do work in, while listening to the prayers of his scattered following). “Good morning sunshine!” Tom chose to loudly announce his entrance (never knocking, he knew the god could tell he was coming from miles away, but he enjoyed the theatrics) despite it being well past noon in the overworld. The god spared him a glance before returning to his staring contest with some bullshit excuse of a property claim against one of his followers (though he may be terrible with paperwork, or legal problems in general, he could point out the flaws in anyone’s argument, often taking out his opposition through purely undermining their side).
With a huff, Tom continued into the room, pulling wasting no time. “What is wrong?” Just as the time before, Dianite remained off, shoulders tense, face set in a strange stoic expression, and gave no reply. Sighing, the zombie resolutely took vigil on the armrest of Dia’s rather large chair. (When he first got it many of his followers teased him about how it was basically a couch, until he stopped looking at the paperwork of any who referenced it as such. They quickly shut up about it).
As the Nether god leaned back over the papers he was definitely not looking at, Tom took the chance to work out the knots in the gods back. With a firm hand, he worked for at least an hour, before the god pulled him down into his lap, and resumed his ‘work’. They stayed like this for the rest of the day, and the atmosphere seemed to lighten with each passing moment. (The gratitude the god let show in his eyes when he carried his sleepy champion to bed stayed with him in his dreams that night).
~
It was the night of the Ianite reveal. The telling of what Dianite did to her. Her heart, her very soul. Stolen. While the others fretted over their next course of action, Tom fled to the Nether. He had to see his god, needed to know. Why. What brought him to taking such drastic measures, even for their brand of chaos.
The lava world was full of a charged silence. No pigmen were to be found. Ghasts huddled far above, no sounds emitting from them. Blazes were plunged deep into lava lakes. It all felt one push away from snapping. His path to Dianite’s temple was met with no life.
He crept through abandoned hallways, his path to the throne room completely empty. No guards, no fellow followers (though few chose to trek this far regardless), no mobs, just silence. The only sound permeating the thickness of the air was the clack of his shoes on the nether brick. Before him the door to the throne room was cracked open, and gave no resistance when pushed farther.
There, upon the steps before the might chair, sat the Nether god. He was hunched over, a small shaking taking over his frame. He held his head in his hands, curled in on himself. Tom approached him with an uncharacteristic softness. “Dia?” he called out to the god.
There was no response until he was knelt before him. “What did I do,” he immortal whispered brokenly, “What did I do?” He had no answer that would help, nothing to say to make this better. The god lifted his head. For a moment, Tom was taken aback by how much his eyes had changed. They were shadowed, lacking the fire they often sported, and something swam beneath them, something new. And in that instance, Tom knew, no matter what anyone said, that something was wrong with his god, had been for a while now. It was then he doubted if Dianite even knew what was wrong.
Wordlessly Tom wrapped his arms around the god, offering the one comfort he could give. He rested his cheek on his head, brushing against his horns, and gently rocked him. They stayed like that for hours. (And if Dianite had let himself cry, sob wretchedly into Tom’s chest, the evidence was gone by the time the zombie had to leave, managing to arrive late to the meeting set by the heroes, but leave far too early from comforting his forsaken god).
(AN: This was SUPOSSED TO BE FLUFF. Why am I so terrible? I’m not  sure if I did the event justice ,as I was too lazy to look up the video to see how it really played out, but my main intent was to capture the guilt Dianite felt, so I guess it worked. I am a sucker for s1 Dianite actually being a good guy, just influenced for corrupted)

On Applying Radical Love To The Revolution
“The true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love. It is impossible to think of a genuine revolutionary lacking this quality.” - Ernesto “Che” Guevara
Preface
As a Christian leftist, an Anarcho-Communist in particular, most people on both sides of my chosen ideologies will not understand or even agree with my conclusions that follow. However, I feel that I must make known my convictions, if not for the sake of the people who strive for truth and justice, but for the very least, my own sanity and easement of my extreme disappointment at the current state of our world which I so dearly love. This is not meant to be an authority on political or religious orthodoxy, as I, a human am just as fallible in my thinking as anyone else. Rather this is meant to offer a point of discussion, in hopes that honest and meaningful dialogue can inspire change from the collective desire for unity and reconciliation in this broken world. For all who read this, I offer the humblest of thanks, and the greatest desire for peace and joy within your life.
The Beauty of the Resurection
The message of Christ is one of liberation. It is a message of redemption. It is a message of hope for all who suffer under the bondage of oppression and sin. The death and resurrection of Christ put an end to spiritual death, rescuing humanity from all forms of servitude to the forces of evil that held us in darkness. 1 Corinthians 13: 54-57 states, “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Our hope resides in the sacrifice of Christ and his utter destruction of the bonds that held us in slavery to sin and oppression. Does this signify the end of all earthly hardship? Of course not! As we can all very well observe, corruption and hatred is rampant in our society today, as it has been for thousands of years. We must seek militant struggle to end these crimes, but we must also take heart in the fact that the ultimate victory has been won.
Our Struggle
This struggle against the evil of this world has been one that has raged since the beginning of time. Men and women of all generations have attempted to break the bondage of human suffering through revolutionary acts, often creating temporary pockets of freedom and progress. As history shows, this revolutionary growth, while often very gradual has been the overriding theme of humanity as it  has developed. What I seek to show is that biblical hope is not mutually exclusive to militant revolutionary tactics in developing a better world.
A constant notion that is thrown around is that of love. We often hear that “love trumps hate,” yet in a world where violence is the exclusive weapon perpetrated against the people by the state and other reactionary, fascist forces, it is often difficult to accept such a notion that love can defeat the behemoth of the capitalist, imperialist, state apparatus. And while no true revolution can ever succeed through peaceful intentions, as our own American Revolution has taught us (however pitiful its application has been), the necessity for a loving humanity remains immensely crucial for any success to be achieved. Therefore, I would like to posit a revolutionary theory based upon the biblical notion of love.
The following will be based upon 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. This is a passage that is typically reserved for weddings, in showing how one partner should love the other. Yet I find it no less applicable now than it is in the context of marriage.
Love is patient
Many revolutionaries idealistically seek an immediate change in societal thought and action. Both Marxists and Anarchists have fought for an immediate transfer of power, whether under a transitional proletarian state or a direct democracy coinciding with the abolition of the state completely, yet these endeavors have all but failed. Many contextual circumstances have factored into these failures, however I personally believe the overriding sentiment in derailing their success has been the impatience of the people and those revolutionaries who so desperately sought to end injustice and oppression. Love is patient.  Revolution takes time and it is our duty as participants to realize that people’s hearts are not going to be changed overnight. Coercion only takes things so far and ultimately results in the kind of oppression we are fighting in the first place.
Love is kind
While it may be easy and many times necessary to fight fire with fire, we must remember as revolutionaries that our duty is to the people. Kindness to those who we may disagree with is essential for our success and survival. This does not mean that we capitulate to opposing, reactionary ideas, rather that we come along side them and bring them toward a better understanding of a grand alternative. Self defense and militancy against our oppressors is a necessity, but for the masses, even those who oppose us, kindness and grace will ultimately bear more fruit than mindless repression. We must remember that the majority of the working class is working to survive and may not have the advantage of understanding the complexities of the political realm. A little grace goes a long way in convincing people of our cause.
It does not envy
For leftists of all ideologies, this should be a no brainer. Envy is one of the main tools of capitalism that divides us as the people. Love seeks to make sure everyone is provided for, no matter their social status, race, gender etc. When we strive to acquire what we cannot or don’t have, we fall into the trap of self serving exploitation, doing whatever is necessary to gain meaningless treasures, whether they be physical goods or accolades from our peers or anything else that seeks to promote ourselves above our fellow man.
It does not boast, it is not proud
While the temptation will always exist to seek affirmation for the success of revolutionary action, we must not let ourselves become so diluted in the thought that we are the sole saviors of the revolution. In the words of Emma Goldman, “Conceit, arrogance, and egotism are the essentials of patriotism…Patriotism assumes that our globe is divided into little spots, each one surrounded by an iron gate. Those who have had the fortune of being born on some particular spot, consider themselves better, nobler, grander, more intelligent than the living beings inhabiting any other spot.” We must not fall into the arrogance of our privilege while neglecting the needs of those who struggle for survival every day. We must remember that it is ultimately the masses, the people, who take all the honor of carrying out the revolution.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking
This sentiment echoes the above statement in that by seeking reform and justice, we cannot dishonor the efforts and struggles of all people who fight for truth and integrity within the world. While there may be small, petty disagreements between revolutionaries, we are duty bound by love to hold our character intact when interacting with the people and our fellow comrades. Disunity is the knife in the back of any revolution. Self seeking behavior is counter-revolutionary and only leads to disruption and ego. This can be the difference between liberation and oppression in any struggle.
it is not easily angered
While righteous anger directed at injustice is acceptable and ultimately the backbone of any resistance movement, we must be careful to not let emotions get in the way of organized, effective action. Past actions by well intentioned revolutionaries have shown that poor tactics and planning based on emotional reactions have resulted in disastrous atrocities and unnecessary death and destruction. It is our duty to protect not only our own activists but the general population first and foremost. Misguided anger, especially within organized resistance movements can mean the difference between life and death.
it keeps no record of wrongs
This may be the most difficult concept of all to grasp as a revolutionary. As we look around the world, we can very easily see the massive amount of injustice that keeps the people in bondage. We must not ignore this! Our main duty as members of the resistance is to fight against this evil and serve the people as best we can. Yet as the masses turn from subjugation to liberation, we must look past any former indiscretions to build a better, more unified society. There will always be crimes that need to dealt with from the elites, the ruling class and counter-revolutionaries, but we must remember that ignorance is not a crime. Many of the people in this world are simply unaware of the general injustices that are holding them down. They cannot be held accountable for their blindness to the realities around them. It is our duty as revolutionaries to bring to light these crimes and take part in their suffering so that they may understand true freedom.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth
“To tell the truth is revolutionary.” - Antonio Gramsci. For far too long, our understanding of the world outside the west has been tainted by xenophobic, racist, reactionary rhetoric that much of the general populace has eagerly adopted without so much as a second thought. Truth is a scarce commodity in our age. With the state seemingly extremely content with deceiving the public outright, our objective of justice and revolutionary change is threatened dramatically. We must not let the lies of the ruling class convince us of supporting evil under the guise of patriotism, safety or worse yet, unity. Truth is our most valuable weapon against the fascist goliath that faces us. Your ignorance is their power!
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
Our main goal as revolutionaries, as members of this resistance is to protect those who are the most marginalized. This includes POC, LGBTQ, immigrants, the poor, refugees and anyone else who is systematically oppressed by capitalism. It is our greatest responsibility! We must always trust their needs and respond to them accordingly. It is out of love that we do this! It is out of a righteous indignation that we fight for what is right! We must stay strong and always hope for a better world. “The hopeless don’t revolt, because revolution is an act of hope.” - Peter Kropotkin. We must always persevere, no matter the cost. Hasta la victoria siempre! Until victory always!
The Victory In Revolutionary Love
“We know that the road to freedom has always been stalked by death.” - Angela Davis. As a Christian, I believe that Christ’s death provided the ultimate sacrifice for liberation. Yet our earthly job is far from finished. As long as revolutionaries and ordinary people seeking justice continue to love, resist and care for one another, I truly believe that another world is possible. Our victory is already here! We only need to reach out and grasp it. The fight goes on!
In Solidarity,
C. Becker
